Scottish media have rodgers going to Newcastle or Leicester now didn't they hear him when he said he wants to leave a legacy.

1.) 21 Oct 2018 16:16:26
They even linked him with the Dundee job 😂😂.

2.) 22 Oct 2018 17:24:21
Why would he want to go to pub teams, apart from cash which in three years time he can command top money with big clubs. Newcastle have a fan base 0f 50 thousand, there are more celtic supporters I santa ponsa on gemme day.

3.) 22 Oct 2018 22:51:55
My Nephnews boys team are looking for a new coach soon, I'm expecting to see Rodgers linked to it any day now in the record.

We badly need to sort out our away performances. In too many games the opposition are pressing us high up the pitch and denying us time or space on the ball.

We surely know what's coming in these games, we have to find a way to counter it.
It just seemed one of those games where Rodgers got it wrong. I think he should have left McGregor in the midfield and took a chance on getting away with Hayes or Izzy at left back, at least it would have meant weakening only one position.

On the plus side though, we are top of the league with a game in hand, when December started I would have taken that considering our fixture list. Hopefully with a three week break the players will get a good rest and rediscover their form.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 21:37:14
I really think it’s more than that-I believe fresh investment in approx 3 first ten players are needed, no more projects, Lawwell has been asleep at the wheel for long enough.

{Ed007's Note - So Brendan Rodgers & Lee Congerton didn't make any mistakes last summer? It was't Lawwell's fault that Piccini didn't sign, it wasn't Lawwell's fault that Dembele turned into a moaning faced liar and stabbed Rodgers in the back on the last day of the window and it wasn't Lawwell that DEMANDED we sign Compper and Musonda a year ago....
The only thing Lawwell has messed up recently was the McGinn signing, he's backed the manager even when it's left him chasing ghosts like Piccini and Castagne will likely go the same way.
I give him dog's abuse but Lawwell has done a fantastic job for us on the commercial side BUT it's when he meddles in football matters he falls down (McGinn?) and has done for years but to say he has been asleep at the wheel is just preposterous.}

3.) 29 Dec 2018 22:13:55
Didn’t think we would see any reply’s from you tonight Ed a know how you like to let the dust settle. There’s been the usual over reacting posts but it’s understandable I forgot how much a despise that lot and the feeling of loosing to them.

{Ed007's Note - And that's it, the dust settled for me after Mass tonight lol All it was a loss to THEM and that brings all the knee-jerk reactions BUT we're still top of the league with a game in hand. After the winter break we'll come back with a refreshed squad with Rogic back and the likes of KT hopefully fit along with some new signings to bolster the squad. Losing Dembele was huge but losing LG had proven to be a bigger problem with us needing to rely on Eddy, and we need a better back-up LB than Izaguirre.
I expect the team we see starting next season to be unrecognisable to the one we've watched the past 18 months.
Would you rather be in our position of top of the league with a game in hand than theirs? That is the question .......

4.) 29 Dec 2018 22:23:26
“When he meddles in the football side he falls down”, see, it’s the football side I’m taking about Ed, I also agree that the manager and Congerton (who’s been a disaster) have a lot to answer for, but the last two transfer windows have been a shambles, and Lawwell has to take a big share of the blame, the lights are good, the Celtic way looks nice, but failure in the recent windows regarding freshening the squad up is down to him aswell. do you think there will be any first team arrivals in January? .

{Ed007's Note - Yes I do think there will be first team arrivals in January. So what failure in recent windows do you lay the blame at Lawwell's door - Compper, Musonda, Gamboa, Benyu, Kouassi, Hendry?
Lawwell messed up with McGinn, he's admitted that and apologised to Rodgers but Rodgers has admitted his own disasters with Piccini who was never coming to Glasgow but Rodgers had Lawwell hassling his agent knowing the player wasn't coming.
Did Rodgers think we should have just threw enough money at Piccini to get him to sign?}

5.) 29 Dec 2018 22:58:45
Ed your wasting your time. Doesn't matter what you say the board will never get credit when things are going well and it will always be their fault if it doesn't.

I laugh because few seasons ago fans wanted to lynch John parks but now all we hear is about how good the signings were in his time.

{Ed007's Note - But there were a lot more misses than hits with Park as well, for every Wanyama and van Dijk there was a Pukki and Balde etc etc etc

6.) 29 Dec 2018 23:36:13
Ad say there were more hits than misses with him ed. He was there nearly ten years mind.

7.) 29 Dec 2018 23:41:40
Pukki? The man can't stop scoring at Norwich these days🤣🤣 Bet he ends up going to a team in the pub league for a zillion quid😂.

