First time poster here and just been looking into Finnbogason a bit more. It's already been said Heerenveen are operating on a loss and this is true. Dutch clubs tend to be prudent financially, like the Germans, so no matter what the Chief Exec of the club is saying, they'll be looking to sell him. Also found a very interesting article on him. As a youngster, he spent 2 years living in Scotland (Edinburgh), where his idol was none other than Henrik Larsson. In his own words, "he was the only player I wanted to emulate". I say we give this guy the opportunity to sign and tempt him with the no 7.

GMc7

1.) 100% behind you, we should sign this bhoy at any cost

2.) Hope what you are saying is spot on mate.

Big Jason

3.) Would love this to be true, sadly I think it is unlikely

Iain

4.) Lets get 60000 letters posted to mr lawell, we want alfred. this lad is class bhoys. danny.

5.) It is true, he played junior football in Scotland as a teenager

6.) He played for Hutcheson Vale in Edinburgh as a teenager whilst his parent worked and lived there

Thought the result was decent today. A few comments about the poor passing but remember we were playing on a plastic pitch! Very hard to play a decent passing game on a 4G pitch, don't think people appreciate just how different they are form grass.

Is that you GMS. You do realise we have a 4G pitch at Lennoxtown to practice on.

2.) 04 Oct 2015 22:50:56
Its always a handy excuse

3.) 04 Oct 2015 23:54:49
Exactly, and the pitch at Lennoxtown is much easier to play on than Hamiltons, I've played on the Lennoxtown one myself (and no, I'm not GMS). Going from the perfect pitches of Lennoxtown to that is like trying to play football on ice, density of the turf and the underlying surface makes it so difficult to pass on.

Good players can play on any surface and unfortunately we don't have enough of them these days.
The same culprits can't pass, shoot or control the ball no matter what surface we play every single week.

IT would be terrible if Celtic supporters couldn't have an excuse for only winning two one away a couple of days after drawing with an European team valued ten times as much as Celtic .
Why need an excuse? Are we not all Celtic fans here?

Well said old bhoy

Somebody called Derk Boerrigter just came on for us, this guy new or something?

What's the score and how are we playing?

Out at camp in oz with no way of finding the score.

Thanks in advance.

2.) 01 Jul 2015 22:30:50
Finished 2-0. First half was alright but second half was pretty scrappy as you'd expect with all the subs and younger players.

3.) 01 Jul 2015 22:38:58
2-0 frew , gms and an og a lot of academy players and guys returning from injury, dominated the game .

Was listening to Keevins on super scoreboard a few nights a go and he said Griffiths was a long way off getting a game for Scotland. Wonder if his opinions changed at all after tonight. His running was fantastic

What a guy!

I was out for a family meal in Inverkip, ordered the Sirlion Steak. Waiter says to me, sorry Sir we have no more Sirlion but we do have the Fillet

I replied, it's ok I don't like fish

Big Caeser was sitting at the table next to me and burst out laughing, my own mother then apologised to him for my stupidity.

Ah the embarrassment!!!

Been reading through everyone's suggestions/predictions for the lineup on Thursday. Most people seem to have Biton starting alongside Brown. I've been impressed by Biton lately, particularly in the old firm game. However I feel his major weakness is, and always has been, his unwillingness to put in a meaty tackle and stop an attack dead on its feet. This worries me as Inter have some pretty creative midfielders. Guarin and Kovacic in particular will be ones to watch. Kovacic has been rested for Inters game against Atalanta today so I'd expect him to start either beside Guarin deep in midfield or in a role further forward. He's very good on the ball and can often drift past players very easily. I think if we're to win on Thursday we'll have to play a game of controlled aggression and employ pressing for the whole of the game from back to front. Personally I'd like to see Johansen start beside Brown and Armstrong further forward because of their high energy levels and stamina.

GMc7

1.) I would set up cautiously with this Inter game and Vigil and Denayer need to be tight.

We cannot be pressing high up the park and leave gaps like we do, no offence to Aberdeen (our nearest rivals) but they are no Inter Milan.

Think he has to go with Brown and Biton and this is where I miss a player like Wanyama - goals, presence and not afraid of a tackle. Mulgrew also brings that wee bit of experience as well, I know not a popular choice but still.

I love that we've added GMS and in particular Armstrong, I would give them both game time but reckon it will be more suited to Armstong.

Anyway, can't wait!

2.) Bitton learned his lession diving in last season in his European debut and got sent off . To me one of his main attributes is Bitton' s ability to stay on his feet and make the player in procession waste the ball.
Matthew's dived in yesterday trying to make the killer tackle and the player got past him and we conceded a goal.

When you compare him to the CM's in the EPL it must only be a matter of time before the mid-table sides start making a move. If he bulked up a bit he would fit right in to any team outside the top 5/6.

Really hope they meet City at a later stage of the competition and he shows that £30m lump Mangala how to defend and play from the back.

I know Benfica do this in Portugal. They have all the tv rights to their own games although I'm not sure if the SFA would step in and block it here. They make more money out of it than they would otherwise and with the pathetic tv deal we get I've got no doubt we would too.

Ed did we not have Kramaric good to go as a 'replacement' for Scepovic when it looked like he wasn't signing? A guy who's already on 30 goals this season, albeit most of them in Croatia.

GMc7

{Ed007's Note - Yep.}
