I'm a Rangers fan, and personally I don't like Neil Lennon. I don't think he's fit to be manager, he's incapable of conducting himself in a professional manner that is demanded of an old firm manager. He riles opposing fans, players and authorities and has alienated himself from near enough everyone bar his own team. Despite this though I think the way he has been treated recently is disgusting, nobody deserves to be sent dangerous items through the post and be attacked at pitchside, and receive death threats. I was with work at an unnamed hotel on Tues afternoon when the Celtic team turned up and Lennon sat quietly in reception reading a book, I wouldn't had a chat with him and told him to keep his chin up and not to leave but I was with my gaffer. I believe that he brings it on himself to an extent but recent events are way over the top and needs to end. Scottish football at the moment is at a low ebb. As funny as I, like most rangers fans, get amusement from his pitchside tantrums and conspiracy outbursts, no man deserves what he has been subjected to recently.

What about the abuse Nacho Novo and Hugh Dallas received or the "fan"coming onto the pitch to confront Dida the then AC Milan goalkeeper.

I was listening to the radio clyde football phone in tonight , a caller made the point that due to the events which have happened this season that the time had come to approach UEFA about moving to a league outside Scotland , Daryl King and Graghm Speirs pounted out that although they were in another league probably in England that they would still play their games in Glasgow , and that the people who are targetting Celtic would probably still do so , while i agree that may be the case , i would still wholeheartedly agree with the caller because from the SFA down to the clubs and their supporters their is a bias and obvious dislike of Celtic , as Hearts team selections against the old firm this very week have highlighted , only one instance i know , i don't go along with the Scottish football needs both Celtic and Rangers theory , i think a parting of the ways would be a good thing as lets be honest the only reason we'd be missed is that our fans would not be filling the coffers of the clubs whose fans obviously can't stand us , Scottish football is heading for the gutter and Celtic leaving would possibly help get it back on an even keel , after this season i'd rather we got out of it NOW , i'm ashamed to call myself Scottish just now , lets be honest Celtic owe Scottish football absolutely nothing , i wouldn't miss it .

The most alarming thing about brown is that he seems to fool everyone in the media, they think the sun shines, i dont, they can keep reporting that if they want, helps us. Everton do want him though for 2mil.

Unfortunately, Celtic are offering him a new contract.

Whilst the poppy protest may not have been to everyones liking other than that they have had nothing but a positive influence on the support. Celtic park finally has a bit of atmosphere back again, home games are very enjoyable in terms of the vibes around the stadium. The "thugs" as you put it are responsible for the adoption of just can't get enough(utterly non-offensive) and displays at celtic park(the one for jock stein, a scottish great, particularly impressed), collections for kids with leaukaemia, and campaining against the closure of family orientated facilities such as nurseries in the parkhead area(not just for celtic fans) . It is funny that once you lot are censored for songs of hatred and violence that the green brigade come under attack at the first opportunity! Nice try billy but as my guidance teacher used to say MUST TRY HARDER! !

To suggest that the abuse Lennon gets is down to religion is absurd, Martin O Neill managed up here without 24hr protection or assaults from fans.
Why is this, well MO carried himself with dignity and class, he never once questioned anyones integrity, goaded opposition fans, spouted ridiculous conspiracy theories or antagonised just about everyone in the spl.
The only person responsible for the plight of your manchild of a manager is himself, it is a personal issue, not religious, not the "establishment" , the board at Celtic must be delighted as constant ridiculous conspiracy theories keep papering over the cracks of their deficiencies for some supporters , allowing their inability to bury a Rangers team that was on it's knees to go largely unnoticed , you may never get a better chance.

A posted 4 years ago that bin laden was in portugal mate. There is alot of dung on internet, being my point. And how the france would you know its celtic fans postin addresses etc? More likely to be a hibs fan, an ex of his or even someone he grew up with who has a grudge. Anti catholicism is scotlands shame and You, my cave troll, are part of that problem. {Ed007's Note - I was texted the guys name, address and house phone number at 11ish today, but the guy that got time for the Diouf incident got the same treatment, and it was Celtic fans that pointed him out to police and stewards at Parkhead. Personally I have never liked Tynecastle, it is always a poisonous atmosphere up there, and IMO even worse than OF games at Ibrox which I love going to. Anyway guys, have we all forgot that there is a "helicopter" Sunday on the horizon?}

I was sent the same msg. I feel sorry for the guy cause he's not aloud to take his electric toothbrush in the jail with him. The statement that lawwell came out with today was bang out of order. Get your own house in order ya fa**y. Don't tarnish everyone with the same brush ya dobber.