8.) 29 Dec 2018 23:21:37
Just putting it out there my post no knee jerk lol I can see the forest though the tree's.

9.) 30 Dec 2018 08:48:05
Ed 007

I'm at a lost with your post. You verbally attacked me at the start of the season when I said Lee Congerton wasn't doing his job properly. You put the blame at Lawell door.

Not looking to argue with anyone. I've always maintained or transfer dealings have been poor Under Rodgers/ Congerton.

{Ed007's Note - I've never blamed anyone but Lawwell for the failure to sign McGinn. Congerton has produced lists of potential signings (that's his job btw) for Rodgers to decide on who he wants, if the manager then asks Lawwell to pursue players that have no intention of joining us it's hardly Congerton or Lawwell's fault is it?
The failure to sign the manager's top target in the summer - McGinn - isn't Congerton or Rodgers' fault.}

10.) 30 Dec 2018 13:11:20
Cheers for the reply something not right that's for sure. These next 2 Windows are massive. Quality needed and dead wood out. If the decline keeps going we will never get 10.

{Ed007's Note - Over the next 2 windows the team needs an overhaul with the old guard needing replaced - guys like Gordon, Lustig & Bitton, even Brown needs told that he's not a guaranteed starter and has a HUGE decision to make about his future - and the squad players who aren't good enough or offering nothing shipped out.
Our squad has been bloated for years now and yet we still seem to be stocking up on squad players rather than first team regular starters, our youngsters like Ralston, Johnston etc should be our squad players
It looks like we'll also need to replace Boyata and Benkovic before the start of next season or we'll end up in the same situation Ronny was when VVD and Denayer left without adequate replacements. There's no doubting Ajer's quality and potential but he's still a kid and like Edouard shouldn't be playing every week.}

11.) 30 Dec 2018 13:29:17
Naw it was McGinnis fault. He choice villa over us at the end of the day.

{Ed007's Note - He should have been signed up long before he had that choice.}

12.) 30 Dec 2018 22:49:00
I agree with Kev. Pedro was trying to get the best deal for the club, which is his job, and if McGinn was really Celtic daft, he would have signed when we matched Villa’s offer. Don’t want players at CP with that lack of commitment but I’d also have to question if he’s good enough to get into our midfield anyway.

29 Dec 2018 19:52:50
Poor today and maybe could have snatched a draw but every cloud has a silver lining hopefully that comes in January on the plus side still top with a game in hand.

Patrick67

1.) 29 Dec 2018 21:10:50
The whole club should be embarrassed with that performance today. Board for failing to do there duty in summer window. Rodgers and his pathetic tactics and the players for putting such a heartless performance in.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 21:39:25
Hard to argue with that.

3.) 29 Dec 2018 21:46:30
Well done Patrick, one of the first posts that's not ripping into the team or manager. The sense of entitlement that has crept into many posters on here is becoming ridiculous. I worry for their sanity when the day comes ( and it will come eventually) we don't win a domestic treble. We lost a game today away from home with an understrength team, no titles were lost no cups lost not even top spot lost, but you would think we have lost the lot with the reaction. 7 trophies on the trot and a great chance it could be 9 which would be a phenominal achievement and must be near a European record. One poster even saying 7 or 8 of the team shouldn't play for us again after today, what's that aw about?

4.) 29 Dec 2018 22:28:21
Agreed, a disappointing result but let's not chuck the toys out the pram, we are not entitled to win every game. Like you say Patrick the reaction to this will be to make strengthening the team a must in Jan. Remember the last time they won a game? We've won every trophy since.

5.) 29 Dec 2018 22:32:23
Well said Stevie naebodys deid ☘️.

6.) 29 Dec 2018 22:44:31
C'mon bhoys. Of course no one has died and of course we don't deserve to win every game. It's a football chat room talking about football. Doesn't make you a lesser fan because you have a opinion in the game.

Celtic were atrocious a complete embarrassment. Even during the huns 9 in a row. Did a witness such a toothless Celtic performance. All the happy clapping in the world isn't going to change the fact we have have them believe they can compete.

7.) 29 Dec 2018 23:18:59
@Happy, They can believe all they want that they can compete over a season with us, they don't get called the deluded for nothing. For the record I've seen a helluva lot more toothless than that against RFC 1872-2012.

8.) 30 Dec 2018 00:12:06
Happy, you’re right, we were pish and to be honest, I have no idea why we were so bad today. However, I think what JFP’s saying is we need to avoid over reacting. They played well, we played pish. Let’s accept it and move on.

