I think it's going to be deadline deals for us Bhoys. Not happy as fresh blood is needed now not when we may have lost points.

Richybhoy

Believable1 Unbelievable5

We need a big striker, even if we don't get anyone, don't think it'll be a disaster.

I also heard the other day that we approached Hibs for Fletcher a couple of years ago, only for Hibs to refuse to speak to us!

Miko x

Agree0 Disagree1

We could of got him if we (the board) wanted him no question bout it
tt88

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe pal, however I was thinking along the lines that Hibs knew they were going to be dealing with a Premiership outfit, so why would they even entertain Celtic?

Miko x

Agree0 Disagree0

Scenario, what happens ghod forbid if stokes or hooper pick up an injury, with bangura not even in contention, rasmussen sin died, who slots in? A striker is needed as sammi won't chip in with many goals . Defo need a goalscorer in this window. Need to win this league. If budgeting miserly , what about tade from caley? Always cause probs, big powerful, cheap, roasted gers defence and Wallace recently, be decent back up if not wanting to spend much

Agree3 Disagree1

Heard from a great source a while back that Celtic matched any offer Hibs got for Fletcher. Hibs refused to sell to us as they had lost players such as Brown,Caldwell,Riordan,Thompson,Whittaker etc to us and the darkside and felt they couldnt sell us any more of their players at that time even though he was desperate to come as at that time we were still competitive in CL

Anyone listen to the Clyde 1 football phone-in?

For years I've wondered what Hugh Keevins' agenda is. My perception of Hugh isn't exactly complimentary, so I'll refrain from divulging, however, why does he behave so appallingly bad over the airwaves?

Can't he see that his manner across the airwaves is confrontational or is this a ploy to keep listeners tuned in? This is my theory, or is he just miserable? lol

Miko {Ed007's Note - It is his character to keep listeners and wind people up to get them calling in. He isn't as bad as that in real life.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's what I thought Ed, he's playin a dangerous game though!

Miko {Ed007's Note - I gave up listening to it ages ago. I can't understand why CFC fans continue to phone in, or Rangers fans for that matter. If they stopped phoning in there would be no show. As long as fans keep biting though they are doing their job well, that is all it is to them a job, so they need callers to keep their job.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot were a disgrace on the radio tonight, Keevins was right to say what he said.

Celtic fans that think that Celtic would be better off without gers are so thick - the s*y contract is based on the old firm both being in the league! Also, I'm a gers fan and tbh I only pay my season book so I am guaranteed a Celtic ticket! It's the best game in Scotland and what we all want to see, you season ticket sales would half with no OF match! {Ed007's Note - Another person that has seen the contract with S*y I take it? Do you have a copy you can send me because it seems every Rangers fan got sent a copy of it? How can a TV company demand what teams are in a league? Think about it.}

Agree0 Disagree3

Like you, i think everyone has issues with keevins. he sounds like a real t**t on the radio, and looks like he's always wanting to stir it up

but....i saw him speak at a sportsmans dinner in the celtic club in irvine, and he was fantastic, totally different from what you get on clyde. in fact, he got a standing ovasion when he was done {Ed007's Note - Exactly. He is a caricature of himself on the radio.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Aye, exactly! What if Rangers get relegated, can S*y terminate the contract on that basis? Answer me that bluenose!

....oh, and it's not "our lot" that's referred to as Scotland's Shame! lol

Miko

Agree3 Disagree0

I would love a statement from celtic re the rangers/tv deal situation stating we would not agree to automatic re-entry to spl if they go into liquidation(fingers crossed).keevins slating celtic fans for wishing this is out of order(we all remember the hearse hugh)what clubs fans wouldnt love to see their biggest rivals de-funct n having to start again.its called "schadenfreude" wonder if he is familiar with the term.green jjhedi {Ed007's Note - Expect a mass of Googling for that one!!!!}

Agree1 Disagree0

To the Rangers fan who only buys a ticket so he can go to the two Celtic games. Give up your ticket mate (cost £500). Just buy two hospitality packages for the Celtic games at £125 each and save youself £250.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just as I thought, he's an imposter, a fake!

It's one thing to stimulate debate, however to do so by masquerading with several faces is dishonest and sullies his profession as a journalist.

One of these days some moron with no sense will banjo the old crooner! lol

Miko x

Agree0 Disagree0

Got it, that's a belter GJ!

Schadenfreude (German:) is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.

Miko x {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

There are things such as "conditions" to a contract. SKY have stated that bpoth OF teams must be in the SPL or they will review the contract - this is the only reason they pay so I seriously doubt they will offer anywhere near the £80m it is now. Without the Old Firm derby Scottish football will die.

