Btw-I take it the Eddie Howe talk is moonbeams, aye?

Daviebhoy77

28 Jan 2018 05:15:12
Ed, do you think we have any chance of taking Vorm from Spurs?

Daviebhoy77

{Ed007's Note - Not with Hugo Lloris being out injured.}

1.) 28 Jan 2018 16:38:12
Oh aye, forgot about that. Rab Douglas it is then?

2.) 28 Jan 2018 18:27:33
I'm still waiting for the 'a trialist' name to reappear from the early 90's.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 19:02:21
I would have the holy golie back can still do a job and with begovic first choice i think he would jump at the chance.

07 Jan 2018 11:36:39
There's a beauty of a "report" on News Now about Southampton preparing 10 mill bid for Armstrong. You know, the Southampton who were (maybe) offering 3 mill for same player last Summer. That will take some topping unless the "Rodgers interested in Sturridge" stuff gains pace.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 07 Jan 2018 15:58:29
What a gift. 2 weeks ago he came on as a sub against Dundee. And Sutton slated him. Sutton as we know tries to be controversial. But he nailed him. Armstrong is a waste of a wage. Since Dundee United he has never improved. If we can get ten bob and get him off the wage bill. Take it.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 16:29:01
Tumshy do I no anything about football never heard so much nonsense in my life Stuart Armstrong is great player and much improved
P. s are you drunk.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 17:17:02
Wullie do you think that they are secretly paying posters to make stupid posts.

4.) 07 Jan 2018 18:15:25
Might be a bit touchy here Chris but hope that’s not about me, stupid rumour maybe but don’t think I’ve made a stupid post.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 18:26:46
Tumshie by name and Tumshie by nature. What a ridiculous post.

6.) 08 Jan 2018 15:54:33
Harsh on Armstrong. I'd personally be looking to move him on, but there have been spells where he's been absolutely fantastic for us.

23 Jun 2017 18:27:31
A lot of good noise about the Plasvic boy, anyone have anything more concrete than that?

Daviebhoy77

1.) 23 Jun 2017 19:13:13
On the bench tonight.

2.) 24 Jun 2017 07:49:50
Not putting the boy plavsic down and I know I've went on about this before . but if we don't give our own boys a shot them what's the point of the acadamy/ youth set up . why pay train and develop them for 6-7 years and then not see if they can do a job . with our current squad we must be more than capable of giving 2 or 3 a start at home games against the majority of our opposition . some will flourish others will be shown to fall short of what's required
But until given that chance they're just being trained for other teams to pick up on the cheap. hopefully the unbeaten run held Brendan back from introducing more last term.

3.) 24 Jun 2017 10:15:28
If he can't get a start for the U21's, especially when they're chasing the game, then that's a bit of a worry.

19 Apr 2017 23:30:34
Celtic haven't beaten Rangers in a Scottish Cup semi since 1925? Good job we're not playing them then! There can be no hoodoo beyond the memory of last year and imo, the team that played RIFC last year no longer exists either. Our team this year needs to play out their socks and put the match to bed before any honest mistakes can have any bearing on the matter.

We are preparing for CL qualification and if we can't beat this bunch of mugs then we're in trouble. Need to make it the game of the season, really hoping we hit them a dillion. Full gutty!

Daviebhoy77

1.) 20 Apr 2017 14:09:29
As long as we start Boyata, Roberts and Rogic we will be good, need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

{Ed007's Note - We played our best football when we played 4-2-3-1 earlier in the season and with Rogic back I don't see any reason why Rodgers won't revert to that so fingers crossed but I think you'll be disappointed come Sunday when Forrest will more than likely start.
Hopefully the players are fired up for this, if we turn up and play the way we know we can we will destroy them.
My team for Sunday would be:

-----------------Gordon---------
Lustig--Simunovic----Boyata---Tierney--
------------Brown----Armstrong----
Roberts---------Rogic-----Sinclair---
---------------Dembele----

But I think Rodgers will go with Forrest starting on the right and I don't even want to consider that he'll go with a 4-3-3.}

2.) 20 Apr 2017 17:19:52
Ed was lustig not injured or was he just rested.

{Ed007's Note - He missed training on Friday and as far as I know it was just a precaution that he didn't play at the weekend so I'm hoping he's fit for Sunday, Steph.}

3.) 20 Apr 2017 17:47:50
Yeah Ed that's the team I thought would start I was just hoping Roberts would get a start although it will be good to have him come on fresh for the last 30 minutes.

