We should be used to playing against financely rigged teams by now after playing against 1 for 10 years .

Well said Sir.

13 Sep 2017 06:36:43
Listened to all the comments about how badly we played last night, even heard the words embarrassed and shocking used. Sitting listening to half the guys around me at the game, some I doubt have actually ever played the game where coming away with some pish too. The team we played lastnight were bought to win the champions league! I can honestly admit that was the strongest team to play at Paradise in my time. Over the years there have been decent sides with 5 or 6 stars in each, that was a totally different animal lastnight. They have far more depth than any i have actually seen. I'd back that team to win the CL and we can't be too dis-heartened. Although it was sore to watch, sometimes we just have to tip our caps and say fair enough. In Brendan I trust! HH.

Agree1 Disagree1

Av never understood the argument about how far a fan went in the game at what level. Who cares? Does that mean they shouldn't have an opinion just cause they never played junior or pro? U don't need to have played the game to understand it.

We need to invest more than Β£5m into the team. We need s CB a fullback and a keeper. We all knew that before a ball was kicked.

I think we were intimidated by their ability and our players were scared to make passes and when we did the nerves meant our passing was woeful.

Ntcham was anonymous, absolutely dire. Nobody seemed able to do the simplest things. It was better in the second half but even Rogers admitted that's easy at 3 down with them coasting.

It was always going to be about us and Anderlecht, but I honestly didn't think we would crumble to the point we couldn't make a ten yard pass. The defence us an utter shambles and we are stuck with it.

For me we talk a good game about wanting to belong in the CL then spend washers, go into the qualifiers with no cb's or striker. Ice said it before, if this balls up had been under Ronnie he would have been slaughtered for being out of his depth in relation to preparing for the CL. Rogers should also be held responsible because he made an arse of it.

Getting defeated was always on the cards, it was that pathetic first half, when we couldn't string two passes together or get within a yard of them that hurt more.

Be good to get back to playing shite teams and we can convince ourselves we are better than we actually are.

Anderlecht away will tell us all we need to know. My confidence about handling them for the Europa has been dented. Even with Boyata back our defence is still shite. No doubt the winter window we will have the same flapping about and reluctance to spend on quality better than what we have.

The bank balance has taken that step forward, pity the fecking team haven't.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Sep 2017 09:14:57
cant judge the team on last night Magic, they will rip teams apart that have spent mega bucks, they bought the players to win the champs league, yet its the same people that want us to be in this comp that are constantly moaning about results, what did people expect, Istill maintain that id prefer the europa as that's about our level.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Sep 2017 09:55:04
I totally expected them to win. It was the collapse and inability through nerves to make s simple pass. Lustig will need to be told he doesn't have the ability to make risky cross field passes. Boyata should sit in on the talk too when he comes back.

I thought we would struggle defensively but going forward I hoped we could make an impression.

Roberts, Griff and Sincy were poor. Edouard looked no better. Ntcham was an empty jersey too. I agre this team looked absolutely brilliant, but how can we tell how serious their challenge will be when we couldn't pass a baw ten yards, forward at least, the sideways and back passing was all we could do.

Reality check served up. Not in relation to the gulf, in relation to how we crumbled. Had no confidence to even do the simplest things. They say the winter window is but the best and if we end up bottom of the group we won't buy and will have a repeat of this years fiasco if we can't find a Β£20m prospect for buttons.

That's my worry, not were we are, but the lack of balls to spend money to improve it. Talk is cheap and Lawell lives cheap. Boy does he love cheap,

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2017 12:46:29
spot on magicpole, the lack of ambition from lawwell and co stinks to the high heavens.

12 Sep 2017 22:24:34
Poor performance but this is how it feels to be the other 11 clubs in the SPFL getting turned over week in week out. Next game against anderlecht is the must win. Think Ralston done well but putting him up against Neymar was lamb to slaughter. Used to be disappointed at results like this in Europe but this is just the reality of the game nowadays. There are only a handful of teams with any real chance of being champions of Europe.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

12 Sep 2017 22:44:20
Agree money in the game is ruining football even anderlecht away will be one of celtics hardest matches this season I hope we win there but that's all I can say is hope this is a different level from our bread and butter.