9.) 29 Dec 2018 23:32:27
The facts are we our spoiled some do think we are entitled to win the facts are BR appointment and making Celtic stronger has made teams better not only in players but tactics and management Kilmarnock have had the best points total in 2018! I'm unhappy about today but 7 trophies in a row and a possible 2 more in Europe aswell as a transfer window I know what side I'd want to be on give the bhoys a break hh.

10.) 30 Dec 2018 12:01:51
Totally agree Patrick, the most sensible post I’ve seen on here for a while. I’ve said a few times, I think we could be entering a golden era in Scottish football. Let’s embrace it.

11.) 30 Dec 2018 12:27:32
A total shambles yesterday. We will still win the treble. Rogers needs to stop buying pricks. A clear out of wage theifs and use the money saved to pay quality players who can improve us.

This is a wake up call that’s been coming. It’s how we react to it that will define us. You need to be able to take a good punch and still fight on. We will. Let them
get even more deluded. We are still top with going backward recently.

You cannot blame Lawell for 40% of our pool being rubbish. Rogers needs to sort that out as his recruitment so far has been abysmal, with 20 brought in and only five doing anything.

We need to hold our nerve. Take this as a turning point and kick on. Hopefully we will. We must.

Fantastic from the bhoys tonight especially the young lad Ralston young Johnson was good too 3 down 9 to go COYBIG.

Patrick67

1.) 19 Dec 2018 23:05:35
Good on Ralston one of the pundits on radio synde was basically writing him off before game. There just seems to be a good atmosphere among youngsters in team just now grabbing their chance.

2.) 19 Dec 2018 23:28:14
I read on here he may be going out on loan in Jan? I would hope that we reconsider (if true) as he was superb tonight and put in a great shift, up and down the pitch, took his goal very well and made some good tackles (even on James Forrest) and should be preferred to Gamboa and Hendry as Lustig's replacement/ cover.
There was also a supreme show of defending from Benkovic yet again, who made Boyata a better player and is doing the same with Simunovic The young man is an excellent talent and even if he is here for a short time, will make his mark and leave a huge impression.

3.) 20 Dec 2018 00:05:00
that's because they see light at the end of the tunnel. BR is prepared to give youngsters a chance.

4.) 20 Dec 2018 00:44:53
I agree bhoys. Im concerned about edouard injury. January in my opinion is a chaos time to buy players. Any striker who has bagged a few goals has clubs chasing them and obviously current team will try to keep them. If this is case I hope Dermott Desmond steps in again like he did for Robbie Keane loan.

Most importantly though i hope Leigh makes a full recovery. Im proud of our club and fans for manner in which everyone has supported him. Even more admirale is the fact both Leigh and club have publically stated the issue. Its an inspiration to others who are in same situation to seek help.

It annoys me though how other clubs in past have cast players with issues aside or transfered them to wash hands of issues.

5.) 20 Dec 2018 03:35:36
Delighted that young Ralston had such a good game. I couldn't believe some comment that were posted about his performance last night on Twitter slating the lad. For the life of me l have no idea what game they were watching. The lad hasn't started a first team game for quite a while and comes in and was very solid all night. The lad is still learning and is as strong as an ox. Hopefully he stays and isn't sent out on loan and goes on from here to push for a starting place.

6.) 20 Dec 2018 17:33:38
Great to see all the young players doing well. 7 Scots in tonight's game was good to see. We have had a bad run of injuries so far this year and the winter break will come at the rite time. Win the next 3 games and the league's done and dusted for the new year. Most of us predicted it apart from the panty wetters, the media and the orcs! It's the Hope that eats away at them year after year trying to compete with us for the Title. Never mind "A title race"They should concentrate on trying to win a League game V us as they haven't since 2012.

19 Dec 2018 12:19:56
Hopefully a strong finish to the year 4 games 12 points please for a merry Christmas last season we finished the year on 50 points just 1 defeat we can get to 45 points this year if we win all 4 remaining games although in saying that we finished the year last season on 22 games we'll only have played 20 this year so could end up with 51 points after 22 games if we win our next 6 the sevies finished the year on 40 points after 22 games although they could finish the year on 46 after 21 games really important period with these quick fire 4 matches COYBIG.

Patrick67

1.) 20 Dec 2018 00:08:23
Patrick, you would not happen to be an accountant by any chance?
Numbers thrown about all over the place, I fell asleep twice counting them H. H.

16 Dec 2018 18:19:38
1 win in the last 4 league games is worrying we need to win all 3 games before the 29th.

Patrick67

1.) 16 Dec 2018 21:32:03
Let’s hope Hibernian do the same to them on wednesdsy.

2.) 17 Dec 2018 01:05:42