Tell me Jamie mac ya prat, were you at the game last night? No didn't think so. It was hearts we were playing last night did you not know that? I was their with my son and I've never heard so much sectarian vile in the 28yrs I've been following Celtic. Then the violence me and my son witnessed was shocking. Grown men and ladies throwing things at people in wheelchairs. Men, ladies and kids getting hit aswell. Jamie mac ya knob who's nearly forty. Don't make out we are angels cause if you might start going to games we are far from angels. Plus when that clown commons ran into the crowd when he scored was stupid. They were children in their getting crushed with the fans pushing forward and all you could hear was people saying I can't breath. No guessing nearly everyone with children moved up to the back of the stand or left altogether. Did you see the police getting attacked aswell no didn't think so. So before you start shouting your head off about all the other clubs fans Celtic have got to get those sectarian thugs booted out of our club before me and my son will be going back to away games. They should start with those thugs that call themselfs greenbrigade. They are nothing but sectarian vile people that's bringing our club down I rest my case.

Your greatest rivals deserve better than lennon? Like super sally do you mean? The man has done a great job considering we would have given anything to take the league to the last game this time last year. We could lose the league with a total of 92 points. Might be wrong but i make that the highest points total not to win a league. If that's the way it is, hats off to rangers for the effort. Imagine Being able To give respect to a rival eh? Any reasons i have heard for certain people not liking neil lennon are all dung. Bottom line is he is an irish catholic from the north of ireland who managed to have enough ability to play for and coach celtic. Simple as that and i would defy anyone saying any different. He is being intimidated for being at celtic with his background. Do you think you would have Threats etc if he hadnt ever been at celtic? Course not jamie mac im nearly forty.(trying to cut the bs)

To Jamie Mac you don't need a reason to dislike someone i.e. Justin Bieber I don't have a reason just hate the wee c*** lol the same with Lennon nothing to do with his background I just dislike him. Mainly just because he played for Celtic and is the manager. Just like you probably dislike Rangers players! ! Every football fan dislikes their rivals players but there is one thing disliking someone and another thing attacking them and sending them letter bombs. Most Rangers fans will dislike Lennon but not enough to attack him or threaten him or his family.

I understand where you're coming from Paddybhoy no manager deserves that but it speaks volume when its not just Rangers who hate him. Its the whole SPL that dislikes him. Its a joke what happened but don't try paint Lennon out to be this angel because he aint. He needs to learn to respect opposing players and managers. If you look at this season as a whole there has never been so many flashpoints and Lennon has been involved in most of them. Martin Oneill wasn't hated as much Strachan wasnt and who cares about Mowbray! ! Andy Walker said last night " Lennon is hated by all supporters in Scottish Football and we need to get to the bottom of it". There is nothing to get to the bottom of the guy will always be hated and you can't bring religion into it other temas don't care about that.

TBH mate the only people who like Lennon in Scottish football are Celtic fans. I've got mates that support Killie and Motherwell and they are all in agreement. he is a complete a*se. But one thing we are also in agreement in is last night was out of order. No decent minded person would have done that! it's was some Jambo fud prob had a few too many, thinking he was a ticket. So don't come on here saying that anyone that speaks out about Lennon is the same as him, there not. Another thing about the Celtic fans fighting with the police and stewards, if that were Rangers (in Europe of spl) I assure you that would be all over the papers and our supports names would be being dragged through the mud. Lennon's had a tuf time and I really do feel for him, I honestly hope he stays in charge cos I think he's crap and he provides good entertainment value as well. My message to Lennon would be, Chin up mate don't let the morons got you down and think before you speak (better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your an idiot, rather than open it and confirm it)

What happened to Lennon last night was bang out of order. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last couple of years the 1st time was when celtic played ac milan when a fan ran onto the pitch and slapped their keeper then last night a fan slapped lennon. As to was the trouble that happened in the Celtic end. My mate was their with his brother and 14yr old son and his son broke down crying when the fighting broke out 2 rows in front of them. It all started when the police went into the crowd to arrest two Celtic fans for throwing things at the hearts fans. Then all hell broke loose. Then about 30 fans started throwing things and punching the police. My mate and his brother had to get out of their with his son. He said that before the game had started that they were a really bad atmosphere and new something was going to kick off. Does everybody not realise that it's only a game of football? Catch a grip everyone.