It's ok well get revenge in Paris :)

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Sep 2017 23:09:21
Would love that Sammy but would just be happy with respectable score line in Paris. Good run in Europa league would keep me happy, and to keep up the momentum for 10 in a row.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 23:34:34
Another poor performance? Maybe in first half, but sometimes you just need to tip yer cap to something good (with the exception of that little mutant Neymar)

Me personally can't really fault any1 tonight, maybe the penalty (big Jozo)

But that mob were class. We won't face a tougher team in this group

Onwards and upwards, as long as we get more points than anderlecht, I'm happy

The boy Ralston was superb btw πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€.

{Ed007's Note - It's never going to happen but I'd be a panty-wetting mofo if PSG got bombed out the CL for breaching FFP and we beat Anderlecht to 2nd! #UnseenFenianHand #OpusDei #PedroECAPosse
If they start throwing teams out the CL for FFP breaches and all their dodgy deals we could win this! :-D #GoingFor2

13 Sep 2017 02:21:40
Realistically it was always between us and anderlecht for 3rd place psg are excellent, and Bayern are Bayern.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Sep 2017 06:41:28
What's the chances of that happening Ed this bastardised version of the "champions league" is about keeping the big teams rich and making sure there all included if UEFA started to throw the big teams out they would risk them all getting together and telling UEFA to stick it they would form there own "champions league"

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's why I said, "It's never going to happen".}

12 Sep 2017 22:16:05
We've got our homework to do for the return leg, that's a wake up call I suppose we were expecting in fairness.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

12 Sep 2017 21:55:14
Perspective required, psg will go the whole road, considering the wet conditions, their passing and control was the best I have seen for a long, long time. Pressing excellent, work off the ball superb.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

12 Sep 2017 22:04:39
Hard to argue wae that. They are a good team.

Agree2 Disagree3

12 Sep 2017 22:10:41
Would their passing and control and possession have looked so impressive if the Celtic players had managed to pass the ball to a team mate, talk about making the opposition look good, how good did PSG have to be, when we kept giving the ball back to them,

Agree2 Disagree4

12 Sep 2017 22:20:23
I have no bad feelings about the game tonight at all. They are worth over half a Billion quid. Im realistic and thought we would get beaten easily. Youve just got to doth yer cap and move to the next game, which is far more important than this game. 2 games is all we have in this group, other 4 games are write offs in my opinion. A wee glimmer of a chance maybe with munich at home, that's it.

Agree3 Disagree3

12 Sep 2017 22:31:34
Not easy being the other spfl teams that's what it was like Celtic v hamilton in reverse but I've got to say psg defenders class midfield class fowards class even their keeper was good neymar class as in skill as a person no class.

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Sep 2017 22:42:30
I thought neymar refusing to shake young Ralstons hand was a bit out if order, despite the score line I thought the young boy did ok against the world's most expensive player.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Sep 2017 23:39:38
Its the hand covering his mouth whilst he's having a pop at ralston. Slimey sleekit coward. that's brazilian speakers for you😁.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Sep 2017 23:57:54
Bhampot u are right that sickened me more than no hand shake he's a class player I've no problem with that but have some class your team won I wonder what he said to the kid Ralston who never once covered his mouth.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Sep 2017 21:50:16
As good as psg were, i can't remember a heartless performance like that at home. Showed fear from start to finish and it showed big time when we were in possession. They can spend all the money they want but we made it too easy for them and although it wouldn't have made a difference tonight a top CB should have been bought. Very frustrating. Fair play to them though, they will take some beating.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

12 Sep 2017 22:10:36
They will take some beating, but I hope they do.

Agree0 Disagree2

12 Sep 2017 21:47:45
Lets put this perspective. Did we really expect to win this game, I doubt anyone with an understanding of the game did, maybe scrape a draw if we were really lucky. But I am disappointed in the performances of some of our players, put under pressure their passing at times was terrible. Better in the second half but still not good enough. Yeah some decisions went against us, that happens no matter who you play. I only hope that this lesson is learnt well by all the players. Must give a well done to Ralston really showed some determination and fight. I know the green tinted glasses brigade will most likely disagree with this. But take a step back and think about this game, what did we want to do. My opinion is keep the score down because it will be goal difference that decides third place. Sorry rambling now.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 Sep 2017 22:04:25
Is it not the head to head that will decide between us and anderlecht, im sure the CL used that method before.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 22:23:16
Yep it's the head to head that decides it if necessary. They were good we were poor it happens (we do it regularly to teams in the spl) .
This is champions league football we are at the big table let's enjoy it. Considering the opposition thought our Young bhoys at full backs can hold there heads up high and will be better for it.
Back to real business on Saturday domestic domination on our way to 10 HH.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 21:45:02
Feeling deflated, boy's v men, however I will always support my team, question, given the ins and outs how much have we actually spent to improve the team, and how much have the shareholders made from the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

