Reading that West ham have lodged 20m bid for dembele, any truth in this ed? I know Rodgers said he wouldn't sell but would it be taken out of his hands.

Robbhoy

{Ed007's Note - West Ham have not bid for Dembele , it's simply made up nonsense that originated from an opinion piece in the WHU official site.

1.) 05 Jan 2017 23:06:36
we need a right back lustig been great but is easly exposed especialy in europe but what a change with br in charge.

2.) 05 Jan 2017 23:17:53
Lubo give gamboa a run of games.

3.) 06 Jan 2017 16:14:46
There has been no "official bid" from West Ham, according to Celtic but note the use of the word "official". West Ham inquired about Dembele, hence the recent press reporting. It's no secret that Dembele wants to leave Celtic for the Premier League, the issue is one of timing and cost.

Players decide transfers nowadays, certainly not the manager. You can expect Rodgers to say something on the lines of "Dembele isn't the finished article, needs more time at Celtic to develop" blah blah but in reality, if Dembele wants to leave, the club will sell.

Apparently, West Ham discussed a £20 million bid. £2 million now and £13 million over 5 years and the rest in the clauses. That's a pretty typical construct but Celtic want £30 million but again, with a similar structure.

I would expect Dembele to leave in the summer though. I think his agent would suggest that Dembele can find a bigger club than West Ham

{Ed007's Note - There is nothing even remotely true in that whole post - it's all bollocks and just stuff you've made up.}

4.) 06 Jan 2017 16:48:43
Did he not have offers from the EPL before he came to us? The lad has said himself he wants to stay here several years, win things, develop. We should at least give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

5.) 06 Jan 2017 18:18:57
Chris Davies on stv news saying the moose is going nowhere.

6.) 06 Jan 2017 19:01:11
steph did you see the moose loose aboot the big hoose? baaaaaannnngggg lol.

7.) 06 Jan 2017 22:28:15
Ed007 thanks for an uneducated reply. Instead of whining, why not point out what you think is erroneous. Please don't start by saying transfers are not constructed the way I explain because you would just be plain wrong and you would look foolish.

Next: look at all the evidence. Someone had made an enquiry for Dembele and WHFC look like credible contenders.

Provide some thought behind your dismissive approach

{Ed007's Note - West Ham did not bid for Dembele, that's all I need to know and I didn't whine, I said you were talking bollocks.
'£2 million now and £13 million over 5 years and the rest in the clauses' - that's just garbage that you've made up to try and make it look like you know what you're talking about which you obviously don't. If I can help it I won't have the posters on here taken in by dubious stories from the press or other posters.}

Just reading on newsroom celtic, Desmond wants Keane in charge and that's his first choice.

Robbhoy

1.) 30 Apr 2016 22:04:06
Read that earlier tae.
Hope it's not true.

2.) 30 Apr 2016 22:28:05
What does Desmond know about football, Keane has an atrocious record as a manager, we need a manager who has a proven European track record none of the names mentioned so far hardly excite me.

3.) 30 Apr 2016 23:12:38
What about paul hartley as our new manager, seems to be overlooked, amazing achievement with alloa who were a part-time club and then assembling a new dundee team to a top six spot.

4.) 01 May 2016 00:24:55
I think it's important we get a big name manager as much as I liked the idea of a young progressive manager with enthusiasm it unfortunately didn't work for whatever the reason's. a well known manager that bigger name player's might be more willing to work with and in turn help get players to sign for us who otherwise would go elsewhere is the way to go I would love to get Hiddink but looks like we may have to settle for Keane.

5.) 01 May 2016 07:33:29
Every fan of our great club should make our feelings known if Keane is appointed. We as celtic fans should never settle for second best.

6.) 01 May 2016 07:55:13
Morten Weighorst.

7.) 01 May 2016 11:29:28
Not a rumour for latest but was told Celtic were keeping an eye on Morten before we appointed Ronny.