{Ed007's Note - If we can settle down and get our passing game flowing we'll have the chasing shadows tiring themselves out as the game goes on - that's the time to unleash Paddy and Griffiths.}

4.) 20 Apr 2017 19:21:55
ed i like that team. was a big boyata critic but erik doesn't fill nme with confidence these days whereas boyata seems to have come on toa game. tho id happily play the developments squad let's get real bhoys this is the worst hun team in my lietime (40 now : ( ) as the song gows . get intae them.

{Ed007's Note - Sviatchenko has lost his good form, over the last couple months he's looked nervous and slow to react at times. It's as if he's carrying a knock but I've not heard or seen anything about that and there's no reason to play him if he is with the squad we have.}

5.) 20 Apr 2017 19:50:55
Ed I'm with u on that lineup, but like u have a feeling Forrest will start.
Would prefer Roberts starting n i would rather get a great 60 minutes out of him at least than only 20 odd minutes to 30 at the end.
Players like him rogic n Sinclair always have that final ball, that beating of a man n goals in them and again for me wee james just isn't on a par with any of them.
Yes he has had a better season but too inconsistent n doesn't score n create enough regularly n how many games does he win us, Sinclair, dembele, rogic n Roberts all have that in their locker to turn a game or win us game n if Roberts doesn't sign permanently it's a position, along with goalkeeper that must be addressed.
Bring on the sevco anyway, always good to put the new club in their place.
Here we go 10 n a row.

{Ed007's Note - When people say Forrest has improved I just don't see it as he's still the same inconsistent player who struggles with his decision making. The only thing that's really improved is his his injury record and that will probably be down to him actually doing what the Club tell him for a change. He's a good SPFL player but beyond that he's nowhere near good enough.}

6.) 21 Apr 2017 07:36:21
Like that team ed but he'll prob go with forrest he maybe tracks back a bit better than paddy but paddy coming on for 30 mins is the ladt thkng sevco want to see.

7.) 21 Apr 2017 13:18:35
I think BR sees roberts as a impact sub tbh, so can see forrest starting, but like fellow posters would prefer to see roberts in from the start, if rogic is fit its got to be 4231.

8.) 21 Apr 2017 13:28:31
My only issue with your team Ed is that Lustig struggled with McKay's pace at Ibrox and ended up getting booked quite early and with Roberts not the most willing to track back, it could pose a problem when they attack.

{Ed007's Note - Lustig wasn't booked until the 65th minute but hopefully on Sunday Forrest will do his job and track back to help his fullback for a change.}

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:24:03
Sorry Ed, maybe not that early but I can remember them taking heart from it and him struggling as he couldn't put the foot in after that. Forrest offers very little defensively but it's still probably more than Roberts. Attacking there's only one winner. Regardless we should have enough to do a job on them. Moussa needs a performance.

{Ed007's Note - The whole team owes us a performance after some of the recent lacklustre showings. I'm hoping Rogic coming back will give us a huge boost in the final third and with Sinclair consistently performing well even though he looks a bit jaded at times there should be plenty of chances for Dembele to put them to the sword.}

10.) 21 Apr 2017 21:55:59
Time for return to form, Roberts and Moose starting is a must but we'll see. One thing for sure, don't want Bitton anywhere near the pitch.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 01:20:47
I'll second that davie. With rogic and dembele fit a bit further up to hold the ball it let's Armstrong and brown do a bit more defensive work if needed. The back four that starts I want to see finish the game.

12.) 21 Apr 2017 23:28:19
I agree ed regards lustig and i don't get where Forrest is better at tracking back then Roberts, i think its the other way round n in going forward lustig n Roberts work better together for me anyway.
It's the 1 thing that puzzles me with Brendan in picking Forrest over Roberts, i just don't get it and most folk u speak to me would pick Roberts every time.
I back every player in a Celtic jersey but if we are to progress in Europe as well as dominate domestically we need to be strong in all positions, and Gordon n Forrest r the 2 i feel we need better quality. Roberts or a. n. other in a top keeper who actually instills confidence n pulls off the big saves at that higher level.
3 1 Celtic i reckon on Sunday, sevco goal no doubt an obligatory penalty by whichever mason is taking charge of his favourite new teams game.
Here we go 10 in a row.

