I said weeks ago that I opposed Murrayfield for any CL qualifiers, these games do not usually attract big crowds so say 25,000 in Murrayfield will create a lack of atmosphere and could work against Celtic. My solution was go to nearest Premier ground, so Motherwell's ground should have been chosen, not as far to travel and although a smaller capacity (18,000) the atmosphere would be much better.

Agree that Fir Park would be a crackin atmosphere Tim but it's just not big enough, would leave at least 15,000 ST holders without the chance of a ticket

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with that Tim but don't you think they'll give us the first round at murrayfield on season ticket. Would personally prefer to take a chance on getting to 3rd qualifing round and get ST game at Celtic Park.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course, they could do something way outside the box, like charge a tenner. 60,000 x 10 is 600k. 25,000 x 25 is 625k. Assuming extra programme sales, drinks etc etc price would not mske a difference. Great chance for an experiment. i'm willing to bet it will be 30 quid minimum though, and we end up with two thirds of the ground empty.

Whats happened wit tony watt?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2014 17:02:34
So Tony Watt has been relegated to Lierse's B-squad because of the interview he gave.

I thought all along he should have been brought back in January instead of spending the money on Griffiths.

Now it is looking more and more likely that we will be lucky to see him playing for us again no matter what Neil Lennon says publicly, but do I hope I'm wrong. There's obviously a strained relationship between Lennon and Watt.

Does anyone else see him having a way back into the fold at Celtic?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope so but doubt it as he seems to have the wrong attitude to fulfil his potential. Too big for his boots because of one goal against Barca. Shame as he has great potential and there is nothing better than seeing one of us making it in the hoops

Agree0 Disagree0

Che, unless he is up lennons a##e, I don't think we will see him again. He should be starting, no point in signing youth if they won't get a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

It's very doubtfull Che.
The writing was on the wall when he was loaned out.
Unfortunately, Watt is solely to blame for the position he is in!
Thrown into action at the right time and does himself no harm and kicks on, does eff all after that and trains like Riordans twin brother, aswell as the fallout that landed him at Leirse.
Out of probably all of the youngsters he'd be one i'd have back in the squad (head screwed on) and look forward to seeing.
Ahead off Griffiths? No! Ahead of Balde offffffftt. Too right, and also pukki.
Watt will be back, but will he be shipped out again on loan or for good?
Or (which I doubt) will he have learned the hard way and realised how good he could have made of it and how good a position he was in? Hopefully.

The Wee Free minister was addressing his
congregation about the abominations of drinking alcohol, getting firmly into his stride he shouted "if I had barrells of beer I would throw them all into the river, then if I had kegs of whisky I would throw them in river also, " ending his tirade against drink the minister said "even if I was given copious amount of wine I would throw everything also into the river"
As he sat down the choirmaster then stood up and announced "let us sing our final Hymn number 432
LET US GATHER BY THE RIVER."

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jeez Louise Tim, where do you get these jokes from mate?

That's got to be one of your worst ones yet!

Back to the drawing (writing) board I think lol and bring back your Wee Pat character.

Ha ha Che "WEE PAT" oh I wish, I would be a millionaire and all my comedy scripts on tv lol
but what is it with people on these sites, I have been accused of being Miko, of being god knows how many different people on the Sevco site (as our ED007 will testify) some time ago I was even accused of "split personalities" on the blooming Liverpool site.
The truth is I am humble TIMALLOY anywhere I go.

Interesting comments from Aiden McGeady today. He says he thinks Celtic fans and players are suffering from a lack of competition, and lack of motivation, all brought about by Rangers' demotion. He also says he thinks it will improve when Old Firm games are back on a regular basis when Rangers get promotion to the Premiership.

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I read that this morning and saw a poll in the Daily Ranger about 'if Celtic miss Rangers' It's not really the question that most Celtic fans want to answer. The question should be 'if Celtic miss the competition without Rangers' and the answer to that would be yes but as far as missing them? Not a chance!

Agree0 Disagree0

I must admit I do miss playing them but I don't think they'll make the league anymore competitive for a long long time when they do get back to our level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stating the bloody obvious but some people are totally naive and say they don't miss them.

Agree0 Disagree0

How are The Rangers going to bring more compitition to the SPFL when they are promoted as early as next season.
They are not the same team as the original rangers. Players are not SPFL level bar a few. They have no money to buy anything that is SPFL level and still have a tough league to try and gain promotion from next season.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think they got demoted, they got liquidated and had to apply as a new club did they not? All this 1872 crap and 140 years of bigoted history is over.
The new entity will progress up the leagues (further administration allowing) with more penalties and opponents red carded until the tribute act prevails.
Don't miss the hatred, sectarianism and the million 'honest mistakes' by referees in those games; but miss a serious rival - however Aberdeen have proved this season that they are a serious contender for that vacancy.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I don't really care what an Everton substitute has to say about our club or the Scottish game in general.

He might think Celtic fans miss Rangers but I can tell you, I for one am not missing him in the slightest!

He is nothing but an earlier version of James Florist and neither were, are or ever will be good enough for Celtic.

The fans who do miss Rangers will just have to contend with Sevco when they make their debut in the top league of Scotland.

