Hi Ed and fellow Bhoys, don't post much but read all the time. Just wanted to give a shout out to Sviatchenko. Was at game on Saturday and thought he was immense. Not the the biggest cb but superb in the air. Just like Henrik, it's not about height, it's all about timing. Any thoughts?

{Ed007's Note - Welcome aboard buddy. I don't know who I love more, Simunovic or Sviatchenko but I took to Sviatchenko right away last season and he seems to improve every time I've seen him.
I do have a feeling that another CB might be brought in to play 3 at the back in Europe and even though Boyata's finding some form and I hope he's a success at Celtic I don't know about him at a higher level than the league and cups.
And for once I'd love to be proven wrong with those three becoming rock solid in the CL.}

Boyata was excellent also and seems to have found a wee bit of form but I worry he's a confidence player. What you reckon?

{Ed007's Note - He's spent a fair amount of time out injured too but he was always going to be given a chance under Rodgers if he got fit and knuckled down to show he still had something to offer. Kolo Toure seems to be having a really positive effect on him as they have known each other from their City days when Toure took Boyata under his wing.}

Big Erik n simo r a great pairing, and I'm glad for boyata too as he had been back playing well under Rd, was going with Belgium n then got injured. Main thing for me is he looks like he's getting confidence in his abilities again, there was always a player there, I don't think the boo bhoys helped during last season either n every player needs to be confident.

It's what yogi Hughes said Tommy burns would say to him, you can't do what they forwards can do but they can't do what u can do.
Play to your strengths n play with confidence n freedom. Footballs a simple game that too many want to complicate.

Ed I'm like u hard to pick a favour of say who u think is better but probably, only just big Erik for me, reminds me of cannavaro, height wise, stature, their superb aerial ability and quality on the ball. Big simo can play, strong great in the air n looks quality along with Erik, it's an area I feel we are strong, specially when both r fit.

Have to say Rd was unlucky simo got injured when he did as we were looking strong with them both playing. Big miss.

Ed, not that I disagree about the tag but you have to remember the era and what part of the States they came from? The carry-on with Jerry Lee Lewis was similar. Married his young cousin (parents consent) . It was not unusual particularly in those times.
