There might be some words on the clubs future this week but i think it will be in line with this. NL will be in charge for the remainder of the season where again this will be reviewed and that there are plans of revamping some aspects of the footballing structure we have in place at this moment unfortunately things have not worked out the way we expected so at the end of the season we will sit down with the new CEO to forge a way ahead. What do use guys think?

Lennon should have went months ago, imo he should have went after the first Derby game were we didn't even have a shot on target at home. But what needs to happen is lennon gets the boot, a new manager comes in and has the remainder of the season to work with his squad and see who want to stay and go and who he want to keep or sell. That gives him time to look for replacements and get us in a good shape for the CL qualifiers. That's just my opinion though.

It should have happened in December.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 20:10:06
Lennon saying he's making plans for next season and scouting players . sounds as if he's the man next year. but we've got to be looking at bri ging in a fresh face with new ideas. surely.

14 Feb 2021 20:36:38
What else is he going to say?

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 20:43:33
of course he will say that, he wouldn't come out and say "No I'm not bothered about next season as I won't be here" would he?
Until it's officially announced and he is given a date to leave he will carry on doing what he is supposed to do, just as Ronnie did.
Does anyone seriously think that the board will keep him on knowing what the fans think and then expect the same fans to buy season tickets?
As soon as its mathematically over we will get an announcement followed by the season ticket applications.

I think he's trying to wind up fans after banners.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Feb 2021 08:59:36
The board are asking people on the waiting list to make sure their details are up to date, that sounds like they expect a lot of people to not renew. Which is bad news as that could mean lennon will be here next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 19:51:29
Agreed that all we can do is win and try and maximise our points tally making the league position as respectable as possible.

Let's not forget for a minute though what a seismic disaster this season has been for us to end up dumped out of 4 competitions we have entered - so far.

From PL/ board, NL and the 'players' to C.V. and THAT trip to DXB, a potential record 10-in-a-row has been squandered before it even started. Only a gandful of this team - players and coaches alike, deserve to set foot inside CP next season - an absolute disgrace.

If they had any brains, pride or shame, several would have walked long ago.

I really got my hopes up after sevcos performance last week. I thought they'd fold and we'd catch them for an even sweeter 10 in a row. But I think after they ground out a win against a terrible Kilmarnock team that they'll win the league now.

I think we need to set our sights high at the end of the season. Pay what we can and watch us embarrass slippy g and that tax evading club he pretends to care about.

Hi Guys, just thought I’d ask the question to you all this evening after the report regards David Webb being a potential candidate for a role at Celtic. His Curriculum Vitae does look very good and is clearly regarded well, with this link is it fair for me to suggest the possibility of Mr Webb working with Eddie Howe again as our manager?

Both available along with Eddie Howe’s assistant Tindall think his surname is! I know this might sound a bit far fetched but if things are happening behind the scenes and David Webb is under consideration would make sense for him to work with Eddie Howe again! Was just a thought cheers guys👍🍀👍.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed033's Note - How can Celtic lose with Jason Bourne [David Webb] as part of the team. :)

14 Feb 2021 19:33:59
Might be sounding negative again haha but i don't want Eddie Howe as our manager. His Bournemouth teams were easily the worst tactical teams in the pub league.

if it was howe i personally think it would have been done before the end of the season .

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 18:32:29
It could’ve ended so differently today for both Edouard and Celtic.
The commentator mentioned Ajeti and Klimala got called and were minutes away from coming on and then seconds later Edouard scored.
About 15 minutes later with Celtic now leading, the subs changed to Griffiths and Elyounoussi.

Who do people actually see as replacing Lennon?

I know I've said I'd want them to go big and get a name (even bigger than Rodgers - I'm talking about a zizou or Poch (I know he's went to PSG but I mean someone of that ilk. ) )

Who do we actually see being the replacement or do we see it being Lennon again?

I've heard of it being Kennedy and bringing in a DoF but I don't see that fixing this.

I just hope some one like Ralf Rangnick would be our New manager. Maybe to high a ask but it is possible I think And I hope who ever it is will be revealed to us this week Not sure when he ( who ever it is ) will take over but I hope the board come out with at least there is going to be a change in that department also and not fob us off again.

14 Feb 2021 19:54:59
Personally i want a fresh approach and like most fans i've been disappointed with the names linked. There are 100s of managers capable of taking us forward but will never get the chance. Realistically (but highly unlikely) I think we could bring in the following

Marcelino Garcia Toral
Gian Piero Gasperini (i wish )
Marco Rose
Pascal Jansen
Christian Ilzer
Jindrich Trpisovsky

I don't think Lennon will be in charge next year.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 20:13:38
marco rose is tipped to take over at one of the top 2 in germany, after the job he's done with gladbach, we missed an opportunity with him when we appointed lennon.