Anyway, if you dont want to let Gers back as a new club then fine, we will be back in a few years pumping uz as we have always done as the most sucessful team in Scotland.

WATP
J {Ed007's Note - Where have S*y stated this? The details of the contract have never been released and remember Rangers fans don't believe what it says in the press unless it suits their own ideas. Warchest? Wealth off the radar? Frontloading? They were all made up stories as well, weren't they? Just like the details of the S*y deal that nobody has seen. I was told that part of the deal was that Rangers had to guarantee their long term financial stability, now that could be a nasty lawsuit if Rangers break the contract with S*y.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Jesus Ed, that sounds pretty good! Doubt you'll hear from that walloper again - Job Done!

Miko x {Ed007's Note - If S*y demanded that both clubs need to be in the SPL or they want four derby matches a season it is tantamount to match rigging. How can you guarantee that you will have four derby matches when the league splits? I know it is hard to imagine but there is always a possibility that one of the teams could finish in the bottom six. Complete nonsense IMO. We won't be hearing from him for a while anyway, he is on an imposed sabbatical for breaking site rules in another post he sent in.}

Agree2 Disagree0

As I've always maintained, Rankers will not go down, nor would I want that. It seems to me that all the bluenoses are paranoid in this respect, we welcome a weaker Rangers over the next decade, for obvious reasons, no more than that.

Bragging rights and league winners for the next decade would be nice for us. No more Old Firm games is unthinkable!

Miko x {Ed007's Note - I have said all along that administration is a distinct possibility, I don't think liquidation will ever happen.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd go a step further big cheese and say that administration is almost inevitable! Anyways, bedtime for bonzo! Laters Ed!

Miko {Ed007's Note - Night Miko. Keep it mental mate!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right ed,no chance of liquidation its admin all the way.the letters to the players exempting them from future payments is the smoking gun! bain n the previous knew this so you must assume whyte did too.so why buy them? said before ellis n betts lurking in the shadows are property developers(G51 maybie?) so that might be a clue, green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Part of the takeover agreement was Whyte taking over responsibility for the 'wee tax case', he has now appealed this as well which is very strange.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I listen.

As for Keevins he's a condescending p---k but nonetheless is entertaining and does it just for a wind-up most of the time.

At least 1 call in 3 or 4 is made by a knuckledragger taking the bait or calling up with something utterly ridiculous to say...can't really blame the guy for giving off.

The thing I hate most about Keevins though is his poor judgement in general. First off he makes statements that he almost states as fact and people that disagree are shot down, often without a chance to explain (yet uses the "just my/your opinion" card excessively). Second, from an entertainment perspective, he often lets people drag on and on with irrelevent drivel before making their (often crap) point while others he jumps on almost immediately. I wish he was better at spotting the ones with added on drivel and shoot them down just to stop them wasting everyone's time. Being sad enough to call the show 3/6 nights shouldn't excuse them from a bit of ear-d--k from Keevins.

ed .. i know this might be a touchy subject but .. if they lose the tax case to hmrc would the police or the proculator fiscal not be seeking to press charges on tax evaison? {Ed007's Note - Tax avoidance is legal (although HMRC still get their money), tax evasion is illegal. They are two different accusations. Until the findings of the hearing it is not known which category they will fall into, some say they may have 'smudged' the line between the two.}

Celtic should act now , Jorge Claros on a free transfer must be worth signing , with Kayal out for the season we could do with a tough tackling holding mid-field player , we should not be letting Rangers take him , also if we are not going to sign Hamdi Salihi or Jerry Bengtson who are available for buttons we run the risk of letting Rangers off the hook again , come on Mssrs Desmond , Lawwell and Lennon don't leave it to chance , get the 2 or 3 players in that we need to win us the title , because if you don't and we lose the league all 3 of you should leave the club immediately , you 3 hold the key and must do the right thing by the fans , you can't rely on Rangers slipping up . {Ed007's Note - I think you will be disappointed if you are expecting another 2/3 players to be brought in.}

Was watching the Freddie Flintoff programme about depression in sport today whilst I was on a break at college and I noticed Lennon said if one of his players were to come to him with it he'd tell them to take as much time as they needed off. Don't know about you but maybe this explains the Commons situation? Just a thought. Hope not, it's a sad state for anybody to get in but it could explain alot of things?

Greg {Ed007's Note - I don't think we should speculate over someone's mental health Greg.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

As a Psychiatric Nurse i have to agree with Ed, Lennon has came out and openly discussed his battle with depression.

