I think the combination of Thursday's game, the slow plastic pitch and a very well organised Livingston team made us come unstuck today. There wasn't the zip to our play that we've had over the past month but we still could have won it and were probably unlucky not to. Top of the league, take the point and move on.

Not really one for excuses but that pitch is god awful.

Luck was on Livis side here, At least one of our shots would have normally gone in.

How can you promote Scottish football when the authorities allow plastic parks in the top flight. it's a nonsense. you could clearly see we couldn't pass the ball on it.

We need a state of the art #hit plastic pitch to train on before these games.

Gutted for big Ajer getting injured again, he has a massive future ahead.
His record for Celtic this season is incredible. We have not conceded a goal for 675 minutes with Ajer on the pitch, over 11 hours.
The last goal let in was away to suduva on 23rd August.
Ajer has took part in 10 games since, some as sub and has kept 9 clean sheets. The only goal let in was on Thursday before Ajer took to the field.
Ajer has played 18 games for Celtic this season won 13 drawn 5 lost 0.
Games without Ajer in the team
Played 9, Won 4 drawn 0 lost 5
If Benkovic or Boyata go in January, l don’t think we have too much to worry about, especially with statistics like that.
Hurry back soon big man.

Where's Magicpole and Johnymac? Never heard from them for weeks, they usually appear after a couple of dropped points 😂😂.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

11 Nov 2018 18:05:08
Played ok on a joke of a pitch. Most of our dropped points have been on plastic pitches. Lost to Killie, draw today, draw at St Mirren (think they have Astro) . Still should have enough to have got 3 points but they defended well. We will be at the top now until we clinch 8. HH.

They have beaten Hibs, Sevco, Hamilton and Dundee at home and have only lost 1 game in the league at home, it was always going to be a hard game on that surface and after Thur night.
We are back where we belong though and will stay there the rest of the season.

Sorry Bhoys but looks like we got it wrong as Andy Gray (that well respected pundit and megastar) has stated that rangers (whoever they are) are going to beat us and go top.

Thete are two ways of looking at SPL table today. From one perspective the facts are (1) the huns are only two points behind (2) they've scored considerably more goals 32 against our 27 and (3) have the same goal difference + 21. This is being interpreted in Govan as meaning that they are coming. OR from another perspective (1) we have had a poor start to the season until recent weeks (2) we'd our transfer windae panned in as somebody on here commented which I thought was a cracker (3) we got horsed out CL none of which did much for the confidence (4) the press had the dressing room split and (5) Rodgers leaving (6) yet we're still top of the league and they're no (7) there's only 12 games played and league means nothing as titles aren't won in November and (8) we'll be out of sight and romp the league over the season. The second is my interpretation.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

11 Nov 2018 19:10:05
5 goals more isn't considerably more, they only scored 7 today after they got another penalty and Motherwell went down to 10 men, until then it was 1-1.

11 Nov 2018 20:45:18
Reckon Tim will have had his usual bet on that 'double whammy'.
We have been absolutely magnificent in recent weeks and even though it was hard going today, we had enough possession and chances to win. However, we go into the enforced 'waste of time' break, top of the league where we belong and come back ready for another three away SPL fixtures in a row (outwith the Hamden cup final and a EL game in Norway) ) that the SPFL random fixture computer has thrown up.
Next home game is on Dec 8 against Kilmarnock - but skint, travel weary supporters will be glad of the three home games in a row after the winter break in January, unless there's another beast from the east blizzard and they're postponed until the week before the CL qualifiers ha ha?

We didn't play too bad today. Livingston make it hard to play against and add in the conditions. Looking at the 2 scottish games today, the glasgow teams both had 17 shots at goal and both had 9 corners each. One team scores 7 and the other none. It was just one of those days.

Sorry have said this before but bain is never a Celtic player and lustig is pants needs replaced oh and ajer is not as good as people think . rant over top of the league and they're no 😂😂.

11 Nov 2018 17:01:02
Can I just point out the irony that you've picked out 3 defensive players as not being good enough on a day we didn't concede :)

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 17:10:04
Would rather play Bain than Gordon. Ajer is a decent prospect and the 3rd best CB at the club. Agree with Lustig though waste of a shirt along with Sinclair.

It’s a crisis, split in the dressing room, Rogers must go! 😂😂😂😂😂.

Bain played well. Yes ajer is.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 17:33:33
Bain had a few excellent saves and Ajer had a few excellent tackles and is improving all the time. Lustigs best days might be coming to a close they do for all of us but for me he’s been a great servant that has come to love the club and deserves to see his career out at Parkhead. As they say though opinions are like aholes we’ve all got one.

sorry jfp but can't agree mate, i like big lustig as much as anyone but if he's past it he's past it mate and should be let go never mind finishing career with us he's only 31 and could still pick a wage up for 3-4 years not for ne im afraid.