Greg Taylor’s great league record for Celtic continues.
Greg has started 28 league games so far in his Celtic career.
In those games Celtic have Won 24 games.
We have drawn 3 matches all on plastic pitches and the only league defeat Greg has experienced when starting for Celtic was at home to St. Mirren a couple of weeks ago.
Taylor has only played a total of 7 minutes against Sevco which came at the end of the C. V game at Celtic Park.
Greg now has a total of 2.68 points per game that he’s started.
Only Stuart Armstrong with an average of 2.70 points per game has more in the last 5 seasons.

Good stats and info buzz bomb! It’s a shame our own manager doesn’t have the sense of you!

Celtic manager Neil Lennon: "The manner of the performance was very good. The reaction was top class and we scored two beautiful goals.

"On a really sticky pitch they looked like a real good football team today. "

Lolol.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 17:12:32
JJ compeletely agree. Greg Taylor is a decent squad player at best. Decent cross for the goal but that's the least we expect. And why does he take so long to take a throw-in lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 17:40:37
If fans could get into games he would have been a target for the Boo boys at every misplaced pass. Pleased for the lad as he gives 100%.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 18:03:46
Yes he gives a 100%, but that should be standard. if anyone thinks players of GT quality are good enough to challenge, then maybe that's one reason for the current mess we are in.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 18:17:21
The thing some people miss is that he is one of the very FEW that have given 100% every time he plays and if the rest had been as consistent we would not be in this mess. It's impossible to have a full team of superstars - although a few can help - all good teams have solid consistent 7 out of ten squad men to carry the load.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 18:25:48
That's the thing if you can rely on him to do what the team needs him to do consistently but not outstanding you get the players in that perhaps need a foundation but can do the magical. there's been clubs that have had a solid workmanlike team of 11 that have done well and there's been a collection of superstars that have never been a team and performed badly. For me it's always down to the manager to get the most from a team.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 18:29:37
I am not make him a scapegoat for the season. and some of his performances are decent. But why are we looking at diminutive fullbacks the have no presence in the air.
Even Kenny is tiny. its a weakness we have that teams exploit.
We have to be looking at better quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 19:41:37
A few observations from today, just my tuppence worth;-

* Greg Taylor, works hard, dependable if unremarkable. Next season he should be a solid back up LB.

* today's result, 3 points and it should have been more comfortable. Bottom line, we struggle against any team in this league that is prepared to work, fight and have a go.

* 2-1 away to St. Johnstone should never be described as a great win for Celtic.

* LG sitting (in the stand) laughing like the dumpling he is at Christie slipping and going on his backside, when we're struggling. Nice one Leigh, hopefully you're away soon with the rest.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 21:19:27
Pedro - I’ve never been a fan of Griff.

Under RD he had a great season and since then he has been nothing but trouble and wasted what should have been his prime years.

With Eddie leaving in the summer, I’d like to see the other 3 sold as well and new players brought in.

Maybe a new boss can get a tune out of Ajeti / Klimala but I really can’t see it.

What a 2nd half from eddy sublime and worked his socks off . Still think we give away too many free kick though. But great 3 points.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

14 Feb 2021 14:05:05
In truth, it was a very average performance, although we should have scored at least two in a dominating first half. However, it took St Johnstone taking the initiative and scoring to Snap Eddy and co into life and full credit for the brilliant lead-up and class finishes for both goals and another three points. It's also four wins in a row for the first time since way back in September, so that's encouraging.

A great win for Celtic.
I thought Edouard was poor for an hour and he still ended up MOTM.
He was brilliant for the last 30 minutes.

Caese I don't think we have had a clean sheet in any league game Duffy has played. I could be wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 16:57:36
Im sure Duffy started the last time we beat st Johnstone 2-0. Griffiths and klimala scored. Also remember he scored against killie when we won 2 or 3 nil at celtic park.

Ross county 5-0.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 20:32:48
Calmac and Taylor were at fault for the goal, not Duffy. I don't think Duffy did much wrong today and along with ajer won most things. French eddy came alive when most needed and won the game with absolute brilliance, a good 3 points on the road as st johnstone have only lost 2 games in the last 10, I believe. Hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 21:08:19
Duffy positional awareness was the problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 13:05:24
I know he is inexperienced, but I fancy Maloney. He is very articulate, knows the game well and reminds me of BR as he is a deep thinker and clearly does his homework. Might need a father figure, WGS? Thoughts?