I'd say it will be 2 or 3 years before we need to batten down the hatches when they get out of the Championship, and that's my honest opinion.

There will be good teams in there and with Sevco's financial troubles they won't be able to strengthen, that plus The Turd hasn't got a clue against part-time teams so how the hell is he going to manage in a higher division.

Agree0 Disagree0

McGeady doesn't have clue what's going on in scottish football. Personally I don't miss old firm games. They, like their club are in the past and you get used to life without them.

Personally I think the only competition we are going to have for foreseeable future is Aberdeen. that's with sevco in premiership.

Mcgeady should concentrate on keeping bench warm at everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people are showing their footballing naivety if they think rangers won't romp championship next season.time for a little bit of honesty not just follow a fanciful thought that we don't need their presence, we do need them to push us on domestically

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Jim, how can you say that when even The Turd is saying he needs money to strengthen his squad - money they don't have for that matter.

I reckon Hearts will win that league next year.

Shockingly they are on a sounder financial footing than Sevco and a group of young players whom their manager has playing a half decent standard of football ie. they pass the ball on the deck.

The Turd can only get his team to play hoofball and championship journeymen defenders will easily counter that, they have been defending against it for years.

I have no doubt that without major investment or replacing The Turd as manager Sevco will struggle in the Championship next year.

Let's not forget that Sevco s wagebill will increase next season as the pay rises kick in putting even further strain on their critical finances.

And that is me not even considering any insolvency event that could befall them.

If there are Celtic supporters that are missing them then that's fair enough, but please don't generalise and tar us all with the same brush to try to justify your own feelings.

It will be a long time before they are in any position to challenge us Jim, unless our board f**ks it up BIG time, which wouldn't surprise me either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Che, not always a keen supporter of your comments; a bit harsh on the best run team in Europe lol but this time spot on mate.
By the way can anyone tell me what the bonus payments will be/are for the tribute band of heroes now they have won the 3rd tier of Scottish Football with 8 games still to play. and will that alone bring them down?

Agree0 Disagree0

Do yourself a favour Che and check the title odds for next season I bet they are long odds on shots to win the league . Yes they may go into admin or worse again but their current squad will win that league regardless what Sally says

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Weren't we favourites to win the Scottish and League Cups Jimbo?}

Yes we were favourites but as we know all too well under Lenny if you don't play well in knock out cups you go out but over 36 games does a long odds on shot usually lose?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I just don't think it will be as easy for them as some people think, let's face it, they're muck.}

13 Mar 2014 20:45:49
Jim has the 1972 in your name hold any significance? I get the feeling you need to change your wording in your posts from" they" and "them" to "we" and "us"

Agree0 Disagree0

That's right Stevie if someone has a different view they must be sevco very witty of you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to be clear .Stevie, Jim is my name and 1972 is my birth year are the dots significant to you?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 21:26:29
Jim I'm no the one here trying to tell people to be honest with themselves and admit they are missing them. If you are not an imposter, then you must be one of those pathetic supporters who I posted about weeks ago that claim to hate them but can't live without them. At least in your favour Jim you're admitting you're missing them! Aw how sweet

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally understand the differing opinions on the matter. My Celtic supporting mates do tend to sway more towards wanting Rangers up there with them though.

One thing I do dispute strongly is JJ's comment about Aberdeen showing they are a serious contender to challenge Celtic. I get that they have beaten Celtic a couple of times, but who are you kidding? How many points in front are Celtic from them?

There is only one team in Scotland that will ever be capable of challenging Celtic and that is Rangers, that is an absolute fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - How many divisions are Celtic in front of The Rangers never mind points? What are you basing this on Steven, that's what I can't understand. As things stand right now Aberdeen are in a far better and stronger position than The Rangers to mount any challenge to Celtic in the near future.}

Tell me Stevie do you enjoy going to spfl matches nowadays waiting to hear if someone has scored against aberdeen this year or Motherwell last year. There are a lot of things I don't miss about them but I do miss having a serious challenge that a dropped point might mean something not just an unbeaten run and wouldn't it be better to finish 20 or 30 points ahead of them to have bragging rights at work etc

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 22:35:41
First of all StevenC at least call them by their rightful name they are not Rangers as you knew them before, I hope you realise as well that there will never be such a thing again as an old firm game that's gone. Secondly there is not a chance this tribute act can challenge us over a season for the foreseeable future

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 22:40:11
Jim I have enough bragging rights at work by reminding them that the team they used to support are no longer in existance, and the club they now follow are the Newest club in Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 10:11:29
I'd just like to send my ahem. Congratulations to scotlands newest formed team on their second ever trophy. At this rate they could be in a position to stop us from doing 67 in a row. Unless of course they encounter financial difficulties in the big leagues. I'm sure they'll learn a salutory fiscal lesson from the demise of a team, once quite a big team in Scotland called, oh what was their name? Oh yes rangers I believe they called themselves ( look them up on the history channel).

Anyway well done and see you in three or four years in the top league.

I can honestly say hand on heart I don't miss Rangers FC one little bit. Champions league nights easily better any old firm game. As for that club that won the 3rd tier last night who think they are the same club who last played in the top flight in season 11-12 don't interest me one little bit, and if they do reach the top flight I will look upon them for what they are and that is a new club
