ED007 saw on news the new relaid pitch at Hampden, to my eyes pitch looked like there were gaps along some of the seams, surely pitch will not have had time to knit in properly and it could be dangerous in parts, what are your thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - My nephew is a landscaper, Tim and he said that if you lay turf you shouldn't use it for 4-6 weeks. I'm not very hopeful that the Hampden pitch will encourage our smooth passing game on Sunday.}

13 Mar 2015 19:48:50
It's all part of the establishments plans! They're like a big dick dastardly.

It surely is time the SFA and the SPFL boards were asked some cutting questions, they are rank rotten at what they are paid very well to do. Jaysus, they cannot even get a playing surface right.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 23:53:51
It's not that there isn't some well paid gardeners in the football fraternity that haven't got time on their hands and who could advised the SFA how to have the best possible

Maybe, we haven't much to crow about as our pitch has been rotten for months .

Wee Henderson has never let us down when given a chance. His dinked ball for gudetti to equalise against Milan was sheer class. He is always involved in the goals when he plays and always gives 100%. With so many midfield players injured or ineligable for the final I would love Ronnie to give the boy the start he deserves, he could be the ace up our sleeve.markie

Shout.

And he hasn't. The way RD was talking early season I thought we would have seen more rotation. Particularly Henderson. Perhaps he's been working on a few things. But now, If Bitton is knackered. It's a choice of Moving Johansen back (which I'm not a fan off) and bringing in Commons or just putting Henderson in there. With injuries/form/cup ties I think we'll see Commons in attack anyway so Henderson for me should get the nod. For such a young player he's a very calming and quite composed influence. Certainly kept his cool for that 'class' dink for JG against Inter.

13 Mar 2015 18:25:03
I agree jimtim I would leave johansen in the middle of the 3. Commons and stokes either side and henderson beside brown, griffiths up front and gudetti and forrest as impact players on the bench if we need them. Markie

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 23:57:52
I hope he doesn't bring Johanson back along side Brown . I think Stefan tries too hard in the middle of the field to play killer balls when often the simple lay off is better.

14 Mar 2015 08:26:07
Stokes should not be anywhere near the team. If we can get a million for him we will do well!?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 15:28:41
Surely the sales price for Stokes isn't relevent this week end . Team selection and tactics should be more important .
If trying to get money for Stokes in the summer is important then giving him game time would be worthwhile .

Fans of both Celtic and Dundee United are being asked to stand for a minute's applause in the third minute of the game at Hampden for the Tannadice great who lost his six year battle with dementia last year.
Please respect this applause I lost my mum to dementia and I don't wish that on any one

Believable3 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2015 17:56:20
Totally agree Tony, I also lost my mother who had dementia, it is totally heart breaking.
I'm sure the Celtic fans will join in the applause, in situations like this they never let you down.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - My mother-in-law is suffering with dementia right now. She was in a wheelchair and everyone blamed her meds for making her a bit dipsy and forgetful but it turned out to be the early stages of dementia. Strangely she doesn't need her wheelchair/walking aids as much now, the part of her brain that registers pain has been affected so she doesn't feel so much and can get around the house and garden a bit.}

13 Mar 2015 22:00:02
I feel for you and your family Ed your wife more so she will just have to grasp at any time she has with her mother still a lot of good times ahead I hope

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Not really mate, it's sad to see. I was over at Christmas and she kept forgetting which one of her daughters I was married to, she keeps thinking her man is her dad, stuff like that and that's the better days. You'll know yourself how it goes so there's no need to drag it all up for yourself, thanks for your post of support, Tony.}

14 Mar 2015 06:56:55
Totally agree guys, went to see my dad in hospital, after talking to him he had no idea who I was, just about the worst day ever.

Remember the good times mate, they pass all to quickly.

Just saw the paper this morning broonieeee lying on his arse steam boats as much as we are aloud to let our hair down now and again don't use all think it's the wrong time to be hitting the sauce with the final on Sunday

Believable3 Unbelievable1

13 Mar 2015 09:43:42
Probably not the best idea he's ever had but I'm still expecting a MOTM performance from him on Sunday. I actually read the article and it's complete trash. The guy who wrote it should be ashamed to call himself a "journalist"

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 11:19:51
At the end of the day if broonie wasn't pished 3 days before the biggest day of the season so far, there would be nothing to report.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 11:47:11
Believe it or not, Broonie does have a personal life away from football. He is doing absolutely no harm and game is on sunday, not tomorrow.

