Well ed. Hard to beat a good auld lazy Saturday nite in watching Match of the day. Another good 3points today. First half we were brilliant and the second we drop a bit but 3 points is 3 points. Very impress with big Victor. Getting izzy and commons back would be like 2 news signings. Young Thomas Rogne going to be a great Cb. Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - Rogne has impressed me BIM. I've said it over the last week I can't see where/why a new CB would fit into the squad with the ones we have and the form of Rogne. A wins a win as well, that's all that matters just now, keeping a grip on the lead.}

If a offer over or around 7m comes in for hooper from Southampton again do you think we will bite the hand off or will Lennon stand his ground with lie well ?

Even if we sell him do you think we could get rhodes ? Even if it was the summer ?

Also how much do agents get ? Do players give them a wage every week as such cause they look after them or is it the club ? Or do they only really make their money in the summer/winter transfers?

Sorry for all the questions ed if it's not them then it's bridget jones diary lol

Lenny {Ed007's Note - Agents get a percentage of their clients earnings (sponsorship deals etc), plus the agent's fees attached to transfers (and contracts nowadays). I think if a bid in excess of £7 million was made for Hooper it would be seriously considered. I've said before Lenny, Rhodes isn't as far out of reach as people think, I'm not saying we will definitely sign him, but there is a better chance than some people think.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ah ! So Basicly you have 15 players big player or not your making a tidy wage really. 'how much' would it take to get him ? & if & when would they likely punt him summer ? I know it's all ifs & buts but could be worth a south if we're quick enough.

Any word on the ins & outs at CP or ibrokes

Lenny {Ed007's Note - I think it will probably be the summer before Rhodes moves, some of the prices being thrown about are way off the mark IMO, he is after all a League 1 player, there is a massive jump from there to the EPL. The deal West Ham offered was mostly performance related, that's why it was thrown out.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take 7m.its just too much to refuse but i would make sure theres a sell on clause.your right about rhodes ed i heard his dad on the radio saying he thinks he might b a bit young for his big move so you never know 2-3 years here,bit of euro experience you never can say. green jhedi. {Ed007's Note - That's just one of the reasons we have a chance Jhedi (cool name, BIG Star Wars fan here). Would he start games in the EPL? His international place? There are a lot of factors and if you listen to him, he's not daft, he will know the merits of the opportunity to play for CFC at this stage of his career.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why 7 million for hooper get a grip celtic wont sell him why?? u ask because he wants to sign a new deal

Edu and Bartley have been subjected to racist abuse on twitter supposedly by a Celtic supporter. Lafferty was abused as well. I say supposedly because obviously it can't be proved until they catch the culprit.
GCUK {Ed007's Note - Not real CFC fans to me mate. It is well out of order. That's not the first with Edu either, he has even had it off his own fans. The sectarian problem is bad enough in Scotland without getting dragged down the racism road as well.}

Evening ED007, just back from game but not what I am on to talk about. I sadly witnessed 2 Celtic fans abuse a father and his young daughter (about 11) because she was wearing a pink scarf with a union jack on it. You can guess, get that union jack to f..., singing it to a wee girl, brave guys NOT. I take two teenage girls to games so I knew what the father was thinking, protect the girl, I was really angry and told idiots I was a Tim also an they were giving Celtic a bad name. I was then called all the Orange B's of the day (bears on here will love that)
Luckily a bunch of young Celtic fans intervened and saw off these thugs. We asked father if he wanted to report it to police but he said no. I am still angry at two so called Celtic fans doing that to a young girl. I disown them and hope they are ashamed if they read this. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Shameful behaviour Tim.}

Believable2 Unbelievable13

I'll take this story with a pinch of salt

Agree10 Disagree0

ED007, luckily at time I was by myself but when I told girls what happened, they called me stupid as I should have recorded it on my mobile and taken it to police, you can tell I am not as quick on the uptake as the youngsters, now kicking myself i never thought of doing it, but anyway I was too busy rounding on the idiots. Agree2 Disagree9

There is still idiots on both sides and as much as the clubs and all the thousands of decent fans that want all this stuff to stop sadly these people still persist in doing it {Ed007's Note - I doubt we will ever truly get rid of it but at least it is the minority now, which is a start when you think back over the years.}

well ed how are u? nl was on clyde 1 statin that he does not want anybody to leave and it will only happen if there is silly money involved,ie look at andy carroll £35mill and hes like a runnin donkey and a team like southampton slaps in a bid of £4mil cmon are the english think that the scottish team are goin to let their best player go on the cheap so i hope nl keeps his mind on that and c wat happens ps all ENGLISH money scroungers f*k off and try that wae other players, wsnbm,stef1967 {Ed007's Note - I agree Stef. Southampton got £12 million up front (plus a further £3 million in add ons) for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but then try to get Hooper on the cheap.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Well ed wot is it all about how can they get away of it?what i would do tie all oor tops players on a £10mill buy out clause and that will keep them at bay,stef1967 {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't even bother with clauses, just tell clubs that kind of price, like it or lump it.}

is it just me that thinks ki should be in for brown? brown slows us down and his contribution is negligable for me.mis-placed passes,no goal threat and a bit of a time bomb into the bargain.heard today discreet contact was made with elvis at falkirk regarding el-aligue,think he might do the job y'know. green jhedi. {Ed007's Note - Brown when fit is one of the first names on the team-sheet, and rightly so IMO.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Totally agree.need browns dig

