I see "King of the cheaters" has once again tried to bring Celtic into things again. I want our board to now go on the television and tell him to concentrate fully on his own team's problems. Also Lawwell should also tell the "glib and shameless liar" to stop talking about other team's players, as he promised he would, Allan is a Celtic player stop talking about him.

The day late ranger has sunk to a new level today using a two page piece about scotlands greatest ever manager and turning it into a trumpet piece about Scotland's most overrated player and overrated club manager Graeme souness , disgusting.

Spot on Fab1, started to read what I though would be a article on Jock Stein the legend.like yourself Fab, could`nt believe they turned the two page memorial on Steins greatness,(yep two pages on Big Jock)
into a story about how selfless, humble, and what an exceptional team player Souness was. insulting.

RIP Big Jock. I listened to the tribute on jock stein tonight on bbc radio Scotland, and I have to say the tribute was excellent and they interviewed souness on the phone, and I've never been a fan of him, but they way he spoke about the great man was amazing and held him in the highest regard. Well worth a listen to how they all talked about the Great man.

My abiding memory of the passing of Jock Stein is still very fresh in my mind.
I was on holiday in Spain with my family at the time.
This was before mobile phones and email,we didn't even have Sky tv.
The match was broadcast on Spanish tv with a link provided by Eurovision, the more mature of you will remember this.
I was watching the match in a bar, nothing unusual there, but when the match ended and Mr Stein went to leave the dugout he collapsed, the Eurovision link stopped immediately, not because of what had just happened, but this was the normal practice,as soon as a programme ended so did the link,l think it was purely financial, the Eurovision link was expensive in those days.
I tried to find out what had happened but . In those days news didn't travel quickly, even the British newspapers were 2 days old when you got them.
It was the next day when I found out what had happened, with the help of a Spanish waiter who was a Real Madrid/Celtic fan that was my holiday finished.
I was still in Spain with my family, but I could have been anywhere really,we had lost the greatest manager of his generation and the greatest manager Celtic would ever have.

RIP MR. STEIN

Costa Tim there are lots of anecdotes about Jock here are some I recall, as we know Celtic and Scottish referees have an uneasy relationship well big Jock had a simple answer for any referee he perceived to give unfair decisions against us, in the dead of winter he would inform the Celtic Park tea ladies NOT to give a referee any tea after the match and also instructed the ground staff to turn off the hot water to shower with, the said referees soon got the message.
He also called out any Scottish journalist he thought favoured the old now defunct club down ibrox way. Almost to a man they were too gutless to stand upto his questions.

I remember reading an article by Jim Craig about a game years ago, Celtic were playing poorly and at half time Big Jock was going round the players one by one giving them pelters , Jim Craig was a sub that day and he said ' I thought I was in the clear as I wasn't playing, but when his turn came , Big Jock said ' and as for you Craig, you're even worse, you can't even get into this team ' .

So VVD has not kicked a ball for Southampton yet he was good enough for a call up now?

Makes you laugh!

Given Holland's recent results I'm surprised Dick Van Dyke didn't get a call up.

10 Sep 2015 21:52:01
On the box and also Amazon stick you need to make sure you buy one that has kodi installed on it. You will get all Celtic games on this and ssn, BT sport and all. You can't get Celtic TV at present. All latest movies and TV shows form UK and America plus many more

10 Sep 2015 22:09:15
You can get good ones from about £55 onwards. You just plug into TV the port and switch TV on. That is it set up and ready to play. You get HD channels and they just update when in use. The big thing as I said, make sure kodi is pre- installed as that is what it all comes on. The thing you want to buy is called jail broken with kodi set up on it

Can still remember him barking and scowling from the dugout when the team slipped below his high standards, or certain players were not doing the business.
He was quick to praise the players when they did perform, although modest himself and never forgot the huge importance of the support. We will never see his like again and fans of a certain age are very lucky to have witnessed the legend.

Allrighty ed see a few guys mention this android box going to get rid of sly now 55 bucks a month for them to pump all the money back into engurland. What is the best one to get so a get all the channels cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - if all you want is to stream sports any will do fine. The speed of your connection is going to be the main issue.}

10 Sep 2015 10:08:06
Naw she wants the movies aswell when out working kids want the cartoons can't win haha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - streaming? If so any box will still be fine. It is only if you want games or other apps that you need to think about something like a T8. For most people they are just overpaying for something they don't need getting the best box.}

10 Sep 2015 19:16:32
I've got the T8 and it is great, the benefits of having a box is it's connected to my tv permanently, you don't need a box though you can install kodi on any Android device and add all the sources you need for genesis , phoenix, uk turks, sports devil etc which gives you endless movies and live football and works just as well as having a box. But as Ed says the most important thing is to have a fast internet speed.