Lennon appreciates how difficult it is to get up in the morning never mind play football. Depression is something that affects millions in this country, and many are stigmatised for suffering from it.

I also congratulate the BBC for bringing up this topic.

To be fair Greg, Commons form could have been affected by his mood, but if it were down to his mental health Lenny wouldn't have spoken as much about it.

Iv been saying to my wee bhoy for a while now that the one guy that we don't have any back up for and the guy that gives us that spark in the last third is James forrest. I think NL admitted that we missed him against united. I honestly don't think we need a cb now, the defence has changed my mind with there performances, we also have options and backup in the striker department. If we are going to invest this window, i think it needs to be a creative midfield player. What if forrest gets a bad injury? We will struggle I think. And please don't say paddy, he's not consistent enough. Markiebhoy.

Have celtic any coherent transfer policy this January?

We seem to be waiting for Rangers to either sell or buy before we make our move. We stalled a few years back with the fletcher saga in January and ended up with Wilo Flood!.

Lustig aside we should have had all our deals finalised by now. If we wait until the end of January then by the time a player settles in we're lucky if we get three months of the season from him.

Our goals from midfield have dried up and if Hooper or Stokes get injured we have no goal scorer. Unless we sign a big powerful goal scorer we could be left with egg on our faces come May time. It's time for the Celtic board to reward their loyal fans, speculate to accumulate, but for the love of God, no first teamers please.

Ed, any deals nearly finalised or is it mostly tabloid rubbish talk?.

Thanks,

Bad Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Better to take your time and get the right player(s) in than be rushed into deals when we really aren't that desperate for incomings.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I agree with most of your post mate, again it's hard to argue with 11 straight wins, but in many games I have seen, we take the initiative and control most of the game but we do not consolidate by putting the game to bed - by 3 0r 4 and the opposition will always get chances.
I have been on a few times re: lack of goals from midfield and depend on Hooper and Stokes far too much.
I like Ledley a lot and hoped he would be a key goal threat, but he has had to cover other positions and Brown, Ki and Kayal (when fit) do not chip in enough.
Many previous Hoops teams have enjoyed a fair quota from midfield, but I reckon we need more of a threat. Obviously Commons hit over a dozen last season and we are missing that now.
Maybe a tactical tweak or a new face could improve our goal threat in the run-in and finish teams off more effectively?

Ok Gents, with Rangers FTT(T) reconvening today I have some prices on the potential outcomes. Any takers?

Liquidation - Evens

Rangers to win the tax case - Infinity/1

Agree3 Disagree1

Lol ! Infinity to 1 lol like that

Win it or lose it they will need to pay something of some sort. Hmrc don't mess about anyone who's self employed wi tell you that. How much tho is another story. Remember hmrc have more power than anyone, they have access to ALL of rangers accounts so even if whyte claims he can't pay X million they will have his bank details in front of them & they will tell him how much & how long for. If they find out this month then jelavic will be off for a undisclosed fee.

The truth is only round the corner although the courts do have a habit of stringing things out, jury duty will show you that lol

Lenny {Ed007's Note - I would be surprised if the final outcome is truly known before March at the earliest.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I'll stick a pound on Rangers to win! If it comes in, I'll buy the club, sell on all assets at a premium and replace the whole squad with players from the Northern Irish League.

Then I'd sell the stadium naming rights to Armitage Shanks for 50p! The company may want to negotiate that rather over inflated price, however I would probably be open to that.

Murray Park, I'd donate to the Celtic Trust as a gesture of goodwill.

Then, I'd have the Pope bless the stadium to evict all demons within the structure. The Ibrox area would be regenerated, property prices would soar and there would be no oppression!

Minted! lol

really puttin a peice tag of 35mil for hooper. Cos he out scored carroll 2seasons ago it justifys that tag (although carrol aint worth that)Basically tryin to put him up with elite player {Ed007's Note - LMAO...an elite player!! Give your head a wobble mate, Carroll is very very far from elite.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Anyone with any sense, or even a hint of knowledge about the game knows that hooper isn't worth 35m. What NL has done is very clever, its telling other clubs to not bother there arse bidding for him, and if you do it will need to be a very substantial bid. If he does go (which i very much doubt) it will now problably be for a couple of mill more than he's worth..well done NL..Markiebhoy.

Agree1 Disagree0

By putting that tag on him aint gonna stop teams bidding for him, the board will eventually sell when they see bids coming in. Southampton reported to bid £6million he may go for about that.
