Don't know if u have answered this before ed so apologies if u have but do u know if celtic were seriously looking into the idea of a standing section at parkhead and if they were do u think all that has gone on with the green brigade will have altered the thinking I'm all for standing areas in stadium as a feel it brings a much better atmosphere was just wondering with all the talk of lack of atmosphere at parkhead

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There was a presentation and demonstration of safe standing facilities at CP on Wednesday although I don't know how advanced any negotiations with the authorities are Dez.}

What's your feelings on this ed a think it would help drum up some atmosphere which at the moment is badly lacking at parkhead

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's definitely something that should seriously be considered. It would need to be priced accordingly and the fans would need to show they can be trusted behaviour wise regarding alcohol etc.}

Why do we need standing areas to create
Atmosphere, 2 ingredients were the GB
And CL nights, no one standing but the
Atmosphere was there, it's pure lethargy
To what we are seeing on the park, 2
Quality signings and a massive apology to
The GB on the way they were treated after
Seatgate would be a start , and while I'm
On what have the
Club done for any fan still having problems
Over in Amsterdam, I'm not for one minute
Saying all of the GB or all of the fans in
Amsterdam are innocent but the club must
Be proactive to clear this up, maybe they are
Behind the scenes, Ed007 could you shed
Any light on these matters, cheers in advance

{Ed007's Note - As far as I know the GB situation has reached an impasse although I expect that to change in the near future, round about when ST renewal forms are due out. As for the Amsterdam situation I really have no idea, sorry. I'll get in touch with one of the Bhoys involved tomorrow for an update and let you know, remind me about it.}

Will do Ed cheers, on the game later on today hope Lenny goes with balde and pukki this will be a stiffer test, also did we sign the young goalie earlier on in the season if so why not give him some time, most guys are excited about these games because we've tried different players (younger) that's what's needed at Celtic Park IMO G/nite and God bless
Catchye the morra . :)))

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Goodnight mate. The young GK Max Oberschmidt only signed to play the in the youngsters CL competition, his loan deal expired on December 31st and he has returned to Fulham.}

The best way to get the place rockin & creating a buzzin atmosphere is really very simple, play a high tempo constructive attacking style of football (the real Celtic way) instead of the tediously slow 5 yard sideways passing predicable shat! we are currently having to endure week in week out, after all pace will terrorise ANY defence be it in League, Domestic Cup competitions or CL,

Agree0 Disagree0

Ths a was only making a suggestion because the atmosphere right now is dire and am pretty sure the gb stood for pretty much the full game when they were there surely a standing area would bring an atmosphere back a bet the green brigade would have backed the idea I do agree though if the football we were playing was better that would help and if the stewards and police were to stop harassing fans as much as for the gb themselfs a for one would allow them back but I can't see it happening now till nxt season as for Amsterdam I would have liked celtic to have been more protective of the fans and backed them more a know a few of the boys personally and the treatment they got was shocking a don't think some fans realise how bad it was for them

Is the way were playing maybe not something to do with trying to play the same way through out all competitions (Europe). The slow build up, keep possession game. Somebody had posted to get the way we play the same from youth to first team. It's hard for a team like celtic to go free flowing attacking football against some of the best teams with the best players they just sit in and pick us off (juventus, Ac)

Agree0 Disagree0

Kinda agree Monkeybhoy, would be great just to watch free flowing attacking football but there's the question of the opposition who will stop this happening.

We are not in a position to play this way against teams like Juventus or Barcelona - we all witnessed what happened there :-(

Can you imagine we were up against Bayern Munich?

In our domestic games its been nothing more than frustrating, other Clubs seem happy just not to be on the end of a demoralising gubbing and just put 11 players behind the ball. Dundee Utd maybe the exception, we'll see how Aberdeen play the Scottish Cup tie.

We need a playmaker who can break these teams down. It's very frustrating lol

@(5) I think it's more of a control thing with the Board, if there are no seats it lends more to swaying, moving around more and it's less easy to police, at the Partick game when they started the saville pish, one of our supporters reacted to it aggressively and was thrown out, nothing done about the chid abuse chants, sums up the police and what our stewards directives are, I'm happy enough with the seating, no more fighting with guys that are drunk trying to get a space where there is none, only my opinion cheers bud :))

Who thinks we should be signing young players that have experience of playing at the top level not players that are playing with clubs scrapping to stay in there top leagues. it's just like us buying players from hearts and hibs . Neil said we where going to buy quilty players to players to make the numbers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We signed Victor Wanyama fi Germinal Beerschot in summer 2011, they finished 13th out 16 teams in Belgium's top flight his last season with them and dissolved last year. We signed Gary Hooper fi Scunthorpe the summer before that, they finished 20th put 24 teams in England's second tier his final season wi them. We spent £3.3m on those two and raked in £18m for them, so I think your argument is null and void.

Marc Janko trying to talk himself into a move to Celtic. I know the mindset of some of our regular posters is "he's had his chance" blah blah blah. For me it's a no brainer. He wants out of Trabzonspor which means they may accept a smaller fee and he wouldn't command a high wage as he's desperate to just get away. We are crying out for an all round striker like him: good in the air and on the ground. Big, strong and relatively quick. At 30 we could get a good 3 years out of him and he'd be a stick in for at least 20 a season.

Why should knocking us back before stop him signing for us now that just sounds petty if used as a reason, could understand if he said not very nice things as a meaning for not signing.
If the big man still has it then think it would be a good signing we seem to sign everybody at a young age, we need some experienced players would say that's key to helping youngsters develop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevbhoy,, janko has only broke 20 or more twice in his career 2008-9, 2009-10 . and his career average is 12.4 a season,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but he is normally playing in harder leagues than ours, I'd take the chance on him. We want the finished article up front and he is it. Certainly isn't messi but I have a feeling he could make balde a much better player. So even of he doesn't score that much, the tips balde gets from him could turn the bhoy into a 20 goal a season striker.

Looking at his stats there now am not so sure why has he played so little games in all these years. When av seen him thought he looked good mind you.
Don't think the Austrian, Dutch and Portuguese leagues are of a gr8 standard

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but MB, they might not be great standards in your eyes, but they're far superior to the SPFL according to UEFA's coefficient. The Scottish Premiership is ranked 23rd out of 54 top tier national leagues in Europe - Portugal's Primeira Liga is 5th, Netherlands' Eredivisie is 8th and Austria's Bundesliga is 14th lol.
