Yes Dannyh14, it was a risk worth taking from a footballing point of view, as in previous years it proved to be a game changer. Losing against them, totally against the run of play, on the day we were flying out to a training camp is not a reason to cancel something that was planned months in advance. And I for one hadn't, and never will stop believing in our ability to still push this all the way. Given the year we have all had, I suspect that this season will not yet pan out as some seem certain that it will, whether we catch them or not.

And while we are all suffering from this C.V., blaming Celtic or our Manager/ CEO for trying everything they can to give us an edge is not fair. And while it has back fired for now, it doesn't mean it wasn't worth the risk, as I am confident will become clear as the season goes forward. Celtic have the most stringent C.V. protocols in the SPL, and a couple of photos taken in Dubai have been used to sow dissent amongst our fans by people who have no love for our club. Their outrage is nothing to do with the health crisis, but everything to do with damaging our club, and in particular our CEO whose influence here and in Europe they fear most of all. I for one won't be playing their game, and slagging our club off in public, even when our best efforts don't work out as planned.

Well the risk on the football point of view worked out bloody marvellous didn’t it! 13 first team players self isolating for 3 games and no strikers at all to play in the mean time! Well worth the risk of flying out in the middle of a C.V. to do training they could have easily done at lennoxtown where we have recorded zero C.V. positive tests all season! So you keep thinking taking risks with people’s health is ok and al live in the real world 👍🏼👍🏼.

Belfast Tim i was at first ok with club going to Dubai as I was led to believe it was one of the safest places in the world regarding c. v and look what happened.

It was a risk that should of been avoided by club and had board acted back in November to remove Lennon as manager then maybe club wouldn't of needed dubai trip to turn things around.

14 Jan 2021 21:58:54
Been on this site a few times and there’s a lot I agree on and a lot I don’t! But for me after the season we have had 21 points behind that lot and bn beating by them twice
There’s no way they should have went away
And because of that we are missing 13 first team players
What a joke 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Also Lennon should have never got the job in the first place come on! I mean at Bolton he did nothing
Hibs the same so why the board thought to get him I don’t know 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Yes we won the league but they were crap after jan also we had big frazer in net and we had a settled team.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jan 2021 01:21:10
If with you Belfast Celt, it was the right decision to go away. Unfortunately, one of our players got CV and it has impacted on the team.

However, when we went Dubai was a safer place to be than Scotland.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2021 11:51:37
Whose to say the Jullien wasn’t positive before the team flew out, incubation of CV is, at a guess, up to 14 days. Negative tests are not 100% . Getting fed up reading crap about the Dubai trip. Any group of people who are in constant close proximity, are at risk, so Lennoxtown and Parkhead would present the same potential. We are having a rubbish time but it has nothing to do with going abroad, unless, of course, anyone can prove 100% that Jullien picked up CV there.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2021 14:09:14
Chasa obviously it can’t be proved but the fact he’s injured and had no place at a training camp should’ve made this a hell of a lot easier. He doesn’t travel and there’s no cv issues.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2021 16:27:54
Back to my original point, he may have been positive before he travelled. So unless he caught it there, Dubai may be completely irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2021 08:53:39
But if he stays here and has it then the rest of the players isolating now would’ve been available.

It’s been reported that Dermot Desmonds son Ross will join the Celtic board for next season
It could be the start of the shake up.

{Ed007's Note - I seen some places talking about that, BB 👍

14 Jan 2021 20:58:17
is this a good thing ed007.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We won't really know until there's anything official AND we find out what job he's going to do. I know someone that has spent time in Ross Desmond's company over the years and when the subject of Celtic comes up he is very vocal circles about the Club and how things should be done & how he would do things if. Don't get me wrong, it's like us talking to mates about Celtic when we all know the answers but we're not DD's son who was always going to be taking over.
He's no mug in the business world either so I wouldn't expect him to be sanctioning crazy spending like a spoilt playboy like some will be hoping for but hopefully he will have enough power to make the product on the pitch and progression as a football club the priority.
One thing that I'm not 100% sure on - maybe somebody knows better than me - but don't we need to announce major boardroom changes to the stock market with 6 months notice? I'm 99% certain I read that somewhere.}

14 Jan 2021 21:52:35
Have you ever worked and tried to manage a family business? But ma daddie said? The self entitled weans are generally worse than the Da who at least made his own money. I know nothing about the boy Desmond but best of luck to whoever but from experience it wouldn’t be me.