8.) 01 May 2016 11:52:34
would love us to get a proven high profile manager but a really think it'll be the cheap option with either Lennon, big malky or Paul lambert. they 3 will say yes to PL and never demand much as they'll just be happy enough to have the job.

9.) 01 May 2016 12:42:09
Don't think lambert will be a yes man.
He just walked out on Blackburn because they wouldn't back him.

10.) 01 May 2016 13:32:41
Point I was making is that they 3 would be so happy to get the Celtic job they'll not make as much demands as a so called big named manager. at the minute none of them would even get an interview for a half decent club down south.

11.) 01 May 2016 14:11:26
Roberto De Matteo for me would be a good choice but just a wish.

12.) 01 May 2016 15:04:04
Tony2bhoy can I ask why?
Yes he won the champions league with Chelsea but that wasn't his team really.
His next two jobs ain't been great.
Has he even managed 4 years as a manager?

13.) 01 May 2016 16:05:40
Yeah he also managed Schalke 04 but resigned in March 2015 I just think he would do us a good turn.

14.) 01 May 2016 17:01:29
Ye after less than a year at the club.

15.) 01 May 2016 17:11:27
Totally agree Kev. I don't get the RDM thing at all. I'd have Hartley before him.

16.) 01 May 2016 17:16:20
Wouldno have hartley either.

17.) 01 May 2016 17:16:28
Wouldnt

18.) 01 May 2016 17:47:15
Me neither - I'm just using him for scale ;)

19.) 01 May 2016 17:56:15
Kev83 Realistically who would you like to see as new manager?

20.) 01 May 2016 18:33:43
Hartley haha he's done well in management so far but have we dropped that low that he's the best we could get cause if it is we'd be as well giving up the now . We need someone that's no just going to be glad to get the job and do what he's told.

21.) 01 May 2016 19:21:10
Tony2 I am not the surest who I WANT but I wouldn't be unhappy with
Rogers
Moyes
Martinez because the way he tries and likes to play attacking football
Wee bit uninspiring but not bad managers would be mcarthy or lambert.
I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of them.
My dream manager would be mourinho tho.

22.) 01 May 2016 20:18:57
Strachan.

23.) 01 May 2016 21:26:17
If you'd have read it properly Will. I. am you'd have seen Hartley wasn't actually a genuine suggestion.

But in the interest of debate, who do you suggest/ realistically want?

24.) 01 May 2016 21:49:02
DesH I am a massive fan of Strachan but not a fan of bringing someone back.
Would make a great director of football though.

25.) 02 May 2016 09:43:01
That was not a dig at you just a few of my mates seem to want hartley and I don't think he's what we need at this time. I think we should be sounding out moyes, rodgers etc but I think we'll end up in the mackay, keane, stubbs and hartley bracket . I'd take moyes out the first bracket and mackay out the next.

26.) 02 May 2016 21:29:03
Fair play Will. I think whoever of Karanka and Hughton don't go straight up would be a decent shout.

27.) 02 May 2016 23:13:55
The football played under Strachan was awful too many 90th minute winners saved us, the players we signed was awful too. His style was successful but it wasn't attacking people are moaning about RD and the 4-3-2-1 that's what Strachan will play too.

28.) 02 May 2016 23:16:22
Hartley would be an improvement.

29.) 03 May 2016 05:24:26
Anyone would be an improvement on RD!

30.) 03 May 2016 10:50:37
Iain69 don't let board hear that or we will end up with Collins

Reading online celtic are looking at ali al habsi from wigan

Robbhoy

1.) 12 Aug 2014 16:46:18
What I witnessed at Murrayfield I think I would prefer ALI BABA. We are scraping about in the bargain basement while our wealth gathers dust. Are we so lacking in ambition? We might as well scrap our youth policy since we are raiding others for their nearly wussers. Just watch the diminishing attendances this season. I dread the next European embarrasment.

2.) Celtic on the the verge of buying a new goalkeeper.

