Young lad kemar roofe from Oxford United? Prolific goalscorer decent build, pace. Might not be too cheap but surely worth a couple million.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Guess who watched the Millwall v Oxford match tonight, Brian? That's called MOTD Fever :=o

14 Jan 2016 21:25:48
Haha, certainly not the first time iv watched him, definitely got potential. Ripped swansea a new one ( who wouldn't right now mind you) still one to watch and not long before he moves to prem if not championship club.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Tonight's the first I've seen him and he had a good game.}

14 Jan 2016 23:50:38
He's been linked with a few epl teams so will be upwards of 10 million mate good player the type we should be looking at.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2016 00:36:50
To be fair to Brian1888, he has been doing well this year and when he is on his game he looks a handful. That said, I watched the Swansea game (where he played very well) and when the match finished, I thought there would be a few on here suggesting him. I like him but he's not (that) young and he ain't prolific, not by a long shot. He's got a good return this season (for a midfielder) but one summer and all that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It seems Newcastle have been tracking the lad but Oxford aren't keen to sell him.}

15 Jan 2016 00:51:04
Interesting Ed, I didn't know that. I'll be honest, whilst I like him - I'm not sure he's EPL material. He's scoring in a league that, if I'm not mistaken, a younger Callum McGregor ran riot in.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You'll know how good he is better than me.}

Ed007 or any Ed, any idea where Vidic is heading? Think he's past it for us or even out of reach financially? I know he's had bad injuries but he's in a bracket of centre backs we should be after. Experienced pedigree that top sides are looking to move on from.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I checked with Ed002 and she's not heard anything about where he could end up, sorry. Vidic is nowhere near the player he was mate, he was a cracking player in his day and my idea of the perfect stopper CB but his legs had went even before he left Man Utd. After having an inddiffernt time in Italy I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in England, there'll be some team down there willing to pay his wages, even till the end of the season to help fight relegation. There's also the possibility that he will retire as he turns 35 later this year but I think a 6 month deal somewhere is more likely.}

14 Jan 2016 15:26:07
Cheers bud.

I just think with Simunovic being a young ball player an experienced no nonsense campaigner would be a good partner.

Thought if Cole was worth a training spell then perhaps someone like NV would be, even if he was just getting back into a rhyhm this season and just had one European run with us next season.

Probably isn't worth the money though given his physical shape and age. Only had him down as being like 32 to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - He's definitely the type of player we need to compliment Simunovic. I do think Boyata has been improving every game, not that I'm saying he's anywhere near as good as Vidic was, and they could become a solid enough CB pairing but I'm hoping someone else is brought in to push Boyata for his starting spot.}

14 Jan 2016 15:45:46
I was reading in the papers down here that Vidic is likely to go and play in the MLS. I'm not saying that it's true, it's just what I read.

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - I never thought of that.}

14 Jan 2016 16:22:52
ED007 and guys we do not need another CB, in papers today Ambrose has said he is the answer to our defensive problems, he has just saved Pedro millions in the transfer market.

Agree2 Disagree4

{Ed007's Note - I don't think Ambrose is as bad as a lot of people make out but I wouldn't complain if we moved him on.}

14 Jan 2016 16:58:51
The Italian press are saying it was probably china he was headed for .

14 Jan 2016 17:17:50
Taking a risk on someone who played brilliantly three or four years ago or more would be a risk too fat In my opinion, for Celtic .

Hopefully after Friday nights game we will see a bit of movement from the club with regards to players signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

14 Jan 2016 17:20:28
Kevbhoy why do you think Friday night's game will be a watershed re new players signing.

14 Jan 2016 19:38:00
I reckon Ronny's focus will be on the game and then after that he has a good few days to get involved with that side of things along with PL etc.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Jan 2016 21:51:01
if he hasn't focused on it before now I doubt he'll start now as we have a game on Tuesday and another two after that and one of them is a semi final so it's up to Peter to finalise any business as we don't need any panic buys to see us through this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 22:13:59
I would imagine the focus now should be with mostly Laweell and the selling club to come to agreement . I doubt if there is any interaction between a targeted player and RD . Of course if Celtic become aware of someone previously not viewed and who would be available at the right money he may go to watch him .

SSN reporting Sunderland have agreed a deal for a new striker, I wonder if that means Fletcher will be on his way to Parkhead sooner rather than later.

14 Jan 2016 13:44:33
He's off to China.

14 Jan 2016 14:05:29
No way will fletcher end up in China! No chance. he'll sign on at another club down there willing to pay him what he wants!

14 Jan 2016 14:32:07
Something like 12 goals in 3 seasons. Just not worth us keeping his Lambo on the road.

Welcome to the Club, Rich T. There's a few Bandits on here talking about a Breakaway league or Timalloy with his Jammie Dodger tips, or if United will become a Yo-Yo team but although there's a few Crackers on here that might take the biscuit - you can always take a Time-Out.
What?

14 Jan 2016 09:32:57
Although most of the rumours are paper talk . the players getting mentioned looks like if true it's tge cheapo route again . hopefully not . imo we don't need a big money/ name player this window I'd happily take mocinic. leskovic . the bhoy ajar then loan him back keep stokes as cover then make a move for a proven striker in the summer with one big investment. But I fear a couple of loans we don't need and a 4th rate striker wasting another 2_3 millon. and needing another couple of seats on the bench installed. when was the last time anyone can remember the thrill of hearing a player being signed that got everyone exited knowing we had bought a real player .

Believable4 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2016 10:44:36
I totally agree, I know it's only paper talk but didn't ronnie recently say we weren't going for loans as they were no good to us . He also said he wanted experienced players . The other thing that I don't understand is we will wait til the end of the month to try and get players in and when it becomes a bit of competition from other teams we inevitabely lose out as the price gets hiked up with other interest. If for example they want that Serbian defender from Spain or indeed ajar why are we waiting. ? Figures have been bandied about for these players which don't seem massive amounts . We can't afford a bidding war so just go in early and find out if a deal can be done, if not we have time to move to another target.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 11:11:32
For years now we seem to wait until the end of these windows to sign players and usually we are left disappointed or even bewildered as to 'Who is this guy? '
We have always been dithery and penny pinching in the transfer market, but there is also the factor that players don't fancy the SPL (especially with no European football) and we can be seen as a last resort for players holding out for better options until the last minute?

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 17:27:24
There is a very good reason why we have to wait until the end of the window for some of our buys . The quality players don't want to commit to a team from Scotland
These players will only consider us when all other options are closed down .
It appears we were lucky that Guidetti and Finnabogsson decided they were too good for us, or we could have signed expensive non goal scoring strikers .

14 Jan 2016 19:36:17
Is that no what a just said?!

The rest of the posts are basically similar . I would have thought that u would be happy to have someone agreeing with you .
