So we have reportedly held back Β£40k from ticket sales as Sevco had not paid for the damage caused by their "supporters" at Parkhead. A Sevco spokesman is now claiming that there was damage caused at ibrokes and they are still assessing this. Why are we only hearing about this now? I heard that there were only two roof tiles damaged in a toilet but more significantly everyone saw the damage we did on the park.

Hopefully the Celtic Board challenge them to provide evidence of this so called damage that made them withhold money for so long.

I think Celtic should jut go to the SFA and get them to get the money if not take them to Court

Let them keep it and use it as an excuse not to give them tickets to the next game at home.
Would be cracking to fill paradise to the brim with our own fans especially if it's title day

Apparently according to a news paper Celtic have held back the money for the repairs from the ticket money that they were due to send to new Co. And they are not happy about it if true so funny good on Celtic

Pathetic really, if any damage had been done there would have been an outcry before the Bells! What are they going to do? Smash up their own toilets and photograph it to get withold 40k from us? If they do so, it will probably cover their squad's wages for next 2 months!

If there was even a floater left in the cludgie there would have been uproar and gnashing of fangs - just like there was with the alleged culprit at the minutes silence.
Anything and everything to detract from our victory and the humongous points gap that the result produced.
Celtic are 100% correct to hold back that cash until debts and damages are settled; but don't hold your breath as they would probably rather go into administration lol.

I have to say it is strange to not have heard about any vandalism at Ibrokes until now.

Just highlights the depth of the financial crisis at the new club when you struggle to get 40k out of them. If there was damage at the Sports Direct Stadium then why haven't the new club produced any evidence? New Club same old problems with not paying what they owe. Good on Celtic for taking a stance. I dare say any damage was due to poor maintenance of the stadium.

just don't let the bastards in its as simple as that then there won't be any damage to our stadium at all.

A was thinking along the same lines James. Ed maybe u could confirm this, a always thought we had a deal wae oldco that any damage done to either stadium would be covered by the club whose fans done the damage. That deal was wae rangers but so unless a new deal was done wae sevco then they're not obliged to pay a penny. Easiest solution is to not let them back unless they pay it.

{Ed007's Note - You're spot on but it was an unwritten agreement, Steph.}

And yet the SFA / SFL say nothing heads buried in the sand hopping all will go away. Give them the money then take them to court freeze there accounts until its sorted out see what the SFA do then

Malky

Going out on loan with 6 months left and not having played a first team game for 3 months? It looks like his time is up.

JimTim. O'Connell has always impressed me also. always looks comfortable in his position. NiallH. you could be right. maybe Brendan wants to see him playing a decent run of games before he decides whether to offer him a new deal.

I think he should have been out on loan earlier in the season to show what he can do because at present he is competing with Eric, Jojo, Toure, Boyata, Ambrose and even Lustig for a central defender slot where we have more quantity than quality and he is by no means worst.

12 Jan 2017 16:40:43
PT with him playing in the CL qualifiers as well as pre-season I think he might have been part of the plans until Jozo ended up staying. Did that deal not collapse right at the end of the window? It'll be desperately unfortunate if that is the last we'll see of him.

12 Jan 2017 18:15:42
I'd imagine he will be offered a new deal if he cuts it down in England, surely he'd have signed on a pre contract (if that is available) . I reckon Brendan will keep a close eye on him

I agree with that Jim as he was certainly ahead of Boyata and Ambrose in the managers eyes at that time.

Really strange how we can't seem to produce our own central defenders anymore which Scotland was generally renowned for ie. McNeil, Miller, McLeish, Gough etc. I watched the young Hoops and had had high hopes for the other Cork lad as well as O''Connell. Cannae remember his name but started wae a K. Kelliger maybe? πŸ€

With this news, and us trying to offload Boyata, we might be lining up a blockbuster CB in the summer. Erik, Jozo and maybe young Ajer making up the numbers.
