Watching Sweden game tonight and really disappointed with lustig. Wonder if we could get rid of him when the window opens up.?
Surely no space for him with Matthews playing so well

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Totally agree about lustig mate, supposedly some English teams looking at him! I'd take a million for him, reinvest it in the team.

Byars38625

Agree4 Disagree0

Lustig isn't going anywhere, he only signed in January and is still to be given a proper run of games.

He's maybe lacking in a bit of bulk but he's tall and quick. His height will be an asset to the team in Europe. In him, two center halfs and Mulgrew at left back we'll have a defence that'll all be 6'2 or 3+. In games against tough, tall opponents this will give us crazy height advantage at the back and make us a genuine aerial threat from set pieces (I'd definitely be throwing the 4 of them forward at corners). Should we want to go ultra defensive we could play Izzy and Matthews as our wide midfielders. I reckon these are the key reasons Lennon signed him in particular.

Aside from that we were always going to be offloading Mark Wilson and Cha Du Ri - what was an overly competitive position now could be doing with a 3rd choice right-back (and we'll probably have one from the youth system).

Agree0 Disagree1

Im guessing because he was not on the post and a goal went in he is shiat right? he did alright, and has the hieght and speed. a couple of times he caught up to the guy with the ball when he was behind them as well had some good runs down the wing to get by the d. some ppl....lets see how he does after the next two up against harder teams then judge, if he scored 2 goals i bet you would be saying whos place would he take and how he is going to be soo good for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought u looked like a fish out off water the few times I've seen him.

away from celtic just now what do you make of the euros so far ? & randomly who do you think has the smartest strip(s)

the the look of france & sweden tops

lenny

Believable0 Unbelievable1

The Euros have been so disapointing so far but teams don't like to lose their first games so they are normally non-events.Next 2 rounds of games should be a lot better IMO.Re:the kits, the best kit out of all the teams still hasn't been worn yet.....Holland away. Not a big fan of black kits but that one is a belter.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny been disappointed by quality of games so far, I am not big Sammy's biggest fan, but after watching Benzema today Sammy is a world beater...
I did not like Sweden's tops, too dark for my liking.
Here is another thread what is most uplifting national anthem, France must be up there as well as Italy and of course the good old Soldier Song all rousing tunes... Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree3

The atmosphere when The Soldier's Song was being sung was something else.Poland and Ukraine fans really went for it during their anthems too.No prizes for guessing the worse!

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree2 Disagree1

The first rounds are always a bit disappointing and group stages in general can be a bit stiff with people watching other results, the last group games and the knockout stages is where it gets good, I did like the look of Russia in their first game though.

Edd007 : Have you any information on the team GB squad yet?.
And do you think Scotland captain Gary Caldwell will be with Team GB at the London Olympics despite the defenders on/off transfer sarga with Celtic?.

Mr Green Fingers.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

Mr Green Fingers erstwhile "Celtic" fan, have you any information on what type of soil Mr Green should use if he has to plant potatoes for a year as he said, cheers
Timalloy

Agree6 Disagree0

Mr Green Fingers and have you any information to help Mr Ogilvie, when he goes on gardening leave? Timalloy

Agree4 Disagree1

Caldwell mix up.
Ally mcoist has caldwell on his 316 strong list of targets. Ally was representing rangers at the world famous

Agree2 Disagree1

Mr green fingers can you stick to picking your nose rather than our defence.

Agree4 Disagree1

Truth about caldwell mix up.
in fact ally mcoist has added caldwell to his 326 strong list of targets, including everyone at euro 2012.
ally mcoist was in wigan representing rangers at the world famous world pie eating championships (a new initiative by charles green after he found out its too late in the year to plant spuds at ibrox). unfortunately ally was disqualified after the £25 entry fee cheque bounced. ally made his way to the bees knees pub where he joined in the famous merrydown drinking that goes on there. after a couple nobody could understand what ally was saying apart from, spl manager-caldwell-green and whyte. as nobody knew who he was they put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5 and decided he must be a celtic reperesentative in town to speak to caldwell and the story got out. everybody hopes ally, whoever he is, can come back for another go next year as they think he stands a good chance of winning. this is what mr. green fingers was trying to say and as you can see is clearly closer to the truth than the op.