Agree3 Disagree1

Edoo7:why? when was the last time you saw a game n thought brown was a standout? yea lots of energy but a better footballer than ki,victor,kayal,forrest,ledley? i think we play better without him. greenjhedi. {Ed007's Note - I've already been through this umpteen times. Did you not notice we went through our bad patch when he was out injured? He is captain for a reason, he brings a bit of drive, steel and swagger to the team. Every team needs someone like that even Barca. Roy Keane was no Zidane but he done all the dirty work for Man Utd and done it well. Brown is that kind of player. Maybe if he had a fancy foreign name you would appreciate him more. NL made him club captain for a reason, he sees a lot of himself in Brown on the park. We are sitting top of the league and still in both cups, I think NL has been more than justified with his faith in Brown.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki came on and was rotten, what the heck was he up to when put thro, brown for me

Agree2 Disagree0

Edoo7:fancy foreign name! listen mate iv been watching celtic for over 45 years n seen some real class n real celtic captains also some real dross it has to be said but you cant possibly compare brown with keane who ruled the english midfield for years.the greatest midfield display iv ever seen was keane v juventus away,after gettin booked and knowing he would miss the final he dominated the whole game.nl is the man to lead us ,win the league or not but iv yet to see brown take a game by the scruff of the neck n dominate it.greenjhedi {Ed007's Note - I'm not comparing Brown to Keane as a player, I'm comparing his style and attitude. You never see Brown pulling out of a tackle, he will let other players know if they aren't pulling their weight and if teams want to mix it up a bit, who is that first one in their protecting his team mates? He shouldn't be getting played out right though, he should be in the middle.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree ed, he should be bang in the centre of the park , thats his position, leave the right wing to wee shooders {Ed007's Note - We call Forrest 'Nae Neck' ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Edoo7. good point mate,i actually thought nl might av put him in there cos of kayal's injury ,maybie right side to protect young adam? as always interesting thoughts cheers. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I think the midfield looks a bit lightweight without him playing but he is no winger, a whinger maybe :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Broony reminds me of myself when i ran the midfield for st james',lmfao

Agree0 Disagree0

Missed wee James tormenting them today ! Please don't call him names - Mrs E {Ed007's Note - It's just fun Mrs, he doesn't mind as long as he gets to watch Ben 10 when he eats packed lunch ;-)

Agree1 Disagree0

All this bad mouthing of Brown reminds me of the rubbish that Lenny got.

some people just can't see what they bring to a team....because they're not scoring or involved in some barcelona-esque skipping past players, doesn't mean they're not doing anything.

like the Ed says, look at the times he's been out injured, and how we struggle as a team. i bet if we looked at his stats he probably covers more ground than most

Agree2 Disagree0

I thought Brown was one of our best performers today and IMO hasn't had a bad game since returning from injury. He got forward into some good areas, got down the byline a few times (against their LB who I felt had a great game for Dundee United) and bailed out Matthews (who I felt had a very poor game) on a number occasions by winning the ball back after he'd gifted them possession.

I think his recent performances have shown why he's captain. Could've scored today were it not for Stokes doing his usual by squandering a chance when someone else is far better positioned to score.

As for Ki I think he's a great player to have as he offers a bit of creativity and is good around the opposition penalty area but he's not the most physical and too often goes missing. IMO given Kayal is injured if Ki is to play (especially against the better, more physical midfields) it has to be alongside Brown to compensate. Wanyama is good in the challenge as well but not as aggressive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's kidding who here r we trying 2say we went through bad spell cos brown wasn't playin ,we were crap 2day cos NL played brown on one wing and samaras on the other ,the both of them should have been hauled off after half time .What has Brown and Samaras,s contributions in 4 years been {Ed007's Note - The statistics speak for themselves. Was it just a coincidence that Rangers went 15 points clear in the league after Brown was injured in the first derby match?}

Agree0 Disagree1

We were crap today?

who's we?, cos Celtic were far from crap. jittery in the second half, but our performance and passing in the first was up there with the best of the season.

and using brown and samaras as wide midfielders has been used to great effect

I know we all look forward to new players coming in, but the biggest coup this year will be to keep the players we have. Hooper has been fantastic, Wanyama in my opinion is absolute class, The defence looks good and we're creating lots of chances. I would like to see Salihi sign.....for the money they are asking for, he's a bargain. Save money on a CB (which I think we have plenty of cover for) and buy a quality striker for 3/4 million + Salihi 500k. Get rid of Rasmussen, Bangura, Juarez. PS enjoyed Fat Sally bricking it today at St Johnston (how many times did he ask how long to go........the answer is not long then you can grab your p45).

For the record, a young KB could once be seen flicking his fringe, donned in a multi-coloured pringle diamond jumper. With a lemon roll neck underneath it in winter.
Lol.
In my defence, I never wore Farahs though !
Stone washed jeans instead. Wahhhh !
There's a good shop called 'Stuarts of London' that does a lot of the 80's footy fahions, which are in big style with the kids now.
It's a bit like your wedding suit coming back into fashion. You know you're old then. Lol.

I know it's not compulsary to sign players in each transfer window, but as the powers that be decided all these years ago that business can only be conducted within set time restaints, it is now understood that clubs use the Jan window to take stock and replace/add where feasible.
I think one of our biggest faults over the years has been failure to off-load the deadwood and I don't mean by just re-loaning the same guys every 6 months and pretending they don't exist.
We currently have a handfull of guys who clearly do not have a future at the club (whether we supporters like them or not) and better efforts should be made to sell-on and raise cash for players that the manager does want in the team.
This would either help to offer more lucrative deals to top players or obtain the 2/3 players that NL is continually 'having a look at'.
We may try and cover Kayal's absence as we did with Izzy, but what if we get a couple more long term absentees in the run-in?
Personally I believe we shouild strengthen now as a 2 point lead is nothing to be complacent about and added competition for places must be a good thing?
