weemope69, don't blame the player. he gives his all when he dons the hoops. he may not be the most talented but neil trusted him. and that is good enough for me. i don't know the stats for when he plays but am sure it won't be to bad. keep the faith lads.

To be fair to Hayes he hasn't done anything wrong and is a valuable squad player, Boli gives me the fear more than Hayes ๐ฑ.
Agree2

16 Feb 2020 22:26:38
I've got to agree mope, if Boli isn't going to come good then we need another LB. Taylor is having some cracking games and some flat games. He was very poor against Kilmarnock but has had a couple of excellent showings. Hopefully it will be sorted in the summer.

17 Feb 2020 00:27:07
No. Hayes is ridiculously bad! End of. Constantly loses possession, when he tries to clear the ball it always lands at an opposition player's feet and his crossing is abysmal! The guy should be nowhere near this team and I nearly wrecked ma telly watching him today. No time for sentiment. Get rid!
Agree0

17 Feb 2020 00:31:09
Robroy he's rank rotten. Today's performance from Hayes was the worst I've watched from a Celtic player in many a year. This "he tries hard" mentally is baffling. I'd work my backside off if Celtic gave me a game- doesn't mean I'm good enough.
Agree1

17 Feb 2020 07:38:53
bigbubs, why do you not email lenny and tell him he is wrong. jonny would not have played yesterday if taylor wasn't injured, but to say it was the worst you have seen a celtic player in many a year is the worst comment i have seen in many a year. see rather than slate our players who, by the way have got us 10 points clear of the mob - get behind them.
Agree0

17 Feb 2020 09:28:30
I am not sticking up for him but I don't think you can judge any one in those conditions yesterday more so the wingers trying to cross the ball into the box.

17 Feb 2020 11:30:03
To be fair to Hayes he is not a full back nor a wing back and he is not good enough to play for us as a winger. At his age it is very hard for him to progress. I remember Jim Brogan playing in a number of positions for the great Jock Stein, not good enough to usurp the the first eleven but always gave 150% when he played never complain or threw his dummy out the window, always did what he was asked and I think JH is in the same bracket would died for the club what more can you ask from some pplayers.

Robroy email Lennon. Aye I'm sure he'd respond. Stand by what I said as a season holder going back decades. Worst player I've seen in a Celtic jersey in many a year. Aberdeen fans must be wondering what happened to their star player. I can't criticise a player? Are you Andy in disguise?
Agree0

17 Feb 2020 23:25:17
bigbubs, the email comment was tongue in cheek. and yes its a free country to criticise but if you wear the hoops then get behind the player. ok he is not the most talented but plays his heart out and his goal agaist the manky mob put that lot back in there box. as for andy comment don't know him and am sure edd will confirm this if you need it. keep the faith mate. hail hail.

18 Feb 2020 07:35:32
The Andy comment was also tongue in cheek mate. As I said above I'm a season ticket holder and back the team every game and I've witnessed some woeful players I'm that time. Hayes wouldn't have looked amiss in Mowbray's squad. I get he puts his heart into everything he does but he's simply not Celtic quality. No shame in it but it's a step up he can't handle.

We should enjoy the success and domination as and when it comes and not before. NL has - quite rightly -drummed it into the players that there is still a lot of football to be played and games to be won.
It's one of the most historical periods in the clubs history and it should be appreciated, applauded and celebrated - at the proper time.

Agreed chris. Celebrating too early is potentially dangerous. We're 10 points clear but we still have potentially 33 more to play for (36 for the Sevvies with their game in hand) so it's far from over.
We're in a much better position than we were 5 or 6 weeks ago and it's great to see but as far the league being over is concerned, it isn't yet. HH.

Would happily take winning ugly till the end of the season. We had a tough run of fixtures and came through them all. We have a much stronger pool than them and to have guys like Rogic, Elyanoussi and Chistie on bench is incredible. Only slight concern is new signings can't make bench. Early days granted, but for that outlay would have thought they must have been bought to feature in squad b4 too long.

That was the hardest match and the biggest result since the winter break against a very difficult opponent AND Hurricane Dennis.
They handled the conditions and our initial formation really well and although we got the early goal, we never managed to keep the ball - never mind dominate possession - and play the way we usually can.
I am absolutely delighted with the win, the manner the whole team battled for the 3 points and the way NL saw what needed to be done and changed it to a back four and switched several positions to regain control at a time when Aberdeen looked like they could take a point and dent our run.
That was a huge result Celts.

Ed Do you know how the post split fixtures are worked out?
Rangers will have played two home games and one away game against Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibs, Livingston and Motherwell (the current top 6) . Does that mean the fourth encounter will be away from home?
If so could it be possible Rangers will have four away games after the split.
If not they will have had an advantage over the season.

@JFP1888 and ED007 usually these fixtures are scheduled on a 3/ 2 ration home or away, no team would be asked or expected to play 4 away games. These post split fixtures always have one or more teams playing more away games but 3 away games is the max.

What a win! Make no mistake, that game has tied the ribbons on the cup. Every season we grind out a result against the run of play, with an unexpected hero popping up with a goal. Last season it was Brown against Killie, today it was Ajer against Aberdeen. To come away with all the points against a dogged team in shocking conditions is first class. The weather almost ruined the game. I watched my next door neighbour's dog try to take the same rubbish 3 times in that wind. We did the business anyway. Absolutely delighted!

I've said it on numerous occasions here and I'll say it again, for me Ajer is no centre back, he is crap in the air for someone so big, he loses his man in the box way too often for my liking, I would much rather see him in front of back four protecting them then using his skill on the ball to start attacks.

So much experience for a player of his age and he's still growing into the CB role.
