Has anyone heard any names regarding potential signings coming in? And what positions Brendan is looking at strengthening?

Rodgers did say Celtic are trying to bring player in earlier rather than later so I'd imagine a couple of players coming in early within the transfer window. I'd imagine Onyekuru is on the radar still as he won't be able to move to a Prem Team due to work permit (i think) . A Right Back and Right winger will be two positions id imagine we will strengthen, and i heard a few rumours about Manoljovic being scouted earlier in the season. Hopefully we hear something soon. HH.

Rodgers has stated an number 8 is his main priority. a center half and third striking option as well. a right winger as would be required if roberts goes. we have 3 right backs at the moment Kenlike and Onyekuru would have the same chances as getting a work permeate up here as down in the EPL.

Onyekuru is maybe not coming, I had a couple of pints with a current epl players father on Sunday who told me that Onekuru is in constant touch with Kevin Miralles at Everton, and that he will be signing for them for 4million with à one million tax free signing on fee or him. James mc Carthy is still on the radar, he has no future at Everton and has told them he will not go to clubs like stoke, Bournemouth, etc, etc, and to sort out something better, he also told me that maybe we will sign a young right winger from Liverpool on loan, english 20 yr old. Just a chat over a couple of pints but you never know.

Dominic Solanke's name has popped up again today as well. Apparently Liverpool who were front runners to sign him are now looking elsewhere. English clubs would have to pay £8 mill where as we could get him for as little as £400 grand. Considering the boy can play striker (his favoured position) , both flanks OR even CAM I think would be a great acquisition and you only need to look what has been done with players like Dembele and Sinclair to show of the potential of signing for the Hoops.
{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with cost of transfer. It is his personal demands that are the issue. He has been asking for an amount that would make him Celtics highest paid player by a mile. And I do mean a mile. Unless he reduces his demands Celtic will not touch him.}

If Chelski are baulking at Solanke's wage demands then we know we're up against it lol. It's a shame because he would tick all the boxes otherwise in terms of what we're after up top.

Did he not come out and dispute the fact he was looking for 50 grand a week ED?
I know that him disputing it does not definitely mean that is indeed the case, but should mean wages would be less!?

He's clearly dillusional. He must think he can just demand a wage like 50k a week and grab it. He mustn't care about his football to much if he's holding out for a wage packet rather than opportunity. Sounds like a spoilt brat to me.

First time I've done one through the EPL site. I can't settle on a side. Quick tip needed please. What's the crack with player valuations based on popularity? For example I want De Bruyne. However I'd imagine a lot of people do. If I left him out until the second week, would he be cheaper? If so, by much?

Player values increase throughout the season. They will not change until after the match day, but as players are transferred in and out, the prices increase and drop depending on how popular they become. By the time the season ends some player's values will have increased by £1m +
The science behind player values are not revealed, but look on a Tuesday after a weekend match day to see how things roll.

JT - De Bruyne would be a great pick in my opinion. Pep likes to tinker with his team but De Bruyne pulls most of the strings.

Thanks WC. I think City will be incredible in the opponent's half this season, and De Bruyne is a huge part of that. Trying to squeeze Jesus in too but I think it leaves my defence too weak.

I don't usually orry about having top notch defenders. The points are in assists and goals and let's face it, the quality of defending in the EPL is not great, so I think it is a gamble spending a lot on a defence. Not convinced Spurs and Chelsea will keep as many clean sheets this year either.

UEFA haven't helped, I get frustrated that the Champions League is still called the "Champions League" the Champions league should be for the Champions of each European Country, I find it disrespectful that ourselves and other Euro countries Champions have to play qualifiers to gain access to the completion. Suppose that that competition format doesn't make as much money than the one they use now.