11 Nov 2018 19:04:20
Lummy you’ve got a point my friend that’s a totally reasonable perspective. The reason for my view is we often complain that there is no loyalty from players but loyalty is a two way street. I’m sure we’d all love KT to be here for life even though we know that’s unlikely. But if I’m KT and I see Lustig punted after giving his best years to the club i’d be thinking well there’s not much loyalty in that direction. 👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 20:57:06
yeah i see your point bud, but just think wages these boys are in they don't or shouldn't be given an easy payday, i even was bit peeved at henrik getting the million pound bonus fir staying extra year if it went ti charity then fair dos but just think these guys get paid very well and if they're to be replaced to make us stronger then it needs to be done and agree about KT but that laddie will go for serious money and will def play at the highest level every week . after 10 iar 😜.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 21:16:10
I’d give him a job for life after he stole that polis hat in the Sevco rout last year. I get what your saying Lummy and he is nearing retirement but he could probably still offer cover in the RB position whilst mentoring his replacement and I totally agree with JFP about loyalty to players. I think BR will take that into consideration in managing the situation.

11 Nov 2018 21:49:16
COYBIG absolutely new contract earned just for stealing the Polis hat and running past Joey the Budgie 👍☘️😂.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 12:54:43
I have heard that sky won the bidding but not much extra from last deal. SPL should say no deal until they up the anti but you know they won't "no balls" There are other options today Run the tv output for themselves then we can play the games when they want and offer great packages I for one would rather pay for an exclusive SPL package.

11 Nov 2018 13:58:16
On a footballing note-thought we were garbage today.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 14:14:04
We were definitely off the boil, with a couple not at their best, but the super-human effort on Thursday, that farcical bumpy-bouncy pitch and a very well organised defense were other factors I'm sure.
Can't complain one bit after what the team have produced in the last six weeks and anyway, that draw takes us top with a game in hand.
All that remains is to thank BR and the Bhoys for getting us back to where we belong and withdraw the players from EBT Utd lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 14:29:51
I don’t subscribe to SKY or BT as I refuse to find the EPL. I would happily pay for an exclusive SPL package and I’d willingly pay more than SKY or BT currently charge.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 16:14:09
Totally agree, sky has held back Scottish football for years. At least BT sport promoted the game and showed good coverage. As for the Muppet's in sky what can I say that hasn't been said before.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 18:47:17
The promotion of it (or lack of) isn’t the biggest issue for me. It’s the fact they put £1.7bn into English football and £30m into Scottish football that pisses me off. That’s the main reason clubs in the second tier of English football can pay higher wages than we can.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 09:40:10
I am expecting a very hard match today. Since we beat Livingston 3-1 in the opening game of the season, Livingston have the best defensive record in the league over the last 10 games. Over this period Celtic have conceded 5 goals and Livingston have only let in 4 goals in 10 matches. Their home record is also impressive, they have only conceded 2 goals at home in 6 games, that's 1 goal let in every 4.5 hours. If we can come away with maximum points we can put our feet up and enjoy 2 weeks break.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Bloody plastic park doesn't help should be banned at this level.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 09:18:28
Good luck to the Bhoys today, I'm sure we'll prove to be too strong for Livingston. Think there's going to be a few changes today due to the Artificial Pitch. We certainly don't need any more injuries.
I urge all our fans attending the game today to please respect the Minutes Silence and don't give the Media a bigger stick to beat us with.
I won't be wearing a Poppy as I have my own views on that. But I also won't bring our Clubs good name down by not staying silent.
COYBIG 🍀🍀🍀.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

11 Nov 2018 10:11:16
well said GT10.
Poppy? it's a personal choice.
I am on a couple of supporters sites and some of the hate and bile coming from so-called Celtic supporters on the subject is dreadful.
Anyway, it's about picking up the 3 points today and getting Celtic back where they belong TOP of the table.

Seen the discussion off McLean joining us again, just thought I’d share his stats as regardless if he’s a fan it’s a nah from me. A mean I have respect for the guy. He has his views and sticks to them along with being a very passionate man for his country which we lack for Scotland. if Scotland as a national team had players like him and a decent organization we would have qualified for a tournament by now. But al get to my point

He’s played 13 matches in total this season
12 in the championship = 1 Goal • 2 Assists
1 EFL cup and nothing.

That to me is simply nowhere near good enough in a league that’s extremely overrated. I’d much rather have Mikey Johnstone be giving a proper chance along with Morgan. we can’t gave talented prospects like them made wait for a below average player just because he’s a fan. For me personally he’d just me another waste of money that Johnny Hayes was for us. Might get some stick saying it but imo he’d just be a huge waste and in the way for our homegrown talent to get there chance.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

11 Nov 2018 09:21:46
I agree. Just because he's Irish and supports Celtic and would anger the rangers fans is no reason to sign someone.
Give what we've got a run out first.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 10:08:17
But our league is mince so he might do ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 11:16:28
Just because a player doesn’t play, doesn’t mean he’s a waste of money. Every big team has a full team of squad players that are of a level that they can offer a reasonable standard of cover to the first choice players if and when required. That’s what gives you strength in depth.