Hatred has built up over the years due to the success of Celtic Football Club.
The media in Scotland have been the same.
It’s been a great period in our unbroken history and it’s been hell for the people who love to hate our club.
They were forced to watch Celtic win 9 titles in a row, which included an Invincible season and a Quadruple Treble.
No matter how much they hate us, they can’t ever take away these glory years.

Buzz Bomb

Take our success over the last 10 neigh 20 years and throw our heritage and manager into the the mix then add to that the BBC’’s (British Brainwashing Corporation) attitude and institutionalised anti-Catholicism and anti-Irishness and you will arrive at the recipe for their hatred.

Would you want it any other way?

Jesus said to his disciples:

“If the world hates you know that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world the world would love you as its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of the world the world hates you too.

Andres Iniesta believed Celtic and Barcelona had something in common when he said “ a symbol of a culture and community that has not always been made welcome in their respective countries”.

BB I’ve been a fb since I was 4 years of age and can identify with that comment. I remember Iniesta being clapped off after one of the best performances I’ve seen at Celtic Park. What a player. He was good enough to wear the Hoops.

Due to the Scottish Cup rounds being rescheduled,
The Celtic V St. Mirren rearranged fixture has been brought forward to Saturday January 30th @ 3pm.
It was first moved due to Celtic participating in the Scottish Cup Semi Final in November and then it got rearranged for February 3rd.

United Ireland our rearranged games are
Livingston V Celtic January 20th
Celtic V St. Mirren. January 30th
St. Mirren. V Celtic. February 10th
Celtic. V Aberdeen February 17th
The reason there’s 4 games is we were due to play away to St. Mirren next Saturday but they have a league cup Semi Final to play and now that game is February 10th.

Going on transfers in this or the summer is going to be a hard sell players agents will b advising to let it go don't go near Celtic. Will need to be a big sell to attract anyone to the club.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Why would an agent tell a player don't go near Celtic? Looking forward to your explanation😂.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 19:47:41
if i was an agent i would tell my players do not go near celtic because if you have a couple of bad games you will be attacked by your own supporter by attacking the team bus. and being totally abused as i have said before on here i have supported celtic for seventy years and i have never seen anything like the last couple of months by so called supporters not even by rangers fans.

{Ed007's Note - Absolute nonsense. I don't usually play whataboutery and I have no idea why you're bringing them into it but didn't TRIFK fans storm their stadium to attack & injure staff, storm their POTY awards in a hotel where members of the public were staying and publicly threaten everyone connected to their klub via the media?
Have you forgotten about the effigies of the board being strung up outside Ibrox, have you forgotten the Scottish Cup Final when they lost to Hibs, or Manchester?}

Time to move on from Dubai, as we are only doing our detractors job for them! Dubai was a gamble, and potential game changer, and a risk worth taking in my opinion. If it had paid off, and the 10 was achieved, there wouldn't be a word about it! One player caught C.V., as did many in other clubs (except 1 miraculously! Their "luck" won't last forever! ) , and the Government bodies felt the need to ban everyone they could at Celtic to sooth the demands of the FM. Didn't see her isolating after speaking to a potential "C.V. carrier" in a bar without a mask on, of course we will never know as the other people in the bar weren't regularly tested like our players.

But we are where we are, so let's just support the team, and enjoy seeing players who we may never have got a chance to see if this hadn't happened. Might also bring a few on for the time ahead.

Finally, don't let anyone create the impression that our club is responsible for recklessly spreading the C.V., as that was the fault of the Government who decided to give you Christmas, and for all of us who ripped the a--- out of it. Keep the faith!

Dubai was a risk worth taking! Dear god I’ve heard it all now! Going to Dubai in the middle of a C.V.,19 points behind that lot after just being beaten by the them 24hrs earlier! Risk worth taking but! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 17:37:20
Danny do you think Celtic shouldn't have went to Dubai for health reasons or because we got beat off them and where we sit in the table because if you think it's for health reasons why mention the others.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 17:55:57
I mentioned the other because that’s the icing on the cake! To be so idiotic to fly into Dubai in the middle of what’s going is the main thing! But to top it off we’ve literally just been beaten by that mob, essentially killing any chance of somehow getting the league! And we think it’s ok to go and put ourselves at risk for a bit of sun! Being rewarded for a season of utter failure and embarrassment! So that’s why I mentioned it! A totally shambles on every level!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 18:35:42
Health reasons 100% getting beat off that mob should have no bearing whatsoever.

