Looking for a bit of advise please bhoys.

I’m traveling up from Newcastle on 23rd for the Aberdeen game with my son for his first ever home match.

We will be driving up and back all in the same day so any advice as to best situation with regards parking?

I’ve never driven on match days, so not sure if it’s a definitely no-no? Would I Better parking further away and getting the train?

Cheers.

we usually park just off london road turn up by the shop just after the csc club, getting harder for spaces these days with all the new houses being built but always managed to get one up to now.

Craigarm: look up the area with Barrowfield st, get in there early 1pm and you pay the kids to "watch" you car £4 and there are plenty cars there so your car will be fine. its a 2 min walk across the road to Celtic park, and about 10 mins from the main Motorway to get you back down the road.

Hope that helps mate, safe journey and im sure you son will have a Great day.

You could try parking behind Dalmarnock station, it leaves you with a 10-15 minute walk to the ground.

If I were you I would park somewhere on/ off the road between Shawfield and Parkhead. This means you don't have far to walk after the match and you are close to the M74 for the return leg of the journey.

Craig I do the Newcastle journey on business and my advice is park in Newcastle and get the train. Last year I think it cost me £32 return which was less than ma diesel would have been. Plus it takes under an hour and a compated to 2 1/ 2 hour drive plus the weather isn't great. Enjoy the game with the wee man Craig. God Bless! ☘️.

{Ed007's Note - Can Welshy not pick them up somewhere? He'll need to ask the Mrs first right enough.....

15 Dec 2017 07:54:47
WelshyTravel also does parking?

My mother-in-law has her lair in Baltic Street,

that early its easy enough to get parked there or the surrounding streets and then a wee walk up to paradise.

Just when you see a house made of candy, don't be tempted to eat any or you'll end up in the pot. Coincidently what has happen to all the local neds so your car will be safe. So I guess she has her uses.

If you get to Celtic Park about 12 the Kerry dale suite will be open I know ure driving but the wee man and yourself could have something to eat and listen to the singer and enjoy the pre match atmosphere you have to show your tickets to gain entry but I will stress you have to be early hope u both have a great day haul hail.

Craigarm why not travel up on the supporters bus leaving from The Irish Centre? I go up with them quite a lot. Much easier than driving.

After receiving the letter telling me I couldn't give my season to my grandson when unable to attend I then received an email (being on the home cup ticket scheme) telling me how much it would cost if I upgraded my concession so that someone else could take my place in the event of me being unable to attend!
I give in!

We’ll just in from work and got a letter saying nobody but me can use my season tickets! An absolute bloody cheek they’ve got sending this out to people who shell out for season books! If I can’t make a game I always give my ticket to a pal or family member and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do! The tickets been payed for so what’s the feckin difference! Pisses me off things like this honestly! Absolute bollocks! As is there pricing for the zenit game and when the cut off point is to buy the tickets! Not heard of a little thing called Xmas down there am guessing! 😡🤬.

It’s a bloody joke, how to kill the feel good factor, and merry Christmas, how are they going to police that the queues are bad enough.

Agree0 Disagree2

14 Dec 2017 17:58:19
That has always been in the terms and conditions when buying a season ticket. I can remember it printed in the old books.

14 Dec 2017 18:08:08
Had to laugh at this bollocks, what a waste of paper sending out those letters, as if anyone's going to pay any attention to it. As you say my tickets payed for I can give it to who I like.

14 Dec 2017 18:48:22
fkn farce what about the csc's who have tickets in there name. I'm with u lh still be passing mine round to anyone who needs if im not going.

It’s a joke lads! It’s like let’s think of a way to rile the supporters up! Totally pointless letter and bloody waste of Time!

14 Dec 2017 19:30:53
It seems maybe the start of the club wanting to re-sell the ticket if the ticket holder can't go. Im sure other clubs in the EPL do it. Looks like another way to generate cash.

14 Dec 2017 20:16:43
Am north stand upper and pay a fair whack, if am not there one of my bhoys or pals will get it, if everybody that couldn't go left there ticket not used you'd see a big difference on attendances as well as match day revenue would drop they might change there tune then. cheek.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Dec 2017 21:00:42
They wouldn't change their tune because it's part of the SPFLs regulations. Says so in the letter.

Agree0 Disagree3

15 Dec 2017 12:13:23
Oh well better stick to the rules then.

{Ed007's Note - The letter is to try and cut down on grown men using kid's tickets after a flurry of complaints by other season ticket holders about it.}

BR was right to rest some players last night it will have done them good. Ajer for me has done enough to keep his place in the team for the Hearts game. The team played some good possession football. Amstrong who has been out of sorts this season i thought looked more like his old self, as did Sinclair in spells and there was some neat passing throughout between Sinclair and McGregor who I thought put in an excellent shift, as did Edouard.

Did Boyata go off due to an injury or was it just to give Jozo a run out? If it's the former then we might not have much choice in the matter.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Dec 2017 10:57:48
Been saying for months Ajer deserves his chance! Very harsh to judge the young guy after the Astana game IMO! He was in next to bitton that nite and that done him no favours! The bhoys composed he can pass and I like the way he brings the Ball out from the back! Also not afraid of a tackle! Get him in there for a run of games to see how he gets on! He can’t be any worse than boyata!

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Dec 2017 11:04:36
Ajer deserves to keep his spot for sure. For me, if it's playing 2, alongside Boyata, who I still think is our best CB.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Dec 2017 12:00:26
Scary stuff if boyata is our best centre back Jim! Lol. never rated boyata bad I don’t think I ever will! Gave him credit for forcing his way back into the team, but I think that was more about Brendan not rating Erik! Any sort of pressure and he folds! And I’ll never forget him hobbling of against sevco because he was ‘injured’ if we’ve got any real ambition to have a run In the EL then we need far better in defence!

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Dec 2017 12:55:13
It might well be a case of slim pickings Lh, the truth is that there's a few positions we need to improve, even to go some way in the Europa. But for me, he's our best CB. When we do sign a CB is it going to be another project? Because we have enough projects in the dept. with Jozo and Ajer. What we need in there is experience, pedigree. The trouble there is, what does even say £8m get you right now? We'd probably be looking at a free agent/ last year of contract or a player that a big side are looking to off-load. Somebody like Kolo, but with a few more miles left in the tank.

Just a random question to all. When did a shy stop being called a shy and become a throw in? Couldn't tell you the last time I heard of a shy being taken.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2017 10:46:32
Growing up; it was always a 'shy' a 'by kick', and the shout was always 'foul' - never 'handball'. 'Wall-passes' were wan-two's and Tommy Gemmell did toe-bashers (not toe-pokes) .
Jim Brogan dished out 'wee messages' - never 'went to ground' and any dugs that came on the pitch were always called John Greig?!
Aye changed days, indeed.
