I wish Celtic would just pay the £5 million plus and get the striker from Bratislava, who is a proven goal scorer with a goal a game. Instead we are paying £3.5 million for a player who has scored one goal in every 5 games. Granted he has hit a purple patch in the last couple of months but I don’t think that’s enough to warrant such a big move to Celtic.

I am predicting he will come in and he won't be any better than Griff on current form. We will be stuck with 3 forwards struggling to score a goal between them as back up to Edouard. If he doesn’t hit the ground running, then we have a big problem because normally I would be shouting to give the 21 year old time but Celtic don’t have time this season for another project.

He has scored 7 goals and has 3 assists in 17 matches for his club and 2 goals in 5 matches for the Polish u21's, so by my maths that is a goal every 2.5 games and not every 5 games plus it has been mooted that Sprorar wanted to go to Sporting Lisbon.

The boy sporar didn't want to come to us he wanted to goto sporting Lisbon. So it didn't matter about the transfer fee.

People on here want sporar who they had never heard of 2 weeks ago because he'll cost 1.5 mill more than the pole . his scoring exploits look similar, it's bonkers and the same every window. seeing is believing.

Sporar and Klimalas goal scoring record ain’t similar at all mally! Sporar has quite a bit of experience compared to Klimala, and a far better scoring record. agree that we didn’t know either of them a few weeks ago but Sporar looks the better bet. i have absolutely no problem waiting to see if the young pole is up to the job but for me it’s a massive risk bringing in yet another untested player! We’re going for 9 in a row and the pressure will be immense in the next few months. can we look to a young guy with barely 20 top flight appearances to his name? I have serious doubts that we can. and what happened to the experience lennon was looking to bring in? Klimala 21 and supposedly Soro 21! Said it before and I’ll say it again, lennon hasn’t a a scooby about our transfer dealings!

I didn’t know Sporar was away to Sporting Lisbon and I didn’t want him because he cost more. I wanted him because he was a goal machine. Celtic need someone with that same pedigree. Royjac, I mentioned Paddy was on decent form recently but overall he has played 41 games in the Polish top flight and scored 8 goals, so he is a one goal in 5 games striker. The stats don’t lie, he is more of a project than what Bayo is. The whole scenario is a disgrace. Celtic have the money to get players in that are going to instantly push for a place in the starting eleven. If the reports are correct, we are signing another 2 projects and at this stage and the position Celtic find themselves in, is just not good enough. Soro has played less games than Paddy and has a worst disciplinary record for games played than Fredo.

Frimpong has been a huge bonus for us but he’s came in for buttons with absolutely no pressure on him. this lad has cost 3.5m and has the pressure of helping eddy up top! Like I said, I’m willing to give the boy a chance to see what he can do. but nobody can deny it’s a huge risk bringing in someone with so little experience when 9in a row is on the line!

Mally, coming on and saying I told you so, is not going to cut it. We have the funds to make a difference in this transfer window and if we mess it up and lose the league. I told you so is not going to make much consolation.

Tell me about it I want the best same as the rest of the posters, but the boy sporar is playing in the Slovakian league not the serie A or the bundesliga, shankland is a goal machine but most don't want him . that's my last word on it time will tell fingers crossed 🤞.

Ed if Soro comes in do you think Brown will have less game time and Calmac will be dictating the tempo?

{Ed007's Note - I honestly doubt it will affect Brown's game-time this season and I think there's more chance of us playing with 3 CMs. My views on McGregor being the main playmaker are well documented on here and I think it would make a massive difference to the team>

Another project we don’t need at this time of the season. Soro has only played 27 times in 2 full years in Israel scoring no goals but has been booked 14 times and sent off 3 times. The Polish striker another project, has only played 6 full 90 minutes in the league since the start of last season. That is probably why he has only scored one goal in every 5 games in the top flight of Polish football. An absolute joke. If I am wrong and they both turn out to be good signings then the new recruitment guy is a genius.

Has anyone got some Genuine information on Klimala that might be of interest? Is he a player that has been tipped for good things and is there any potential there? There must be something about him if we are spending €4m on him? ED have u got anything on this guy?

To us supporters he’s a bit of an unknown but certainly he’s being talked up in his homeland. Zurawski has said he’s the hottest young talent in the country. I’m not saying that means anything but we just have to see what this guy can do when he steps out onto the field. A lot of fans are saying they are underwhelmed by The lad but let’s wait and see he may be an absolute gem. Time will tell. I for one am willing to give him a chance.

I sometimes wonder what some fans expect, it's not as if we're going to be in for top-end players from England or France where mediocre players go for millions (Harry Maguire for £80 million - more than VVD - and I honestly wouldn't swap Ajer for him) so we need to look at the level below that.
There's been plenty of signings I wasn't keen on for one reason or another - some I've made an ar$e of it and there's some I've been spot on about - but I always give them a chance and see what they can do once they're settled etc. and Klimala deserves the chance to show what he can do.
I'm just hoping Hammond has had input on the transfer targets and we're trusting someone apart from Lawwell on players ability/potential.
I still think we need to have a serious look and possible overhaul of the scouting system but that can take time and again hopefully Hammond can get that sorted out.}

Surely any half decent striker, that's fully fit will contribute more that bayo or griff, because tbh they have been terrible.
It's the "10 iar" game we are playing. Some fans are panicking and think household names are the answer.
Maybe just a young guy coming in, with no fear, just like frimpong could be a shot in the arm we need.
Time will tell but give the guy a chance.
Every signing is a gamble.

Lennon was waxing lyrical about Hammond at the AGM Ed so hopefully that's a positive sign that he's having the biggest input on scouting matters.

Just seen there’s a storm called Brendan coming to decimate the west coast of Scotland? I thought he left last year to go to Leicester the rat? I don’t know what you folks think about the new signings it’s always good to get new blood in but I feel our team needs new first 11 players not more squad players I maybe wrong we will soon see? Also positive seeing Shved and Arzani close to being back but will they get starts ahead of the so called big boys? Let’s hope we have a driven and hurting squad and we respond similarly to last season! Mon the hoops make mine a quadruple treble 🏆🏆🏆🍀.

Soro and the Polish guy are risk buys and they could easily turn out to be another Bayo. Lennon said he was bringing in experienced players in this transfer window to help the youngsters. We need to get experience in to help us get over the line because we are taking a gamble on players who have not been tested in British football and Celtic haven’t got time for them to adjust. I would get in good loan signings from the EPL similar to Wanyama and they can hit the ground running.

I don't buy into this best league in the world fantasy.

Anything coming from there, whether be loan or otherwise is going to cost double and any that are deemed not good enough for a Burnley or a Bournemouth, really aren't good enough for us, in my opinion.

I think its really difficult to be sure with players too many factors. Being experienced does not mean they have the same hunger as younger guys do. let's just wait and see at least we are signing players that look the part the rest is up to the player and coaching staff. I feel personally that the type of players we are starting to sign are of a better quality with great potential this is our market and sometimes they will work others wont, exact same with experienced players. I just wish all our new signings when they sign all the best and hope they work out well.

Yernawsbaws, I would prefer someone from the EPL because they would have had experience playing fast and physical british style football. Getting foreign players in from foreign leagues in is a bigger gamble because they usually take a longer time to adjust to our style of football and now is not the time to be taking such gambles. Celtic need players to step up now, which is hard enough in this transfer window.
