To the guy who say's what has bloody sunday got to do with poppies? get real, buying a poppy is a donation towards ex soldiers, and like it or not, not eveyone thinks the british army are great. There were men sent to their deaths by earl haig, ( the mass murderer) in the great war, the founder of the poppy. The innocents who were murdered by the british army in derry, are the main reason i will not donate to ex soldiers, other people have other reasons. I respect the 2 minutes silence, i do not think the green brigade should have put the banner up, as it upset people, but i do agree that the poppy has no place on a football top. The 2 top english clubs had no poppies on their tops last year, and we are always being told to keep politics out of football. (p.s ed) the banner was a message to our chairman john reid, to keep the poppy off our top.

Brydo - stay on this page and off the rangers page. you waste of space. never an ex serviceman. for you morons talking about poppys. give it up. you ARE a british club. fact. you talk about illegal wars in iraq and afghan yet as the great ex squaddie brhdo will tell you (i no he dosent go to parkhead) but you hear pro ira songs getting sung - a terrorist oganisation that waged an illegal war on britain - the country that your chairman represented as defence seceratry - chose to go to war in iraq. your not an irish club. just because you were founded by irish dosent make you irish. i no a guy that drinks guiness. not irish. if ireland that great. shut down your club, bulldoze parkhead n off you go back over the water n out of britain - as bad as the hook handed muslim extreamist you lot are for not supporting the great british army that defend you lot (if you have a maroon passport with a unicorn on it and citizen of the united kingdom of great britain on the front, that's you, even if your born in scotland. your still british, n your national anthem is god save the queen) like it or not. another fact. when i served we had a few losers that you didn't want to go to war with - remember who you pledged to defend bhrydo - queen and country.
may we never forget those who gave their lifes for us (and i include all the former celtic players who died in the war in 1918 defending britain)
the tiger - respecting our troops n buying a poppy

Re;what has the poppy got to do with bloody sunday?(nothing btw)
i think you will find the poppy is for all wars, correct me if im wrong but there was a war in the six counties not so long ago.if your going to proudly wear a poppy at least have the knowledge of why you are wearing it in the first instance instead of brainless comments, bigots like you don't complain when innocent people are gunned down in cold blood, why?because of their religion that's why.instead of complaining about a banner why no complaints about how ill equipped these soldiers were, why are they in iraq and why soldiers coming home disabled are treated with contempt by the ones who sent them to die , the banner killed no one on the other hand the government have killed hundreds.(BTW)

Re;they are dying in afghanistan and iraq to preserve the british way of life.
what exactly is the british way of life?do we have a better way of life than germany, france, italy or spain?are the rest of europe so different from the so called british way of life?compared to britain are these places so bad?they are fighting for control of oil in the middle east, nothing more nothing less, dont use the british way of life(whatever that means)as a reason for glory.there is no glory in dying for pointless wars, britain is more or less another state of the U.S.A, no glory in that either im afraid.

Here here brother the poppy is to show respect for the soldiers who have died defending this great nation and to support the ones who have suffered horrific injuries. Those who show or condone the banners should be thrown in jail.

The poppy is a fantastic cause and it's typical of Celtic fans to mock it.

What has the poppy got to do with bloody Sunday anyway? (nothing btw)

WELL DONE YOU HAVE DISCRACED YOURSELVES AGAIN

REPLY-Yes IRISH HISTORY if Celtic fans are so pro Irish they should go live there and stop their sickening behaviour. I am sure that the soldiers fighting in Afghan and Iraq "don't want to fight" but have no choice as they are dying to preserve the British way of life! ! WHICH IS GREAT! !
You should look into how the money is spent that is raised by poppy sales/remembrance donations and hang your head in shame you vile little person! The banner holders shouldn't even be allowed out in public never mind into a football ground. COWARDS THE LOT OF THEM and its what we have come to expect of Celtic supporters

First off son. wind your neck in!
if soldiers in iraq and afghan "didnt want to fight" then why did they join the forces?? and as for "dying to preserve the british way of life!" are you so thick that you believe that's the reason uk troops are deployed in the middle east?? ? GROW UP!
and celtic fans who have a love for Ireland have every right to be pro irish without having to go and live there, should we ask every asian living in scotland to keep his mouth shut about his country or be forced out??
im very proud and thankful for the men and women who served during both world wars and they absolutly should be remembered! i also accept the fact that the british forces acted shamefully in ireland for hundreds of years and tore a country apart!

"Ok, Bullard was told to chase himself for ridiculous wage demands and Weiss was only getting taken if Given was allowed to come on loan as a favour for City so he could get some match practice. Once the Given deal was finished Celtic said they didn't want Weiss. But the Rangers "loyal" seem to love the idea that he said no to Celtic and yes to them. Keep wearing those blinkers. As for the rest, most of them wanted to go elsewhere for more money, Campbells mussis told him where he was playing and Bellamy wanted to go to a club 10 minutes from his house where his son is also on the books. After all Rangers always get every transfer target they sho interest in."

Excuses excuses - Of course Rangers don't get all their targets either, but then they don't parade these players around in front of the fans and media around the time for season ticket renewal, like a carrot on the end of a stick. The fact is Celtic FAILED spectacularly in the summer transfer window (thus a team of journeymen and nobodies) and as the club has only gone downhill since, it seems the likelyhood of the entire Ireland team/Premiership stars joining the hopeless Hoops is small at best.

Why are Celtic wanting to wear a different coloured poppy from the rest of the world?
What about the Celtic players that fought and died for Britain in the great wars - do they not deserve some respect?
How come every other team in the UK can show some respect to fallen soldiers except Celtic?
Just an observation. .
