Really think now that Armstrong has had chance after chance and just does not cut it he's a imposter.

It took long enough to find his best position (and form) and then we has one very good season - he gets an International call, possibly distracted/ head turned. Contract wrangle drags on and whenever he has played any part this season, he canny kick his own erse.
Looks like we should have sold him when he was stalling over a contract, as his value will have fallen right through the floor at present and we will be lucky to get any serious interest/ cash.

Not a green and white bone in his body and as far away as it gets from Broon, Lustig and KT in terms of having any affinity with the fans or love of the club. Punt him pronto! ☘️.

God sake, the guy has been bothered with injury most of the season, and was looking for better wages.
He hasn’t been his best this season, but neither has a few including the “ stars” of the team, think your being a bit harsh.

Let Armstrong go and get McGinn in he will fit.

Armstrong has no wish to be at Celtic long term and can talk to Clubs this time next year therefore it's in the Clubs best interest to sell in January. A shame as he was immense last season. This year he can't play a 5 yard pass to feet and gets caught in possession. Ntcham on current form is a far better player and deserves to start ahead of him, similar to what has been discussed on other posts throughout the day.

IT should be enough for fans to discus a players form, even a loss in form without trying to interpret the mind of someone who fans don't really know . To call someone who was one of our best players last season an imposter isn't very like a Celtic fan .
To declare someone hasn't a green and white bone in his body seems strange as it didn't matter last season . Whether Armstrong has long term desires to be at Celtic is probably only known by himself, & his family, his agent and probably senior management at Celtic . Mr Lawwell is a past master and one of the finest in the game at getting maximum value for players when their time at Celtic is up.

Dont underestimate the effect on players getting humiliated 5-0 or 7-1 in Europe. Last season BR told them it was a learning curve and we will omprove. Then this season results are worse. I don't believe its a coinsidence that so many of last seasons stars Dembele, Sinclair, Aramstrong, Tierney, Boyota, Jozo, Paddy etc have all dipped in form. that's no coincidence. I don't believe BR would allow them to take their eye off the ball but they msy be winning in the SPL but in their head they will be questioning their own ability and considering what they need to do to be better. They are pro footballers. If these defeats did not make them question their ability then something is wrong. CL results affected the entire squad.

also Callam McGregor as good as he is going forward he offers nothing at the back and is not good enough for centre midfield atCeltic.

Have you not heard that Ntchams bones are all green amd white. that's why we signed him. What a load of guff some people talk. Armstrong's bones must've changed colour since last season when he got a song made for him.

Totally agree with you, OMC, for a change.

Armstrong is out of form. As is Sinclair. To say we should get rid of him, and that he doesn't have a Celtic bone in his body is a disgrace. The boy was brilliant last year and will be again. There have been plenty of people who had every bone a Celtic bone who were shite.

It's not about them being Cektuc fans it's about them being Celtic class. An in form Armstrong is. Let the guy find his form and if he dies it's a win win. If we do sell him he will get us more money.

I believe he will regain form, just like Sincy who has shat a brick regarding driving at defences. He may have scored more goals but his dramatic dip in form has been why we don't look as dangerous. He has become the safe pass kid.

He needs to find his balls and fast.

Ed did SA not have to be persuaded by BR to sign for 2 years. SA was happy to sign 1 year extension at the time which was basically an 18 month contract from when signing. Doesn't come across as commitment to me and looks like the Club just got the 2 year contract signed to give them an extra 12 months to safeguard getting some cash for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Dec 2017 16:58:39
I think he had 12 months left and signed for an extra year. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sold in January. If not he will be gone in the summer for about half of what we could have got for him this summer.

With the link in the media today regarding our interest in the German defender from RB, who was everyone's favourite German to pull on the hoops. I can only think of two:
Hinkel, Thom.

they are the only 2 that come to mind Hinkel and Thom out the 2 I would say hinkel.

2 great players, what a screamer Thom scored at the Bigotdome. I think Cha was German born although he chose to play for South Korea.

I cannot believe some of the negative posters on here after we draw a game, please remember we are still 68 games UNBEATEN.
As a Celtic fan of a certain vintage (just like wine I improve with age lol) and lived through some dark days including all the cheating EBT years and more, my advice is ENJOY OUR RUN, yes the team needs improving in January and some players need a rest and others need to find the form of last season, but it could be worse, you could be a Sevco fan who have nothing to look forward to, except hoping we get beat.
Be positive and support the Bhoys, that is what being a Celtic fan is all about.

Truth is though Tim our reserve team should be beating Hibs and i don't mean any disrespect to Hibs it's just the way it is with squad/ budget comparison. Peope are just saying it as they see it and that 3 or 4 players badly need a break. As i said earlier they haven't become bad players they just need a rest because their current form doesn't merit being in the starting 11. What harm can be done throwing Johnston or Miller in at left wing or Ajer in at CB at Tynecastle. It could be the making of them and add a much needed freshness to the team. We are in more danger of losing this unbeaten run by playing out of form players in my opinion.

