At lot of fans and a Club at Govan have fell hook, line and sinker for Peter Lawwell's tongue-in-cheek reply to a totally irrelevant question at Celtic's AGM.

What the Govan Club do now is also irrelevant but a lot of Celtic fans seem to have fallen for Lawwell's major distraction tactic from other matters raised at the AGM - the Living Wage and the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act to name two!

Take a bow Peter

Good evening to you Mrs E.
That is a very good point you raise, I did think that was a bit out if character for him to poke fun at the unwashed during our AGM, and now having read your post I realise why he did it.
Hail hail

This is why guys like Peter Lawwell are good at what they do I reckon WTB.

I know at an AGM not everyone is going to be happy with what they hear or agree on everything but the main talking point of Celtic's is now this!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Mrs E - the tongue in cheek comment has not only got up the noses of them across the road but (from the previous comments posted below) has pandered to those posters who pretend not to be interested in that lot whilst deflecting from the issues you refer to at the same time.

Maybe his jibe was designed to appease the requisitionists who wanted us to report the SFA to EUFA?

Poor show Peter Lawell on S(evco)TV sport not hammering home the point of the Rory Bremner comment and putting them straight once and for all.
Also see the shareholders 'Rangers Question' motion was shot down by the board - although this was expected - why do Celtic still bend the knee to these imposters and the journalists that protect them?
There is an old club/new club scenario and it should not be covered up or danced around any longer.
Name them RIFC 2012 and no more lies and deceit.

Our board on the whole is a total disappointment especially when they opposed the calls for a decent living wage for employees and the Oldco debate . Our chairman couldn't even be arsed turning up for the meeting . Do they actually care what the fans think . I seriously doubt it . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

JJ It's all about the money mate, I believe under Mc Cann or Kelly Celtic would have worked to get this sorted once and for all.Let's face it when they come back, we will be there to see them. How good will it be to sing are you Rangers in disguise LOL

Sevco = Rory Bremner (no offence Rory). Only mimicking pretenders.
The great Pretenders.
Haw haw

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For the poor Sevconians, and in the words of Nat King Cole.

Pretend you're happy when you're blue
It isn't very hard to do
And you'll find happiness without an end
Whenever you pretend

Remember anyone can dream
And nothing's bad as it may seem
The little things you haven't got
Could be a lot if you pretend

"I think there is tremendous romance and expectation about Celtic Football Club. I think we put smiles on people's faces everywhere and in every continent of the world.

"I think we have a tremendous attitude to life, I think we have humour, I think we have a sense of social responsibility, I think we have great people in here, I think we have the best fans in the world bar none and I think the combination of that is unstoppable.

"I think the momentum that we have built over the last three to five years is powerful. I think if we get lady luck on our side and we meet with more success on the field, because it is all about football success, if we can do that and continue the way we are going we will be nothing short of unstoppable."

Peter Lawwell, Celtic FC AGM, Glasgow 2013.

A see on the news there the zombie rangers are making a complaint to the SPFL about PL for saying Rory bremner can pretend to be tony Blair, when he was asked about the zombie situation

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfect. Now we can do what needs to be done, namely prove once and for all that the daywalkers are a new club.

The SFA will now have to come out and state their position on this question. If they state that there is a case to answer then they clearly believe they are the same club.

If they go down this route then we should take this to the very top and expose this charade. Mr lawwell has, and continues to do so, performed exceptionally well.I believe he and the club are well respected in European circles. By finally ending this same club lie he would show that we really are on the same page

Agree0 Disagree0

GreenJedhi Do you think it was a ploy by PL to get this on the agenda. Think what will happen if the S.F.A. take him to task on this.Magic

@tambhoy: What I do think is that Lawwell is vastly experienced in these situations, do you think he is the type of guy who says things without thinking? Me neither mate!

Here's hoping Sevco do pursue this because it will end in tears for them. The knock on effect of which could see them off for ever.

In agreement with some of the lads I think Tony needs to sort it out he has to remember he is representing Celtic as well as himself in this loan spell . I don't think however he can himself so I've created a three step program for the wee guy. 1) Buy him the Fergie biography audio book narrated by the man himself, a plug in hair dryer and sit next tae a noisy bad tempered wean and pack him on a bus fae Belgium through France and Spain to mull it over. 2) Fly him out with Bez to meet up with the Tenerife celts making sure the Manic Manc drags him into deep water- get the partying youth out his system with the best the tenerife winter season has to offer, sending him tee-total. 3) Finnish with a spell in a Tibetan monastery, iron oot the temper- get his napper shaved, the works. Hopefully the wee baldy banger will be bangin in the goals when we bring him back in January. (possibility for some new tunes with his new lightbulb heed and aw?)

Admittedly I've had a bit of bother trying to acquire my coaching badges in recent months. I don't get further than the local coaching academy reception these days. rglen8

Danny McGrain should have played him at 'show us your medals'. A universally recognised best full back in the world v a jumped up lucky boy who seems to like living off one goal

Morning Ed007, the celtic agm should be interesting, maybe pl had info on the craig white situation and was reluctant to bring it to celtics door, we might find out soon enough and on joe ledleys contract, if we can't give him the dosh he's looking for let him go, simple .The chinese boy might be a ready made replacement, imo we need a more technical player in there, mathews, mcgeoch, kayal mulgrew, biton and any one of the younger sqaud could step in to replace ledley, creativity in midfield and through the middle upfront and we're sorted . Toodles.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A bit like Sammy, Commons and Hooper, his contract is up for renewal so starts playing and scores a couple. He's not CL quality and should be replaced with better. No offer to him please, we need to improve on his level of contribution and freshen it up. If we can't let him go, who the heck can be released?

Agree0 Disagree0

I like joe took me a while to see what he brings to the side and was pointed out his finer points(by plenty on this site) but I do agree no player should hold this club to ransom and any club after us is a step down if only for raw emotion and passion also agree we're crying out for some creativity in the middle

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
When I look over to ibrox, well it looks all cold and grey
Oh jingle bells, jingle bells jingle all the way
What will happen to the zombies when they have nowhere to stay
Craig white's took the dough and now he's run away
And it looks like your licence gone from the sfa
Oh jingle bells

With the news that Craig white is involved in sevco, it is time for a similar call to arms by all fans of all clubs to pressure their clubs boards to force the sfa to act.it was great to see fans up and down the country stand together 18 months ago to try to keep some integrity in the game.they were sold short by the infamous 5 way agreement.now this agreement has been breached it is time to act again.sevco licence must be revoked for Scottish football to have any credibility .spread the word make it happen our day has come.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed.
People have had so much of it and continuous laughs but the serious issue is we have a bent governance system where geezers think they can dream up their own compromises and chuck rule books in the bin. They expect the fan sheep to bleat and go along with it.
"Trust me it's in the best interests of the game" and I'm suspicious PL is heavily involved in allowing this crap get through, happy for Ogilvie and Regan to take the blame.
I believe if Celtic FC took a stronger position with the SFA a lot of the unbelievable sevco rule breaking would not have been allowed.
Any five way agreement had PL involved.
