Ed the two players I've heard being mentioned regarding marquee singning is between gerard and yaya toure I think out of the two more likely gerard can you shed any light thanks mate.

North sea

{Ed007's Note - No. I've never mentioned either of them as possible signings.}

1.) 20 Aug 2016 01:21:21
IMO yaya toure looks more realistic. Guardiola will probably not play him much, he can play with his brother again, he can win some titles and play in the champions league. The only question is if he would accept the wage cut like his brother.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 01:41:20
Might send him up and pay his wage. As they will be paying it to have him there sulking causing bother might be best to have him away playing. Pep ain't a fan was one of 1st away at Barcelona with Ronaldinho and replaced with sergio busqutes.

3.) 20 Aug 2016 08:08:36
Imagine it was Ronaldinho how amazing would that be.

Evening ed, bhoys and girls ed I posted about two weeks ago regarding two rumours I heard regarding zlatan signing for the hoops the same guys has told me once again today it's a bang on cert.

North sea

1.) 03 Jun 2016 19:28:06
I don't really see why he would come to Celtic? He's been offered allsorts to play in China or he could go to the premier league. Although he could come to us and play against thistle at firhill.

2.) 03 Jun 2016 20:27:47
They would need to put another level on main stand if this happens.

3.) 03 Jun 2016 20:35:02
I would love to believe this is true I just can't see it happening he would give up the chance to play EPL football for the chance to go up to Inverness on a cold winters night! As a player I would have him in a minute but between his ego and Brendon's ego something would have to give! Imagine if he got more than 13000 fans turning up for his unveiling that is bound to hurt Brendon's feelings and brues his ego! We would have to take everything back that we have ever said about Liewell if he pulled that off!

4.) 03 Jun 2016 20:40:28
Heard the same thing myself, Zlatan and Griff leading the charge towards a 50th Anniversary CL title! Would love to share my tips for the defence but I've got the millenium falcon double parked at the Henrik cloning factory.

5.) 03 Jun 2016 21:03:02
I've heard we will sign a bums off seats player before pre season.

6.) 03 Jun 2016 22:16:35
Well it's not Zlatan, saying signing 1 year deal with Man U . Sky sports.

7.) 03 Jun 2016 22:19:20
Just announced he's going to Man U.

8.) 03 Jun 2016 22:28:10
Yeah the "bums off seats" patter has been doing the rounds on Twitter. I'm not reading too much into any rumours at the moment tbh.

9.) 03 Jun 2016 22:41:08
Sly spurts news gold breaking rumour ticker bar says differently I'm afraid troops. Going to join Man Utd this weekend. In fairness it was a very long shot. Onwards and upwards🍀.

10.) 03 Jun 2016 22:44:08
Bums on seats signings is what we need. Scepovic Pukki and Bangers got them off the seats.

11.) 04 Jun 2016 00:01:04
Bums off seats signing meant to be fletcher surely nobody at the club thinks the fans will be delighted with this.

12.) 04 Jun 2016 09:42:49
An injury free fletcher is a great player so stop complaining about " his level "

He would be very welcome and a great foil for griffiths.

13.) 04 Jun 2016 09:51:23
An injury free fletcher is a great player??
What fletcher have you been watching?
He doesn't score goals!!
Never scored them at hibs or in England
He doesn't create goals.
He is very rarely fit.
He's a dud and his whole career is a total myth

14.) 04 Jun 2016 15:36:39
His agent is the real superstar that's got him the big money and salary moves it's ridiculous the money that he's made from the game for being a really average footballer.

15.) 04 Jun 2016 16:10:21
Isn't it nice before our new Manager to have hardly got his feet under the and some " great Celtic supporter decides to start a completely groundless rumour about the size of B Rodger's ego . We really do attract all sorts as fans .
Show me a Manager with a small ego and I will be looking at a manager failure .

16.) 04 Jun 2016 16:37:49
Old bhoy

Agreed. Saw the BIG EGO point. In guessing the poster fed off another EDs fixed view of BR. It's amazing how so many posters have so many football men pigeon holed. And here's me thinking the best judges are the players and the chief executives.

I can only hope / assume the poster knows BR very very well because I'd hate to think his declarations on BRs big ego are based on 3rd party 2nd hand rumour and supposition. Heaven forbid eh?

Hail hail

Let's get john McGinn to Celtic park. I will pick him up and drop him off and/ or get his taxi

TB petition needs names.

