McInnes to stay with the Sheep 🐑. Good news for young Christie. Hail Hail.

I thought he would be off to be honest, a chance to manage a fair sized club and probably a lot more money, especially after losing a couple of key players. He obviously believes he can strengthen and still make second despite the influx of world class Brazilian speakers at Ibrox. Maybe he doesn't rate their signings.

Must admit i like the look of Morales from Helsinki. 47 goals in 65 games. No matter where you play that is a good return. Think Rangers will make a fight of it next season.

It is a good record you have to say and he can't be accused of not being able to hack a Scottish Winter having played in Finland, though the general standard is not as high and it is a less physical league than in Scotland. As for making a fight of it, I just don't see it. Even if they improve their points tally by 15 and we get 15 less points we still win with room to spare. Making a prediction I would say that some of these players will show flashes of quality but be too inconsistent over the season to make a real fist of it.

{Ed007's Note - Their new signing might well improve them and I think they might push Hibs for 3rd now but there's still a long way to go in this window and Lennon will make some shrewd signings before it closes.}

15 Jun 2017 23:59:09
Since Lennon seems to be rebuilding Celtic 2012 at Hibs maybe Hooper and Ledley might fancy Easter Road. Where is Tony Watt now actually? Samaras?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Tony Watt's launched his own movie review website!}

16 Jun 2017 00:20:54
I had to look that up and so he has. He no doubt has the potential to be a brilliant film critic, but will probably only produce one outstanding review, think he's Barry Norman and then start writing crap. Or sign for Hibs and finally screw the nut.

{Ed007's Note - He'll end up on Big Brother.}

Rangers are facing into a season where a top 6 finish will be very difficult to attain .
They haven't got the future England Manager or a midfielder of the ability of Barton .
Last season they were hashing about 55 and idiots among Celtic support actually worried about them . I am pretty sure all these very average Mexican and Portuguese players will have disappeared as far as effective footballers are concerned long before the leaves fall off the trees.

Johnnymac the Columbian kid does look good but in years gone by there have been squads full of quality internationals at Ibrox and we've still won the league. They're going to need more than him to make a fist of it, assuming he manages to make the step up.

Dont think there is any danger of them winning the league but they will be a much more effevtive unit this season. Think its 2nd for them. I am more interested in what we can do in CL. Alvez is a goid digning and moralles will get goals so let's see.

They should be looking at second for sure as they are spending and the competition is losing key players, there are a few interesting ifs and buts about how 2nd to 6th will shape up now. Their signings will have to hit the ground running though as a bad start and the support will be foaming at the mouth, a hiding in Europe and the mutterings will begin. Cathro too has to have a good start, Lennon is under the least pressure as top six is probably the target he has been given in the first season back and I think they will be right up there in the mix.

I've never heard of these players that Sevco are signing so I'm not going to judge them till the season starts.
It's a bit hard to believe though that all the top clubs in Europe have somehow missed noticing all this hidden talent from the Portuguese and Mexican lower divisions.
We'll soon see if Brother Pedro is a managerial genius who has outfoxed everyone, or whether he is a dud who will be out of a job at Christmas.

Old Man Chris, where do you get Sevco will find it difficult to finish in 6th spot? Behave. They will improve from last season not go backwards.

Roberts, Hayes, and Flannigan, plus Gomes on the shopping list, all realistic targets, the rest of the money we got in the bank can go on new grass, the hotel and museum, and build up the south stand by another 10,000.

Not going to happen Regan82 I'm afraid, both Roberts and Gomez have been given assurances to feature pre-season in order to cement a place in their managers thoughts, however if city do get their intended signings in the Roberts will be sold to the highest bidder to soften the FFP rules, with Gomez he will be probably loaned to a lower tier PL club for experience. We can only hope BR and the board have some manic up their sleeves as they won't pay the PL going rate, if we had those players to sell we'd want big money ourselves, hopefully some unheard of gems can be captured from the poorer pockets of Europe and can mold then into celtic greats before eventually cashing in and looking at the next project, we only need to bide our time till young karamoko breaks through and single handedly destroys teams, or at least here's hoping.

Calm down guys, it's the best Celtic team we've had in years so let's enjoy it and let's see where we are when season starts.

Hayes may be "underwhelming" to some but he's the player that's gave us the most hassle domestically for the past couple seasons. Rodgers evidentially sees the potential he has and could quite possibly be a great signing. He's improved the squad by signing him. Maybe no the first team. But he's a far better player than GMS. Even if you like christie maybe he's not in Brendan's plans. I'm sure Christie prefers a central role. Let's see what Hayes can do before anyone judges. I'm still confident we will bring in a couple of big Name players that will Improve the squad without a doubt.

Hayes signing could be a real surprise to some.

Remember a similar signing of a near 30 year old, Barry Robson, which didn't turn out so bad.

Not the multi million buy we were hoping to start with but the window is still young.

Agree ken think he'll do fine especially domestically. and he's now starting get selected for ROI. young christie is a more central player and doesn't have the pace to play wide . plus he'll play every week up there. think hayes will do well remember this time last year scott sinclair was getting slated so let's trust brendan on this bhoys.

That's why I'm glad we have a manager and not the supporters managing the team.

Good points made by all. There clearly is talent there. Look at his return domestically playing in a team lesser than our own. Maybe Hayes just needs a better quality squad round him to really show what he is capable of. I bet he is a huge surprise to all.

Lots a people on here shouting about the biscuit tin mentality cause were signing guys like Hayes. People giving it that if he's been bought as paddy Roberts replacement it's a disgrace. Roberts I would love to see before Hayes but the fact of the matter is that wee paddy could be playing for a mid table prem team the now earning a far cry more than he would with us. No saying he's a money chaser or anything bit the boys got a right to look at other options after the service he's gave us for his loan spell. As for Hayes gee the boy a chance no even in the door yet and people are writing him off. Brendan obv knows his stuff and he's worked with the boy before so just gee it a chance. Realistically the only bomb of a signing Brendan made was big dolly de vries. Bigger signings are definitely on the way but just cause were no busting the bank doesn't mean these boys aren't good enough. Mousse dembele price tag any one?

Why could Celtic get moussa dembele so cheap.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jun 2017 22:55:40
Because he was playing under a different federation and he was 19 years old Celtic only had to pay a developement fee. If anyone from the same federation ie england they would need to have paid a transfer fee as requested by the selling club. Unusual to "nick" a player who was so good but fulham who owned his registration were asking millions for him and no one in England wanted to take a punt on him.