3.) He used to be a good keeper, but now 2nd choice at wigan, agree its disappointing how low were willing to go to scrape for players, I never thought we'd ever bring in other clubs youth team players to play first team football. That to me is shocking surely we can attract better

4.) What do you expect, we sign Forster on loan when he was 3rd choice goalkeeper at Wigan . With millions and millions TV and other money going into our nearest neighbours pockets every year it makes our transfer war chest look ver small indeed

Have heard from a friend who played with hooper in a charity match last night. That Hooper has told lennon he definatly wants to leave in the summer and lennon has accepted it. He thinks possibly west ham is a option.

Robbhoy

Robbhoy

1.) Why am I somehow struggling to believe you? Maybe the fact that Hooper would not have been discussing his future with one of your friends!

2.) He is also on holiday so unless he can teleport then u are talking mince

The famous TIM

3.) Sorry but no way Hooper would be playing in a charity match

4.) My friend was in a charity match with Gareth Bale last week and he said he was pure choking to join Celtic! Daviebhoy77

5.) I don't think hooper would be allowed to play in a charity match at this stage of the season. We are looking for decent money and what if he got injured total bulls**t.

6.) Why would Hooper be playing in a charity match after being given a week off to rest up for cup final?. DH

7.) Before you start slating me please check your facts, hooper played in a charity match for mitchell cole last night, the match feature a number of west ham players and some old pros, my friend is a old player that used to play with hoops at grays. So do yoy not think any player discusses there future with friends? Of course they do!

8.) Would not be aloud to play in a charity match

9.) Please type it into google, mitchell cole 11 vs stevenage 11 raising money for his family and charity after the player died of a heart condition, perhaps looking it up before coming on here saying i'm talking crap would be a good idea.

10.) The OP was correct, Gary Hooper was playing in the Mitchell Cole benefit match, I think a few apologies are in order from some of the posters slating the guy.

As far as Gary Hooper leaving, if the truth be told he should have probably left in January, the last 6 months will probably cost us in the region of 3 to 4 million, on terms of what we will get for him now, with only 1 year left on his contract.

EOJBHOY

11.) Hooper did take part in the charity match 4 mitchell cole thy r gud friends and and both played 2gethr at Southend an grays

12.) Met Hoopers old man and agent in Turin, they said he was Happy at Celtic but the ball was in Celtic's court, they also said he's a big Spurs fan and would love to play there but is he good enough?

Question for ed or anyone who knows, if big virgil went to man city, for silly money like we all know the epl pays what kind of percent would we get if it was say 30 or 40 million?
Also if it was enough do you think we could waive the fee or add abit to keep paddy Roberts permanent.
Don't post so much but always read and a great site with some brilliant posts/ banter. Keep up the good work.

Robbhoy

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate. We have a sell on clause of 10% on any profit Southampton make, Rob so if van Dijk goes for £40 million that's £27 profit so we'd get £2.7 million. It has nothing to do with City, that money comes from Southampton.}

1.) 04 Dec 2016 13:48:36
There is reports of a 25 million clause in his contract?

01 Sep 2016 17:32:02
When is the deadline for champions league squads? Also does anyone think there's anyone on the free agent list worth going after.

Robbhoy

1.) 01 Sep 2016 18:23:31
Not really flamini is available but I don't want him anywhere near CP.

2.) 01 Sep 2016 18:35:29
Flamini.

3.) 01 Sep 2016 19:07:58
Why. He is likes a tackle and passes well.

12 Jul 2016 20:58:16
I don't post too often but that was a disgraceful performance, can we now stop talking about the other side until our own side is actually playing some sort of football that we can be proud off, granted pitch was shocking but shorley we knew about that and should of done practice or a friendly on the same type of pitch. Also I liked ambrose and thought maybe he could come good but that has to be him gone. Amongst a few who are taking it for granted there playing for a big club. Rant over!