12 Sep 2017 21:56:33
Obvious gulf in class, however we did start very poorly and had a nervousness and struggled in the system chosen. They seemed to snuff out any threat we did manage with ease and there were too many times our wingers were crowded out without support.
I had resigned myself to a 3-0, but thought we raised our game for a time in the second half but here we are again on night one of the CL with yet another unwanted record! (highest home defeat) - feeling deflated and disappointed but roll-on the next game and hurry back MD and DB.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Sep 2017 00:57:41
Never turned up. Saw their class and retreated into their shell afraid to make s mistake and hesitant. Our passing was like sevco last year.
A bit better second half but still lacking.

Defence is a shambles and maybe now we might spend money on players.

I won't hold my breath though.

12 Sep 2017 21:42:45
Other than in a blue shirt, I think Neymar is the most revolting individual I have seen at Parkhead.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

12 Sep 2017 22:01:37
I agree. Think he has a better chance of winning an oscar than a ballon d'or. For me his refusal to shake hands with young Ralston was the icing on the cake. PSG have a phenomenal team so not really surprised we lost. Now I know how the other fans feel when they play us in the league. At the end of the day don't care who wins the champions league as long as it is not PSG.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Agree1 Disagree3

12 Sep 2017 20:50:46
Am only listening on the radio, but I think it's the same old Barcelona story, the team are afraid of the opposition, they are not putting PSG under pressure because they are afraid of leaving spaces on the back, think that's a mistake taking Armstrong off, another thing will the ed and all the panty wetters defend the idiot that tried to assault the osg player?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I think you need to learn what a pantwetter is before trying to be a smart arse. Were you sitting raging and shouting at the radio about it?}

12 Sep 2017 21:16:21
Think it's a mistake to take Griffith's off, should have been Roberts, LG would be more effective than Paddy tonight.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 21:24:17
In my eyes a pantywetter is someone who defends someone breaking the rules, because they get really excited when someone breaks the rules/ laws, because they think that's great, and when that guy ran onto the park, and made his way to try and kick what's his name, the panty wetters were all urging him on, yeah get the little foookre, and then someone pulls them up on it, what about the eufa fine?, f the eufa fine, and all the panty wetters take up the chant, f the eufa, f the eufa, is that not how it is Ed?

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - That's not what a pantywetter is mate, a pantywetter's someone who gets upset about things that they can't control and try and dictate how people behave by using such garbage as 'the Club's reputation', 'think of the children', 'what about UEFA fines', 'ground closures', 'how dare they....', and 'who do they think they are'. They're more than most a general all round preachy sanctimonious tosser that thinks he's some kind of superfan that everyone else should strive to be like or at least do what HE says. He'll keep you right about how Celtic fans should behave.}

12 Sep 2017 21:27:59
Tom Rogic has been way off it since coming on. He's looked hopeless tonight and I'm a fan.

Agree0 Disagree2

12 Sep 2017 21:45:08
Well l hope all those who wanted the glamour ties and big clubs are happy after that tonight. Words apart l am afraid and against l team we just can't compete with. Too much quality for us to compete with.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 21:47:14
As i said, I was only listening on the radio, forget about how good PSG were, or were made to look good by Celtic, how many passes were misplaced by Celtic, that was nothing to do with how good PSG were, that was to do with Celtic, it's all on the mind, PSG got into Celtics head, we will now get all the excuses of how good the Paris team are, but it's all rubbish, think back to how good Blackburn Rovers looked, how good munchenglafbach looked, forget what you have seen, don't listen to all the commentators, all the experts, Celtic made this team look good, better than they are.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 21:48:30
I didn't get a ticket and they don't show on the telly what did the pitch invader do?

