Not looking good for Griff at all. Lenny has absolutely slaughtered him about his fitness and being overweight. Said he's let himself and the club down. Also said he need to stop all the social media nonsesne.

"If he wants to have a future at this club it's down to himself.

We're not prepared to do a lot more for him. Everything is there for him. He's let himself down and he's let us down.

You can never say never about chances but he's got a lot to do to get back in around it.

The ball is firmly in his court and it shouldn't have come to this. He shouldn't have been out of condition and he shouldn't have been heavier"

I love Griff as most will know but I've got to side with Lenny on this. Think he'll struggle to get in the squad now and can see us liking to get a replacement in.

{Ed007's Note - Hands up from me, I called that wrong as I had been told LG was injured but Lennon also mentioned he was picking up injuries because he was out of shape - so feck it we were all right about him lol.}

16 Jul 2020 23:05:28
Haha the mighty 007 was wrong 😂 fair do's for holding the hands up big stuff.

{Ed007's Note - 😁

Reading the interview from Lennon personally I think there is no way back for him.

16 Jul 2020 23:16:18
Hes got to be in the last chance saloon now eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 23:20:28
He's done at celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 00:08:17
He'll be at celtic for at least 5 years and score at least another 100 goals some don't need to be super fit to produce and griff is one.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 06:58:49
After reading Lennons quotes it looks like griffiths has went to far this time. The club, the support in the main have stuck by griffiths this past year and a half, it’s now time for him to give back and do what he does best and what the club pay him to do, unfortunately it looks like he doesn’t give a rubbish and thinks he can do as he pleases. It’s so sad to see as a fit griffiths is a major asset to the team but he seems hell bent on ruining what years he has left as a pro.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 07:06:14
Nonsense Jake he’s a chancer and should be shown the door.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 07:37:10
Said I would come on and apologise if it turned out I was wrong for having a go at Griffiths, and I wished I was! For me he’s done at our club! Shocking going into a 10iar season and he’s come back overweight and unfit! Then when lennon tells him to get in shape and stay off social media he goes and does the exact opposite! He’s finished in my eyes. the club and fans have been magnificent with him and like I said the other day, he’s shat all over that! Very disappointed is an understatement!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 08:30:32
Jake if that was true why is he bombed out the squad now for being unfit? Why did lennon spend a good bit of last season saying even though he was back in training he wasn't fit enough to play?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 10:04:15
Jake that's the exact opposite of the snessage Lennon has just sent! He is clearly on his last chance. There is no room for any one not to be 💯 fit with the way we play. Let's hope he gets his rubbish in order.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2020 10:51:23
Going into such a important season knowing that we get negative stories about us anyway you would of thought being a senior player he would be leading from the front on behaviour and attitude, needless negative story caused by him. He got backed before and the support appeared to be amazing what a kick in the balls for lenny and the coaches not to mention team mate, i like griff but i think its time to get rid and bring in a player that has the drive and hunger to want to succeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 23:15:10
Ed he mentions that when Griff was told to do fitness work during lockdown he said he couldn’t as he was injured. That doesn’t sound great to me. Sounds like a poor attitude on Griffs part.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 23:38:14
Fair play ed, we all side with the club and players . Called supporting through thick n thin . This sheds new light and think there is no way back now for griff. A know the boy has mental problems, we all know or have had them ourselves and know the struggles . Its a shame and its a problem in society that needs addressing . Footballers are not immune. A hope he recovers and sorts his life out, but over his entire career its excuse after excuse. Time to cut him loose .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I did have a chuckle to myself reading Lennon's comments about social media. He should know the pitfalls of social media after all considering the Club ordered Lennon to leave them after he was caught being a sleazebag towards young women on Twitter - just before he threw Alan Thompson under the bus.}

17 Jul 2020 13:22:24
The magnitude of the season coming up we've no time for passengers if they don't put the effort in then they shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 19:20:16
This might be a bit controversial but I would put wee dembele out on loan this season. Get him serious game time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - You can't loan out under 18's, Kev.}

16 Jul 2020 19:33:45
We should be playing him.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 20:15:53
He needs to spend more time with the first team squad and build his confidence; maybe training with and watching Frimpong for example?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 21:31:56
He is not ready yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 21:42:11
CM he's been doing that since he was 14 or 15. that's a shame ed because he ain't going to get serious game time this season unless a real bad injury crisis.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He might get more than you think, Kev, his contract is up next summer and I've no doubt there will be plenty of interest in him, the best way to keep him happy would be giving him game time.}

16 Jul 2020 21:50:10
ed are the coaching staff happy with the way he is progressing?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes, Liam and he seems to be a level headed kid which is a good thing - remember Islam Feruz?}

16 Jul 2020 21:55:07
What about young Okoflex is he anywhere near ready for the first team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think so this season unless it's the odd sub appearance or a cup tie.}

16 Jul 2020 22:20:07
It would be a real shame to lose him but we've done it plenty of times with youngsters from other clubs, I've been worried since he started training with engurland. He must've heard stories of untold wealth.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 22:54:28
That's good to hear about his attitude his ability is there and more. the kid needs his chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 👍

16 Jul 2020 22:57:30
Regarding feruz. it just shows what a stinking attitude does for you. the boy wasted a his chance at making it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Definitely, Liam, I don't think he's had a club for about 3 years or so. Everybody knows somebody that blew it BIG time, I know a few but the biggest waste was wee JP McBride. What a player he should have been! Even Tommy Burns couldn't get through to him.}

