Paddy Roberts situation taken a new twist? I just wonder if city losing will have any impact on where he will end up?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

10 Apr 2018 23:32:43
I'm sure come the summer he will be in his last year at city so his price won't be as steep and a permanent deal hopefully will be completed.

Paddy will be more worried about getting his form back and attaining or even improving on the form of last season .

Some interesting team selection for sunday and a lot of good players will be on bench but surely rodgers will go 4-2-3-1 and I'm hoping simonovic starts along with griffiths. A poll would be great to see who is the midfield players with brown, ntcham, rogic and armstrong all playing well and very few folk have went for sinclair in starting 11 which 1 year ago would have been unheard of. Enjoy the game bhoys and HH for a double treble.

Surely Brendan won't take a chance on a player who isn't playing regularly and will instead go with who he and I consider his best centre half Boyata to partner Ajer . These two play well together.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Apr 2018 00:52:11
simonovic has only missed a few weeks due to suspension, he is our best centre half and id play him every day over ajer.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2018 00:54:44
Brendan has never indicated that boyata is his best centre half, our best central defence is simonovic alongside boyata and brendan has often said a fit jozo is his first pick in there.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2018 13:55:48
They are all average, with bombscare tendencies thrown in. We need a new defence and it’s time to ship out the dead wood.

The huns only chance is how pish our defence is. That’s our main problem. Whoever plays from the group we have still won’t have us breathing easy. Some look like prospects some like defects.

I’m hoping our mid to front do enough damage to mitigate against the balls ups defensively you can stick the kettle on for.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2018 20:38:35
Agree magic pole, only Ajer and Tierney are worth keeping.

New defenders is a must for me and for any progress in Europe

Jozo imo only really looks poor when that diddy Boyata is playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Apr 2018 22:45:19
Tysonmike1 Just wondering how Jozo is B R top centre half . 5 games ago he was unlucky to be sent off and served two match suspension. He didn't feature in either of the next two games either . I thought if he was high in Brendan's plans he would have played some part last weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 15:41:16
My team for the weekend:

Bain

Hendry Ajer Jozo

Forrest Armstrong Brown Tierney

Roberts Rogic

Griffiths (But will be Dembele) .

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Apr 2018 16:30:52
Hendry is cup tied.

10 Apr 2018 16:39:20
Bian

Hendry ajer boyata

Brown nitcham

Forrest Armstrong Tierney

Rogic

Dembele

It's our defence that I can't settle on, but midfield going forward that team would destroy them.
Hampden big park. needs plenty of pace and energy.
McGregor, Roberts, Griffiths, plenty of options.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 17:40:33
My team would be:-

Bain
Lustig Simunovic Ajer Tierney
Roberts Brown Armstrong Rogic Sinclair
Griffiths
However, I have a feeling BR will play:-

Gordon
Lustig Boyata Ajer Tierney
Forrest Brown Rogic Armstrong Sinclair
Dembele.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 20:09:55
Don't think Gordon will play OAB.

Bain

Simunovic Ajer Tierney

McGregor Brown Ntcham Armstrong

Forrest Roberts

Griffiths

Wouldn’t mind seeing this.

10 Apr 2018 20:40:55
People on here giving a team selection with hendry in it, is he not cup tied? even if he could play id have him nowhere near this game. Jozo is our best centre half imo and surely it will be a back 4 but some people wanting ntcham, rogic and armstrong in same team? If rodgers goes brown and ntcham then either armstrong or rogic would play the number 10 position but that means 1 of them miss out surely. My team would be gordon, lustig, simonovic, boyata, tierney, brown, armstrong, rogic, mcgregor, forrest and griffiths.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 20:46:50
Kev t i don't see roberts and forrest both starting and surely rogic has to be in there?

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Apr 2018 20:47:37
Great shout Kev.

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Apr 2018 22:48:13
Whatever team starts is OK as long as it doesn't include Boyata. We will hardly get away with it again with him in defence. Like to see Bain in goal too. Like your team Kev.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Apr 2018 00:00:14
I think we will be ok on Sunday because Brendan relies solely on who he thinks will do the best job for him . I am not going to be presumptuous enough to pick the whole team but I would certainly go for Ajer and Boyata as his centre defence partnership .

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Apr 2018 00:58:53
simonovic and boyata every day of week and why are so many people liking kevs team with both forrest and roberts as no way they are both going to start so that's totally pointless.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Apr 2018 11:28:14
Tyson ajer has been our most consistent CB since he made the team. Ye he made a mistake at weekend but they are few and far between fae him. Can't say same about they other 2 bomb scares.

Sky saying fixtures to be announced later in week, why the hold up cannot be that hard to work out.

If rumours circulating are true that Celtic will be AWAY first after the split, I hope our board will lodge a formal complaint (at the lodge).
With 3 home games and only 2 away Celtic's first game after the split should be at home.
I remember Radio Scotland doing a full hour programme on the "random" generated fixtures and how "no outside interference" was allowed.
HMMM we will see how "random" our fixtures are shortly.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

10 Apr 2018 10:59:21
Never swallowed that random selection nonsense.

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Apr 2018 11:13:17
I said at the weekend I could see us getting an away game.