Agree3 Disagree1

What a sad wee life you must have mr smelly fingers you only post to annoy people and make s**t up why? are you from the dark side tryin to kid on ur a tim. Get a life and stop postin rubbish!

I think you will find that Gary Caldwell was/is included in the team GB London Olympics provisional squad!.

Hi Ed, all thes nonsense stories of players being linked with Celtic are irratating. Other than McGeady the Irish players are over the hill , over-paid wasters. They all play for the lower EPL clubs and the last thing Celtic need is any of these guys near our team. Unfortunately the Scottish players are just as talentless - therefore rather than waste money - bring through the youth. Spend only on 1 big striker and 1 good centre half. Both can be funded by the sale of KI - who just aint good enough.

So what match will they be talking about during half time of the england game today? seems to be the theme that they talk about a completely unrelated game at half time

Believable4 Unbelievable0

HT in Sweden game and they're saying England have nothing to fear . Their arrogance shows no bounds . They were slagging a player who scored 35 goals in serie A this season . And he's just scored again......DH

Afternoon ED007, on another forum they were talking about Green having
17 players on his transfer list, 5 from Euro 2012 and one wag posted yes
Messi for Rangers, well in one way this is true because this week is going to get VERY MESSY for Rangers...
Also what about Mr Ogilvie, we Tims want to know what he did not know
and when he forgot what he did not know....Timalloy

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Evening Timalloy.

Surely ogilvie knows what we know about what he thought or dint think he knew about the clubs practice. That's why we know he is staying quiet, he also knows this and thus stays quiet.

So essentially he knows what we think we know but can't be sure about what we know cos he will never tell us what he knows or conveniently forgot..

Think that made sense lol

Timalloy you said tims want to know what ogilvie did not know , well if ogilvie did not know how can he tell you tims what he disny kno , tedbear

Agree0 Disagree1

Tedbear i deny all insinuations of ever having podged said carcass with said stick... infact i beleive i did and both did not podge said carcass with said stick depending on which one upholds my reputation better.

timalloy i cannot really claim with any certainty to know the things that i beleive i may or may not know. They could just be a conglomeration of things i have known and things others have known compressed into one giant mash of known/unknown-ness. Therfore i cannot say with any great certainty anymore about what i know, what he knew and what anyone else knows any more lol

The way I am seeing this Rangers mess is best summed up by the mental image it creates in my mind.

Basically we have a group of kids with sticks around what they think is a dead carcass but each time the prod it it twitches and they all go running away. They then are curious and come back day after day after day and repeat the process. One day a wiley old swiss farmer is surley going to come along with a shotgun and put it out its misery, as no one else seems to be able to. Maybe this is for the best. Maybe not but for a long time it seems like its the only outcome.

OK Time for the SFA to show they run Scottish Football. Be strong and admit they were wrong about the transfer sanctions they imposed. Apologise to the dark side and then ban them from the Scottish Cup and the League for one year as these are the punishments available and agreed by all members (including RFC). The RFC board, fans, Dumb and Dumber should be well pleased with this victory. If they get lucky, EUFA and FIFA will agree to this but might want to flex a bit of muscle to discourage other clubs from challenging local Associations. RFC cant go to court on that one!!!

Why are we not looking at McManus coming in? We need a big strong CB to partner the more articulate Mulgrew in defence. Strikes me since we let him go we haven't had a better defender...

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Your either Stephens agent or his wife!! McManus and Caldwell were/are awful.

Celtic fans Associations should publicly declare their intention to boycott away games next season and instead support the U-19s and developement squad on Celtic away games. Celtic FC should refuse to handle any tickets for away games. Let's keep all our money at Celtic.

