Looking forward to BR giving Mrs Gerard's wee boy a reminder and a sharp lesson.
Gerard had the audacity to suggest BR was over confidant and that was one of the reasons Liverpool failed to win the league.
Wonder what he was supposed to be having had a great run of games?
Brendan professionally refutes SG's "expert" opinion

Strange I thought it was because Gerrard slipped.

History will repeat itself, Gerrard fell to his knees in awe of Brendan Rodgers before and will fall again.

Maybe gerrard does not understand Psychology. If not he better take some classes cos he is now in a psychoanalysts nightmare.

He fell on his backside once. About to do it again.

With the reported outlay for Odsonne, where do you think this will leave Moussa and griff, surely if we are spending this amount he will be first choice . Maybe he’s going to pair both the French lads together up front . I have to admit the thought of them together could be our strongest since the king and Sutton / Hartson .

I am sure Brendan won't lose any sleep over this little problem .

14 Jun 2018 17:28:19
Ed how much do you think we have left in the kitty after this big outlay?

Hope we have enough left for a quality cb and rb, possibly a right winger as well.

That being said, the best bit of business would be getting dembele to extend his stay.

{Ed007's Note - Look at as most of the Edouard fee should be covered by the VvD money.}

This is going to be a belter of a transfer window. I expect DD and PL to put that clown across the river firmly in his place.

It shows fantastic ambition from the club to agree a deal for Edouard and we’ll done to all involved. Hopefully we show the same ambition when recruiting going forward.

14 Jun 2018 20:08:18
Ed, do you know how much we got him for?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - About £6.2 million.}

Glad we have plenty left for the other positions we need to strengthen.

All we heard last season was that how the Orcs spent more money than us and now we spend more on 1 player than they have on all there so called superstars they have brought in so far.

I also have a feeling that once we announce Eddy will then sign McGinn and will follow that up by breaking our transfer record again. Just to keep the sluggs firmly under there rocks.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2018 22:09:40
We spent more on ntcham than they did on all their signings. In the media it was claimed they spent 10 million but their accounts said it was much less.

15 Jun 2018 01:32:05
I am waiting to see what our negative anti Lawwell and anti board posters will come up with re the fee for Edouard, I expect £4-5m . I doubt if the board announces a figure and if. they did announce a figure close on £10m, we maybe no wiser because we wouldn't know what all was included.
One thing that pleases me, is we took a player on a season long loan from a very rich club and with a right to buy clause and carried through and bought the player . I hope we can make many similar deals in the future . We are not wealthy enough to spend this sort of money without us having a good look at player and player seeing us.

Agree0 Disagree3

15 Jun 2018 01:49:12
We spent more money on the grass we play on than their most expensive singing last year 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 11:08:58
They might have spent 10 million but no way was that paid up front, would have been on the never never and will still owe millions in future payments for the duds . Tick tock .

16 Jun 2018 15:50:32
4m for Eduoarde, lawwell wouldn't have the ambition to spend over 4.5m on a player.

Anyone explain who’s talking baws over Edouard transfer fee

BR sayings it’s lower than 7 mill, Sly n Daily Ranger saying it’s 9 mill?

Obviously a very good prospect but 9 million if true is a lot of money.

Didn't Brendan say it wasn't 7 million, but he wouldn't say if it was higher or lower.

14 Jun 2018 17:54:01
Kev T it is only a lot of money to Celtic. In the world of football it's a pretty run of the mill fee. When players from Peterborough are selling for 5 million it show 9 million ain't that big a fee.

Sounding like great news in relation to EO and shows the clubs intentions by going out and signing him permanently. Also nice how EO has managed to change many peoples opinion of him, as wasn't so long ago many were saying he wasn't good enough even when he had scored goals without really getting a chance. He got a half chance and he took it. I just would like to congratulate him especially as I wasn't one of them lol. Well done EO and welcome to Celtic for real.

Good luck to eduoard if he signs but if Moussa and Leigh also stay and are all fit I don't see this as good business unless Brendan is going to give him a proper run in the team which didn't happen last season. In my opinion unless similar money is to be spent on replacing other positions in our team then this isn't going to make us better which is what I want. That said if Moussa leaves then that changes everything.

Did anyone really doubt this boys ability. Always looked like a player. The big question is can he step up a gear.

14 Jun 2018 12:18:08
When he first arrived he had to bide his time, get to know the players and the system under Rodgers. Brendan said he was standing out in the rain and couldn't speak a word of English. Having Dembele, Ntcham and big Kolo helped him blend in.

I was blind but now I see.

It took him a wee while to show more than glimpses of what he could do; seemed to be trying to hard. But I've no doubt this is a cracking signing. Hope Moussa stays and Griff too, and that we learn to go 2 up top.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2018 13:06:02
I think Edouards problem was that he had no confidence, taking players on is clearly a strong part of his gaming. Beating them and finishing is another. He knows where the goal is. Kolo settled Édouard in well. Hope the rumours are true that all 3 of the french boys are staying!

Not a rumour but I was wondering if Rogers is letting the huns getting their fanfare out of the way with their new signings, and then blow them out of the water with a couple of big signings just to put them in their place . At the minute sky and daily record are going on about Gerrard like he’s a shoe in to take the title from us. The way I see it is they need 7/ 8 players to get near us while if we were to get in 3/ 4 quality players it will push us further away. I can’t see us having a season like last points wise, I think br and the team will be reinvigorated with this seasons new challenge, and will be looking to put them to the sword.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

14 Jun 2018 07:59:49
Honestly, i tend to think BR is above even thinking about them. Yes the press have gone mental, surprised?, over gerrard that was to be expected. I don't think for a second who they recruit will register for one reason. They are not exactly top drawer signings.

Arfield was a decent player and will have got better playing in a more competitive environment.
The boy katic, who knows, no track record to speak of. Goldson, as i posted before good luck to the guy, but relatively untested. Hardly a trio to strike fear into our hearts.

mcgregor, really pointless for me. Alnwick saved them from shipping NINE at Celtic Park, and has always looked like a keeper to me. To be honest even fotheringham has saved them during recent humpings.

Probably more to come and i cannot wait for the first game v the Champions. As an aside, funny how gerrard has now become a much better player than lampard, after years of them telling us frank was a blue nose and gerrad was half the player he was. I am sure we are working away and will get it done.

Jack. dorrans. murphy. cummings. The last batch that were going to do the Champions. How did that work for them?
