Just watched a compilation of 'fair play' penalties. Wont see much of that these days where cheating is regarded as part of the game.

I hate these international breaks and here is one major reason why.
With no game to go Mrs T dragged me around Glasgow city centre Christmas shopping, women say they enjoy these shopping trips, as a mere man I cannot understand why. But as I had to go with her I made a list of the presents we were going out to buy today. First shop we went into had 2 of the items we wanted, so as a nieve man I picked them up and headed for the till, Mrs T glared at me and told me to put them down, we might see items cheaper in another store she told me, TEN stores we blooming went into taking over four hours, and guess what, we returned to FIRST THREE stores we visited and got the items we were looking for, as you can imagine the car journey home had a very tired, very grumpy, very moany Timalloy.
Does anyone know a good divorce lawyer?

You need to tell Mrs T about internet shopping so you don't ever get dragged round the shops.

Lot of finger pointing after last night.
The team were poor.
International football has been rotten for years.
It's our national sport and I never watch Scotland anymore.
How do we get youngsters on the parks developing into international standard players?
Is there enough pitches, facilities, desire, funding?
Can schools do more?
Can the SFA do more?

I think strachan should walk, but I doubt anyone coming in to this set up would do any better.

Hi,

I do coaching for a 2006 age group. a lot of coaches are out for the result and not the development of the player. Yes its nice to win but young players are suffering to fill the ego of the coaches.

There is some good young talent in our leagues but seems like the pro vlubs don't have the scouts these days to pick these boys up and develope them into top international standard players.

I am constantly trying to play/ build from the back and take a great pride in working with the lads to help develope there game.

Good luck Stu
Here's hoping there's more coaches on the same wavelength

I took my boy to training and I was not impressed one bit with the way the coaches expected young kids to adapt to what they wanted.

It seemed that if the boys who weren't as good as the 'top' players they were surplus to requirements. No explanations of what to train and why. No building up of technique.
It was as if an under seven match was a 'must win'.
Kids need support, encouragement and patience.

A lot of the pro clubs Celtic included wanted kids that were big or great athletes rather than kids with good potential that were mibi on the small side. Don't know how many times Iv heard of kids being released because they were too small. Scotland can produce world class kids it's getting them to the next level I take a couple of teams from 4 year old too 9year old and Celtic are now miles ahead in kids/ youth development.

The ego of the coaches to win.

When i 1st started getting beat everyweek but stick by it and every1 involved and progressed as a team. We now hold our own with some good passing play.

They have to be allowed to make errors only way they will learn.

I think one of Scotland's main problems is that most very good 16/ 17 year olds seem to lose it around then and don't progress to anything better than very average adult footballers . Maybe our youths are moving away from home and no longer under parental supervision, definitely I am certain that very many from 16-20 develop life styles that are not compatible with professional footballers . We have professional clubs all over Scotland and we need to do more to keep our young players in Scotland at least until they are in their 20's .
Of course the SFA doesn't realise that development our youths should be their most important duty, not maintaining a senior club in Govan.

I think you have to delve a bit deeper into Scotland's problems than just blaming individual players.
In my opinion even if the Scottish players had played at their absolute peak, they would still have lost, as there is too big a gulf between the teams.
There has to be some kind of research done as to why the quality of players coming out of Scotland in recent years has been so poor, it's not as if there's any talent coming through, the under 21 team failed miserably in their qualifiers as well.
The fact England has more money shouldn't be a factor as that doesn't make any difference to the talent of a young player, it may well dictate where they play their football, but it doesn't stop them having talent.
I believe that the clubs in Scotland have to change their outlook, they have to encourage young players to play with a bit of skill and flair, let youngsters enjoy the game rather than just produce robots who play a sterile negative brand of football.
This isn't meant to be biased, but Brendan Rodgers has done this at Celtic, when you look at the likes of Forrest, Roberts, and Sinclair, he seems to encourage them to use their talents, and they look as if they are really enjoying their football. I think that approach should be taken with youngsters coming through.
It might not work, but I can't see it being any worse than what has been produced these past few years. At least it would be better to watch.

I would say that some of the Scotland players were nowhere near their best club level of performance, others have 'club form' that is nowhere near International level - or in the case of Fletcher and others in the squad - are well past their best form and even fitness and are no longer good enough.
The promise shown away to Gibralter, has evaporated and the team, manager and coaches look to have lost their belief and confidence in each other and although there is no 'stand-out' replacement, or quick fix, it must be time for changes - as yet again we falter and fumble in qualifying for major tournaments.
There is some good talent coming through and maybe we need younger, fresher ideas to match their enthusiasm and potential?

Gerry so why did Iceland beat England and why have England flattered to deceive on so many occasions? Everyone seams to want players to pass pass pass and yes it looks great but what happened to players taking a man on and beating them with a bit of skill. I do blame the way kids are coached and taught how to play the game but the problems right throughout the SFA and the jobs for the boys set up. Would be a lot better if more of the money in Scotland went into organisations for kids and youths instead of being wasted on countless other crap.

Campsie Bhoy, that's exactly what I'm saying, I want to see players being encouraged to try and beat a man.
Iceland and Northern Ireland have done well this year by packing the defence, defending for their lives, and hoping for a bit of fortune at the other end. Whilst these tactics may work for a while, good teams work them out eventually and they are back where they started.
I think you only improve in the long term by producing players with better skills and technique. Scotland were able to produce these players in the past, I think that they need to try and figure out why they can't produce them now.

The Scotland Manager would be better picking SPL players who are playing every week rather than players who aren't playing all the time in England .
Who ever decided on the pink top should be relieved of his duties immediately . How could any true - blooded Scottish man play for a pink jersey . Ability is one think and if a player has v little ability that is all the ability he will have . But just as in the SPL many players raise their game against Celtic and put up a challenge, surely to God a Scottish player should be completely self motivated to play out of their skins.
