Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Regarding new signings, I'd like to see us with, a right back who is dependable and can remain injury free, (we have been so unlucky with this position), a young fast direct striker, perhaps not the finished article but with Celtic he can boost his confidence and get better and better (plenty of chances), a solid centre back because I just feel Virgil will go and I don't want us having to make do with Charlie or Efe in there with crunch matches on the horizon.

What about giving young fisher a decent run in the team he hasn't let us down and turns in 7 out of 10 every performance could be better but does his job.center halves so far just Wilson strongly linked but early in the window for a striker I think we should go for experience over youth

We have 3 good right backs and surely the injuries will clear up! It's the last position we need to fill! Every one agrees we need a CF! we need a back up CM, LB and feck knows what we need in defence as I can see VVD leaving

{Ed007's Note - Remember Lustig can play as a CB too and the player himself said last summer that's where he sees his long-term future. Playing CB is not as physically demanding as playing as a full back so moving Lustig into the middle might help him avoid injury in the future, the player has said that his hip wasn't stiffening as much playing CB as it does when he plays RB.}

The centre back pairing is my main worry as VVD and Denayer were very consistent and protected Gordon very well.
It took a while for them to get momentum and we struggled at the start of the season, (Denayer was also missing with injury for a few weeks) but when we settled down, they were both majestic and contributed to a very successful season.
Mulgrew and Ambrose are certainly not the answer but if we add Lustig, then we may be able to juggle a makeshift back four until we get someone in?
The transfer window goes on long after the CL qualifiers are played, so it is not always easy to get who you want asap.
Otherwise, we may be looking at a big reshuffle in the back four at a time when we need to hit the ground running for CL qualification. I trust RD will have something planned and will have learned from getting caught cold last season.

Is everybody forgetting about boyata?

Hi bigp
I hadn't forgotten about Boyata butwe could be left with him alone if Virgil moves (Boyata being the recognised centre back. We would not want a brand new guy partnering a makeshift CB such as Efe or Charlie, (Lustig if he is fit, it his is injuries that concern me)
We really require a settled in CB pairing of young strong guys in there. Just like in the season just ended, those guys were making it look so easy, playing from the back, creating and scoring, I wish we could have had another 2 seasons out of Virgil and Jason. We need to hit the ground running, not trying to find our feet and then find we don't qualify for CL.

I not Efes biggest fan or Mulgrew for that matter but to stick up for them, both of them played regularly and took us to the CL. Denayer and VVD as good as they are didn't. They also were part of a team that hold the shut out record(that 1 is for u DN lol) so they can't be that bad facts speak for themselves.

I think Efe has showed good improvement under Deila . He has played in the four back four positions since the turn of the year and has played very well. I would certainly be happy with Efe as back-up.
It's difficult to know what Mulgrew will be like as he really hasn't played any this year . He could also have improved well, we will have to wait until we see .

I cannot for the life of me think how you could say Ambrose has improved. He is totally and utterly gash. A bombscare and a fatal flaw in Delia's copybook.

Anyone playing Ambrose still has a way to go. Also any player who Ambrose gets a game ahead of them
Needs to chuck it.

Ambrose oot the door ASAP.

Would u all be happy if we just siqned the 3 players we are linked with
-left back from Holland
Striker from Spain
Midfielder from Poland
Think our first team would be complete if our rb stayed injury free and our strikers scores 50+ goals

I think we might be in the market for another centre half. I would also like to see another striker being brought in. However the more the merrier if they are quality players.

I would worry about a striker from Spain . I think a striker from Northern Europe might fit in better to our system .

Think we'll defo need another centre half,VVD will be offski! I'd like a left back and striker to! And maybe a back up keeper! Strikers the priority for me but! How many seasons have we been sayin that for! Lol.2 or 3 players in the rite places and I would be confident going into the qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2015 21:02:48
Yeah but we need 2 or 3 players that can go into the first 11 that will improve the team not 3 players that have to develop like balde and so on

Yeh couldn't agree more mate!no point in buyin anybody who isn't going to come straight into the 1st team! A quality striker a left back and centre half and I would be happy! Let's hope RD can get Lawell to deliver the players he wants!

How many strikers who have played in Portugal Spain and other Southern European Countries have come to Celtic in the last ten years and played Consistently well?

Jim Jim , I asked the question because I didn't know the answer?

Am I missing something? Is that not normally the reason we ask questions?

Well we're probably talking

Scepovic - who deserved much more of a chance. I can see something in him from the start. RD has been working on a bit with him though so perhaps with the pressure of that first season off we may end up seeing a bit more? Or perhaps we'll punt him.

Balde - Gash.

Miku - Didn't really get a chance because he was cover.

Lassad - same goes for him. But could you even call him a striker?

Brozek - totally no chance given.

That's about it I think. Five(ish). And none of which were particularly allowed or needed for a run in which they showed consistency. Proportionately we've ad just as many bad strikers playing in northern Europe before us. I'd be more concerned about a striker that would suit European football myself as opposed to the SPFL anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 15:33:06
I think we need a striker who can do well in both domestic and European .
It will be exceptionally difficult to have a striker who can play well in Europe if he doesn't build up his confidence domestically first .
By the way thanks for posting your list of Spanish etc strikers , one reason I suspect that they didn't get pro-longed runs in the team , is the manager at the time maybe thought they didn't deserve it .

Alot of rumours going about now say we are taking Martin odegaard on a season long loan. Could be them looking at the pictures of him and ronny and more than likely deciding to try sell some newspapers

There's no doubting the lads talent and he would definitely add creativity to the team as we saw in his latest match for Norway but wondering 'IF' it's true where will that leave henderson in the squad

Again if it is true I would hate it to hinder hendersons game time but if it was to be the only other midfield player brought in I think there is chances for each of them to show what they are capable of