To the guy that posted that You are spot on what happened I was their with my 16yr old son and my mate and 17yr old daughter and that was one of the worse bigoted atmosphere games I've been to and that includes Rangers games. It was vile and I'm embarrassed by that. Plus the thuggery was shocking. I couldn't believe when our own fans throwing objects to children, people in wheelchairs, and OAP. Shocking. What the police went through last night by so called Celtic thugs was bad. My mates daughter was breaking her heart and my son was in shock. Won't be following Celtic again until the club get rid of those bigots and thugs. All you here is that it's only Rangers that's got bigots well we really need to get our own house in order big time. {Ed007's Note - The TV cameras never showed any of it, my Mrs was in the bath listening to the radio and they stopped commentating on the game for about 10 mins, first off they said a Hearts fan was in the Celtic end, after the game there was reports that a steward had assaulted a female Celtic fan, so to anyone on last night, I was only posting what the radio was saying, it wasn't fact}

Lennon should stay!

I'm a Rangers man and understand NL has some growing up to do - so let him.

He has clearly got an eye for a good player and has brought in some great talent.

He HAS deserved some of the punishment given to him from SPL hierarchy but NO-ONE in football deserves the violent abuse he has received from other sources. Anyone who thinks he brings it upon himself needs a reality check or a belt in the mouth themselves!

I understand also that he some CFC fans may feel a nervousness or embarassment when he spouts some of his more risque comments but at least the guy is out there giving it his all. One of you said you got more respect when Strachan was in charge?!? Give me a break. Yes I think he is a bit of a sack at times but make no mistake him and his team strike much more fear into the opposition.

I'm looking forward to next season. All the more because of the Lennon v McCoist era and can't wait to see both current squads and the new additions we will both no doubt have in the new season.

Not that this one is over. After all it is a funny old GAME!

Billyboy1! ! {Ed007's Note - Our league might not be the best, but for last day excitement we get it year after year nearly, and all this other nonsense is overshadowing it. It affects sponsorship of the League and Cups, sponsorship of the clubs (surely Celtic and Rangers should have a bigger brand name than Tennents on their tops), and it will make players think twice about coming here and getting themselves and their family mixed up in it all.}

First of all id like to say that no one should condone the attempted attack on Neil Lennon at last nights game. Im sure most Rangers Fans are shooked that it happened but to those that are trying to spread a rumour based on no facts and speculating that he is a Rangers fan are nothing but sad. I think that regardless of what team he supports that team should not be branded as this was obviously an Idiot that acted on his own and i hope the full extent of the law comes to bear on him.

Seen skippy out with Darren odea and another couple of boys the other night in EK spoke to the wee man he said he'd love to come back and "his people" were trying to sort something! Said Murphy was renting his house but he was up to fling him out as he's sure he'll be back this summer! Says Boro have fold him he can go as they can't afford his wages and TM doesn't rate him highly, says big Mick can go if they get a decent offer! Any other info ed? {Ed007's Note - I know O'Dea is back up after Ipswich season finished, as for McDonald and McCarthy, if they are made free agents there will be alot of interest from other Championship clubs, just because McDonald says he wants to come back doesn't mean he will, and TBH if he is going to "fling out" Murphy does that mean he will take back his house and take his place on the bench? And I wonder how McCarthy would feel if he knew McDonald was talking about him in such a way on a night out, it is not his place to discuss McCarthys future or how any manager feels about him, I noticed he didn't say TM didn't fancy him, it was more a wage issue}

just a quick question ed. When did Mick McCarthy sign for celtic?

Greame, your comments are welcome, i am absolutely sick of people, saying that " Lennon brings it on himself" Lets get this 100% straight, Nobody has a problem, with football fans disliking Neil Lennon, it's not a popularity contest. But whatever he has done, does not mean he should be beaten up, sent bombs, ( not hoaxes) attacked on the field of play. This season has been poisonous, and i understand why Walter Smith says he is glad to be leaving. The excuses are what do my head in, the favourite two are, it's all the fault of the Catholic schools. And it's Neil Lennons fault. I hope some good comes of it all, because it can't get worse!

I'm unsure of the full extent of the trouble at the game this evening, but it is saddening to see crowd trouble and violence at a football match. Irrespective of anyone's personal view of Neil Lennon, no one can say he deserves the abuse that he gets. It is totally surreal. He may act at times unprofessional or disrespectful but that does not entitle anyone to endanger him or his family. I would not be surprised if Lennon decided to quit. As a Rangers fan, I would be sorry to see him leave for non-footballing reasons. It just would'nt sit right with me. I suspect he may decide to stay, being a proud man he might feel it is admitting defeat through quitting. Only time will tell though. I also worry how Scottish football is viewed through the footballing world; instances such as tonight, Rangers being fined for sectarian singing and numerous other controversies including the referee strike does not portray a particularly good image.
