Evening Ed hope you are well?

Just a quick question, I seem to remember reports that we always seem to have scouts at Benfica's games any idea who we have been keeping tabs on? Don't think we could afford any of there first team! I also seem to remember Peter Huston saying before he left for Falkirk that Celtic had a massive list of potential signings for all positions so whoever was to become manager would have a massive network to work with! What the hell has happened to that? Surely that massive network could of found us a decent centre half new left back and number 10 type plays to help open up teams

{Ed007's Note - I'm good, Gaz, thanks. If anyone knew the answer to that we's be the one with the heated driveway.}

on the Celtic/Rangers game.

I quickly recall, Aug 23 2006 ( Dallas coin thrown game ).
I had decided not to go that day. However for reasons I had to be in the area just prior to the game. As our fans made their way towards the stadium, I felt this very very strange feeling, that all was not well.
it was like pure hatred was in the air, and it was the only time I have ever had that feeling.
Until NOW.

I will watch the game and shout our bhoys on. but you could not pay me enough money to go to it.

For those who are going enjoy and stay safe.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Sadly, I was at the game that day and never had I or since have I felt the tension that existed on that day, could be something to do with the 1805 kick off time but you are correct it was an eerie day.

People should not be afraid to attend football matches because of some knuckle draggers obsession with living in the past. It is pre historic and belongs in the past, let's treat the game like any other and enjoy it for what it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I will be there but it will just be another league cup game v a lower league team. I refuse to get caught up in some nonsense re the old firm. that particular war is over and we won!

Sadly some halfwits in our own support seem hell bent in making this a Celtic- rangers game. which it cannot be.

Agree2 Disagree0

How can it not be a Celtic - Rangers game GJ? It literally is a Celtic - Rangers game. Hence the attention it is getting over any normal league cup game against a side from a lower division.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gj your perfectly entitled to not buying into the old firm hype but surely it is a celtic-rangers game?

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a Celtic-Newco game, Not an old firm game.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its just a pity that some fans who attended the previous 2 league cup games will not get tickets because all the big game charlies are coming out the woodwork!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Is there any word on Boe & Mokey?}

I maybe wrong and anyone can feel free to correct me, but did Rangers football club not die In 2012 leaving a trail of debt behind them. This will be the first time Celtic football club formed in 1888 play against Rangers international football club formed in 2012. Like I said I could be wrong. Regardless I feel as if there will be bother and I would urge everyone from both sides to stay safe.

The game Dallas got hit with a coin was in 1999 as I remember watching it in the Celtic supporters club in New York.

If I do go can you guys tell me best place to park best route to take from falkirk etc, last semi I was at was against hearts in 1989 so been long time coming thanks for any info folks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Prob best to head in via m74 and cut thru rutherglen to toryglen/asda area. What have you been doing the last 26 years lol

Agree0 Disagree1

I would send the ticket back and not go I expect there to be trouble at the game plus I wouldn't want any of my money going to these fraudsters and imposters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol yeah I know Jim, just one of those things I suppose mate, either unlucky enough not to get one or working but I always remember that last time u was there as a young 15 year old got bloody burned in eye ball fi my pals dad lol, was really considering giving my ticket to a friend of mines but my girls are spitting teeth because I only got one, so suppose to keep them happy I better go eh ha

Agree0 Disagree0

If you are rightly concerned about your security would it not be better you going with a supporters bus like from the Star Inn? on Grahams Road

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah tonybhoy couple of my mates go on that bus was thinking that myself cheers, was more concerned about getting parked near hampden than anything else big .d but take your pony think there will be something happens unfortunately, and can't pass up another opportunity for a semi and hopefully a ticket for final never been fortunate to be at one

Hi Ed,

Any more word on who will be our kit supplier next year?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - New Balance and Warrior are the interested parties but nothing's finalised as far as I know.}

14 Jan 2015 13:50:55
I must be getting old. I have never heard of this company are they a global company or just a small UK firm?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - New Balance are the parent company of Warrior and are based in Boston, perhaps they will pick up the ball Nike dropped with selling merchandise in the US. Warrior currently supply Liverpool's kit but that's changing to New Balance next season. Some other clubs they also supply are Porto, Sevilla, Shamrock Rovers and Stoke and they have players like Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj from Man Utd, Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, Kolo Toure and Ross McCormack on their books.
In October 2014 New Balance were listed by Forbes as the 174th largest private company in the USA with sales of $2.73 billion and a workforce of 4000 employees.}

Cheers for that ED007

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - No worries mate (yes)

I love NB sneaks so hoefully they make some decent kits and tops too to go with. Warrior have produced some pretty dodgy kits though, a bit more 'in-your-face-ish'. The vile kind of away kits we traditionally have!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Google 'Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper jersey'.}

Jeez. Would have been a great Rangers 2012 away kit.