Robbhoy

12 May 2016 15:40:24
Just thinking outside the box from the usual Linked managers, what about avb would we be able to attract him wants a fresh challenge.

Robbhoy

1.) 12 May 2016 15:59:49
I like that idea although admittedly I have no clue what he has been doing since his Chelsea days . Think they pulled the trigger too early with him it like Rangers an le guen . Although the similarities of him / Ronny being the big job came too soon? Is he out of work? Cost? Wage expected?

2.) 12 May 2016 16:05:06
I mentioned him few weeks ago.
Has picked himself back up after his tough spell in England and done well in Russia
He is out of contract in the summer but is talking about taking a year off.

3.) 12 May 2016 16:41:49
Great shout but I think and hope we have already sorted out who is stepping in as new manager.

4.) 12 May 2016 16:51:15
He isn't celtic minded or irish . so no chance.

5.) 12 May 2016 17:56:19
The only way it should be DRB
Lol
Hail Hail king Lenny.

6.) 12 May 2016 19:04:11
Not one of my requirements

7.) 12 May 2016 20:50:23
Am with you kev, Irish or Celtic minded doesn't cut it anymore . Would we turn down kllopp, pep or mourinho for these reasons? Think not . All I want is a manager who can get the best out the squad, have some tactical nouse and make sure we 1st qualify / then aren't embarrassed in Europe.

8.) 13 May 2016 01:24:39
Agreed. Being 'Celtic minded' has nothing at all to do with the job. Being capable is the quality, sadly that's what the current incumbent was missing!

22 Oct 2015 13:09:17
Hi ed, i see we signed cole any idea roughly on what wage he would be getting?

Robbhoy

{Ed007's Note - Not yet.}

1.) 22 Oct 2015 13:36:46
Would rather have went back in for the Danish kid in jan. Sad truth is if we're still in Europe next year Cole would probably do a job for us.

2.) 22 Oct 2015 20:36:07
Jim Tim we won't be in Europe after Christmas.

That seems abit straight forward to me the celtic way is to put a really low bid in then see him disappear to the english leagues for a little bit more.

We couldn't afford wages for someone like that, I see we where paying vvd £9000 a week, now he's on £45000. Ed would you say there's enough money for higher wages for a couple of good signings? Especially if there was no transfer fee?

Robbhoy

{Ed007's Note - There isn't the money to pay that kind of wages unless it was a one off superstar who was going to make us a hell of a lot of budo commercially but there should be money to offer players higher wages like we did with Ledley and Matthews, we offered them top dollar and they came but there was no room in the wage structure to offer them a rise if they signed new deals so they were moved on for over £5 million between them (£3m for Ledley and £2.2(?) for Matthews).
I keep banging on about but in 2013 the average wage in the EPL was £31k a week if we couldn't match that at the time for 2/3 quality players then it's scandalous. Better players to watch brings in the crowds, improves the team and would help us improve in the European arena. Other club's build themselves up, speculating to accumulate while we're scraping around for the next 'project' and pi$$ing of clubs, players and agents for messing them about.
How many players and agents have came out and said they had held positive talks they thought they had a deal in place with CFC only to not hear from us again, there was an unresolvable issue etc, it's excuse after excuse from Lawwell.}

I think loan signings are good, too many players come to the spl and must be thinking there going to walk it, but I think there actually suprised by the physical side of it, certain players suit certain leagues even some players go to the epl can't make it go abroad and flourish its about finding the right player so without having money to burn loans look the best option, never used to be a fan but we could of wasted some money on the current loans by signing instead.

If they were to offer commons 2 years would he stay?? I think so, so he wants to be here, vvd has played very well for us yes he's looking at options but he's given us the service, gudetti is here 5 mins talked the talk that made us believe he wanted to be here, now he's pulled out to keep his options open so no I don't think a player that's not here that long that pulls out of talks should play. don't get me wrong ed I like and rate him and would love for him to sign but pulling out of talks just takes the gloss of it
