I am no fan of neil Cameron but he wrote a really good piece about our goalkeeper coach stevie woods. I knew he is really highly thought of in coaching circles but seems he is a proper gentleman and a really good person as well.
Just the exact type of people we want around our club.

Stevie Woods done a great job with Forster first time round when Paul Lambert who had him at Norwich on loan fron Newcastle, recommended this big raw lad who was rough round the edges. He was a master at keeping the ball out of the net no matter what.
Then Stevie also worked wonders with Craig Gordon who was injury prone for years and he was instrumental in bringing Gordon to paradise from under the noses of Sevco, who had done the donkey work for us by keeping Craig fit. Cheers.
Also from reports Stevie stayed loyal to Celtic after Brendan tried to take him to Leicester.
I still think that Bain will also continue to progress under the Celtic Goalkeeping coaches watch and that is probably why Bain signed a new contract extension recently.
Keep Up The Good Work Stevie. πŸ‘.

Showing my age but I used to watch him play for Clydebank back in the day. Done a decent job at Motherwell as well.

I remember Celtic scoring seven at fir park on a snowy evening I’m sure Woods was in goal and Larsson scored four or five.

You know what. im tired of hearing we only won because of "The Wall" But you know what? A team is made up of 11 players. We have won trophies before where 1 player has been truly outstanding the "Henrik" final is the one which always comes to mind. A truly great team is one which when some players aren't fully on their game for whatever reason others lift their game to compensate. El biffalo was off his game but as a team they had no-one to lift them that little bit extra. Its all ifs and buts. Truth be told it could have been 2 nil. El biff could have been sent off. History will show that the cup went to Celtic who as a team won when everything said they shouldnt. 9 out of 10 off their game, then down to 10 men then a penalty against them and facing a striker on form (everywhere but against the champions) Its the mark of true winners. Roll on the 29th HAIL HAIL, 2 to go till 10 in a row.

We could of won 5-0, had 99% possession all game, not commit a single foul and that mob would still try taint result.

El Bill really struggles against any decent defence.

The stats don't tell lies, one or two shots on goal, that is shocking, absolute terrible, completely honking, there is no excuse, only maybe three players played well, I didn't watch the whole game, but what I saw was a hectic, frenetic, junior cup final, lacking finesse, skill, subtlety, . First time I have seen wee Frinpong (spelling) , thought he was great, will be a star, Kent, looks like a total waste of money, Morelos will never reach the top until he realises that if someone touches you, it doesn't mean you fall down, it means you ignore the touch and try to score, .

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2019 16:12:30
We had a bad game but we win the cup so was it that bad. They can't beat us when we have a bad game says more about how bad they are.

I know there will be a travelling support to consider; but I hope we don't play most of the guys that won the final against Cluj?
Forrest, Cal-Mac, Ajer and Christie have all been involved in Internationals on top of our very busy schedule and obviously Eddy is still not 100%, while guys like Jullien took a bit of a kicking and need to fully recover.
I would go with something like:-

Gordon
Frimpong Bitton Bauer Taylor
Johnston Ntcham Rogic Morgan Sinclair
Griffiths.

What's story with Griffiths? I thought he would of made the squad on sunday.

Gordon
Bauer . Bitton Hendry Taylor
Ntcham Connell
Morgan. Rogic. Johnston
Griffiths.

10 Dec 2019 22:29:12
Griff would of made the squad if Eddy had been fully fit with Morgan missing out. In hindsight Morgan was a bad decision probably would of been better off throwing someone like Biton up there or SinkyπŸ€” Talking of Sinky heard the tealady went over her ankle the other day so he might make Thursdays squad.

Ed what's you take on the striker issue in the upcoming transfer window? January is is difficult window at the best of times to get decent business done. There's no doubt for me we need a striker in January and Lenny has said this is the main position he is looking at Strengthening. I think it's more likely we'll look to get a striker on loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I think there will definitely be a striker brought in during January, hopefully early on, but I think it'll be a permanent deal. We need to build for the future and be prepared if Edouard is going to move in the summer and a loan until the summer could end up leaving us very short for strikers.}

10 Dec 2019 21:44:51
Ed007 Do you think Edouard will definitely leave this summer or do you think we will get another season out of him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's too early to say but there will be bids to test Celtic's and Edouard's resolve.}

10 Dec 2019 16:56:30
Ed for the first time ever I had a look in the rangers rumours site I have to say I quickly got bored of reading their posts but one thing really stood out to me that sets our page apart from theirs and that thing is you I went through 2 pages on the rumours/ banter and Celtic posts and only once did I see their ed interact on the page so this just highlights the effort you have put into our page over the years and I for one are greatfull you decided to carry on this season and hope for many more thanks ed πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much mate, that's really nice of you to say. It's hard to believe this is my 10th season of doing this - I would say time flies when you're having fun but.... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
There isn't a TRIFC editor (I've not seen Ed039 log in for a long time) so it's really just Ed001 & Ed033 (both Liverpool supporters) that are unfortunate enough to have to deal with them yet still get abuse lol and accused of being Tims etc.
I don't even read their site as I find it best just to completely avoid them - now you've learnt that lesson as well - and I've never understood why Celtic fans post on there.}

