A wee discussion for a Saturday night, if you could buy someone's history who would it be, including you Ed007 ?

For me it would be Elizabeth Taylor ~ the career, Richard Burton, the glamour..

Mrs E {Ed007's Note - John Lennon for me.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Lou Reed all day for me...............green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I saw The Velvet Underground play Edinburgh Playhouse back in the early 90's, it a couple of years before Sterling Morrison passed away, that was a fantastic night GJ.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Football : George Best . Music : David Bowie . Cinema : Errol Flynn.......DH {Ed007's Note - Football would be Roy Keane for me and films would be Ron Jeremy ;-)

Agree2 Disagree0

If you were Ron Jeremy Ed you wouldn't be bothered about football ....DH {Ed007's Note - You would still need a hobby.}

Agree2 Disagree1

And what a hobby to get involved LOL.....DH

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed, I will be in a bidding war with you for Roy Keane ~ Mrs E {Ed007's Note - I'm saying nothing!

Agree2 Disagree1

John Holmes. I would love to downsize..;)

Briggs

Agree11 Disagree1

Lou Reed! lol dunno what to think of that one GJ. Amazing musician yes, but if your talking about buying his history then the penchant for heroin and homosexual orgy's come with that.

Agree4 Disagree1

Roman Empire for me. 1,000 years of achievement. Conquering the Gauls, Germans, Dations, British, North Africans, Egyptians, Greeks, Turks, Syrians,...... Now there's an institution. How much for the History and achievements? Does it come with the overall goodwill?

Agree6 Disagree1

ED OO7; was at that gig myself mate. truly amazing. @7 Exactly my point mate what a life to experience.Not being a gay man that part means nothing to me but the early Factory years and the Berlin period must have been truly incredible..........green jhedi

Some comedy gold in the commentary of the Sevco game . " that goal from the self employed joiner has really unhinged Rangers " . " great touch from the PE teacher from Montrose Academy ".........DH

Sevconians ecstatic with their game today, remarking how enjoyable and exciting it was. Stating even the radio commentators thought it was good.
Really wonderful when new clubs break into SFL football and get their fans a big buzz.
Although their chirpy wee fat sparrow manager likes to puff up his feathers and sing too loud.

Agree5 Disagree0

And the Sevvies got their obligatory penalty when they were 1-0 down , Montrose hit the bar , the post and missed a sitter , nothing to write home about yet again .

So that all powerful football body,the ECA,have granted the rangers ASSOCIATE membership.The SFL have granted the rangers ASSOCIATE membership.In the case of the ECA,who replaced the G14 group of clubs,it seems this was a given as the oldco were founding members.Why all the celebrations down ibrox way? Like the SFL ASSOCIATE membership this seems to mean your here but have no voting rights.The G14,if i remember rightly,did a lot of sabre rattling and made some noise but were,in the main,ignored by UEFA. And why has chuckie,that lover of sound bites,not been trumpeting this from the top of ibrox? Maybe his new media director will handle this one. And on to the biggest suck up artist ever seen in Scottish football.Step up ally mccoist. Why would he castigate laffatme and nayclass but leave mcgregor and whittaker out of his ramblings? might it be that the fans dont seem to be pouring hatred towards these players? We know ally loves playing to the gallery to reinforce his"im a rangers man" credentials. He then cites the fact that he and durrant would never have done it.So,your a player with a family to support and a career to look after would you A; Stay on a 75% wage cut,with a club facing liquidation and not knowing what,if any,league you would be playing in next season,or would you B; Move LEGALLY in contract and employment law,pocket a signing on fee of around 5-700k and play in a better league on double the wages? One last question ally,if your this super ranger why did you choose to go to sunderland instead of rangers in your younger years?...........green jhedi

Believable12 Unbelievable2

ECA will review their position on new Rangers and the history claim when they get put right on Green's false statements/ propaganda. The result will be more crushing than if they hadn't said anything. ECA are in error and will need to put it right to underpin their own integrity.
New rangers were not the founding member club of ECA. That rangers is being liquidated. This rangers was founded in 2012.
New Rangers have never played in the SPL or Europe ergo have no history- lord Nimmo smith.
You can't buy a clubs sporting achievements. It's not included legally as goodwill. That's lies and ridiculous.

