Not going and getting ryan gauld shows where we're at. Continue to take chances on these "what will they be like" signings in the 1-2million range. Going to miss out like we did with james McCarthy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would he get near this team what wrong with our own youth

Agree0 Disagree0

Gauld is a good player, but is he any better than ones we have at our academy, I'd rather we gave them a chance as we've romped that under 21 league for years, would love to see us play Henderson, Fraser, miller, than buy united kids, I like Darnell fisher, hasn't let us down,, we've others like toshney at killie. Deserve a chance, atajic too deserves a shot, the young ones never let us down when introduced, and play their hearts out, we can't fault their effort

Let's be serious WCW, based on recent performances no one has cemented their position in the starting XI other than Forster (as he hasn't had anything to do), Matthews, Lustig (until injured) and Virgil.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would he get his game ahead of brown and biton and this bhoy stefan johansen hb?

Agree0 Disagree0

Think commons deserves wee shout there hb, basicly carried our team all season.

I, like everyone, am pleased to see us obtain someone who seems to be very highly rated and coveted by top clubs such as Roma. My question to other Celts is this - are we happy for this arrival to signal the departure of Ledley? I've stated before what a big fan of Ledley's I am. I think he is top drawer and should be the first name on the sheet. He's had bad luck with injury but he's also been left out for CL when fit so I'm not surprised he's shopping around. He is excellent every time he plays, something that can't be said for many players.

Ledley is the devil we know, he's young and could really drive our midfield alongside someone creative.

Just my two cents but I'm biased towards Joe Ledley for sure.

Really not to bothered if Ledley goes u said it itself he's been left out on big european nights when fit for 30 grand a week he should be outstanding, for me he's very rarely excellent only ever good

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather see Ledley stay as I am a big fan!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Mr Consistent to sign a new deal, but can't see it happening now. Can always remember talking to him at my mates car wash last summer + he was saying how much he loves Glasgow, etc!

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt Ledley of a joker? He likes to have a laugh and keep everyone happy. I would not take the guy too seriously. As for listening to ANY modern footballer saying they love the club they were transferred to or any club or any city well that's just the joker coming out in them.
Maybe a laddie who went with his papa to the games and has come through the ranks would be listened to otherwise we are all kidding ourselves. Sopotcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Pleased with the style of player Johansen seems to be. Would love Ledley to stay but it's not the end of the world is it. The clubs bigger than any player. If people don't know what he brings to a side then ignorance is bliss. If people can't see why a player of his quality isn't worth, this day in age, to a club that should be competing in the CL, £30k a week then the board should be happy (not that I know why a deal hasn't been made). If people aren't as furious as me that a player worth several million is again walking away from the club for nowt then again, the board and management are getting away with one. Surely it's just poor man management if it isn't known that a player wants to move on after his current deal. Do they not even talk to each other like men. Me and my colleagues all know what each other hope to be doing in the near future. I've said before I think it would cost serious money to replace Ledley. Hopefully we've went and done it with the 2.5 for Johansen. Might fit in lovely with Brown and Biton.

Jim the Tim your more than entitled to your opinion just because a don't agree doesn't make me ignorant to what Ledley brings to the team. A think Ledley is a consistently good player with out ever being a stand out in Scotland . Am sorry a just think that if your earning 30 000 grand a week in the SPL they should be giving more than consistently good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't a pop at you directly at all Monkey. Still not sure what you mean by stand out: take four men on and chip it over the goalie, run half the pitch and score a diving header then curl a 35 yard free kick in every week? I doubt you do mean that but still guessing you don't see his quality. His level of consistency is very hard to come by, big character too, and that's without going into the technical/tactical side of his game. Then again if we were both pro coaches we'd probably be playing different sides but that's a given. Worth 30k a week in my eyes, I don't think money is the issue though tbh. Regardless, I think Johansen could be a decent replacement. HH

Seeing the shares in a certain new company crash since introduced got me looking throught different snippits .
I came across something of interest .Since its only a rumour and this is a rumour site I will share it with yourselves .
It seems a senior member of this company whom I will call terrestrial gastropod mollusc for handness and to protect his identity has very recently off loaded a number of shares to make a tidy profit .
What is it that terrestrial gastropod mollusc knows and maybe should be sharing with the blind faithful .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This has been floating around the net all day.It also gives seems to tie in with the rumour of a barney when their CEO told sneaky just how severe the cuts are going to be. If it is true he will have some explaining to do, he did claim the shares would be handed down through his family 'long after I am gone'.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he has sold some of his shares that pretty poor although he will weasel his way out of any criticism as he normally does!

So what's people's thoughts do we try sign a proven goalscorer the now or persevere and give the new Bhoys 1 last chance. Also the new Icelandic guy and youngsters.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In a logical and realistic world I'd like us to bring in a playmaking midfielder + goalscoring striker this month, giving them a few months to get settled and familiarise themselves with the style of football, how their teammates play, etc. Will that happen? Probably not. We'll probably not sign anyone until it's determined whether we will be playing a) Champions League; b) Europa League; c) neither. I'd also like to see the youth given a chance domestically, forget all this unbeaten record carry-on. Time to build for the future, not bury our heads in the sand from now until July!

