Sightings is a cracker! I'd love to see them go bang for good. If i never saw their supporters again it would be too soon. Different jobby same flies. They are a blight on Scottish society and Scotland and Scottish football would both be better off without their sectarian bile. There is nothing to enjoy about playing them. Even getting to hump them quarterly doesn't merit having them. Celtic doesn't need them and like their Lodges they're a total irrevance to me. One spoonful of jelly and two scoops of ice cream for me Winston!

When it comes to competing, Rangers are to Celtic, what I am to Usain Bolt.

With Celtic away enjoying mid winter sunshine and with the grim reaper making his way to Govan, I had time last weekend to watch Arsenal v Nottingham Forrest, I wasing expecting much but I was v pleasantly surprised by Forest who took the game Arsenal quickly with neat passing on and off the ball. Arsenal with a mixture of regulars, youths and players who obviously feel they are too good for the English game really struggled . I thought of how well the
"Loaf - man " had worked wit me with youngsters and the Nottingham Forest been the idiot he is sacked him . Of course the former England manager progedy was also sacked by Rangers Board that knows nothing about football, and thankfully they replaced Warburton by the Mexican who also knew nothing about football.

At the end of the day, I thought Thank God Celtic have a stable Board who have combined abilities and use them as well as they can to bring the club forward . Stability and no knee jerk reactions help a club to go forward.

You reckon we will see anymore fresh faces at Celtic Ed? 2 signings in January is good when you consider how difficult it can be to get deals done and is usually a relatively quiet window for most teams.

{Ed007's Note - Of course we'll see more new faces come in. When they get back from Dubai I expect we'll start to see the movement of players but it might be into the last week before we see any more coming in.}

To be honest, I am not over worried about who comes in or how many .
We have quite a decent group of youngsters like Ralston, Eboue, Millar Johnstone to name just a few . We can pay £5m and more for a player who may or may not be any better than these youngsters if they were given adequate game time .
For Celtic to be successful we have to develop our own and buy young with maybe the odd 30+ thrown in .
When M O'N came our turnover was competitive with teams near the top of the EPL, now we can compare ourselves with teams near the bottom of the Championship
It doesn't matter if the player is at end of contract or on a free if the transfer fee isn't out of our range, the wages and signing on bonuses are .

OMC I've said it a few times on here. I would love to one day watch a Celtic team made up completely of graduates of our academy.

Cheers Ed, who do you expect to move on permanently or go out on loan?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I expect Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Gamboa and Henderson to go and possibly Armstrong and de Vries. Gamboa and de Vries could be loans but apart from that it will probably be youngsters who will go out on loan.}

10 Jan 2018 14:50:29
Ed you think de Vries? He just extended his contract did he Not?
W.

{Ed007's Note - So has Armstrong and only the same years extension. It's felt Conor Hazard is more than capable of covering Gordon for the rest of the season, if de Vries can be moved on he will be. }

Can't see it ed or they wouldn't have gave him the contract. Think it's more likely the summer for any movement in the keeper department.

Ed is their anyone under hazard that could back him up if Gordon gets injured.

{Ed007's Note - Ross Doohan returned to the Club from Morton last week.}

10 Jan 2018 16:10:09
Celtic insisted on taking back Doohan from loan at St Mirren which might also show an interest in a young keeper.

I'd be sad to see Simunovic leave, on his day he's brilliant and if he can stay fit we'll see the best of him, hope he can.

Come on Larsson could have left years ago. i remember his first game and i think he made a dodgy pass back and wondered what have we bought here. eat my words many time after that :). Best, most consistent player i ever seen. Deserved a golden handshake at the end because he could have earned a fortune down south. but all opinions is the base of this page :)

Ed, with Cifti going on loan to Motherwell via Plymouth Argyll, would he be free to play against Celtic or are we still his home club?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We're still his parent club bud so he won' be eligible to play against us. His loan to Plymouth was cut short and technically (paperwork and contract wise) he returned to Celtic before going to Motherwell.}

The following is an exact copy of what appears on the website of a certain paper in Scotland. It is permanently at the top of the Celtic page. Here it is:

"FOUNDED in 1888 as a charitable venture in the East End of Glasgow, Celtic have grown to become one of the biggest clubs in Scotland"

The bit I don't understand is the 'one of' part of the comment as this would suggest there is more than one big club in Scotland and there is at least one bigger than Celtic which everyone knows is not true. To help point out why the above statement is incorrectly written here's one I just made up but is along a similar line:

"FOUNDED in 2012 as a comedy venture in the West End of Glasgow, The Rangers Sevco Scumbags have grown to become the biggest laughing stock in Scotland"

See what I mean? There's no confusion about any of it. It's clear, it's true and everyone knows exactly who it refers to. I think perhaps I should have a word with the above-mentioned paper and ask them to get their facts straight! lol HH.