Search 'CD Lugo Beer kit'. Now that's a funky kit.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm surprised they were allowed that.}

Type in "Cultural Leonesa Tuxedo Kit".Wow! Its worst than anything Warrior can come up with.There's a leaked photo of Liverpool 's New Balance home top online and God help us if this is the template we could get.

Jb I saw the one I think you are talking about a few days ago to get an idea of there style of kits and 100% agree it looks awful

Agree1 Disagree0

Timmalloy,, warrior sell skinhead/mod style clothing ie harringtons, docs, loafers, check gingham shirts, but giving your age you probably disapproved of that style of clothing first time around,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a different Warrior lol You're thinking of Warrior Clothing from down in Englan. It's Warrior Sports that are in the frame for the kit deal.}

Rubbish, I was going to revisit my youth and buy a emerald green Harrington, looks like i'm the old fud

Agree0 Disagree0

I got a few Warrior tops for the gym they are nice, comfortable fitted polyester. I'd be happy if the kits were like that just hope its nothing like Liverpools like you said JB

Does anyone else feel the BBC (Sportsound) has been giving Celtic a raw deal over the last 5 or so years?

I'm talking about not very much coverage on the BBC Sport Scotland website and not very much coverage on the radio shows. Also any coverage Celtic do get doesn't seem to be in a favourable or neutral tone.

An example would be.

Yesterday they broke news on the Sportsound radio show that Celtic had made an approach Gary Mackay-Steven. Now that's massive news in Scottish football as he's definitely up there with the better players in the league. It was the second story on the radio show behind some nonesense about Rangers then 3rd on the list of stories on the website. The next day the story had vanished, replaced by news of Henri Anier going to Dundee Utd and Shaun Maloney moving to another English team etc.

It seems Richard Gordon has put together a band of small team heroes and Rangers sympathiser's (Al Lamont and Richard Wilson) who want to do nothing but talk about Rangers finances and how well every team but Celtic is getting on.

Don't get me started on Kenny Macintyre!

As most Celtic fans know the Scottish media has had a long and sustained campaign against us which they have barley even bothered to cover up, this used to be about magnifying any positive coming out of ibrox and doing the same about any negative ones coming out if Celtic park . Now since their death and media reincarnation it has been very hard to put any positive spin on anything coming out of ibrox incase they end up with egg on their face only a short time later and are held to account by angry fans of the reincarnated 11, so they have went into overdrive by putting a negative spin on nearly every story coming out of Celtic park . My worry is that more and more posts on this site about, rd, pl and our signing policy seem to have been taken straight from these people and no one seems to be listening to what the people inside Celtic park are saying.

Agree2 Disagree0

As fab1 has touched on we've virtually no friends in the Scottish Media.
Their priority was to cover up the death of Rangers and the 'liquidation' word has never been used in any report; resorting to administration and relegation to convey their lies and misdirection.
Sevco Sly are no better and definitely have an anti-Celtic agenda on board.
We have never trusted or needed them and my biggest regret is that no-one in authority inside Celtic Park has taken them to task publicly and expose their corruption to all.

Agree1 Disagree0

Goodness me guys why must we be paranoid all the time? We KNOW what happened to them we don't need to be told otherwise. I also sure if the reverse happnened and it was us then they would report the same. You see they need to sell papers/subscriptions to us, it is not in their best interests to alienate a large amount of their customers.

Do you actually buy or read the record rayman?if not you can't really comment? I visit my old mum on a daily basis and she buys it on a daily basis and I usually take a look at it, if you do and haven't noticed the lengh they go to to avoid the words liquidation or paint Celtic in a bad light I find that quite incredible. I also think they know the majority of Celtic fan wouldn't buy their paper and as such tailor it to suit the majority of their demographic, ie the resurrection 11.

Agree3 Disagree0

I remember some time ago when I used to listen to the phone in on Snyde graham spiers said that the Rangers supporting journalists had an agenda against Celtic, and Keevins who was on the show agreed with him .With regards to the BBC tv or radio have always had an agenda against us I am 66 years old and suffered the anti Celtic attitude so it's nothing new, even during the Stein era it was the same, it's just the country we live in and it won't change.killy.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I never had you down for that age, Killy.}

Thanks for that ed.killy.

Agree0 Disagree0

You right it probably will never change, but it certainly won't if we just ignore it . Just like institutionalized racism the more we highlight, exposé, and talk about it the less chance they will be able to convince the more gullible in society that we are just being paranoid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fab1 it would be nice if things changed, unfortunately in this country those in the top positions in, the judicial system, Police, all scottish football associations, the media, politics of which none are Celtic minded, and not forgetting Freemasonry and the Orange lodge it won't be allowed to change sad but true.killy.