Some people have nothing better to do

13 Mar 2015 13:42:08
ANYTHING to sell a paper I could maybe see if it was on the eve of the game. Guess they have never been drunk before

13 Mar 2015 15:07:41
Ken what a load of crap, see if he plays murder on Sunday and gives everyone just cause to have s go at him then fine, but how many of us have played football got pissed night before and played a blinder next again day? And before you all say (this is different he's a pro and this is a final ) and stuff like that, I remember one of my all time fav players ( here we go to give me pelters ) but think gazza was actually steaming in half the game he played and IT never held him back!!, usual paper crap stirring it before the game, c'mon wee broonie ram their story down there throats

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 15:47:27
Totally disagree no matter how well he plays, he could have played better if he wasn't pished 3 days before the game, this is a professional athlete ffs on 25 grand a week . Do you think Floyd maywether gets drunk 3 days before a fight or bolt gets pished 3 days before an Olympic final . I don't give a **** if you've played well after getting pished with your pals before a game down the local park, this is a different level and is totally unprofessional, I would drop him, and just think how good a player gazza could have been if he wasn't running around pissed all the time .

There is no way on Henke's green earth that picture of Broony is from this week. Word on the street is that it was taken on the night of the league cup semi against the scousers

A total non story that the older members of the support were expecting all week. Over the years it's happened regularly on cup final weeks, negetive stories about the club or a player and remember the press need to try and get everyone looking away from the institutionalised racism and the backing of homophobia coming out of Sevco, even the tool who was trying to arrange free workers has been outed as a rancid and dangerous racist.

Is there any club in the world with a lower reputation than that lot? A convicted crook and tax evader, a racist homophobe, the doors flung open for a convicted terrorist who sent bombs to neil lennon and parading every hate filled bigot they could fit in the directors box the other night including Legless Leggat and Mark Dungawll who was banned from the howf because of his sectarianism and bigotry. I'd love to know confirmed bachelor Mark Dungwalls thoughts about Kwis Gwaham's homophobia ?

Like the Broony story the Sevco stories will comes as no surprise to members of our magnificent support.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 16:20:48
If that's when it was taken then he should come out and make a statement to that effect and that would be the end of it .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd say the pictures aren't from this week, look at his hair in the bottom pic taken earlier in the week, Leigh Griffiths would pay good money to have his hair grow that quickly!

13 Mar 2015 16:51:51
Definitely doesn't look like it's a recent photograph. Laughable journalism really.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - To be honest, Jimbo, I'm not convinced the pictures are as recent as AH suggests, look at the hairline, your hairline doesn't change so quickly in a matter of even weeks, I think the picture might be years old. His face in paper's picture also looks a lot chubbier than Brown usually looks these days.
The club or Brown should make a statement to clear it up one way or another.}

13 Mar 2015 17:27:01
Not sure what Rangers have to do with it but Brown is probably laughing it off as much as anybody. Case for libel? I don't know. If I were Brown, being the captain of the countries biggest club, and champions, I'd put a block on all 'exclusives' with that rag. In fact the club and all players should. Show that 'journalist' and 'editor' a bit of mutual respect.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 17:54:18
@JimTim It's to do with the press approach towards stories about either club. What do you think is more a front page story a newly appointed Sevco (who's Rangers?) director is a racist homophobe or a drunk footballer? Is an old pic of Broony really worthy of a front page when there's wars going on, people killing themselfs over dwp sanctions, MPs and the royals caught up in paedophile cover ups etc etc etc

The press are using this story to keep a lid on the rancid puss pouring out of £1brokes.

It's a classic PR tactic and probably being worked by Jabba Traynors new company, he doesn't need to only use the Record now.

Look at the publicity Jeremy Clarkson has got this week, all over the papers and news AGAIN for being a prat, is that really news?

They aren't called the gutter press for sod all.

For the record I think Celtic's PR leaves a lot to be desired, Ian Jamieson the Hearts supporter shouldn't be anywhere near the club, how the hell did lawwell get asked a question about Republicanism at a press conference about a kit deal.

PR men should have all the questions vetted before anything like that even starts, yet notice the easy ride anyone connected with Sevco off the press, why wasn't their new manager asked about their racist homophobic director?

Our club doesn't seem to play and use the media as well as some other clubs and I don't mean just Sevco but in the end I stil think we'd be fighting a losing battle. Kwis Gwahams tweets and writes articles containin anti irish racism and sectarianism for years yet it's only when its anti Muslim it is highlighted and then only when he resigns by some of the media.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 17:59:11
Ed, Mo chara, uve been reading to much Chris Spivey articles. Lol

Brown's are captain and a great professional and representative of ar club, F*** the gutter press. Don't believe it, like some other posters say, anything to take the light of Sevco.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hahaha I'm not as bad as that but Chris' method of comparing pictures can be a help with sorting out the BS. Although I think some of his stuff is far fetched about look-a-likes but you can't argue with pictorial evidence.}

