So next year when we need 3 points and an inconsistent Celtic need these points to stay level at the top in a 3 horse race and sevco come to town, are we to stay away from Celtic park in case we are seen to be endorsing the visiting clubs status? Anyone at the game on Sunday or the armchair brigade will be whooping and clenching fists in utter delight if / when Celtic hit the back of the net. When it goes to 2-0 and we play around a little there will be cries of olayyyyy olayyyy

We will breath a sigh of relief when the dust settles and we can look forward to a final

The grand-standing doesn't help anyone. If it is about the SFA does it mean that whether it be a semi or a final Celtic will never enjoy full backing when we take on a domestic competitor who knows how to land trophies? Are we being serious?

So what if there's cheating? Clearly the system is rigged if the cheating is so very obvious. Referees. Administrators. The law. The government itsellf? Why should Celtic be disadvantages by a lower turnout of fans roaring them on? Is the theory that we will move mountains and change a century's worth of systemic bias?

No one should feel compelled to go but those who could go but choose not to ( on a point of principle ) need to look up the meaning of " fan ".

Could those not going ( trouble aside ) explain what they hope to achieve by not going and how such behaviour will drive change, and what would change require to entail for you to attend a Celtic V Sevco match at a neutral venue? Or will it never be enough? Does that mean no more semi or final celebrations when a city rival is defeated?

{Ed007's Note - Nice of you to come on telling people what they should be doing, how they should be thinking and what they should be spending their money on. In things like this you're better passing your opinion and leaving it at that - otherwise you just come across like a sanctimonious tit trying to force people into what you think they should do. Nobody's calling you an Old Firm supporter rather than a CFC supporter are they, or even calling you a mug for supporting the cheating?
So why does it bother you so much what other people do? Is that you our resident uber-fan now that we have all to be compared to now?}

12 Apr 2016 00:28:01
Paradisewon as usual I got bored after a couple of sentences. Clearly you think you are a super supporter, the role model fan. Well your not!

Who are you to judge what fellow supporters feel about the game? Every fan has the right to their own opinion and it doesn't matter what idiots like yourself think. I personally will not even entertain game against that mob. I don't agree with corruption, ripping off honest hardworking businesses out of money, projecting an impression its okay to defraud and vulgar sectarian abuse from a segment of their support. Does that make me less of a fan than you?

A "fan" wouldn't come on this page, desperately trying his/ her hardest to find fault and critise every good performance by player/ team or result. I think it should be yourself that "looks up the meaning of fan"

12 Apr 2016 07:15:48
Picking up on one of paradisewon points which could get lost by his manner of posts, what will it take for the fans who are refusing to go to or in some cases even watch the match against rangers to return to watching/ attending Celtic in a semi or final against rangers? And will you attend the one/ two matches against them in the league next year at home?

We all know they are a disgrace! They have been the biggest embarrassment, from top to bottom, in world football since they were born! Like my papa used to say to me - it always has been and always will be about what we do! The last 5 years is another example of us fecking things up regardless! If we have to be 10%, 20% or whatever it is better than them then we should find a way! My problem with Celtic is we've always given people ammunition to have a go at us as well, not for anything sinister, just schoolboy error after schoolboy error. I want us to be so much better than them in every single way that they are a complete irrelevance! It goes without saying that everyone has their own views and it's obviously their choice whether they go to the game or not.

Exactly Jim But sometimes the point is lost on some and they choose to make a big noise and deflect away from the point because they can't answer the question. It's a forum for questions is it not Ed? Why don't you break the original post down line by line and see if your response was justified. I won't hold my breath. Oh and when you do remember to quote me.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - OK here goes:

Blah blah blah CFC fans will celebrate a win on Sunday. Even I, the great Paradisewon, who never has a good word to say about the manager or any the players will celebrate while thinking of how I can turn it into a negative - and believe me, the magnificent Paradisewon, there will be plenty of negatives.

Bollox bollox blah blah I'm all excited about playing Rangers on Sunday and so should you be.

Blah blah blah twaddle wibble It doesn't mattter if Rangers and the SFA cheated, you can't do anything about it so just forget it and get on with it. Forget your principles and take your soup, for that's what I, Paradisewon, the greatest CFC /Old Firm supporter in the world done.

Wibble wibble If you don't go you aren't a real fan and I, Paradisewon, THE greatest CFC/Old Firm supporter ever to exist, demands to know why you aren't going.

One of the other reasons I'm not going is in case I end up sitting next to a Superfan like you. Will you be buying a half n half scarf as a keepsake?