{Ed001's Note - you two are so sanctimonious, it is embarrassing. Bodgers has a big ego, to start trying to dispute that just makes you look stupid. As for who are the best judges, you just make yourself look even more stupid. Chief executives have shown many times how lacking in judgement they are and players are just not very bright as a rule. You two are so busy trying to be superfans that you have no idea about reality.}

17.) 04 Jun 2016 18:10:43
Who cares if he had a big ego.
Most of the most successful people in the world have big egos.

{Ed001's Note - now that is the point. It really is not an issue, so long as he is successful.}

18.) 04 Jun 2016 18:25:24
Ed

I think you have a big ego too

Takes one to spot one eh?

Sanctimonious? That's a first. I'll cherish that

Yours is the right to reply

And ps

I didn't suggest that your view wasn't robust or first hand but I take people as I find them / see them

BR has come to CP with a REP created and propelled by others

I will make my own mind up based on statements assessments and body language and how I see him

You have him nailed and that's your perogative.

{Ed001's Note - I have never claimed to have a small ego. Rodgers earnt his rep through his own failings, not through anything 'create and propelled by others'. He shouts his mouth off about how great he is and how everything good was down to him and everything that went wrong was always someone else's fault. Hell, he even tried to claim credit for Luis Suarez, that he made him known, despite him already being world famous for the handball on the line in the World Cup. That is why he is known to have a big ego, because he does have one.}

19.) 04 Jun 2016 19:15:01
Ed001 Suarez also credits Rogers for helping him become the player he is now tae.

{Ed001's Note - that is not what Rodgers said and Suarez has said that about every coach he has worked with. You might want to read it again, Rodgers claimed he made Suarez well known, not that he made him the player he is. Which he didn't, as he ruined every other bugger in the team, so it is clearly not due to Rodgers that he was so good.}

20.) 04 Jun 2016 19:26:55
Fair enough ed.

21.) 04 Jun 2016 20:30:11
I cannot recall too many Managers who don't have a big ego. They need it to be able to get over the snide remarks that come from opposing fans . At Celtic, unfortunately they need it to ward off the groundless remarks from their own fans .
Every Manchester Utd Manager over the last 25 yrs has had a big ego as far as Liverpool fans are concerned and similarly every L'pool manager has in the UTD fans eyes . However when these managers were in charge of their club we didn't hear any reference to it from their own supporters .

I don't understand why we are discussing B Rodger's ego, surely that is one of the reasons he has been as successful as he has, it wouldn't it. be a lot worse if he was saying he didn't know how Celtic would play and that he would leave it to Brown and someone else and then added that the Celtic job was too big for him but he would try to muddle through.

22.) 05 Jun 2016 04:54:27
Klopps got a huge ego how'd he get on last season.

{Ed001's Note - a lot better than Rodgers.}

23.) 05 Jun 2016 09:01:01
Ok let it go you don't like Rodgers we get it, but we'll give the man a chance and if he fails you can come on and tell us we were all wrong.

{Ed001's Note - actually I think he is a nice guy. It is not him as a person I dislike.}

24.) 05 Jun 2016 12:09:22
Ranieri has never struck me as having big ego.

25.) 05 Jun 2016 19:36:15
Exactly and he didn't win the EPL until he was in his '60's, if he had a big ego he would have won up to 10 EPL.

24 May 2016 11:56:58
Ed don't shoot me down for this but I've heard twice today that zlatan might have a cracking at Europe with celtic is this a load of bull thanks mate.

North sea

{Ed007's Note - I can't see it. I've heard a whisper that ex-Fulham CB, 24 year old CB Dan Burn could be one of Rodgers' first signings on a Bosman.}

1.) 24 May 2016 13:11:32
Thanks ed didn't know whether to believe it thought it was a p! s take.

{Ed007's Note - He'll more than likely roll up at Man Utd to play for Mourinho again.}

2.) 24 May 2016 13:36:45
Thanks ed do you realistically see what us fans consider a marquee signing.

{Ed007's Note - With Dermot Desmond being so involved I wouldn't be at all surprised. A lot of fans would say we've made a marquee signing already by signing Rodgers.}

3.) 24 May 2016 13:52:12
Thanks for your insight mate I'm just hoping for the domino affect here one great thing after another haha.