Agree8 Disagree1

@1; While i agree with you i just cant see the other clubs causing too much bother over this.They would in effect be chucking themselves out of their wee cosy group if the same fate befell them,turkeys/xmas springs to mind.Could anyone enlighten me as to chuckies statement which was "unclear on some details".thanks..........green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree3

Where's the link to this ECA quote anyway? I know they've given sevco associate status, which is below ordinary member, but where's the official statement on history?

Agree3 Disagree1

I seen the back of the Record 'it's your fault you can't come back here, live with it'

Ally's words on Naismith -

'I'm aware there's resentment out there but if you think i'm going to tell the fans they're wrong, then i'm sorry, I won't. I don't know if the players underestimated the resentment that might be shown to them'

At the time the players refused to transfer, Walter Smith did not trust Charles Green to the point he made a £6m offer to buy the club from him yet Naismith etc were expected to put their careers in CG's hands.. Ally didn't mind moving as no other team would have touched him as management.

Ally words on the transfer embargo judicial panel:-

Make no mistake about it,' said the Rangers manager. 'This panel is not totally to blame for the death of our football club if it happens, but this particular decision could kill our football club'

He also demanded to know the identities of the judicial panel that handed down the verdict, despite his club agreeing that their identities should remain private for fear of reprisals and the club already knowing their identities.

What is wrong with McCoist and Green ? They are here for no reason other than to incite hatred and take unsuspecting Rangers fans money.

Lets face it one couldn't manage Cambuslang Rangers and the other couldn't hold down the Chief Exec role at an English League One club. ~ Mrs E

Agree4 Disagree0

Ordinary membership can be given to clubs who are in the top league or have european licence, which clubs outside the top league dont apply for.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Mrs E; what really intrigues me is the plans post share issue. You can understand the posturing and pandering to the fans to sell shares but the figures dont seem to add up. What cannot be denied is there is a need for a cash injection,but why when they are a third division club? Greens numbers are somewhat debatable on the prospectus,i am taking a mates word for this as i have not read it, but this money will be long gone by the time rangers return to top flight football.What then? issue two; the sequel,just when you thought it was safe etc,etc............green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree0

GJ..On that TV newsnight show CG said it was to keep his promise that he would issue the shares this year and that he always keeps his promises. He said they need about £9m to renovate Ibrox for the Commonwealth games.

Remember promises like his phantom transfer targets, the 5 that were playing in Euro 2012 and I cannot wait for the promise that his team won't play in the SPL while he is there.

They have no players with any real sell on value and certainly not while they are in the SFL divisions.

Mrs E

Agree4 Disagree0

Do you no get money from organisers of commonwealth to do up stadium?

Agree1 Disagree0

@2) Green Jhedi think you're very wrong there mate. Clubs who are delivering within the financial solvency regulations just won't allow cheating by others. This history and claim on old clubs achievements is false and a form of cheating. Not paying NI, vat and PAYE all through 2011 and part 2012 was cheating, because other clubs were paying it.

Agree1 Disagree0

@9; I agree but with the world in a financial mess clubs with high debt will be worried if they might be next.We all know this ECA is a nonsense,a collection of clubs who try to scare UEFA but have never achieved their goals.My point was,i think they would rather be in the tent pi**ing out than outside dying for a pee..............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Went on uefa ranking website tried to click on rangers at no 88( using iPad)it wouldn't click on them went to fc Dnipro above them or Newcastle below them.does this not show that uefa don't recognise them either

Ed don't know if u watched it but Gerard butler was on the 1show tonight and had a dig at the forces of darkness saying if u want zombies for a movie there are loads of them in Glasgow lmfao {Ed007's Note - No I did not, I am having a PS3 night.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

D&P should have sold the assets separately to achieve maximum value for creditors.
Creditors have a higher priority than employees, so trying to safeguard a new rangers going forward was a very wrong thing to do. Not their role at all.

Agree7 Disagree2

D&P Selling the players would have saved oldco but their agenda was to totally liquidate and start a new club, which needed the players. Hopefully in spl. There was never an intention to go forward with oldco owing ticketus 5 years season ticket money.

Agree7 Disagree1

Ps3 is that that ditch team ed?