People are perfectly entitled to decide whether they go to matches or not, I just don't understand the argument that going to Sundays match somehow makes what sevco did legitimate.
For years before they were liquidated, Celtic fans went to support them at ibrox, I doubt if any of them thought by doing so they were somehow agreeing to all the sectarianism and bigotry coming out of there.
In the same way, playing a team from Russia doesn't mean that we agree with them occupying the Ukraine or Crimea, or we won't go to a match against a Serbian team because their country committed war crimes.
I think that if you start to go down this road, you could find reasons for not going to any matches.

{Ed007's Note - It smacks of the Poppy bullying that goes on every year with people determined to force their own way on people rather than respecting the individuals' opinion or decision. It's up to the individual what they do and they don't have to explain or justify yourself to nobody.
The Club had to contact ST holders who were previously unsuccessful in the ballot to sell out our allocation and that they weren't sold out until late yesterday afternoon so there's plenty of people not just lying there and accepting getting their belly tickled. It's strange that nobody got so upset about the crowd against Morton.
Oh well at least if our 'best fans in the world' decide to boo any our own players it'll be drowned out by half the stadium belting out The Billy Boys and being up to their knees in Fenian blood, FTP etc.}

12 Apr 2016 14:34:46
Gerryc your grasp of current world affairs and this of history is utter garbage, 1. Russia has not occupied Ukraine or Crimea, the are however involved in a proxy war with the UK and US, started by a U. S. Paid for coup on a legitimate government based on lies that they would be allowed into Europe, while Crimea voted in a snap referendum allowed by law due to the overthrow of the legitimate government by blood thirsty fascists. 2. Serbs were defending their great socialist country from the terrorist organisation nato who wanted to break it up so as to weaken Russian allies while also paving the way for them to join nato and the EU. Or did you forget that nato bombed civilians day and night for 4months with UN APPROVAL which is required in international law. I will no longer accept anything you say unless you show proof as you have shown yourself to be easily led by tax dodging politicians and elite owned media. But I'm glad your still happy to play Russian football teams if we qualify for the CL.

"Half n Half" scarves they be as popular as the NL catalogue Ed eh?

I have never ever enjoyed the Old firm games and have my reasons for that but cannot understand some of the posters stance on here Ed

Are they trying to "drum up" support for this game because they think the other half will be full or berate the ones that are not going?

Flock me changed days that they new someone that new someone that was getting them a ticket or the glory hunters that cherry picked there games (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Those half n half scarves are the biggest red neck in modern football. It just shows you the amount of day trippers and tourists that go to games these days.
We've got people in our support that wouldn't back the team at Celtic Park in the EL because it wasn't their precious CL but they're getting a chubby over a domestic cup semi-final against a lower league team at Hampden. #BestFansInTheWorldWhenItSuits

It has always been said that the Celtic club is a broad Church open to all. The broadness of the Church will be apparent on Sunday if ( when ) we win against our Young city rivals. If we disposes of Sevco handsomely in years to come with all the fans claiming to be present, it will appear that the attendance at Hampden on Sunday will be a magical 100k+.

Ive not made one game this season, managed three last season (due to lack of funds) but during or at the end of ninety minutes whenever celtic play, i'm glued to the tv or radio to hear the score.

Ive been to hundreds of games since the early 70's, i was there in good and bad days, when our home games were at hampden and even managed a couple of europe away games when i was younger.

So i can't take it serious that because i'm not heading to the semi final i'm less of a supporter than others. Would i go on sunday if i could afford it? Probably not. Last Celtic/ Rangers game i was at Lex Bailey scored and i got jumped heading home to EK, just got married 3 weeks before and ended up in hospital for 4 days. I will never set foot in any ground that we play rangers or the tribute team the rangers again.

But that does not make me less of a supporter than others IMHO.

You didn't answer the actual question ; IE what would it take ( IE change ) that would make you want to attend a game against them at a neutral venue?

Again I won't hold my breath because to answer would require a totally different prerogative from your last retort

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's nothing that will make me change my mind. I won't set foot in Hampden again in my life and the only place I'll ever see us play the new club is Celtic Park. That's my choice and I'm not forcing it on anyone else - unlike some - and I'm not claiming to be some kind of superfan - unlike some.
I wouldn't advise you holding your breath, your brain needs all the oxygen it can get.}

We have another example today as to why the people who run our game at the top are not fit for purpose . Surely the most important thing for our official is to give us the date times and venues for the last five fixtures of the SPL season . Fans have travel arrangements to make and family events to work around .
If this was a local street league they would have had the whole thing sorted out at 10am
The problem our half wits that run the game is that instead of fans the SPL put the over time of the police officers top of their agenda . The aim is to have the fixtures so arranged police pick up maximum wages.

