Any players at Sporting Lisbon worth a look, seems they are all off, is Ryan Gauld still there.

I think we should steer clear of the Sporting players . Just like farmers don't like to kick a farming colleague when he is down and don't buy his stock or farm, neither should Celtic take advantage of Sporting misfortune.

@ OM Chris. Nice sentiment but the game is not like that mate.

Times change Chris. I don't even think farmers have issues stepping on others nowadays. Its a dog eat dog world now so if they have/ had the right player then why not.

Lh you are right he OMC does talk some amount of pish IMO just like below in his beloved Ibrox post it's time for him to change again from Chris02 to Old Bhoy to OMC because he just can't help himself IMO

Having clashed with him many a time over the years IMO that his referral to a vegetable that is farmed. let everyone join the dots (Y)

Just to let you city centre farmers know what goes on in the farming industry . The bailiffs were called on to over 2000 since the 2007 down turn in ROI . Less than 200 farms have changed hands, by end of 2017 banks got their noses blooded.

@ED. Seen the post on the safety certificate that crossed my mind as well. I assumed he had checked with the police and had gotten the okay. Now. It would be delicious if he's screwed up and it is actually refused.

Cap in hand to Celtic to ask for the status quo? I would tell him to do one, he started this nonsense. On dave, just what the feck is going on!

I have heard some rumours, from the semi sane to down right crazy, but it comes back to follow the money. He must have some backing, or cash to come, otherwise the crazy theories might be right.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - I just can't see any way round it if their safety certificate relies on that set up (like the Albion Car Park, that's so important to their safety cert because without it they can't open the Club Deck) but I wonder if Celtic's might be the same.}

12 Jun 2018 20:25:49
I don't think Celtic park would struggle to get a new licence giving the upgrades and development work surrounding the area, where they are like to be placed there is also the gap for ambulance access which segregates
The crumbledome by all accounts is ridden with asbestos and needing extensive work so might struggle.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - None of that is relevant.}

12 Jun 2018 22:03:46
I am surprised that people still think Ibrox may fail a Health and Safety test .
No way will that ever happen.

Agree0 Disagree4

12 Jun 2018 22:36:09
It could easily happen Chris and nobody on here will no more about H and S than Ed

There was a survey doing the rounds when Ashley invested that the repair bill for Ibrox could run up to £18 mill!

When Whyte took over a part of the deal was there was money had to be allocated for stadia repair

When the electric signs went in again concerns were raised about disturbing asbestos

ANYTHING can fall into a state of disrepair

The carpets in hospitality are been held down with TAPE!

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Jun 2018 22:42:31
It's the fans safety which is paramount. If they can't guarantee it don't accept any. The real reason King cut the allocation was to pander to the orcs who couldn't handle us running the show so they wanted us out.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2018 08:42:54
The seats have already been sold by King. Even if he has to change it, his short term goal has been achieved.

Agree0 Disagree2

12 Jun 2018 17:09:00
It's been announced that the Season Tickets for the new campaign are Sold Out.
What I've heard is we haven't Sold the Seats that Sevco get as Normal Season Tickets but as Special Tickets (as previously done) . This brings me on to my point:
IMO Police Scotland will not allow a Reduced Number of Away Fans in BOTH Grounds for Safety Reasons. While it is easier to keep both sets of Fans apart Outside Celtic Park, Ibrox is a total different Kettle of Fish. It is almost Impossible to Segregate Both sets of Fans Outside their ground.
I believe our Board realise this, thus The Special Tickets that doesn't include the Sevco games.
However across the City Old Dodgy Dave needs the Money in Big Time. So when the Police tell him NO CHANCE, he can say it wasn't my fault. But I've got the money off the Fans so who gives a S##t.
Or I could have this completely wrong!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - TRIFC told there own fans not long ago they couldn't reduce our ticket allocation because it would affect their security certificate and Dave King himself said this in 2016:

"Some of our supporters have difficulty with the fact that Celtic fans receive a whole stand at Ibrox, whereas our fans are in a predominantly corner section at Celtic Park. However, this is largely due to the physical structure of both stadia.
In reality – and by agreement – both teams receive the same number of tickets for away games. The strong safety and security advice from the police, which is supported by our own security team, is that we should continue with the present arrangement as this is the safest allocation of tickets from a segregation point of view.
And, most importantly, it is the basis upon which we have been awarded our Safety Certificate."