Agree1 Disagree5

10 Apr 2018 11:15:28
The fixtures have been pockled as far back as I remember, making Celtic and the, then Rangers never playing at home on the same day;
so there is absolutely nothing random about it, as it is manipulated for apparent 'public safety', therefore there is outside interference and don't get me started on the 'hot-ball' cup draws ha ha.
The establishment have always ran a crooked house and we all know it.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 11:27:15
This nonsense gets worse by the day. How are fans supposed to make travel plans when they don't know either who the games are against or whether a match is at home or away.
They should just announce a set of fixtures and be done with it. You can't guarantee results in football, we could win the league against Sevco whenever it's played. If they made the Sevco match the third game in and we drop points in the first 2 matches what do they do then? .

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 11:55:55
What if Celtic fielded a weakened side's and lost the game or games up until they played sevco. Like to see what the twats at the SFA would do then,
They don't need to wait till the split to arrange the fixtures, they already know the amount of teams in the split, and they already know the fixtures up to the split. Hello McFly.

It's the top teams who would lose gate money if there was no split, personally i would scrap it, and sack the guy who suggested it.
Is it Sunday yet?

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 12:25:53
Guys if you remember all this "fixture chaos" was caused at the START of this season, when the "random, impartial computer" gave Sevco 4 HOME GAMES against the top teams, this was meant to give the sevvies a nice chance of a winning start, alas the team from Govan blew it, now they are bending over backwards to help sevco AGAIN.

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Apr 2018 17:49:29
Also noticed this season if we played a team mid week, sevco played them on the saturday.
Just another coincidence. Do you think they type in, Computer give us next years fixtures, giving Sevco best possible chance of picking up extra points, and maximum gate receipts.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 19:43:58
That's a good point I never checked, but I have noticed the tricky away games for us following CL/ EL games for the past few seasons and reckon the guy that programs that computer should work for NASA.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2018 08:14:08
if its "random" why wait until just before the split to decide who plays who?
Each team will finish in consecutive order (1,2,3 etc. )
At beginning of the season they announce which numbers will play each other after the split. No names, no bias, no manipulation NO CHEATING!
OOPS, Apologies Bhoys and Ghirls. I was being sensible and fair minded for a moment. Temporary sanity moment and forgetting that we are dealing with SFA SPFL etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 09:55:41
Not really Celtic related but looking forward to the City Liverpool match tonight. Interesting to us regarding the CL though. Could we ever live with these teams? Given the tonkings we have had lately should we be happy with groups then build a name and squad through the Europa, assuming we get third?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Apr 2018 10:37:59
At the moment we should be looking to consolidate ourselves in the group stages and 3rd place.
Build over the next few years and have a run at the Europa trophy. But that will be a very tough ask as well with some of the teams that play in that tourement.

Agree1 Disagree5

10 Apr 2018 12:27:27
@GJ and Kev remember last season when we more than matched Citeh over both CL games home and away, we need to sustain that on a more regular basis.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 15:41:57
Ye Tim but I also remember coming bottom of that group.
I also remember running the Germans very very close at parkhead this and being unlucky not to take anything from the game. We also beat Anderlecht away from home and then zenit at home in Europa.
Keep building. Keep getting the young players experience then have a proper got at Europa.

I remember getting to the last 16 and lost out in extra time to a Kaka goal. That 11 had Jarosik, Sno, Naylor, O'dea and Telfer in it up against Kaka;Maldini (wee should have had a penalty in the first few minutes) Inzaghi, Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini. If you put in hard graft togetherness& determination anything can happen over a few games. Another downer after the game was that all buses and trains had stopped for the night due to the extra time. The downer turned to joy being amongst and eatchinv watching thousands of us all trying to get taxis hitch lifts with locals and ac milan fans. A greart night with not one bit of trouble which was predicted due to their ultras rioting in previous games and
they where threatened with parts of the stadium being closed off for the game.

Review Of The Day 10th April 2018

Here are the fixtures we should get after the split, based on how many home (16) and away (17) fixtures we have had so far and against each team in the top 6.

Celtic v Aberdeen
Celtic v rangers
Celtic v killie

Hibs v Celtic
Hearts v Celtic

I predict we will either get hibs or hearts after the split as the powers that be won't want us winning league at home. I also predict that we will play rangers either in the 3rd or 4th but more likely to be 3rd as this will minimise our chance of winning the league against them. I predict our last game of season will be against killie as we will likely pump them on trophy award day.

So here is the likely scenario:

Hibs v Celtic
Celtic v Aberdeen
Celtic v rangers
Hearts v Celtic
Celtic v killie.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Apr 2018 07:08:10
Pump killie? They are probably the most on form team in the league.

Agree1 Disagree5

10 Apr 2018 12:57:38
We can pump anyone in the league if we play at our full capacity. Add to that the fact that it is party time that day, then yes I think the players will put on a show and pump them. Also remember that they will have nothing to play for and will be on the beach, so to speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2018 17:05:09
With all players returning from injury hopefully we up a few gears and hit top form for the run in pumping every team.