14 Feb 2021 12:33:37
I seriously can't believe how poor Eddie has gotten, his touch is woeful, he turns constantly into trouble, loses the ball far too often, we'd be lucky to recoup the money for him at this rate

Ed not sure how sell on clause works but surely when you add a sell on clause do you request that the clause to be only implemented on any profit above the purchase fee or even if you sell at a loss you still then pay % sell on fee?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's a percentage of the profit mate. The only thing that will affect Edouard's fee is his contract situation, Celtic will still be asking for a "significant fee" probably in the £20 - £25 million bracket.}

14 Feb 2021 13:01:53
Do you really think someone will pay that? I just can't see it, last season yes no problem, however that was on the basis you expected him to carry on being prolific, but he looks average, and average in the spl doesn't attract money.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Clubs still know what he is capable of and his potential. 17 goals in 28 games is still a decent record in a poor season.}

14 Feb 2021 13:19:42
7 goals in six games just not good enough from Edouard.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 13:19:56
I presume somebody on the side line told him about my comment and he pops two in 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - WGS Jnr showed him it on his laptop lol. West Ham (Edouard doesn't fancy that) Leicester (obviously) and Arsenal (to replace Lacazette) are all tracking Edouard plus there will be interest in France, could he maybe replace Dembele at Lyon?}

14 Feb 2021 13:38:53
Imagine how bad we are going to be up top next season without him.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 14:01:09
I'd love to see somebody shell out £20m for him Ed but with him only having 12 months left and no end in sight with C.V., I'd be surprised unless there's a bidding war involving a few clubs. From a football point of view, I'd love to see him stay for his last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's because of his contract the price has dropped from £30 million. What's £25 million in Pub League terms?}

14 Feb 2021 14:04:45
He has 2 or 3 players on him every time. It's down to the people around him too to help create space for him. He's better with a strike partner up top the whole midfielder as striker doesn't work. Why not start Klimala up top with Eddy if Griff and Ajeti ain't fit enough for 90 then bring either on in the final 15-20.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 14:08:23
He looks like he's been coasting all season; but has now scored in seven games in a row and even though his style can be frustrating, we will need much better than Griff, Ajeti and Klimala to replace him.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 14:12:41
I can’t understand Celtic fans doubting Eddie. He is head and shoulders above any player in the league. He was injured at the start of the season and then had the C.V. issues. A few bad touches on a terrible pitch and trying to turn a player when 3 are around him in a packed midfield.
He is now getting up to full fitness and in some form.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 14:38:54
First player to score 20+ goals in 3 consecutive seasons since hooper. 20 goals in a season where he’s not on top form is incredible if someone pays 25m they’ll be getting a bargain.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 14:50:46
It probably would never happen but due to the fact that next seasons winners go straight into the champions league, would anyone like it if the club said we aren’t selling you and you could go on a free after the following season.
We probably won’t replace him with quality similar, I understand he may want to go but he would get a much bigger signing on fee . If his value is dropping to what some are saying, if he stayed and managed to win us the league back it would be money saved.
Or we could hire a top coach that may entice him to stay for another season .

14 Feb 2021 14:57:46

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2021 15:42:05
Normally it would be a drop in the ocean Ed but when Liverpool are scraping around the bottom half of the Championship for players then you know times are tough lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Liverpool's finances are a mess and it's nothing to do with Covid. The players they bought last summer was just more debt and they had no money to put upfront for a defender there in January, failure to qualify for the CL next season will cause major problems}

14 Feb 2021 16:54:58
Rumours are flying around that klopp has quit, the Liverpool fans aren’t happy with the American owners.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They were happy enough when they were winning the league and the CL.}

13 Feb 2021 23:10:22
Have to agree with Ed here regarding fitness. u take power lifters or cross fit or body building for example . You have to be individually driven to be the best you can be with not any real monetary gain ( unless u work your arse off in to the elite ) . My point is really a player with all the support they get with dietitian, physiology, hydrotherapy the state of the art training facility’s. And not having other obligations . Like a proper 9-5 or 12 hour shift job. Then aye I think also they should be liable partly for there own fitness . I get match sharpness and working on tactical training is different but actual fitness . nah that should be a minimal requirement for a professional athlete.

Wow well said #hereforthebanta
I have been spouting this for months. There is no reason other than injury or lazyness to not be shredded and not putting the hours in. They have an amazing life living the dream they say. You see the Bhoys get off the bus before a game you can see they don't hit the weights. Lads please don't come on here and say lots off muscle slows you down ( this is 1970 1980 1990 and 2020 WRONG ) just look at the footballers at the top of there game. Follow what they do and stay clean if you have some skills you will make it by doing the above. I'm not want to go on about this but if you need advice contact ed007 I will give it for free.

I agree with both, i play football Saturday and Sunday i take my fitness serious and go out early running, i go to the gym and box all for the aim to be the fittest i can be when i play, and i pay for that privilege! 😂. I pride myself on being able to keep ahead of everyone come the last 20 minutes of games. I would love to be paid to do that and no doubt with all that coaching, nutrition and sports science it would take my fitness to a whole new level. I can't for the life of me understand how a professional at the biggest club they will play for isn't putting everything into it, they are at the best club that dominates why would you possibly want to drop levels to bring yourself down. Personal pride should be first and foremost.