13.) 22 Apr 2017 14:19:15
Roberts everyday for me, I do think there has been an improvement with JF but PR is streets ahead of him. Brown and Armstrong sitting deep MF tomorrow could end up running the show. Hoping for a great improvement on last few games.

Ange's subs? Hand forced with Bitton and McCarthy opens the gates but Ajeti? Offers hee haw. I would like to see us go for Nathaniel Chalobah at Fulham. CDM who can also play in middle of defence. Very good CV, 26. If Ajeti could be offered in part exchange-amazing.

30 Aug 2021 10:43:44
The negativity against Ange following a one nil defeat to the champions after a Euro slog is a bit baffling to me. Someone highlighted the turnaround in past 8 weeks, I second that. When he came in, I thought he would need 2 seasons and patience from us. After 2 months we are night and day from where we were! Manager needs to know his pack, new guys need to settle and in particular, our midfield needs to know how to anticipate the movement of Kyogo. If we can get an up front partner who fits him we will be formidable. Punt Ed, keep Christie and keep the faith. They are a decent team now but have stood still, we are evolving and will kill the, m at CP.

1.) 30 Aug 2021 11:29:08
He threw out the blueprint that's seen us win our last two league games at an aggregate of 12-0. I'm no tactical genius but even I said in the chat at HT that Turnbull was an empty jersey and he waited until after we'd conceded and their tails were up to make the change. Ange has done a fantastic job so far and I have every faith he's going to bring success to the club but he's not exempt from criticism when it's due. If we can build up some momentum before the next derby then I have every confidence Ange will learn from yesterday and we'll get the win.

2.) 30 Aug 2021 12:12:03
Good post kev, am with the manager 100% but as you say he's not above critism and he's said so this morn he got it wrong, soro could have been on earlier and eddy turnbull and abada off sooner we could all see it, it may not have had any bearing but in 20 mins of kygo through the middle we nearly scored twice or should have scored.

3.) 30 Aug 2021 12:42:21
I was maybe exaggerating a bit when I said he threw out the blueprint but things really clicked for us when we put Kyogo central and that's what we lacked yesterday - although if Eddy hadn't made a mess of that glaring chance it would have been seen as the right call.

4.) 30 Aug 2021 12:52:04
Right there is another difference between Ange and Lennon Ange can admit when he got it wrong. Well done Ange a truthful and honest manager at last.

30 Aug 2021 01:37:57
OK pished up post but. cannot wait to to see evolution of Angeball! He coaches f#£k out of players! Also knows where Kyoto goes now! cannot wait to see us grow with players having time and him building his culture, also experience of Europa. But all that leads to next game with them at home! They will be Japan, we will be Godzillla!

Daviebhoy77

29 Aug 2021 19:17:18
Agree with a lot of what has been said, particularly that we are a rebuild in infancy and our manager is learning his players. I was disappointed today, Turnbull is very up and down and Eduardo-after today take the money and run. Kyoto lit up as soon as he went up middle! But too late, Rosicrucian shoulda started for me but won't blame manager for making the callls when he has more of a clue and actually does the job I watch and moan about in hindsight. My plus is that we will only get better and come NY time at CP, I anticipate a gap in the table in our favour and potentially a chasm in standard again in our favour. We coulda nicked an undeserved point today, we didn't. We move on, think on and watch the birth of Angeball get walking!

Any word on when Julien will be back? Feels like an age since he played.

Daviebhoy77

1.) 26 Aug 2021 13:07:16
Ange mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Jullian has a little bit of rehab still to do.
It was mentioned when Jullian received the injury, it could take until October before he starts training again.
If that’s the case, I wouldn’t expect Jullian to be playing for our first team until December.

2.) 26 Aug 2021 14:19:37
Really don't miss the guy as he seems a lot more out than in the team Was actually hoping he and Bolingoli would be among those leaving?

3.) 26 Aug 2021 14:37:12
youve got to be joking? get yourself on youtube and watch the league cup final and lazio home game and say you don't miss him.

4.) 26 Aug 2021 14:46:17
He's had about 5 or 6 good games since he joined. I personally don't miss him either. Celtic must be the only club where when you don't play the better you are.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see big Julienne go back to France in January and I wouldn't be that bothered either.

5.) 26 Aug 2021 14:55:42
we've 2 fit first team CBs and you want rid of the 3rd, who won us a league cup? 😂😂😂 i'll have whatever you 2 are smoking.

