Just a thought not really with the goings on at the club at the moment, but caught a bit of football asia on sly last night and saw naka still playing with yokohama marinos but playing in just behind the strikers, think we may have missed a beat with him playing out on the wing think he could have done much more damage in that role when he was here, just a though mind you ;)

@Delbhoy your jokes are from wee Pat's repertoire sailing close to the wind, my humour is more gentle. (most on here say WHAT HUMOUR)
But talking of "wives" you cannot win with them, my joke yesterday about the Wee Free minister went over Mrs T's head as usual, her reply "the Wee Free DO NOT SING HYMNS" trying to explain "poetic licence" to her about a joke is a non starter.

Aberdeen fan walking down the road with his face tripping him when he bumps into his mate.
His mate says " Archie, ffs what's wrong wi you?" Archie says "Och, fit like man - 4 weeks ago I got an accumulator up at the bookies and won £5000 for a one pound each way bet. Then 3 weeks ago my premium bond came up and I won £50000. 2 weeks ago I won the £1.5 million on the lottery. His mate says "Thats brilliant news, but why are ye so glum?"
Archie says "Och man - never won a thing this week"

Why don't you marry a woman you meet at the local laundry?
Because if she cannot afford a washing machine, how on earth is she going to be able to support you.

How do you lot think Aberdeen will fare next season? Unless something unexpected and dramatic happens, they obviously won't be winning the title, but do you think they'll be giving Celtic a good run for their money. Keeping in mind this is Mcinnes' first season and he had no/very little funds he's done a pretty good job. Will they and Dundee give the SPFL the kick up the back side it needs and some competition for celtic in the years to come?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think they will do well next season. They have had a good season so far and can see them building on that if they reach group stages of europa league.

Agree0 Disagree0

So the team that finishes above them are in an even better position? The 1 that gets major abuse from aspiring critics .

{Ed007's Note - No Griffiths?}

Ha. I thought about it Ed. I think Cristiano Ronaldo just brings that wee bit more balance.

ED007 I know you are from Coatbridge area and have a soft spot for the wee Rovers, am hearing that Albion have donated £10,000 to a local charity, can you confirm this?
If true, it is a fantastic gesture by a club who really need every penny themselves, and it puts the so called "bigger" club down Govan way to shame.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I actually live in Hamilton Tim. It's true that Albion Rovers are donating £10,000 to the Cash for Kids charity.}

They're also putting on free buses for the fans for the replay at Hamilton.

Ed what was the sell on percentage Groningen had in the sale of VVD?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's 10% buddy.}

How does that work Ed, is that 10% of a selling price or 10% of the profit.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It will be 10% of the profit.}

If VVD was to go this year how much could we seriously expect to get for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be looking for at least upwards of £8 million for him, Marky. What do you reckon we should be asking}

@ed007 it won't matter how much we get for VVD, if the board don't reinvest. i'm still sickened by propaganda in january in the hunt for a striker and we end up with Griffiths

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Oh ye of little faith DN, we have Steven Mouyokolo to return from injury and I'm sure the likes of James McPake or even Sam Ricketts would jump at the chance to play for Celtic.
You can't be a real supporter if you aren't in overwhelming awe of the master stroke in signing Griffiths. Of course it doesn't matter that he would have signed for Hibs if they could have afforded a straight £700k or got him on a free transfer - we paid £800k with £200k of add-ons, we were HIS second choice ffs!
Remember all we need to do is qualify for the CL group stages for our season to be regarded as an overwhelming success, we should feel privileged just to be allowed to even play in the qualifiers, and even if we don't qualify it's hardly the board's or the manager's fault is it? It will be because we play in Scotland, the qualifiers are too early or because we will be playing at a half empty Murrayfield.}

Couldn't have put it any better ed lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've said it a hundred times, fans acceptance of the board's small club mentality is slowly deteriorating the whole club and the feeble excuses being peddled by both have long grown tiresome.
Every club in the SPFL Premiership have progressed since Rangers liquidation except CFC yet some fans keep peddling the myth that we miss them while championing the fact we posted a profit of £21.3 million, how did we make that if we miss/need The Rangers?
It's a nonsense but it suits those blinkered fans who refuse to see any wrongs at the club.}

@ Ed007

I didn't say Rangers were in a better position to challenge Celtic at this stage, of course they aren't. However, what I did say is that Rangers will be the only team in Scotland capable of potentially challenging Celtic (all being well at Rangers in terms of getting back and stabilising) I don't see how anyone can disagree with that to be honest. If you can't acknowledge that then you are kidding yourself on imo.

Do you agree with JJ that Aberdeen have this season shown themselves to be capable of filling the void left by Rangers as a genuine challenger to Celtic?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Rangers don't exist any more so yes, I am saying all of that if you want.}

Fair enough Ed007.

What if I changed that full thing to The Rangers, what would your opinion be then on my points?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They would be the exact same as explained elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing to make me think that The Rangers will be able to mount any challenge in their current condition. Their finances, their management and their playing staff are vastly inferior to ours, so what makes you think they will challenge? So by sticking to the facts of the situation what makes you think The Rangers can or will mount any challenge to us?
Potentially Donald Trump could take over Aberdeen and invest millions, potentially Dundee Utd have a team that, as they gain experience, could challenge us. Potentially Angelina Jolie has me in mind as a bit of rough sex toy!
If you have the answers I suggest you contact The Rangers, they sure could use the help. Their accounts are late, they have monetary charges mounting up, they have spent all the IPO money, they have an unsustainable wage bill from top to bottom at the club that will rise even further when the pay rises kick in, they have had to use assets to get a loan from within the club as they have no outside line of credit.}

Agree with what you are saying there, Ed007.

My point is though, all being well at Rangers/The Rangers (improvements needed on current situation of course), and the potential that a club like that has, with a big stadium and loyal following, they are the only club in Scottish football that are capable of ever being on a level playing field with Celtic, of course just my opinion.

If Rangers/The Rangers do not manage to get themselves sorted suitably at boardroom level, or if they go to the wall completely, then Celtic will never have a challenger from within Scottish football and will eventually leave to play elsewhere.

JJ saying Aberdeen have shown themselves to be capable of challenging Celtic this season is laughable imo. They may have beaten Celtic twice, but they will never be able to match them over a season, I don't see how anyone can think otherwise to be honest. Unless they get a huge takeover, but we all know that will never happen for a team in Scotland.

If Rangers/The Rangers, with the crowds they attract and the stadium etc that they have, if they can't attract a takeover, how could Aberdeen or Dundee Utd attract one big enough to spend the neccessary funds to challenge Celtic? It just isn't possible for me.

Again, my belief is that IF any club in Scotland is ever to challenge Celtic, Rangers/The Rangers are the only ones who ever could. I think most would agree if being honest with themselves.

Got to love you Ed, you say it as it really is. I agree with you mate but I think the refs might have a say in what StevenC is saying, That said, here we go 10 in a row