There has been talk about RD and big matches and big calls. He needs to get more right than wrong in the next Month. We need to dispose of Aberdeen and hearts and put up a fight ( ie measured performance) against Ajax.

Results can paper over cracks so I am more about performance because normally the results follow even if you get the odd hiccup. Performance reveals true strength ( many will disagree I am sure)

So I think this "upcoming window" is key for Ronnie to consolidate and build confidence in the team and that will filter though to the stands. The worry is that we seem to be in perennial transition. A new defence. Question marks over selections from middle to front. During pre season I was one of few who was buoyant and waxing lyrical about our motivated, fit, hungry and progressive squad and certain individuals therein.

We lost our way or at least I think we have lost that buoyancy. I don't know how or why

So for me at least I think CFC are already at a crossroads. Nothing a few commanding domestic performances wouldn't solve and a deserved away draw in Europa and a home win on the board against the the Turkish side ( or a performance that merits 3 points).

I hope we can get back to where we were at during last season's purple patch when you just knew the performances were in the locker and the results brought a smile

Hail hail

Big teams win big matches and turn on the style. In our little backwater ( SPFL) we should expect nothing less given our financial advantages

Man for man we still have the best equipped domestic squad, however, through injury and patchy form we look vulnerable.
The loss of VVD will no doubt affect an already shaky defence but we have more than enough attacking options to call on.
RD has to be more flexible in his formation and tactics as different opponents demand different strategy.
The 'lone striker' is not always the best option and altering formation will make us less predictable - as I feel that our opponents are always prepared.
It's a shame we never offloaded Stokes and Boerigter etc as I don't think they will contribute much as we compete for trophies and try to recover some European respect.

Your totally right PW about the purple patch. But that's all its been a "purple patch" all the rest (about 80%) of our play has been very poor.
Yet our manager is lauded by some, why I don't know.
Your an even keeled guy and says it as he sees it, but have any of our signings since he arrived inspired you?
Or our play for that matter?

10 Sep 2015 19:22:51
Paradisewon you talk some amount of horse dung. You do realise that with regards transfers, RD has no say, its JP who deals with that? So with this in mind, how do you work its that its "key for Ronnie to consolidate and build confidence in the team"?

You are quickly and rapidly falling into the trap that PL has cleverly constructed if all fails, blame RD

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Sep 2015 21:41:00
Okay DN30 The manager is totally and completely unaccountable. That really is some job he has got. A good tradesman never blames his tools. When the team wins and he does the roar he would be as well asking PL to do it or John park. In fact why does RD even go to the games?

You are accountable for offering some kind of précis on how RD is to be ultimately judged. Oh and as regards PL I am not a huge fan but then I don't know the constraints being placed on him ether

We should get rod Stewart in as boss to liven up the place and he could do a wee singalong at half time

Hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Sep 2015 22:40:20
If he was allowed to have a say in what players he wants in, we would be in a far better position.

You say a good tradesman never blames his tools? I agree to a certain extent. Would you be happy if a joiner appeared at your door to fit a kitchen with the industry equivalent of Ambrose, Mulgrew, Forrest or Cifti? You wouldn't have much faith.

I know I sound like a broken down record about John Park, but majority of his judgements have been horrendous. It is unfair for Deila to shoulder the blame for these signings

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Sep 2015 23:10:50
DN30.

I firmly believe that RD with the tools he inherited and the new tools forced upon him ( in your summation) he has underperformed in my view

Now I agree that if a manager is given players and if that manager is forced to play said players then he cannot be responsible for the outcome 100% but he is responsible for molding a team ( even if he perceives them to be misfits ) motivating a team and coaching that team to play as a tight knit unit relative to the tactics laid down.

In my view there have been games were I have seen little evidence of an organised and motivated and disciplined team

This is my view only and I accept other opinions

I saw certain things that I liked last season and this season it has gone backwards. Players who had a spark are off colour. Players that have persistently underperformed are left on the park and others have been overlooked

We have come a little unstuck. I am not suggesting that we are in crisis or that all four wheels have come off the wagon but we are more rickety that I would otherwise like

RD needs to fiddle with the wheel nuts or the engine to get the caddy purring again. If he can't ( and the next month will tell us a fair bit) we need a new mechanic

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Sep 2015 14:14:41
Who actually said RD has @ Monday in transfers"? That's utter bolloks. He has no say in budgets and wages. That would be a ridiculous situation and as much as I disagree with PL in his, let's hope we qualify then we will crack a £20 strategy, this is just tosh.