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Sep 2017 22:00:42
Totally disagree, the quality of the opposition has nothing, or should have nothing to do with the ability of a player to pass to a teammate, and as I said I am listening to the radio listening to these guys eulogising howgood PSG were, but the fact is, Celtic were bad, bad bad, I think it was a mistake to play Roberts, he hasn't played enough this season, maybe he should have done it the other way around, play Forrest, then bring on Roberts on for the last half hour, he should have kept Armstrong on, I think in the return game with the proper tactics, Celtic can get a result in Paris.

Agree0 Disagree3

"think that's a mistake taking Armstrong off". You can tell you were just listening to it on the radio as if you were st the game you would have seen that he was rotten. It was a man down having him on in the first half. Rogic on for him at half time was the right substitution.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought that although he was an improvement on Armstrong, Rogic struggled to make much of an impression on the game either. I thought Sutton was being a bit harsh on Rogic on the commentary by singling him out for a fair bit criticism during the game.}

12 Sep 2017 18:39:01
Never got a ticket for the game so am gealous of all u lucky buggers goin. Give them hell bhoys. Am thinking we can sneak this tonight. 3-2.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

12 Sep 2017 22:18:13
Obviously the level of team makes it difficult to find a pass to a team mate. It's about filing spaces and finding spaces on the pitch. When the first pass is played there should be 3 players ready to move for the next pass and so on. Most teams will play around 6 passes or less before you are looking to play the chance making pass or get a shot off on goal. You think a junior team could go out and play psg tonight and be able to " find a pass" behave.

That being said, I hope we get a wee result tonight.

Girls just in early about to get their tea, then all 3 of us off to Celtic Park.
I am buzzing and scared at same time, just hope team do themselves justice tonight.
I think this could be another Man City type game 2-2, 3-3 etc.
I see bookies have now cut our odds to 7/ 1 from 12/ 1 I guess a lot of Tims must have jumped on the big odds. But bigger odds can be found in the Bayern-Anderlecht game where the Belgians are a massive 25/ 1 to win and 12/ 1 to draw, I am on at those prices.
Girls have Armstrong 4/ 1 anytime scorer and Griffiths 11/ 4
My bets I put up earlier but get on Neymar booking at 7/ 4.

Bloody French! Coming over here and bringing politics into football... How dare they shame their club, what's Palestine got to do with the Champions League?
I have no doubts that PSG forums will be full of people wanting these knuckledraggers barred from watching their team!

Shocking ed hope eufa take them to task haha belter they'll be fine eufa only punish the clubs from the wee countries.

{Ed007's Note - As long as there were some Celtic fans there to have a stern (staunch?) word with the visitors about dragging our Club into their politics.}

{Ed007's Note - That's what I'd go with if Rodgers opts for that back 4.}

Forrest has again started the season really well, but in a game like this we want the width Roberts can provide, and the multiple chances of a ball in that he provides by being so able to beat his man on the touchline.

I never bet on celtic but at 12/ 1 i just couldn't resist. Better teams have been beaten at celtic park. Some top players but they also have some agerage ones too. I worry about our defence and gk though.

@irishkiwi yes bookies have completely written us off, even the draw is 11/ 2. PSG have world class players and we could get a doing ala Barcelona last year or we could come on to our game and frighten them like Man City.
Bets I like are penalty 9/ 4, penalty scored 4/ 1, penalty missed 14/ 1.
Bookings Neymar is 7/ 4 (I think this is a decent bet)
Brown and Simonovic are 4/ 1 both get booked
Ordering off 6/ 1
BTTS is evens.

With neymar everything is coming through the centre of the park so jozo and who ever is beside him need to be tight and don't get split. We have nothing to lose. Let Ralston and Tierney bomb on. Encourage Sinclair and Roberts to take their man on and see what happens. don't think we will win but can we nick a point? At 11/ 2 a draw is great value. First 30 mins will be critical. If we are still in it at half time you just never know. In fact if we are level at half time i would fancy us to maybe win it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's some whispers coming out of Celtic that Ralston will start at RB with Lustig moving in beside Simunovic.}

12 Sep 2017 12:16:50
Sinclair to score anytime in 90 mins .4/ 1.

Irishkiwi / Timalloy you split your stake and cover the two bets

I have never known Celtic to be 12-1 at home!

Are you really going to bet against Celtic anyway?
