Currently watching Europa League. Man Utd, Lyon, Roma, Ajax, Schalke, Monchengladbach, I reckon we'd give any of them a decent game over 2 legs. If you were to offer me last 16 of CL or 3rd place and a run in the EL I honestly think I'd go for the latter. With a few more signings we could do quite well in that tournament.

Agree Kev. Said for a while I'd like to see us have a good crack at the Europa.

Finishing bottom of our CL group this year, the aim next year, obviously, would be to go one better. Qualify, hopefully with a decent draw finish 3rd, have the CL money banked for the season after and see how far we can go. Season after, use that wind fall wisely, and again try to get third, and try to get further in the EL. If we manage to qualify from our CL group, fair play, but I really would like to see us go on a EL run.

A 'marquee' CAM, a RWF who can contribute like Sinclair, a top drawer centre half and I reckon we could have a shot.

He the next couple years of building I would be have with any European football after Christmas but I would love to see us having a right good go at getting beyond the last 16 of champions league.

would rather give the europa a big miss. Hated the fact that we always have to play on a sunday after playing on thursdays.

Do you know much about the new Head of Recruitment guy we've just brought in Ed?

{Ed007's Note - Not really mate, if you look at posts from yesterday you'll see us talking about him.}

What would everyone's preference be?

Either:

Keep moussa next season and roberts returns to city

Sell moussa for £30 mill with Roberts signed on a permanent contract

I'd go for the second option.

Sell moussa for 50 million or more . send roberts back to city and buy a real quality right winger.

Moussa for me.

DRB: now before anyone shoots me down, here is my 2p.
Roberts is a good player, my problem with PR is that he is not a fast tuning with the ball as JF and he is just a bit lightweight atm. I know that Sinky on the left is a far better player than both, but I think we should be looking at a similar player as Sinky for the right side. PR has already stated that he wants to go back to City to try and get into the 1st team . On the second point I think we may wel get another season out of Moussa unless a really really good offer comes in, which would need to be done early doors of the transfer so we have time to get a replacement.

There ain't a hope in hell moussa will get sold for 50 million! No chance! I like and rate wee paddy but I wouldn't pay the money City would want for him! If moussa goes for 25-30 million I'd invest it in another striker and a really top quality centre half! Think we're still lacking at the back, boyata isn't even close to being the answer and god knows what's happened to Erik! So another striker and centre half for me and if there's money left I'd buy another right winger to.

or show some ambition and sign both.

Keep Dembele all day long. Don't entertain any bids until they get crazy. He's still only 20. Scary how good he might get. He's contracted until 2020 and if he has another season like this season that should be extended. He's said he wants to stay here for years, Roberts wants to try his hand elsewhere.

16 Mar 2017 15:53:08
In previous years we have always accepted big bids for star players but perhaps the influence of BR could help us keep Dembele for at least another season while the return of Roberts could be addressed by CL profits and cash raised from the departure of guys like Ciftci, Ambrose, Allen, GMS, Commons and other surplus squad players.
The manager has only really used one transfer window so far and I am sure he must have a shopping list for PL.

Keep Dembelle, go further in the champions league, sell Dembelle, same old, same old.

Keep Dembele another year and hopefully he keeps performing and make the French squad for next year's world cup. The price then would be massive!

We will keep Dembele if he wants to stay.
We will lose him if he wants to go, and the only bargaining point will be the fee we get. HH.

To be fair I can't see him making the world cup squad for France next year. With Griezzmen (excuse the spelling) Lacazette, Giroud, Martial to name a few. Would anybody take a punt on Mcgeady for the RW.

Going to put up 3 biggish each way shots today.
ROCKLANDER 2.10 (14/ 1)
CLONDAW WARRIOR 3.30 (16/ 1)
THOMAS CRAPPER 4.10 (12/ 1)
All 3 have been around Cheltenham before, as usual bet only what you can afford and bet with bookies offering extra places.

Tim, I got 2 tips from a friend of mine who is over there and has a small interest in a couple of horses, non of them good enough to run at Cheltenham.
The first was Willoughby court, it won yesterday at 14/ 1.I was out and did not get the message until too late. The other one is Rockgone, running in the 4 10,it is 28/ 1,so I am going to do a mugs ew double with your Rocklander, and if it comes in will buy you a pint somewhere in the Bahamas next week.

My brother in law owns a horse that's running at Cheltenham today. His son is the jockey.

The horse is called Anseanachai Cliste. 16:10 James's Place Foxhunter Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase.

His attitude is simple, he doesn't give tips because he says he doesn't want to be responsible for anyone losing money! HH.

Ed is this role of conger tons the same one held by John park?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - I'd say no bud, Park took on more a DOF role over the last few years. Park and Lawwell held the power over practically all footballing matters and now people are sticking to their specific jobs which will be better for the Club in the long term.
A lot of the things Rodgers is sorting out is the same things Ronny Deila wanted and was blocked from implementing, all of a sudden building an airdome is needed, RD asked for one from the minute he walked in the door.}

16 Mar 2017 07:50:13
RD had some good innovative ideas which were not applied. RD (in my opinion) was just not strong enough and having Collins forced on him as assistant - and accepting it- was the first sign of weakness from day one.
I thought it from the beginning but warmed to him as time went on. My biggest criticism of RD was that he never had a plan B if plan A failed on the park. His plan B was basically plan A but with a couple of player changes.