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome (yes) I think we're all hoping this is the start of the Club the really pushing forward after stagnating for the last 5 or 6 years.}

4.) 24 May 2016 18:35:57
What what I've seen of him on TV Dan Burn is nowhere near good enough for Celtic .

5.) 24 May 2016 19:46:07
Uninspiring signing. Doesn't look clever at all. It smells like it's purely for the sake of him being a free agent. There are good bosmans to be had, but for me this wouldn't be one.

13 Aug 2015 19:37:41
Saying on the radio Scott Alan to be paraded on Saturday I personally think we've got better at the club already and a top class striker should be our priority

North sea

1.) 13 Aug 2015 19:56:55
I agree North Sea. We have a solid midfield and we should be hunting for a striker

2.) 13 Aug 2015 20:23:24
We still need a number ten, Johanssen has been awful and gives the ball away far too much. If RD I'd true to his word about players having to earn their place then it can't be too long before he is left out

3.) 13 Aug 2015 20:34:58
I think this is all poo I doubt he'd go to Celtic anyway and I don't want the wee horror

4.) 13 Aug 2015 21:27:19
I think the boy is a good player who can spot and pick a pass , he would be a useful player , but whether he could turn his back on Sevco is another matter , but there again a cheeky wee bid of £500k+ would stop them getting him!!

5.) 13 Aug 2015 22:40:32
Surely Scott Allen has some sort of a brain and would if the offer was on the table turn his back on them , after all a Rangers player isn't quaranteed next month's wages .

06 Aug 2013 17:22:43
Ed I know you don't agree much with loan signings but is there any chance we could have got loic remy from qpr for a season I know it's not ideal but for the reported 2 mil Newcastle have got him for could we not have signed him as a replacement for hooper for short term just throwing it out there cheers mate {Ed007's Note - He was on £75k a week at QPR and he has a rape allegation hanging over him which is probably the reason he is only on loan.}

Evening ed bhoys and ghirls for the first window in i don't know how many years I look at our starting 11 and I honestly don't think we need to strengthen having said that do you see anyone coming in thank you

North sea

{Ed007's Note - I can't see anything happening this late - so much for Rodgers want to get CL players in in plenty of time.}

1.) 31 Jan 2017 21:23:54
I hope Rodgers gives a few people a bit of a clue as to how things will go in the summer. His way. And I mean at the start of the window. He's already shown on a few occassions that he is the boss now. If Chelski did indeed make a bid for Dembele today you can bet your bottom dollar it's because BR is in charge that Dembele is still a Celtic player. You can bet your bottom dollar we took a holiday in Dubai over a lucrative friendly tourney because Rodgers is in charge. And you can bet your bottom dollar he won't take the recurring excuses again.

2.) 31 Jan 2017 21:55:04
and you can bet your bottom dollar they be back for dembele in the summer

3.) 01 Feb 2017 09:39:05
That's a lot of bottom dollars 💵

4.) 01 Feb 2017 09:50:53
If there wasn't a deal to get the right players in on time then that's ok with me. In my opinion with the squad we have and a few summer additions we should do not bad in CL qualifiers. So not to disappointed about the signings or lack of.

30 Jan 2017 17:03:24
Saying on sly spurts Chelsea are now in for dembele hope we stand our ground if true and tell them to get tae this bhoy is destined for either Madrid or Barcelona in a few years

North sea

1.) 30 Jan 2017 17:34:49
We can't ignore 40 million if that's the figure being quoted, agree the fee with loan back for 6 months

06 Jan 2017 18:24:47
Evening ed bhoys and ghirls just a quick question regarding transfers this is probably the first year for probably the last 15 years or so I would be quite happy going with what we've got and keep the kitty for the summer. Would you agree ed or where do you think we need to strengthen thanks in advance

North sea

{Ed007's Note - I agree that we don't need to strengthen this window - or even the summer if I'm honest - to continue our domestic dominance but imo before the CL qualifiers next season we need a GK, a CB, CM, RW and I'd still like to see someone brought in to play the No.10 or role to compete with Rogic and cover for him when he needs rested or injured. Where do you think we should strengthen?}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 22:24:24
For champions league i would say new pacey right back, centre half, holding midfielder and a big centre forward. Is it just me as well ed I don't really rate forrest or mcgregor
Think they are weak links

