Is it just me or do the fans want different things from the players and manager at our club. I feel I would rather we won trophys than keep going all season unbeaten. This team may well go down in the history books for going undefeated all season, I would rather we win cups and be the dominant force in scottish football.

I'd take a treble, or double, or even just the league with a decent run in Europe over some unbeaten record in a one horse race. If we got to the knockout stage of the EL or CL then you could accept not winning the domestic cups, but being out of Europe (n one of the cups) by Christmas then there was no excuse to lose to Aberdeen last weekend. Especially with Lennon opting for the trip to Turkey over a league game so the players would be fresh for the league/cup run in to May!

I can't see us going unbeaten to be honest. We will no doubt slip up somewhere along the line. That'll leave us with very little to shout about this season. Europe was a shameful series of games, we're out of 2 cups and we'll win the league without any fuss. People will say that we can only beat the opposition in front of us but when we can't even do that at times it demonstrates an overall weakness in our set up. Don't get me wrong, like the rest of you I'll continue to give all the support I can and I'll never be tempted to walk away but we're all allowed a grumble from time to time. We're not living up to our "big club" name tag when it matters.

This could turn out to be the longest pre-season ever. I fear that because this run we are on we will stick to the same players and same system with 1 up. I think we need to mix it up give fringe players more game time and start playing with 2 or more upfront.

For me personally, it's not a worthy unbeaten streak if you don't go for it in matches and beat teams convincingly, not this "we scored on the 8th minute park the bus" mentality, that's what cost us against the dons, we''ve played that way for so long the players don't even know what to do when the going gets tough. The team are shackled, look at the 7-0 hearts game, shackles off and we tore them to shreds

The season has been a real damp squib from as far back as selling our top players in the summer and almost failing to qualify for the CL to the Aberdeen defeat last weekend.
To go from CL last 16 and a double to this seasons failings is hard to take.
Without a serious rival and with the resources and cash compared to the rest of Scotland we have got to be winning trophies - or at least getting to finals and arguing about it later.

The manager had no choice but to make this unbeaten run a priority - as we have nothing else to play for; but the players will let him down at some stage as they have done before and it will be partly his own fault with either poor team selection, tactics or substitutions as has gone before.

I'm guessing many of you on here wouldn't hold the A-League in high regard, but Tommy Rogic has been a standout since his loan move to Melbourne Victory. I really hope he is brought back to Celtic for next season. He'll definetely be going to Rio, and if he does well, there may be offers for his services, though I hope the board declines and keep him at Celtic. He's getting the game time he needed and it's working.

never understood why he never got a chance cause when he did come on for 15 minutes and the odd start there was something about him. the lad gave his all as far as I could see

biton I feel is in the same ship as rogic was in a year ago. when he plays he looks good and comfortable on the ball and then on the bench for 10 games

The club have been seriously at fault for neglecting the progress of young players this season. Watt, Biton, Rogic, McGeough, Atajic, Balde and next will be the young Icelandic striker I reckon.
We have been well ahead in the league for months and out of Europe by November 2013.
So there is no excuse and you can't tell me ALL of them were not good enough, because if so that would highlight an even more serious issue.

Well said JJ
Too many players come to us and never develop. We seem to bring in a lot of players who don't get a chance. Are we so bad at judging them before they come in that we only realise the truth when they're here? We can't let the success of a few (Wanyama, Hooper etc.) to mask the fact that our conversion ratio is very poor indeed.
My biggest criticism has to be our inability to develop young players at Lennoxtown to make it a viable financial proposition. It seems only Forrest and McGeady have ever really made the breakthrough. McGeady fecked off at the first real sniff of money and Forrest, well we all have our opinions about his degree of success.

My mate, a bit of a betting man, just asked me if I knew of any football tips.
"Yes, Ibrokes I replied!"