So I am from Kenya and I became a celtic fan after you guys bought Wanyama. The young boy is the real deal, he broke into the national team at 17yrs of Age and he has never been left out, he is going to be one of the best midfielder from Africa soon. Down here everyone is saying he is leaving Celtic for aN EPL team, what a waste, he was growing so well at celtic, he says he doesn't want to leave but they say his agent has alot of influence over the young kid..sad half the country was turning into celtic fans down here.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I hope he stays with us for at least another year(but would love him to stay for 5years) your right he is going to be great and i think maybe one of the best in a few more years. i thought with Celtics history and charities and fans he would want to stay for longer and develop more in CL. hate how agents get involved and turn players heads but i thought Wanyama was down to earth and wouldnt be turned by money. hope Celtic still have fans over there if he does leave and i hope Celtic showed yous just what type of club we are and still will follow. Wanyama is a fan favorite and if he stays another year one of the biggest clubs in Europe would come in for him, i just cant see him going to a small epl club when he can play with us and play against some of the best in CL,which is what i thought he wanted

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats been said here to, but the only club ive seen linked is QPR which would be the biggest mistake of his career if he went to them, also supposedly he chose celtic over villa so hopefully he sees the potential of stayin at celtic for the mean while

Agree2 Disagree0

Does he listen to his brother?Maybe he has said he needs to try the EPL?I hope a wage increase can keep him here for another year at least.

Edd7 I'm really not sure Whats with all this Gary Caldwell bashing?.
If he does come back to Celtic and I hope he does As a player he's going to give us a different outlook and he'll be a great asset to have in the squad. He's got great experience and international pedigree!

Mr Green Fingers

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Well we'll see if you do come ba... i mean see if he does come back or if it's just rumours..

Agree4 Disagree0

Pedigree dug food...col give us a break...col

Agree1 Disagree0

We have had a few centre back problems in the last few seasons, however we had the best defensive record in the SPL.
(But that is scarcely the greatest test)
Loovens, Dan, Cha and big Wilson all had a few howlers as did 'Heid' in the past, but I agree he has bottle and character and the experience of the EPL will have prepared him for tough opponents (C.L.)
Who would we lose in any deal? Would be my main concern.

Jungle JIm

Agree1 Disagree3

Very much doubt you are a celtic fan either that you are the one and only member of the gary caldwell fan club, the guy cost us more games especially in europe than big dan or loovens put together.
davy

Agree6 Disagree0

Sorry i dont want you to take this the wrong way but he was pi=h for us he like many other footballers only realy start putting ther all in to a game when ther playing is gona effect ther money or they want a move and he was a prime example ,i would rather give one of are young bhoys a chance than go in to the past and relive and pay for someone that dont give ther all for are club

Agree2 Disagree0

Come on, the op is no celtic fan. Its tedbearar5es identical twin.

Just has a wee look at the mufc site. Man its boring. Its all 20m for this guy and 60m for that guy. It made me think, do we really want to be like that? We've Seen what happens when money takes over. That bubble down south will bust too. This season has been an eye opener in scottish football. We need wholesale changes with youth football at the forefront. Maybe now the Murray folly has been exposed we can start to find ways to produce players again. {Ed007's Note - Man Utd are actually one of the best run clubs financially, even paying the Glazer debt. They have in the past and always will be able to pay big money for players without the need for any sugar daddies and will easily be in line with the FFFP regs. But if you think that is bad look at the NUFC site, I have been 'debating' with a guy since last night that says Reading are a 'bigger' club than CFC or Rangers (disregarding their current problems) are!!!}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Wasnt having a go at utd in particular ed. I used to go and watch them in atkinson and sexton days. In reality theres no difference between a morton fan and a utd fan. They pays their money. I just think that some fans of big clubs are more interested in the money aspect of it all. The fc united project is interesting but the 'succulent lamb' brigade in manchester pretty much ignore it.