{Ed007's Note - I like McGregor and he is good enough to play in any domestic matches for us plus his adaptability to play a few positions is handy. Forrest is rank rotten, he'll have the odd purple patch but you know it's only a matter of time before he reverts back to mediocrity or worse.}

2.) 06 Jan 2017 22:33:02
New GK to challenge Gordon would be good, as I have no faith in the deputes and only a recently changed perception on Gordon. Another dip in form could be catastrophic in the qualifiers.
Not a new RB ed? I'm happy with Erik and jozo, but need good cover for them. For me I would ship out efe and boyata and bring one in.
RW totally agree, but I think we are also light on LW. Being spoiled with Sinclair to then have GMS coming in shows we don't have the quality as back up.

I don't think we need many additions to our starting 11 (bar maybe RB) , but strong competition for places would be ideal.

{Ed007's Note - I don't get where the sudden thinking that we need a RB is coming from, I'm happy enough for Lustig to be first choice in the short term (18 months?) and I think there is positions we need to look at before RB, RW being a big one. If we can't manage to sign Paddy Roberts we badly need a RW that will push Forrest out of a starting berth.
I'm happy enough as well with Simunovic and Sviatchenko but I can't see Toure being here next year and hopefully Ambrose and Boyata will move on which will leave us short on numbers and experience/quality(lol) in there and remember Rodgers sees Ajer as a CB rather than a CDM.
Mackay-Steven is like McGregor for me, he is good enough for domestic games but comes up short for the CL.}

3.) 06 Jan 2017 23:13:05
I only mention rb position ed because don't get me wrong as much as I love lustig I would just like to see
a young rb in the same mould as Tierney I know a lot to ask for but I think the way Rodgers is leading this team is brilliant and we can attract a better quality of player now. and on forrest he's a poor man's mcgeady and that's me being nice Haha

{Ed007's Note - There's been murmurings that Rodgers would like to bring in Jon Flanagan but I don't know if that's just people assuming. We still need to make a decision on or move ob Janko as well before we look at bringing in a new RB and we have Ralston in the youth team who is highly rated.}

4.) 06 Jan 2017 23:26:22
I have always have been a big fan of lustig, but I was under the impression he hadn't signed a new contract yet (I may be incorrect though! ) Gamboa though gives me the fear.

Will be interesting to see how Forrest responds to Roberts leaving tbh, may become too comfortable. Do you think we could sign paddy permanently? If so do you think he'll get more game time? I have been saying that he is much better than Forrest, but as he is only on loan, Rodgers doesn't want to rely on him.

Forgot about big Ajer at CB. Do you know if he is highly thought of at the club?

{Ed007's Note - Lustig's deal has 18 months to run on it I'm sure, Kev. I was told months ago that Roberts is nowhere near being in Guardiola's plans and not been told anything different since so I don't see why we can't sign him he fancies it and more importantly IF Rodgers wants him and City don't play silly buggers over the fee which I don't think they would.}

5.) 07 Jan 2017 08:41:25
i still think we are crying out for an attacking playmaker in the lubo mould.

6.) 07 Jan 2017 09:03:17
Def. a GK would be my priority

7.) 07 Jan 2017 09:43:00
I think Lustigs future could be at centre half! I'm happy with the two guys there but they do need cover and if we have another RB Lustig could provide that! As well as a few run outs at RB, jury is out on Gamboa! Can't see any reason why we can't get Paddy Roberts on a permanent deal! I can only assume BR is playing Forrest wide right because Roberts is only on loan! Add to that a number 10 to compete with Rogic and I would be happy! Hopefully the young lad from the Ivory Coast will provide the long term Defensive Midfielder!

8.) 07 Jan 2017 18:59:36
would like to see a goalkeeper signed and settled in for CL campaign next season. Would love to see a deal worked out for Roberts, far better than Forrest.

Ed a quick question mate if you've got time my dad took me and my brother in the 90s to watch a as people call it now a pro youth game and I'm sure the bhoys name was Mark Anthony? He was different classwhat ever became of him mate thanks.

North sea

{Ed007's Note - Funnily enough I knew Marc pretty well through JP McBride. After being released he played for a few clubs in the lower leagues before heading to Australia to play for Perth Glory I think it was.}

1.) 15 Nov 2016 13:18:48
Thanks for the reply ed I still talk about him to my dad saying this bhoy was outstanding definitely at the time was head and shoulders above the rest.