After that display we have to splash the cash on fraser foster he loves celtic that's his club so get him on our books perm as won't get anybody as good as him we have enough cash to buy him elynoussa that would be a great buy too as he at home with celtic hopefully it will happen can't see sinclair staying after January which is strange as he is the squad I think he is quality and if got the chance would be back to his best strange one? Scores plenty.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

10 Dec 2019 20:35:30
I think it would be well out out wage structure but would love it to happen. Ed how much do you reckon Foster is on per week and how long has his current contract got to go? We could get some of the wage bill down with Gordon Sinclair and a few others leaving to free up some cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Forster's on Β£70k - 90k a week depending on which reports you believe, Pud and has 2 years left on his deal come the summer. For me it'll come down to what Forster wants to do, Southampton want him off the wagebill and if they are relegated there's possibly clauses to reduce players wages which are common.
Things should become a lot clearer in the coming months but I wouldn't write off the chance of Forster being at Celtic next year, maybe even another loan will suit all parties. I would be amazed if he starts next season a Southampton player regardless of what league they're in.}

10 Dec 2019 23:48:07
Unless Forster takes a massive drop in wages, there is no chance he will be at Celtic, after his loan deal ends, we would be much better looking out for a younger, talented, up and coming keeper, Forster kept a clean sheet on Sunday, but that was as much to do with how bad and inept, their forwards were, as how good he was, as for the penalty, a good save, and a terrible penalty kick,

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2019 01:24:42
Cheers EdπŸ‘.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If Southampton are relegated there is more than likely clauses in their top players' contracts that their wages reduce by at least 50% or they have preset release fees etc so any move back up here won't be as big a drop in wages as some people seem to think.}

10 Dec 2019 16:35:11

Cheers ED007 most of us have needed some help both financially and spiritually over the years, glad my family able to contribute to your charity. As you are aware I too have helped out in a local foodbank and currently volunteer in a credit union, which is helping so many poorer families have a decent Christmas.
I believe in Karma both good and bad if you are able to help people you help and enrich your own life.
Give yourself a big pat on the back for all the money you have raised in past few years to help your own community.
Sorry for the sickly sweet post I have taken too much sugar, be back to my grumpy, cynical self tomorrow lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Good stuff from you, Timbo and well done on you're voluntary work so give yourself a pat on the back - we won't tell Mrs T you just do it to get peace from him lol. I know from the women at our foodbank how hard it can be working there and how they struggle to help everyone that needs it.
Hopefully come Friday morning we're waking up to the prospect of a better UK and if not and the Tories do win we'll at least have the prospect of the UK breaking up and a united Ireland under HIM (spit).}

10 Dec 2019 10:49:58
From where I was sitting at Hampden I couldn't tell who scored the goal and I didn't really care, but wouldn't it have been ironic if Edouard had poked it in after just coming on, especially after Morelos fluffed his lines on his big audition.

@gerryc
Elbuffello failed there whole team failed I don't care if they controlled the first 60 mins. They failed, FAILED to score against ten men our injuries as well few players where just coming back you could see they where not up to speed. we had no natural centre forward so we had nothing to start attacking and no outball either so that ment there defence could be solid. Then on comes the Frenchman then 2 mins later we scored now imagine if eddy was even fit. There defence had nothing to as we had no one to pass to.
I was a bit pissed Mikey J missed that sitter he strives to be a world beater then he needs to score the important goals. He's young but I was thinking when him and eddy are on they work gd together. We shout out for frimpong he gets it and seems to know what it means. He had Kent in his pocket and forced Kent to come off the wings and play more central but he is another one who failed.

10 Dec 2019 12:13:26
Broony check my past posts about guys like him and fitness.
they are few and far between he's looked after himself and Iv debated with many on here who are so old school they always say his age his legs will go blah blah. There are no signs of this happening. He's the fittest in the team fellow players tell us this in interview He's also looking after himself better getting best advice etc.
. The main reason he wil slow down is if he want to slow down eventually age will come into it it's injuries that slow us down
Broony has not ruined his body in his teens or his late 20s so ageing will be slow as long as he keeps working out and hitting muscles hard
Most of us ruin this great machine of a body at those ages and give up then we age. Also point to remember when was last time broony missed a game that's what you watch for he's played every game first name on the sheet and a leader. I'm done slobbering over broony he's still a crab tho. 🀣🀣.

I agree, I have been an advocate of LG since we bought him, not everybody was happy with Lenny’s decision to bring him in and he suffered as a concquence of that. He I believehe has worked so hard to establish himself in the team, and to overcome all the personal insults made on his personal life. I think he has a big part to play on the way to the 10.Lenny says he will be involved on Thurs Night and I heard that he was Gutted at not being part of the cup final squad, he will be stronger for that. He has a fighting spirit and a good contract that should keep him with us.