Agree4 Disagree3

12 Dec 2017 12:35:20
I remember thinking to myself after we beat Aberdeen in the cup final that this is about as good as it gets.
In any other year we would be chuffed to bits with the season we are having, we are a game in hand away from being 8 points clear before Christmas, we have won the league cup, we qualified for the champions league, we won a match in the Champions league and have European football after Christmas, we are in with a chance of another treble, and we are still unbeaten.
Last season nearly every player was playing to their maximum potential, that very rarely happens, this season for a variety of reasons they're not, but it's this season that's the more normal one, we've just been spoilt.
Another factor is that opposition teams will try different ways to stop us, what worked for us last season might not be as effective this season, we just need to look for other ways to combat them.
I don't think that we're having a bad season at all, I just think that last season was so exceptional that whatever followed would look tame in comparison.

Agree5 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 13:13:18
Agree with that Gerry, though compared to last season we're still in Europe, though not performing as well at home. I think if we win the treble again then this season will have been more successful than last even if we don't go unbeaten. The team will hopefully be back all guns blazing after the Jan break and there are a few who look like they need the rest.

hey tim, this is just a place where we can all give our thoughts and opinions and I have been swayed and seen things from a different perspective by reading some posts, yours included (although I ain't betting another single donkey you suggest - lol) .

Truth is tho, we aren't 68 games unbeaten, we are 68 games unbeaten domestically - and 1) remarkable achievement especially considering "honest mistakes", injuries, loss of form, bad day at the office etc. and 2) given current finances we should dominate domestically.

I am now happy to see a settled back 5, midfield choices depending on opposition and how the games are going and competition for up front.

I think apart from number of games we have played so far and mental fatigue, giving key players a rest and then the proper break in January and perhaps a few key additions we will go into February with a full compliment of players (ex paddy) , rested and ready to go and we will hit the heights of last year.

People are disappointed by poor form and heavy CL defeats - I personally expected a dip and cl defeats, am fairly content about where we are and where we are going tho.

Getting to the break, I think we may not keep our unbeaten record, but that's the least of my concerns. League and a cup in the bag, still in Europe, not Servco fan = me happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 15:24:15
Totally agree Tim. Just wait until we do lose a match, you will get people shouting to sack the manager. We haven't had it this good in many a year and people are still not happy.

12 Dec 2017 16:11:32
The unbeaten run is being used to excuse substandard performances in my view. Instead of picking the bones of throwing away a 2 goal lead folk are happy to just gloss over it with “68 unbeaten”. It’s an amazing achievement but for us to have drawn a third of our league games isn’t acceptable.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Dec 2017 16:13:42
Funny how people that are asking for out of form players to be given a rest and to be replaced by our star youth players are now being regarded as moaners, negative etc. Talk about deluded views.

12 Dec 2017 16:34:16
We will at some point lose a game no matter what we do it will happen. But for me we need to freshen the side up. Looking at the past few games we look a little complacent IMO and that is not a dig at any one but concentration seems to have gone from some players and no wonder with the amount of games we have played this year And I am sure BR is on to how to fix it all be it perhaps when the window opens in January.

What happened to benyu? Boy looked good in pre season and in the early games he played, players like this should be tested instead of constant under performers.

12 Dec 2017 08:23:30
I agree Brian i thought he played well, although he will probably go out on loan, along with a few others they ain't going to improve their game by sitting on our bench or playing against the same kids every year in development league. This is where i think the unbeaten run is possibly becoming a bit of a burden, as great as it is why are guys like Sinclair being picked every week when not playing well, surely its time to give Johnston another game, or what about Calvin Miller why is he not being allowed to go express himself in his natural position rather than having him at left back. Get these players in to give us some energy and give some of our regulars a much needed rest.

Agree4 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 09:50:15
I think the unbeaten run, coupled with European football has caused us to over-use players who clearly need a rest or have lost form.
We have a large, talented squad (containing International players) , but BR seems reluctant to play many of them and some are not even making the bench.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 09:58:52
Maybe burden is too strong a word to use, what i mean is maybe the fear of losing and the unbeaten run ending is preventing us from making changes that are badly needed. The other argument is BR thinking they aren't up to it but at the moment its some of our star players who aren't performing and that is why the need a rest. They haven't become bad players they are just in urgent need of a break.

Stan is Sinclair not our top goal scorer mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 15:28:08
Sinclair might not be playing to the standard of last season but as Rahman mentioned, he is our top scorer including 2 against hibs.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 16:10:20
Not sure Rayman he may well be that doesn't mean he's been playing well. Sinclair was my fave player last season im not saying he's a bad player im saying he needs a break because his form has been woeful and its looking like its starting to affect Tierney now. What harm will it do dropping him and giving Johnston or Miller a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 16:20:27
Sinclair is our top goalscorer, but I reckon at home against some smaller teams we should use these guys, give them a platform to build on, look what happened when we played them at home in cup against Kilmarnock they were immense because they are playing for a starting position the next game where as sinclair etc expect a game anyway?

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 16:23:34
You have just said yourself Jon he is not playing to the standard of last season, yes an form Sinclair would have buried that chance at the end v Hibs. If you read back im not having a go at Sinclair or any Celtic player i am stating the facts that 3 or 4 of them need a rest, what's wrong with that?

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Dec 2017 18:49:48
A player not playing at the top of his game and still contributing thro goals is exactly the type of player a team needs.
We could go back to players playing badly and not contributing like a few seasons ago the old version of Forrest as a prime example.

12 Dec 2017 19:26:07
Players that are not playing well should be benched and our hungry, keen to impress, talented youngsters should be given some game time and that's the last im saying on it. HH.