6.) 26 Aug 2021 14:59:02
He's the French equivalent of Boerrighter.

7.) 26 Aug 2021 14:59:54
bad injury he's had, could it affect his future at celtic.

8.) 26 Aug 2021 15:07:50
hes the french equivalent of derk boerrigter. yet somehow managed to play more than double the amount games in about half the time. right ok then 😂.

9.) 26 Aug 2021 15:15:03
Brumbhoy when was last time Julien played?

10.) 26 Aug 2021 15:22:59
What's your point caller? If you're going to try make out that colliding with a post and blowing out your knee makes you injury prone and a sick note, what's the point in me even replying.

11.) 26 Aug 2021 16:16:28
Julienne isn't good enough Brumbhoy if you think a handful off good games is enough for a 7 million plus defender then I will have some of what your smoking. Oh but he won us the league cup so he must stay. Does anyone over the age of 15 actually use that patter. Big Frazer forster helped us win the cup should we bring him back? . Hazard won us the Scottish Cup with his penalty saves should he be our number 1?

12.) 26 Aug 2021 17:02:47
Brumbhoy I thought it was fairly obvious my point. Julien is as bad as derk for injuries.

Doesn't matter how an injury is caused, an injury is an injury.

Bit of a stupid reply considering this is not his first lengthy injury spell, but his 3rd! . Two of those being at celtic.

Boerighter was out for total of 405 days due to injuries during his career, Julien is currently on 370 days during his career and will most certainly pass Boerighters 405 days total.

I don't know what your threshold is classing a player in the same category as Boerighter, not doubt you will be back on here whining in 5 weeks.

13.) 26 Aug 2021 17:08:18
Comon man, big jullien splits opinion and I can see why but he’s definitely done more than just scored the winner in the league cup final . I’ve seen him have a few stinkers but he’s looked really good aswell, maybe best way to describe his time so far is inconsistent. I think he’s best CB at club which might not be saying much but still.

14.) 26 Aug 2021 17:10:51
As far as I recall Frazer Forster was the main reason we kept a clean sheet to win the LC 1-0. I know Jullien had a corker at Ibrox three seasons ago and a few other good games, but he has missed far too much football (as did Simunovic) and there was even a rumour he wanted to return to France?

15.) 26 Aug 2021 18:21:36
How longs he been out for again? Cus I make it around 240 days so other than this freak accident injury he's missed around 4 months at the age of 28.

16.) 26 Aug 2021 18:22:27
That's weird cus as I recall it was jullien who put the ball in the net.

17.) 26 Aug 2021 18:59:23
It must just be me, but I was of the opinion an injury is an injury no matter how it was caused.

He has been out longer than 240 days, your clearly forgetting he was no sooner back from lengthy back injury.

Even at his age, I think Delph could be great for us. Almost like the utility role that Joe Ledley often went into but I would rather we signed a CB. (Also, I know Joe was more than utility player-loved him! )

Agree that time for him to go. Not sure if better than Moussa, for me he was total footballer-almost like a third centre half with corners and so composed on the ball, also able to bring others in in way Edouard doesn’t. . Ed has that beautiful composure in the box or on a run towards. I just can’t stand the attitude and I also think that he might stifle Kyogo. I do 100% agree though that I would love us to bring in a proper centre half, preferably someone seasoned with bit of experience.

Good to see our midfield looking trim. I’m afraid I’ve found the weight they lost! As others have noted tonight is far from a done deal, defensive probs well noted but I think pace in midfield will be key. Hoping Turnbull continues his wee vein of form.

Anyone, I honestly have not seen a more hopeless keeper! My son is no even 12 yet and shows more promise in sticks. When a keeper tells the press he would rather be a defender. Not quite the same as an LBsaying he would rather be a winger! It’s like a CDM saying he would rather be a chef!

Hart was immense, we need someone other than McCarthy. That team over ran him. Posted above about Nathaniel Chalobah at Fulham, reckon Celtic could be making of him. Versatile CDM who can also play left or right CB. 26 and just new at Fulham-would cost a bit but fits our needs perfectly.

Absolutely T1! Still early days for a pretty much new team but ironing that stuff out will be key for us. Keep hoping Julien will bring a bit of experience but as others have said to me on that point, he been out so long and often that maybe in Jan we need to look at bringing in some experience for the mid of defence-scoobied as to who….