Just reading the posts below about tickets for semi final, I too turned down chance of them. When I told my ex bear pals this, this was their reply, "there will be big empty spaces at the Celtic end, because they are AFRAID to watch their team getting humped"
When I stopped laughing, which took some time, I told them most Celtic fans did not want to be part of the vile eminating from the Sevco end and me and the girls would not be there, while others were protesting abot the SFA turning various blind eyes to all the new club's cheating.
But I have heard this from other currents also, they really think the dough man has turned them into world beaters. I also told them that at least with the silverware the new club has amassed, King will be able to go to the local pawnshop and give Warbo some much needed transfer cash. Minus of course the money Sevco owe the SPFL.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

11 Apr 2016 18:19:55
I can totally understand people not wanting to go to the semi final because they are worried about the trouble or feel intimidated by the occasion, but I don't get the argument that fans don't want to go because sevco are a new club.
I personally don't give a stuff who we're playing, to me I just want to see us get to the cup final, it doesn't matter to me whether it's sevco or East Sterling who we're up against I just want us to win the match.
As I said, I'm not knocking anyone who is worried about trouble, but apart from that I wouldn't let any other team stop me from supporting my team in a semi final. In my opinion, if the Celtic end had lots of empty seats in it the only team that would benefit from that would be sevco, what is the point of that.

Agree3 Disagree1

11 Apr 2016 21:18:50
We have always thought that there was the right way to do things, the Celtic way .
Unfortunately sometimes the greed of the club and a serious lack of understanding by some fans of what is involved in good practices involves . We must demonstrate a total abborance of tax fiddling and cheating on a major scale . We know Sevco is a new lower league club and we are meeting them in the semi final of the cup . That been the accurate state of affairs the club should struggle to sell half their allocated tickets . Would tickets be as scarce as hens teeth if we were playing the like of Falkirk who unlike Sevco are a long established team from the same league as Sevco .
Please don't show Celtic and their great fans up by rushing to gawk at the new club.

11 Apr 2016 21:32:20
I'm concerned about trouble so I will not be going.
As for the result? If we play as we have been doing and that lot have more to prove then it could be awkward. owever, if we can keep 11 men on the park then we should be going back to Hampden in May. (keeping 11 on the park will be a challenge though)

11 Apr 2016 21:40:54
Totally agree Gerry , I would be there no matter who we were facing, I'm glad we're facing a side from the lower leagues as our recent record at that dump Hampden in semi finals against Spl opposition is abysmal. I wonder if RD will choose to play a few fringe players on Sunday considering the standard of opposition we're facing? I can't recall an easier route to a SC final all lower league opposition.

Balanced books in the worst period of Scottish football

It's not all bad, let's hope someone comes in with an ambition for the team.
I remover the abuse wee Ferguson used to get and now people realise his worth.
So let's not get on our high horse, I wouldn't be upset with a change either, but pistol Pete has done a lot for this club (and received by the way)

Agree1 Disagree5

11 Apr 2016 18:54:05
Island celt:

1. Balanced books by selling best players and replacing with substandard class of player.

2. Five in a row was always a certainty at start of season, no matter how bad we play due to no real challengers.

3. Drop in attendances and season ticket sales which means loss of revenue.

4. Current manager and past 2 appointments have had us all divided and bickering amongst ourselves.

5. Cutting corners with cheap options has ultimately cost club £80m in past 6 seasons due to failure to back manager (s) resulting in not qualifying for CL.

6. Sanctioned transfers of some of the worst players to wear the hoops like bangura, pukki, balde, juarez, boerigter and ultimately substantial loss on these crackers.

7. Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk covered these losses meaning an average transfer revenue of £2.5m profit each season. Not that great is it?

8. John Park

Sunderland please pull out all the stops to get him.