13 Mar 2015 19:14:30
Fair enough AH aslong as you weren't just getting involved in some levelling it out between two clubs ;)

It's obvious there are people writing stuff about our club with an incredibly unfavourable stance. We all know that. The fact of a couple of red tops though is that they already now have a target audience which dislikes Celtic and they want to sell papers. That much I can totally accept. Dragging a player through the muck a bit before a big game? Very questionable. But if, and I think, they've just dug up some old bones and manufactured them, no, made something up - people need to lose jobs.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 19:36:05
Agree with a poster above, am expecting him to motor and be MOTM and say something cheeky afterwards lol

If the gutter press have tried to derail Celtic I honestly believe this will be used as a motivational aspect

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 20:10:39
If this story is true it blows a hole in the requirement to be a 24 hr athlete. So what does Ronnie do. To ignore it sends out the wrong message to the team. If it was anyone else, such as Stokes for example, he would be dropped, just as he was for going AWAL. If the story is a lie, then RD and Scott Brown should say it's untrue. If the story is correct how can RD play Brown and ignore the incident? What message does that send to the rest if the squad? It does not matter if he plays great on Sunday or not. I really hope this story is untrue so come on Celtic, put the record straight.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And the press have done their job.......

13 Mar 2015 23:11:42
Surely if the date of the pictures had been lied about then the club would have destroyed the paper publicly instead of refusing to comment?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 00:10:57
I don't know whether Andy Murray, Maywether gets drunk or sits down on kerb on the week before a big major tennis tournament or a big fight .
I would expect professional sportsmen to act responsible towards alcohol.
What does disappoint me is that many Celtic fans without one iota of evidence, apart from what the Sun offers, is prepared to believe that Brown was out on the drink this week . Printing the story was a double whammy for the Sun . This "story " moved the emphasis from the Chris Graham absurd appointment as Director of the Rangers, and split and divided the Celtic supporters before a cup final .
We all know what the MSSM are capable .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 00:52:53
if that was'nt scot brown in the pubic triangle in the westport in Edinburgh, during the week, surely he has got a big claim against the newspapers and media.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 03:53:48
If this is not a recent photo then the club and Broonie should sue the newspaper AND the person who wrote the article.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 11:07:21
Chris02 not one iota of evidence did you see the pictures, if it was not on Tuesday or Wednesday night the a simple statement would clear it up . You can't blame the press for running the story if it's true, for me it is very much a story if the captain is pished 3 or 4 days before the final . As for deflecting attention they did quite rightly run the story about rangers racist director and he resigned.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Mar 2015 12:07:15
Get A grip, even if this picture is recent which it isn't it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference! Scott Brown is our best player and captain. So what if he had to much to drink? Haven't you, the bhoy has sat down to have a munch probably waiting on his taxi home and nodded off. It's hardly evil. This story is to turn us against our captain and sadly the less intelligent members off our Support have taken the bait.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 13:15:02
I would say the less intelligent of our support are the sheep who fall for the old everyone is against us routine, there is no division in my support Celtic will get my full backing tomorrow as always, but I like many fans wonder if it was Forrest or Ambrose in the picture if the percentage of our easily led support would be blaming the paper and defending the player so ferociously.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 15:52:30
Fab1 there goes my green tinted glasses again, should I send you a spare pair . They are great Fab1, stops you self getting all upset and saves (unnecessary wife beating cat kicking etc) that can happen when the media cloud your natural judgement by creating untrue stories and backing it up with fake pictures, .

Ask yourself Fab1 who was likely to benefit by this total unnewsworthy front page story . Was this any benefit to the legally system, any benefit to Scotand's economy or was it of interests of those claiming benefits, none of these .
It was to blacken the name of the celtic Captain, divide the Celtic Support and give theSun's friends from Govan relief after C Graham's appointment Muslim cartoon and eventually retirement .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 20:53:50
I have no doubt the paper couldn't wait to print the story and that the reporter is probably on the fast track for promotion BUT if our captain is not out getting pished 3 days before the final then there is no story, if it was close season or even on a free weekend then I can accept it but not on the Wednesday night with a major final on the Sunday afternoon, it's totally unprofessional.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 00:55:07
I just want to say to my colleague who seemed to indicate my green tinted glasses were the reason I didn't see Virgil kick out on the ground at the Dundee Utd player in the manner he had, I forwarded those glasses to the SFA compliance office and they saw Virgiil had no case to answer .
I won't embarrish my fellow poster by naming him, but we all need to thank him for telling me about my special glasses which worked a treat .

Nice to be agreeing with you for once. I said at the time that I had watched the incident a number of times and couldn't see what VVD had done wrong and glad the Hampden beaks saw sense or maybe they thought they had to let him away with it after letting Ciftci off with trying to take Brown's head off.