So what's changed?}

12 Jun 2018 17:26:20
Thanks for that Ed.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Like most things King does it's a strange one.}

12 Jun 2018 17:49:28
The gullabillies think this is a done deal. How disappointed will the Ultra Uber Bears be when they are told to jog on because 8000 Tims are coming to town! King looks like he's done it again.

Agree0 Disagree2

12 Jun 2018 18:38:04
They needed cash up front to service the debts they are incurring. The mysterious Far East investor, they were all getting very excited about, is a phantom. King needs working capital right now. They have to relay that £3m loan they pretended was an overdraft imminently.

It’s all about the money, money, money.

Agree2 Disagree2

12 Jun 2018 22:20:23
Could both clubs not just cut the away allocation totally, making each home game just full of the home supporters, thus cutting back on policing costs and saving money for both clubs,

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - That would be the best solution imo but I think the TV companies might have something to say about that, in fact I'll be surprised if they stay quiet about the cutting of the away allocations.}

13 Jun 2018 01:16:58
Magicpole they have just banked 18 to 20mill on season ticket money so they have cash right now. Issue will be they will be paying SG and his team more. They need to get existing players off the wage bill so whilst they have money to buy new players how much will be available by end Feb 2019. Not a lot so King needs to get a share issue away before Christmas to keep the lights on or its more loans.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2018 01:26:46
Seats have been left available for people to purchase match day tickets.

good point Johnnymac
We are all asking whee the money is coming from but it's tru, they have sold a lot of ST.
How much is going to SG?
We know that Close Bro need paid first and foremost.

13 Jun 2018 09:02:04
Johnny, they raised the same lastvyearcandcwerecstill operating at a loss last year, needing soft and the £3m loan to keep that light bulb on.

He still needs money now for Gerrard. He has raised some of it by selling those seats. The share issue is more complicated due to his fecking up of the last one.

These actions show clearly the desperation to raise capital they are having. If he can’t issue a new share deal he will blame Lawell and move on. They desperately need Europa qualification, if they fail then that’s all the money gone.

Regarding the safety issue? I haven’t heard one peep from any authority mentioning it. Do we actually think they will now? Why not as soon as they made their decision? Well, my take is they will not make an issue of it. The cops talked about how they will need to do it differently, not that it would need to be stopped.

Pie in the sky, as I said earlier, even if it is overturned, the objective of getting more cash was achieved.

What it does is highlight the diminishing amounts of sofás he can rummage down the back of. And when they all had gotten themselves into a lather about a Far East investor, which we all knew was a pile of crap, they now do too.

King will soon be in the firing line when results go tits up to spend the £30m of his own cash.

Look forward to that day. For it is coming.

The one player who performed well against us last season who I’d like to see us go for is Patrick Twumasi of Astana. Ran us ragged in that second leg. Can on either wing or up top.

Looked a player and quite young as well if I remember rightly.

12 Jun 2018 18:38:49
He’s 23, one year left on his deal. After losing to us he went on to score 5 goals and have 3 assists in the Europa League proper. Also now capped 3 times by Ghana. The boy is a player he’s stood out for them in both years we’ve played them.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2018 19:00:05
Sounds expensive. That will end interest, if indeed there was any, which I doubt, because Lawell would know what wages he’s on. It has to be considerably higher than we could offer probably.

Anybody from higher paying leagues I think are not worth bothering about.

So, can anyone elaborate on when Celtic return to training? We have the first CL qualifying round on the 11/ 7. We still do not have any new players signed. Only leaves a month of preparation. Working deals within the 4 qualifiers we have to play must be difficult? Surely something is happening in the back ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2018 18:30:45
It’s irrelevant how long it’s been open, many teams have already signed players.

Celtic should be prepared months in advance and should have started on deals to get players in fir qualifying

All it takes is one bad game to get knocked out, we’ve seen over the last few years that this can potentially happen.

Sooner the players are signed the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2018 01:03:02
Just my opinion but I expect to be totally underwhelmed by our transfer activity again. Last season's performances dropped way below expected standards and unless there's a big turnaround in certain players then new players of higher quality is required. We should be getting some of our signings in now for qualifiers as just now we are short roberts, rogic, lustig, gamboa and boyata before we add in the Armstrong saga again and Édouard?

hile the 26-year-old would likely be a useful addition to Hughes' squad, they should forget about him and instead target a move for his £1.8 million-rated Celtic teammate James Forrest (as per Transfermarkt) .

Reading this stuff for a while, how can you class that man at 1.8 m and mcginn at 5m . honestly who is printing this guff🤣.
