The Republic of Ireland captain is surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane and spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham.

Bolton and Blackburn, as well as Championship promotion favourites Leicester, have been linked with Keane, who has admitted he could move away from the Premier League.

But Galaxy's interest emerged on Friday night and, with talks taking place, the MLS club could finalise a deal before the end of the transfer window.

If Keane was to move to Galaxy, he would become a team-mate of former England skipper David Beckham.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well done moron Thanks for giving us news we already knew Why bother coming on just to talk s**te Go back and get rejected by more players

Agree0 Disagree0

We got knocked back off robbie keane and craig bellamy. You got knocked back off david goodwillie and neil danns.

Agree0 Disagree0

When did Keane and Bellamy knock yous back, I dont remeber any bids going in for these old has beens do you. So how can someone knock you back when a bid was never put in. The same as the Conway situation a offer was never made, Goodwillie never knocked us back the bid was never accepted by his club so never spoke the Rangers to knock them back, I will give you the Danns one tho, just need to look at things a little bit more tho before you write rubbish.

Since izzy got injured, i started thinking celtic team dosnt look that good as it did last year but its basically the same but with new additions. At the aberdeen game last sunday celtic were not as a good passing team as last year hooper was lazy commons could hardly do his magic kayal keep passing to the other team. Celtic need there mojo back if there going to do well in europe. and they need to stay in europe as long as the can cause the spl is crap and the fans want europe

just seen a previous post about Scott McDonald being linked with a return to paradise I would have him back in a minute as he is a proven goalscorer i dont think he wanted to leave in the first .

Do i see unrest at Ceptic Park where have all the in Neil Lennon we Trust brigade gone where is the new contracts for izzy and kayal where is the new signings your big signing this window might be craig bellamy on loan and if he is as good as he Was in the friendly against AU then then rangers have nowt to worry about.

lets be honest guys your board are no different from the board at ibrox and will tell us all any 5hit so we buy season tickets the i think both clubs are skint only difference is HMRC are after Rangers

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Do Celtic not have a fair bit in the kitty though from the McGeady and co sales?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well you think alot

Agree0 Disagree0

No that was used up by Lennon when he had the we buy any player.com head on dont get me wrong it unearthed a few good ones hooper kayal izzy stokes and remember no European money for the past few seasons didnt help so i would say you are as skint as Rangers or you would have no hesitation in paying 2 or 3 mil for a good keeper as that is your weakest position

Have heard that protest banners to be unveiled at weekend about lack of spending hope this isnt true still time to bring players in. Wait at least until window is shut

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Please, please, please..............Craigie we luv ya 90 grand a week we can afford you easily with oor big fat benifactor

Agree0 Disagree0

This really gets me angry why are we chasing him, he has already said he doesnt want to come, plus his wages are far to high even if we did only pay part i wold sooner see someone in that has something to prove not this arrogant pr*ck. Lenny needs to wake up at least if your going to go after a striker like that go for keano at least he has something to offer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have you tied him up? That sounds like a line from an old horror film lol

Billyboy1 {Ed001's Note - naw, he is away on one of his secret missions. I need to own a cat before I am allowed to tie him up and then only during sex games.....}

Lennon says we will def have a keeper by the end of august Wonder who he's gonna for all the good ones have been snapped up by the looks if it, maybe just get behind zaluska can't be doing his confidence any good this searching for a keeper should if been done straight away.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

"All the good ones"?

You must be kidding. We were predictably going to be ripped of in regards to signing Forster (who I understand would be a "meh" signing anyway to fans me included...decent, has potential but still half the keeper of the obvious comparisons - interested Boruc and McGregor), we made a half-anussed attempt to sign Shay Given (which was probably just media rubbish), and made a decent offer for the Polish keeper that was accepted verbally only for another club (and only club actively interested...) to make a higher bid and force the price up. Schmeichel, Gordon and the guy from Motherwell (who'd be my pick of the lot as he'd be decent value not coming from English leagues and has reasonable experience) have also done the rounds but I'd hazard a guess at rumour.

However, there must be hundreds if not thousands of keepers out there worth a look at. My guess is we've looked at more than just 3 or 4 since we knew we needed a keeper.

I think our problem is that our policy is to target younger players with potential sell on fees which cuts the number markedly and makes scouting them more difficult as very few young keepers play weekly.

IMO we need an older, experienced head (27+) that can handle the pressure and organise the defence between the sticks as keepers still move for big money in their 30s. I don't think Zaluska is good at handling pressure and I don't think Forster was the most vocal and commanding.

Just wanted to say I'm sick of people running Forster down. He's young and he set a clean sheet record for us last season so get a grip.

As I have previously said I realistically can not see us doing any more business until we have got rid of some the dead wood. I.e rasmussen, hooiveld and Murphy.

But what I would say is that once they have gone expect two more through the door before the end of the window, one possible marquee signing which lennon has been searching for since he took over

All this transfer talk is mostly speculation.
We need a Striker and a keeper.
The young polish kid is a prospect, a good one at that but, hopefully we will make the final push to get him here.

One rumour of note that I am more worried about is the one about Ki. Could well be on his way to the gunners for a fee of around £8m. This largely depends on the moving on of Nasri and Fabregas though. Ki's signing will help promote the Gunners image in the far east after their recent tour the powers that be had noticed the vast amount of EPL fans over there but not too many wore gunners tops compared with other clubs.

I hope he stays a nd we get rid of some of the deadwood around the club.

As for the Foster chase, I would like him there as he is tried and tested for the SPL but would worry about him in Europe. a good keeper though all the same.

Hail Hail

Ki wont go eneyware just now i strongley believe he is happy in glasgow.but as we know take nothing for granted i hope to god he stays and kayal and hooper HAIL HAIL

Paddy McCourt scores some great goals but £6m? Haha. He's never scored against a decent team or even went past a decent defender. He's worth realistically £1m at a push. Also I'd love to see Fraser Forster back at Celtic.

I am a die-hard Rangers fan but I would like to say thank you to everyone who wished Papac well. I know it is difficult to put the bitter old firm rivalry behind us but tbh rivalry means nothing when someone's health is in jeopardy so once again, thank you. I would also like to wish Emilio Izzaguirre a speedy recovery and hopefully he will be back doing what he does best in no time.

Good to see Paddy McCourt putting in a man of the match performance for N Ireland last night. His second goal was pure George Best. Great reaction from the fans too.