What type of player is this johansen seen today him getting compared to Mata, the paper says riseth tv says NL. Read the other week he was a deep lying playmaker like pirlo.
Think its a tuf 1 a no it was meaningless games but pukki and balde gave me a glimmer of hope together and av hated pukki since he got here. Then we've got the new Icelandic bhoy maybe he could prove a goalscorer given the chance also a right minded watt.
Surely an expensive goalscorer should be good enough to slot right in if we wated.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 20:21:20
I think we need to sign a quality proven striker in this transfer window. Big balde & pukki are not good enough in my humble opinion. I know they have not had much game time but I do not think either are Celtic class. I hope I am proved wrong but doubt it. Would hope that lennon gives the youth players more game time aswell after performing well over in turkey, but these youth players beat liverpool in front of a full house in dublin and most have not had a sniff of the first team since.

Agree0 Disagree0

We never replaced Hooper and although Commons has been immense the other strikers have either failed to impress or have not been trusted with the job.
Lennon had Stokes, Watt, Pukki, Balde and Samaras at the start of the season and was still trying to sign a striker at the 11th hour of the Summer 'window'.
We are a team that usually creates enough chances to feed a 30 goal striker and we are probably out of Europe because we don't have one.
The young players are not being given a chance, so we also need to add creativity and pace to the team if we are to improve for CL quals.

John Guidetti is the man we need. He fits the profile and has good sell on value once he bangs them in.

SC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

John Guidetti hasn't kicked a ball first team level since April 2012. He's had lengthy injury after injury since returning he was over in the Eredivisie. No go, in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's went to stoke on loan according to sly spurts

"Servesthemright" Shares now 25p, tic toc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There was comments made about salarys obscene salary .Rightly so.
I made a comment that maybe it was for slugs loyalty and silence not his managerial skills but once again it wasn't posted.
It seems you have to send a selfie of yourself standing on one leg with only a bright coloured sash for clothing whilst slapping yourself with a thistle to have any chance of posting over there .

Their day is coming. AGAIN!

At 25p the shares are 7% down on yesterdays trading price .Also 5% of total shares were bought by some one person or company .The power struggle continues

Since RFC died I haven't took much interest in the irrelevant tribute act who dwell in the depths of Scottish football, but I've noticed a good few statuses on FB, etc from fellow Tims about them on the way out again? Am I right in saying their value has dropped by £16m in 4 months?!

Agree0 Disagree0

First time poster. We should all, no exceptions, refer to the sevco a by their new name I.e sevco. THE rfc NEWrfc. And so on. Rangers died . So did phrase 'old firm' . We all know they are heading for admin on purpose . Why else would they spend the money they had on slug .

Agree0 Disagree0

HB from approximately £60m when issued to approximately £18m now trading on paper .Rounding off the figures .

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 Who referred to them as the same club, stated they didn't die or used the phrase OF?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol TTTS, wee diddy team trying to be a big team. Reminds me of Livingston + Gretna tbh!

If it's true that Callum McGregor is valued at nearly a million quid and is by all accounts highly rated at Notts and by Wolves why are we not looking to get him near our first team. Will we ever start using and not loosing young players from the academy. Ed007 alluded to it and I agree NL doesn't know what he's got and can't see the wood for the trees. I hear he's going to do modelling work for specsavers. Come on Neil give youth a chance more. If you can't coach them move over and don't leave the club in a stagnant position like MON and Alex Ferguson did in their last breaths at the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's worse.Rumour is Lenny wants Griffiths, Wolves want McGregor, you can see where i'm going with this can't you?

Lennon is playing a dangerous game.If Lennoxtown is not producing then why have it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes GJ I do see where your going. Some may say we just have lennoxtown built there as some sort of land grab (ha). Not being one to shirk controversy I hate to make a comparison with McCoist but can NL not get these players in or us he just going to buy teams. Mufc bought players and produced their own. We can afford to buy quality let's not just waste money on second rate when we have stars in our youth. Supplement youth with more quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've seen of the boy mcgregor he would get a game in our team no problem if Lennon sells him it is a joke we shouldn't be letting young talented players like him go on the cheap

Hoopybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Trying to look at it in a logical manner, would this lad get a game ahead of young Atajic or a reformed Watt, does the club need a short term answer to the 'striker crisis', would Griffiths offer this short term answer .Certainly can score goals in SPL, then we have to take into account Pukki, Balde, Stokes etc .How far down the pecking order would the lad Mc Gregor be, maybe £1M would be good business .After Sundays performance there most certainly is a case to answer to as regards introducing development players, there has to be a balance thou .Myself I would prefer the phasing out of some of the senior players, Forrest, Mulgrew, Sam and Ledley if he doesn't sign .With Biton, Brown, Commons, Kayal as cover for Brown bring in young Henderson plus it seems now the Norwegian lad .Up front a mixture of Balde Stokes Pukki Atajic and Watt if we can get him onside .Defence has been as mean as its has been in a while and with the promising looking young lads, development is the key there not investment .Just a few thought to mull over .

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgregor is a midfielder and in my opinion will be twice the player commons ever was in a year or two why sell him for a mill when in a couple of years I think he will be worth at least six if not more

Hoopybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

See the lad George went to Hamilton on loan and McGeough could be another out the door so the youth development strategy is breaking down with the manager and his back room staff and that is a disgrace.
My main concern is that there is no Tommy Burns like figure at the club to help nurture, promote and push these young guys and instill a pride in what it's all about to have the rare opportunity to play for our club.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Was reading his profile hoopy, seems he hasn't the range of passes to make it as a midfielder and plays in an advanced role for Notts County with a degree of success .
JJ not even Manchester United with there degree of success with youth players would be bringing through the amount of youth players some people seem to expect .It has to be balanced .It seem the club are developing some fine young footballers and it seems that their time to step up will be over the next couple of seasons . If by the end of this season some of these lads are not playing regular first team foootball Nl will have to have a look at this position at the club .