Are you saying he's done nothing? I remember when arsenal were sniffing around him and everyone was worried he'd go!
I agree with many of your points, but let's look forward; we have the stadium and the training facilities and we are a world wide name.
As I said if he goes I'll welcome a change in approach, but the starting point will be better for any incoming CEO

I've posted before stating I do not agree with the transfer policy and the fans are split on the manager - personally I would want the manager to have the final word on all in's/ outs, a general Manager doesn't always work - jock brown was Fergus man and he was hated at the time (fergus and brown) but now we realise the benefits.
To say lawell has done nothing is incorrect, you may not agree with it, but I believe he has.
It's the wasteful expenditure on transfers that gripes me the most, buy the best you can afford at the times it will pay off.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Apr 2016 21:27:51
I suppose the P L knockers have all been successful CEO at top SPL teams in the past so they know exactly the criteria for a successful CEO .
Surely they are not like myself not fully aware of the standards of what a good CEO should achieve . I suppose we can rely on what the MSSM tell us .
Should we have for decades outspent Rangers as many fans use to shout and write about or should we try to live within our means most of the time . Or has the decisions on income / expenditure nothing to do with the CEO whose sole responsibility is to obey the monetary limits set by board .
I reckon most of us if honest don't know exactly a CEO's responsibility is.

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Apr 2016 21:42:51
Island Celt did I say he's done nothing? What I have illustrated of late is his major failings. Crucial repeated failings that have turned club in wrong direction.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2016 22:17:55
old boy no one is claiming to have all or any knowledge of what a CEO is or does, however he has consistently wasted money on complete duds. He has balanced the books fantastically looking at it as a business, he has downsized us to go with the current financial situation which is fine. But had he used the money available better we could have generated more funds (from champions league) which would give us more money to then balance the books without severely affecting the playing squad. Like I said I'm no expert but had we competed better in Europe it would raise our coefficient rating, which generates more income for Scottish football as a whole as we would have better chances for other teams to make it in, which would give them more income as well and if everyone else improves the standard of our game raises which gives us even more income due to interest and TV deals. I could be talking garbage here as I don't know the true situation but surely making us a worse team and destroying our global image and putting fans off is a completely suicidal policy for any club.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2016 22:20:46
Who Dn30 is responsible for repeated failings .
Does Laweell set the financial limits and works within them .
Or is his hands tied by the Board setting limits which results in him having to take the decisions he has .
I don't think we know this Dn30.

This has been farcical how Celtic have dealt with the ticket distribution for the semi but check with ticket office as there are some tickets on sale to season ticket holders on a first come basis provided you don't already have a ticket. Good luck.

{Ed007's Note - I said on the live chat on Saturday that there was plenty of tickets left. A girl in the ticket office I'm friends with told me that there has been a hell of a lot of people getting in touch to say they won't be attending because of the new club myth and/or Res 12.
Much to my nephew and his pal's dismay I didn't take any tickets for Sunday's match and I would have got 2 from my season tickets and 1 or 2 from the Pools office.}

11 Apr 2016 13:25:36
Our club has often treated it's own supporters with contempt and taken them for granted - as long as the cash comes streaming in.

DEEAITCH I totally feel the same about Hampden. But am going. It's an athletics stadium, not a football stadium for me. Scotland could really do with a national stadium that helps add to an atmosphere. Celtic Park? I wouldn't oppose to that, I'm sure our neighbours with their 5 star rated sh*tpit would, but those stars are rated on BS things anyway. Celtic Park is actually already Scotland's second home and has seen much better atmospheres.

KebBhoy I tried to do a little research into res12 because like you I knew nothing about it. From what I managed to gather quickly. I think it's relating to the SFA and old Rangers and what they did and what they didn't do even although There was protocol to be followed in a situation when a club owes out money to the HMRC relating to entry into European football qualification. I'm not 100% sure of I've got the whole story (or even half) so hopefully Ed007 or paradise can post a beast of a message on the site or perhaps some lovely bullet points for people like myself to easily understand :)

That's right Pedro, I actually have heard a little bit about it. People saying we should have got their CL place due to it. I have to be honest though, I'm totally fed up with all this tax case, liquidation chat. I know it's important, especially if there were cover ups and cheating and this is an opinion page where folk are quite entitled to discuss whatever they want but at the end of the day I'm a football fan, more precisely a Celtic supporter and I long for the day when this site and all the social media pages got back to talking about football and Celtic and not the guff from across the city and their dodgy dealings. And as much as some people on here will undoubtedly disagree, in my eyes they play in the same colours, at the same stadium and are followed by the same horrible knuckledraggers as before and I want to beat them just as much on Sunday as I always have. Ignore the cheating, non registration, tax fiddling and set up an enquiry with terms of reference to not find Rangers guilty . Allow the football reputation of all of Scotland to be tarnished and destroyed as long as Ranger remain.