16 Jul 2020 23:12:47
Agreed. to much buckie.

16 Jul 2020 23:20:58
boy fae my neck of the woods. Scored on his debut for a lower league professional team at 16. Banged them in left right and centre. Got a move down south and had the likes of Aberdeen bid for him. Went down there got the sack even though they paid a good fee for him. Came up round signed for a spl team and made a mess of that tae. Was getting good money to play junior and made a mess of that as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 23:43:21
Went to st Peters with jp. Knew his grandad who stayed up eddlewood. Can't mind the old guys name but he spoke of jp's cousins fae Westwood who done the boxing? Total gentleman. Jp was just a typical fairhill boy who got caught up running the schemes n streets . A waste of talent but back then it wasn't agents calling the shots.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 23:22:33
Was that the keeper ed? A can mind him bein on the bench a lot in the late 90's.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No, JP was a CM/CAM mate, he mate a handful of appearances for the first team before moving to St Johnstone and then Derry City via a time in Denmark. He finished up bouncing about the lower leagues and the amateurs.
You can take the Bhoy out of Fairhill but you can't take Fairhill out the Bhoy.}

16 Jul 2020 14:32:05
Hi all, hope you're all keeping well. Anyway after my self imposed C.V. fatigued exile I have watched a few Arsenal games with KT playjng and come to the conclusion 25 million was way too cheap.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2020 17:02:26
I know he's getting a lot of plaudits at the minute but I really don't think he's up to speed yet he looks like he's short on confidence going forward very rarely takes on his man or drives to the byline concentrating more on his defensive duties I thought he marshalled Salah really well last night though.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2020 20:22:17
He's clearly still adapting to a new manager, team-mates and systems and also has a couple of bomb-scares at the heart of their defense. I'm will come on leaps and bounds with a long run of games. however, to be dead balls honest I'm more interested in our defensive needs.

16 Jul 2020 14:10:17
Just had a look at the training video which says it's before the Nice game.
3 observations from it.

1/ Elhamed was playing in a bounce game and lasted more than 5 seconds without pulling up.

2/ Wee Dembele looks the part.

3/ Who are the keepers being tested? One looks like Bain, another like Doohan. and the third looks awfully like big Fraz.

Hazard. He's some size too.

16 Jul 2020 13:29:40
With Forster looking unlikely many are moaning if we turn to jo Hart. The guys got loads of experience at the top level. When we signed C. Gordon most weren't happy but look how that turned out. Lawell will like the deal as no transfer fee involved. I Ed what wage do you think Hart is on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - £60k - £80k a week.}

16 Jul 2020 14:01:36
Really think we should do better than Joe Hart. Although Griffiths could practice his free kicks against him and get his confidence up.

16 Jul 2020 14:09:52
Yeah, he has loads of experience, mostly making clangers and selling hair products.

Looking forward to the game know it’s a friendly but will be interesting to see the set up and too see if there is a wee surprise or too late n there for the season ahead. I saw I training clip of am right Soro I think looked to have a good peace of close control when in a tight area of the pitch will see tonight hopefully HH.

Ed my friend do you think someone will be brought in to challenge for Forrest place? The wee fella is a cracking player in Enricos eyes but I think he could get even better again if someone was breathing down his neck for his place you know? Like when Roberts was still at paradise.

Enrico ponders who could come in.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - If we're playing 3-5-2 it will be between Forrest and Frimpong to play as the RWB but if we go with 4-2-3-1 or similar what about young Dembele as Forrest's understudy. We could even play Frimpong further forward as a winger if Elhamed can stay fit.}

19 Jul 2020 10:23:46
Many thanks Ed Enrico is happy about young dembele getting more playing time this season.

Obviously looking forward to the new season - with hopefully some new talent and supporters inside Paradise Not looking forward to SLY and their Sevco-slanted opinions and summaries; All we need to do is fully focus on performances, consistency and carry on the momentum of last 9 years.
PS: Really dreading the introduction of VAR if/ when it's decided going by the controversy and fury it is causing down south. Imagine every crucial decision going to a panel of the 'Honest Mistake Mafia' ha ha.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2020 11:08:58
Dont worry our game doesn't have the dosh for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The thing is that the Pub League aren't using VAR the way FIFA/IFAB want it implemented and so they have stepped in to take control to ensure that VAR will be a standard system across the board.}

16 Jul 2020 12:05:57
They've made a pigs ear of it ed there's more bad decisions than good.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Or have they? There's plenty of people out there and a good few websites that think the Pub League is rigged to help Asian betting syndicates. A quick Google will show you it's a murky world mate and believe it or not John Colquhoun seems to be right in the middle of it.}

16 Jul 2020 21:57:38
Why am I not surprised. Money breeds greed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - According to some Leicester City winning the Pub League one of the biggest fixes in sporting history.}

16 Jul 2020 22:23:24
Funnily enough that was the first thought that came to me. It shouldn't have been close to possible. I wonder how much the bookies got hit for.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You'll probably never find that out, especially betting on the Asian markets. There's supposedly people involved at all levels of football including players and refs.}

16 Jul 2020 23:23:54
Enough to make u want to chuck it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know if it's ALL true, Steph but there's no smoke without fire and know enough to suspect serious skullduggery which is one of the reasons I think betting is a mug's game.}

That Billy Connolly song, "Sergeant where's mine ", comes to mind, when I read about these Irish army soldiers suing the Irish government after getting ambushed on a united nations patrol in Lebanon/ Syria, I hope they win.
