Why is it Celtic are dealt a blow with Roberts travelling to Spain to play Girona

If anything it's surely a reality check that he ain't in the first team plans and should move on before it's too late.

UEFA and FIFA need to stop clubs stockpiling youngsters. It's ruining careers.

If its not ruining careers, you'd imagine UEFA and FIFA would realise that the younger lads can add something to the big competitions - albeit on the fringes - of the marquee tournaments by playing for competitive teams in the leagues that aren't guaranteed 3 and 4 spots.

Or, maybe they want to keep it just as it is, with 4 clear 'big' leagues, where they can concentrate their marketing and advertising 'spend', and sell that product to the global audience.

This is where I think Celtic really could and should challenge the hegemony. We've a fan base that could command major investment, just not in the present context.

I thought Paddy would sign all week and I'm not going to follow the 'story' anymore. What's the point?

What the hell is wrong with the people of England Scotland& Wales. There must be something in the air or in the water .

Yesterday, Sunday I and over 72,000 others attended a hurling match in Croke Park, as at every GAA match there was no segaration of fans who sat and stood side by side fervently supporting their teams which were in fact playing in a local derby .
Fans entered and left the stadium side by side and no trouble just a bit of banter greeted by a laugh and a quick witted retort. Wait to I tell you right round the stadium behind stands were fast food outlets and even more bars, selling pints and some shorts before match at half time and I think full time and believe it or not although the bars were really busy , fans acted like adults . The only stewards I noticed were two young fellows chatting at half time and I saw one young policeman directing the flow of fans to where they were going after the game .
Why in England Scotland and Wales stewards and policemen look as they have been on a special body building programme for 30 yrs before they can take up their duty putting fans down and in their place . None of these people have publicly smiled for 25 yrs .

Maybe if fans at football match were treated with some respect and as adults, mixing together and with their peers nipping any bit of over boisterous behaviour in the bud the game of football could be enjoyed to the full. Current measures don't seem to work.

Unfortunately there a morons at every club that ruin it for the majority of good fans.

I work with Rangers fans that know finishing 2nd would be an achievement and live 5 mins from an orange lodge where morons spew there bigoted pish all over and believe 55 is coming or is it 4 😂😂

Football will never be like other sports and it's across the lands not just the UK.

It's more like 1 as lower league titles don't count and this team playing out of ibrox have never won't the top division. And before any zombie comes on. why didn't rangers fc play in Europe in 2012-13?

The major reason for our modern trouble is heavy handed stewarding and policing on top of crowd segregation.
Treat fans like mature adults and have them controlled by peers who can prevent trouble from escalating by timely word .
It appears police forces use football matches as guaranteed overtime.

Not really the same though Chris, is it? Hard to compare the rivalry between intercounty GAA teams to that of Celtic v Continuity Rangers, for example. Segregation isn't required because there is no threat of trouble. Drink is sold at Croker for the same reason. well that and the fact that they can charge upwards of a fiver for a pint of pish in a plastic cup.

Omc. isn't eire the place where you statistically are 6 times more likely to get shot than anywhere else in UK. drunken verbals / punch up at a football game a bigger problem?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2017 13:39:09
Of course it is a football problem . For over 50 years I have seen blundering police arrive at football matches on horse back . Police treating fans like criminals . It is time that football club boards told police to **** off and get their overtime chasing after the real criminals inc . White collar crime and tax evaders .
Treating fans like dirt gets a reaction and deservedly so.
Only Ibrox and the young five year old club need the police patrolling on horse back and swinging batons.
All normal clubs should work together to make matches an enjoyable experience.

Deep river bhoy, I don't understand the term Eire or if ut is a place where it is.

Omc? Could you let me know what you mean by not understanding the term eire (genuine question not an argument starter on my behalf) . and I didn't realise I'd written anywhere ELSE in UK until I read it back . if I've offended you with that association as part of the UK it wasn't my intention.

Neil Doncaster to meet with a delegation from the Celtic supporters Association tonight I really hope that they have a good solicitor with them and a recording of the interview both will have a good idea what both will say so I hope they have some curved ball questions to throw him off to me Doncaster is doing all he can to stop the back lash that is coming his way.

Was thinking that maybe was a mistake letting Christie go on loan before the qualifiers were done. He can play upfront.
But then they say hind sight is the best sight eh.

I'm 50/ 50 on the Christie situation. On one hand he's probably our 2nd best winger and could be solving some problems for us but on the other hand he's going to play a lot of games this season which could benefit us for many future seasons. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the hoops next year and hope he bangs them in for Aberdeen!

Dont think he's a winger sos he's more a no 10 mate.

He's not a winger sos.

14 Aug 2017 20:21:37
thought he was but where else is he going to play for us? It's the wing or filling in up front, we would have to sell 2 players before he gets a look in at the no10 role. where does he play for every one else?
