With only 8 league games to play and with the possibility it could be wrapped up in 3 games it is ludicrous to talk about null and void. If it's got to be closed doors so be it, just get the games played. On another note if they did make the ridiculous decision to make league null and void hence back to going for 9, I'm not sure if Broony would get the opportunity to go for 10 as I think he was thinking of hanging the boots up at the end of next season.

I think it could be UEFA with maybe the help of FIFA who would make a decision on all football nations as a whole. One rule for all. It would then be taken out of the hands of the Sfa.

If they make the drastic decision of all leagues null and void then none of the clubs would receive any prize money. At the end of the day football is a business these days and I don’t think that will be allowed to happen.

UEFA meet on Tuesday to discuss what action they are to implement going forward. It would be a St. Patricks day bonus if we were crowned Champions on Tuesday.

It would be absolutely ludicrous if they decide all leagues to be null and void after so many games and points already accounted for.
The panic-button was pushed far too soon based on media hysteria and it would have been far more sensible to have players and officials declared fully fit and clear to participate behind closed-doors.
League games for the big clubs are almost covered by season tickets and the football authorities/ lottery cash could compensate others?
Awarding titles during unfinished seasons - no matter how the table stands is always going to cause controversy and doubt, so it would have been much more practical to figure out the fairest option, where the league titles at least (ignoring cups) could be finalized?

There no reason they couldn't play behind closed doors 2 teams and the backroom staff usntvexactky going to spread it any worse there will be more at the next Masonic/ ref meeting. plus it'll put an end to any conspiracy theories.

Aren't rangers fans funny? The vast majority of them seem to want the league made void and they say it is not mathematically impossible for them to win the league so we shouldn't get it. well if that is the case then why are they not screaming from the rooftops to keep the league going so they can do just that? They need huge cash injections so playing for that Champions League spot should be their priority - but no - they want a void competition. That position just screams that they have totally SURRENDERED their chances of winning it. If you genuinely thought you could win it then fight for it instead of pinning hopes on a virus to stop the competition early.

With the virus expected to continue to grow for an expected period of time it seems to me that in order to continue leagues across Europe then UEFA need to find the time to do it. Many great points been made on this but one I have not heard (and one I support) yet is the scrapping of all qualifying ties for both the CL and EC cups. To free up the possible congestion of fixtures simply increase the amount of leagues within each competition . For example instead of having 8 leagues of four in the CL simply have 16 leagues (or whatever) of 4 and have 2 teams from each league go through for a last 32. That, my friends would clear so many weeks of fixture issues at the start of next season.

If it drags on for many months and European and domestic football for season 19/ 20 becomes void. The results for that season would also be void and Scotland would lose that 2nd Champions league spot for 21/ 22 season. They should be careful what they wish for but then again I don’t think that would bother too many of them as long as Celtic don’t win the league this season.

Of course Sevco fans want the League cancelled by trying to claim they are still in the title race just like they claim titles that the old club cheated to win. Forget Sevco they are irrelevant and they know it. Infact they surrendered 8 years ago! Bottom line is I don't want awarded any title it would be like being awarded the cheated titles the old club won. I had a look at the SPFL league rules and there is nothing to cover this sort of scenario so therefore I wouldn't be comfortable with being awarded the title. If it were in the rules then fair enough no one could argue but it's not.
They only option to appease every club is to play behind closed doors ( I'm still going to work as normal so why can't the players go to their work? ) and move the Euro's to next summer otherwise there will be legal moves by clubs all across Europe as there's no way UEFA or individual National football authorities will be able to make decisions that will suit every club.
But back to Sevco, how long can they pay their players wages etc without the much needed income of gate reciepts?

Celtic have never lost 4 games out of 8 domestically in there history so why would it happen now. the authorities better watch this one if they did make it void if i was Pedro id pull out the league.

Can anyone tell me what the odds were on Celtic to win the league last week? What would an independent Bookmaker have given me if I had slapped £1k on the counter for Celtic to will the league just before the game at mordor? Timaloy can you help? (And no I don't have a spare £1k 🤣)

I think Celtic were 1/ 25 and Sevco were 12/ 1.

Sorry Markie the answer to the rest of your question is you would be risking your £1k to win £40 quid.

Thanks mate. I just wanted to see what chance the bookies were giving us to win the league as they are very rarely wrong. I wonder how many sevco fans would have bet on their team to actually win the league last week? Yet here they are shouting to avoid the league as they still had a chance to win it.

while i agree with most on here i wouldn't rule out a panel of so called experts the same as the pools panel, that way the season will end, i know not many would like the idea but it was used before.

BFKB is having palpitations at the thought we get the title. he's so bitter a wonder if he'd be saying the same if his beloved sevco were out of site total fud.

I can see the scottish cup being scrapped but they will find a way to finish the season. Probably go behind closed doors after few weeks then be Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday till it's done.

I can’t see the league being scrapped. I do agree the Scottish cup could be in danger. If and it’s a big IF games can’t be played until August we would finish off season 19/ 20 and then have a small gap to sort out who participates in what leagues and a fixture list for season 20/ 21.
We then have a 30 game season. All teams play each twice before the split and then the top and bottom 6 play each other home and away which would result in only a 30 game season and it would be fair because no team would have to visit a ground for a 3rd time in one season. The Spfl would be finished in time for the Euro’s which will be put back a year and then we can party all summer celebrating 10 In A Row. Simples. 👍.

behind closed doors till the split then review should have been initial reaction, all clubs could have streamed games, both teams staff oficials ballboys etc less than 100 people, all not using public transport, most pubs food outlets and cinemas in the land will have more than that through their doors today, so why hit football as hard,

14 Mar 2020 14:52:40
The Scottish cup has 2 games left surely they could be played behind closed doors.

Scott Brown picked up his 6th league booking against St. Mirren and the suspension would have kicked in 14 days later. Brown was due to miss the St. Johnstone game at home but now because of the delay he will miss our next league game. The only thing is I have not seen in the media that he is due this suspension.

What I was thinking is what happens to the players contracts? Imagine losing someone like eddy on a free? I know he's covered but that would cauz havoc with fans.

He's under contract so how would we lose him.

Hearts have 9 players out of contract in the summer.

Said I know he's covered, but like what buzz said, hearts could be looking at losing their best players before the season finishes.

Why don't they shut down those horses asses at SSN indefinitely as well? All sport is being either cancelled or postponed and all they are doing is what all the other 'germalists' are providing - a programme to have a contest to see how many times they can say corona virus in five minutes.
It's not what is says on the tin?

What crazy times we live in. No football for the forseeable future. Wtf are we to do, what will we talk about for the next 6 mths.
I for one am glad the club are in such a healthy position both medically and finacially.
There is always some good news when things are bad, there will be clubs looking to sell players come the summer to raise money. Also if we can see players like Calmac given a good break from the constant playing i can see us returning stronger and fresher just as we did after the winter break.

Cancelling events of large crowds is of course the right decision but why not play behind closed doors. As it stands no scottish based player has shown any symptoms and we're all still going to work interacting with other people. 🤔.