Dubai was just wrong. Granted it’s 2020 vision in hindsight but it shouldn’t have happened. For all the management and players statements giving conflicting reasoning PL coming out right after Nicola statement would have sorted it
I fear this is a cloud that will follow the club for a while

Everyone and everything in life has a shelf life Peter Lawwel has overseen unprecedented success on his watch in the years he has been ceo with Celtic, Neil Lennon has given us some great European nights of football. but everything comes to an end eventually. it is time they both said they have tried their best and move on to pastures new otherwise it could become an unsavoury divorce.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2021 13:32:14

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 15:06:38
love these posts which have a go but offer no suitable replacements.
I guess there must be some financial wizz kid out there desperate to replace PL and for the manager? Eddie Howe, so brilliant he is still sitting at home. knows very little about Scottish football in general and West Coast issues in particular.

As for firing into the sun - sad to see that you feel that way but I respect you opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 15:19:13
Tim, reading your comment regarding knowing Scottish / west coast football, do you not think that limits our potential for a coach. ? If that’s the case we will be eternally linked with david moyes and pretty much no one else. Or someone like Ross from Hibs.
Surely we have to get away from that situation now and look at things with fresh ideas?

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 17:54:26
We don't need anyone who's an expert on west of Scotland issues, we do need an overhaul of the entire coaching set up and they can learn about the west of Scotland while on the job. We are paying Champions league wages to a dreadfully underperforming team and we need a new manager. Knowledge of the west of Scotland while being useful, won't determine who the next manager should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2021 21:09:12
Difficult to see how we could attract a top notch couch at the moment:-
SPL - hardly a high point on a cv
C.V. - with the current issues and financials, if you are in a good job stay in it
Floor up rebuilding required
A number of players want away - allegedly
Scottish environment -wet and cold
Two team sometimes three league
Sectarianism
Bring up family here with sectarianism- they will be effected
Control of team/ transfers - to much PL influence.

I was delighted to see big Duffy here too. He’s very well thought of and an all round good guy from the town I love so well. Brought to Celtic games as a boy by his father who he tragically lost last year at the age of 53. A horrendous year for him all round and I’m massively disappointed it didn’t work out for him for whatever reason. It certainly wasn’t for the lack of heart or effort. Looks like Duffy is off Nottingham forrest can't play for us have to unload rogic nitcham sell the rest that don't want to be there and rebuild with a new manager and hopefully lawell will resign as season ticket holders are very upset with him as he has ruined celtic its a shambles he never was up for the challenge in Europe or the league as we have witnessed that team under a decent manager coached right would have been OK but leaving new players on the bench and no faith is pathetic and leaving it too late is a joke time for a clear out the apology came far too late as the decision to keep a manager lost at sea cost us a celtic fans dearly you only get judged in results but too be hanging on to this managers have walked for less it where our club has let its standard slip which nobody was interested in at management level humiliation is a bitter pill to swallow and were getting plenty of it stop the rot and put celtic back where they belong as champions not as this no idea or fight left.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2021 10:49:09
i think saying he has ruined celtic is taking it a bit far mate we have had a really bad season. before this season we have seen success none of us thought we would ever see but that all seems to get over looked and forgot about because how this season has turned out.

wee have had a poor season but we just need a new manager and a DOF and just leave the footballing side of things to the football men and people like lawell just deal with the money side and listen to the football people when it comes to football matters. so i think saying they have ruined celtic is taking it a bit far if you want to see how a football club is ruined look back to 2012 now that is how a football club is ruined. we have had a poor season time to regroup and make better decisions on the football side of things and all is well.

He was caught between a rock and a hard place the pressure of 10IAR was on and could he drop the guys who had been there done that and won 9iar? For the 2nd time in a few months Wullie Collum has been given a Celtic away game after he wasn’t originally the named referee.
Wullie will now referee the Livingston V Celtic match next Wednesday ( his 3rd Livingston V Celtic game in a row ) after Steven McLean was originally given the game.
Steven McLean isn’t injured because he’s got a Premiership match on Saturday.
The same happened a few months ago when Nick Walsh was given the Aberdeen V Celtic game only for him to be replaced by the unpredictable Wullie Collum a couple of days before the match.
Since the Southsiders wrote a letter of complaint about Wullie over 2 years ago,
He’s been given More than Double the amount of Celtic games than our city rivals. Why?
