Espanyol in for bitton?

GracieBhoy

1.) 04 Jul 2016 16:46:33
Where did you get it? I will listen to Marca and ESPN espanyol now to hear if they have anything, they are normally good with info.

2.) 04 Jul 2016 17:15:03
If Bitton and Johansen were both to leave we'd certainly need another centre mid.

3.) 04 Jul 2016 17:55:49
I would let him go.

4.) 04 Jul 2016 18:26:31
If the offer is up to scratch, I wouldn't be upset to se Nir leave. I'd prefer to keep SJ. I think SJ is suited to BR style of play.

5.) 04 Jul 2016 18:56:27
I would also rather keep sj over nb.

6.) 04 Jul 2016 19:21:25
Biton slows the play down too much which is a nightmare for the way we try to play because once teams have 11 men behind the ball that is when we struggle whereas when we hit teams on the counter they struggle to cope with us.

7.) 04 Jul 2016 19:23:06
Just read it's 7 million euros don't know what that is in £.

8.) 04 Jul 2016 16:58:58
Heard something about that,7 Million euros. i'd bite there hands off for that! Decent big player but flatters to deceive! Wants far to much time on the ball and doesn't like putting the foot in! U heard anymore on ambrose leaving ED? The way some are talking it's just a matter of time! And who do u think Brendan was talking about when he says we'll hear some transfer news on Wednesday mate?

{Ed007's Note - Bayer Leverkusen have no interest in Efe Ambrose and the Germans have no idea where they story originated from, probably Efe's agent who has been hawking him around to try and find a buyer.
I've no idea who Brendan Rodgers is talking about.}

9.) 04 Jul 2016 20:03:56
Well ed you sure know how to spoil everyone's evening with that news lol.

{Ed007's Note - I still think he'll be moved on during this window.}

10.) 04 Jul 2016 21:46:22
Dempsey186 €7m is now the equivalent of £10m sterling after the referendum.

11.) 04 Jul 2016 22:41:49
Dempsey it is £5.8 million.

12.) 04 Jul 2016 23:41:31
Time for efe to do one, far too many high profile mistakes. Let's give youth a chance 🍀.

13.) 05 Jul 2016 01:09:24
Efe. Oh dear :) another howler and he hasn't kicked a ball.

14.) 05 Jul 2016 02:13:00
Reply forthe top of the thread.

Maybe we do need to sell both nr and sj. We haven't played in the last couple of years to the standard we wanted. Those two (brown included at times although I value his place in the squad) haven't done it. Plain and simple we have been completely overrun numerous times by teams that should of been able to do it with our resources. It has taken rogic finding fitness and form and Roberts to show up for us to take stock of exactly how bad our midfield has been. If BR can get more out of anyone in the squad great, but for the ones I've watched that can't look up and pass accurately at 10 yards then get them punted.

15.) 05 Jul 2016 14:32:18

Mulgrew to be offered new 3 year deal according to social media.

GracieBhoy

1.) 21 Jun 2016 17:47:57
Hope so provides good cover strolls spfl.

2.) 21 Jun 2016 20:25:28
Agree, him and Erik are by far the best two we have, Jozo might yet prove me wrong,

3.) 21 Jun 2016 21:03:05
I'd keep him around for domestic back up but not sure I would have given him 3 years!

4.) 21 Jun 2016 21:21:01
I really hope this isn't true, too slow for higher level competition. You say he strolls the premier but there is many times when he's either slow to react or gets caught ball watching. I appreciate he can cover a few roles but with his pace would you like him back at left back? I wouldn't personally, he's meant to have a wand of a left foot . When was the last free kick he scored from? When he plays midfield he generally plays his "long passes" which 8 times out of 10 go straight out. If we want to improve, in my opinion we need to be looking for a better player than Charlie . But hey, this site is all about different opinions.

5.) 21 Jun 2016 21:37:46
3 years! You've got to be joking.

6.) 21 Jun 2016 21:49:43
I thought wed offer him a year with the option of another.

7.) 22 Jun 2016 08:09:21
Quinn agree Charlie lacks pace and he's never a left back, and if Jozo and Eric are fit they'll play but as cover he does fine, disagree about his passing usually finds a man and he adds composure to the back four, next to Effe and Boyata Charlie's like Backenbaur.

8.) 22 Jun 2016 09:57:21
Quinn you hit the nail on the head there bud.
Mulgrew does not stroll the spfl and gets caught out plenty.
Not good enough

9.) 22 Jun 2016 10:47:00
All about opinions some want him to stay some don't IMO nobody in Scotland better than him, as far as getting caught out most CB will get caught out.

Any updates on transfers ed?

After seeing our possible opponents in the next round assuming we get through, if we end up against astana it could be a really tricky tie.

They have a great record at home in europe recently and i think we need more quality in to ensure our progress. If we risk going forward with this squad unless some of them improve quickly I can't see us getting far. HH.

GracieBhoy

1.) 15 Jul 2016 18:26:41
Astana also play on astro turf which makes things even harder.

2.) 15 Jul 2016 18:32:13
Last season warburton Moaned about those pitches and ye all slated and laughed at him now there not suitable for you mally?

3.) 15 Jul 2016 18:42:20
Wind yer neck in warbiola moans for the sake of moaning that's all he's done from the minute he arrived, as for plastic pitches I think most managers have had a moan about them so pep not on his own there am afraid Ryan.

4.) 15 Jul 2016 18:42:46
No Ryan there not suitable when you don't water them they become dangerous! IMO

Can't say a pay too much attention to what the magic loaf maker says.

5.) 15 Jul 2016 19:36:03
Just thought it was a wee bit hypocritical IMO.

6.) 15 Jul 2016 20:07:56
Astana play on a high quality plastic pitch Lincoln red was a 3g rubber siht one.

7.) 15 Jul 2016 20:21:20
I agree with Jamie. The pitches aren't great but when they are maintained properly they are ok. I wrecked my knee ligament trying to pass a ball on a dry pitch and instead of the ball moving it stuck and my knee opened up when my
Foot rolled on the ball. That pitch was dry as a bone and was the reason for my injury. That pitch on that rock was a health hazard and dangerous and that was a tactic that worked for that team. There should be regulations with them about how much they get watered and to make sure they have enough of the black stuff on them to make it a good grass substitute. As long as they don't use the black stuff that was a carcinogenic black material (oops! who ever it was that done that)

I just hope if this happens it doesn't stop us replacing bitton with a better centre mid.

Would be a great piece of business to keep roberts.

Yes i would also like to see the youngsters getting some game time if possible, you never know we might have another gem waiting to be unearthed.

I think right now we need a centre mid or 2, and would also like a right winger as paddy won't be here for much longer.
Then a cb to eventually replace toure. Or just give occonnel a chance? Would probably rather a new cb.

GracieBhoy

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be too sure about Paddy, he is not in City's plans and will be allowed to leave next summer if what I've been told is correct. Whether we can make it happen will obviously depend on how much City want for him, the wages he's looking for and if Rodgers wants him of course, but I do think the player would be happy to stay up here if it's possible.}
