Does anyone know of paddy roberts injury progress. Thanks in advance.

1.) 13 Jan 2018 10:38:59
Bribhoy according to Brendan himself, Roberts not expected back playing until end of February, Rogic could be back end of January.

2.) 13 Jan 2018 10:41:20
He is doing light training and looks to be on course for February return.

3.) 13 Jan 2018 11:07:02
Been a real waste of money this loan deal with little return.

Hindsight obviously but surely we have a player in mind for a permanent transfer going forward

I’d love to see us go for Sebastian Giovinco - unsure of what he earns in the MLS but the kind of creative player we need for Europe.

4.) 13 Jan 2018 11:47:37
I’d imagine Paddy is the obvious choice for a permanent signing Kev.

5.) 13 Jan 2018 11:50:42
Gionvinco went to the MLS as the highest paid player at the time. He’s now been overtaken by Kaka and David Villa, but he’s on well over 100k a week.

6.) 13 Jan 2018 12:01:55
Paddy was outstanding last year and can only remember one injury he's been unlucky this year but as far as the loan we could have paid 6mill for him and he'd still be injured.

7.) 13 Jan 2018 13:18:37
Yeah but he’d be our player if he signed.

Hopefully gets back fit and well soon as we could have done with him in late December.

8.) 13 Jan 2018 17:11:48
Would absolutely love it if we used the VVD money towards securing wee Paddy.

9.) 13 Jan 2018 20:36:48
A fit on form Paddy is our best player. Hope we can secure him long term.

10.) 14 Jan 2018 12:15:36
It's been a nightmare season for the wee man considering he had virtually no pre-season preparation and this contributed to his injuries and stop-start second spell.
He has proved what he can do when fit and confident and I would be delighted if we could secure PR on a long term deal.

11.) 15 Jan 2018 03:16:19
Thanks for the above info. Hopefully we can get a bit of spark back after the winter break. All the players firing on all cylinders makes for an exciting second half to the season.

As an expat only get info from the papers and online here. Any truth in sturidge rumours or is it paper talk? Any other solid info on new potential signings would be appreciated!

1.) 08 Jan 2018 18:12:25
I haven't seen Sturridge mentioned in any paper online and I usually do a google news search on Celtic every day. I'm assuming then, that the Sturridge link has came from one of the tw*tter experts that I do not follow. Sturridge, when fit, was an excellent player, who the manager knows and would really fit our style. However it's a huge gamble given that he hasn't stayed fit for so long. Then there's the matter of him probably being on more than 100k a week, which makes any sort of permanent deal an absolute pipe-dream.

2.) 08 Jan 2018 17:38:35
Is that short for Brittany bhoy?
Any cache clubs down there?

3.) 10 Jan 2018 09:50:37
Don't live in Brittany Island Celt. Over in Oz so this is my only real line of information apart from the papers online but that info is sometimes hard to believe :)

Did anyone watch forests goals against Albania. Just watched the clip of the game. Even his disallowed goal was special. But his second one. What a finish. Sometimes I think we forget about how good our home grown players are.

1.) 20 Nov 2018 22:41:47
James is having an outstanding season by any standards. For a winger he's sure dangerous around the penalty spot (as his second tonite just drove home)

01 Oct 2018 06:11:22
The fabled timplosion still hasn't happened. Grinding results away and a little club drama. no biggie.
I do predict (if) hearts win next week you will see a hunplosion of epic proportions. the stevie g doubters are already banging the jungle drums. it will be an interesting week:)

1.) 01 Oct 2018 10:39:01
Even last night's Sportscene caption had 'stuttering Celtic' in their programme info; it really is an all-out effort by the media, hun-press and sniping pundits to unsettle BR (and the Bhoys) with wishful thinking, fake news and mischief making.
All the while in defiant denial of another club's failings.
We all know that we have had our difficulties this season, but recent performances and results are very encouraging and positive, despite a continued and relentless effort from referees to allow opponents a license to assault/ injure our players - unpunished.
That's why we're champions.

2.) 01 Oct 2018 14:06:11
Our club seems unable or unwilling to make a public complaint or take action against the Scottish referees . We the supporters will have to begin protesting, non stop whistling or booing at ref . Approaching his car, or Rangers supporters bus that he uses to travel to game . We must not break the law, but make them feel uncomfortable .
It's not just result of games that are at risk, but players safety, maybe if one player suffered a long term injury from a reckless dangerous tackle, then agents may not allow players to play as they feel they are not protected.

3.) 02 Oct 2018 00:42:51
This is the worst sequence of biased reporting I have seen from the Scottish stenographers in my memory and I’m 55 years old. It makes me wonder if they’re all aware that the end of the tribute act is actually near and there won’t be another one to replace it. I genuinely hope it’s not because I love pumping them 4-6 times a season but at the end of the day, there’s always the jelly and ice cream to look forward to.

17 Jul 2018 07:07:37
If rangers or Hibs/ Aberdeen progress in europe does that effect co-efficient or is it purely club based and if so would you take a good rangers run in europe for us to gain automatic cl qualification? . extremely hypothetical i know but interesting all the same.

1.) 17 Jul 2018 08:07:11
Absolutely. I’m more interested in our club doing well than their club doing badly, so anything that makes it easier for us to qualify is a positive. Playing Thursday and Sunday usually disrupts teams domestically anyway so would probably help us too.

2.) 17 Jul 2018 09:42:09
No. Bury them. Euro cash is needed badly over there plenty more Euro campaigns ahead. This tie might be tricky if they lose one first half, but honestly they looked pretty toothless. The heat might come in to play but if they keep the ball they will go through.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 12:32:10
I'm sure I read somewhere that UEFA were changing the coefficient to a each club basis, unsure if it was starting this season or next.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 12:33:19
All Scottish clubs effect the coefficient so if they do better then our coefficient rises.

5.) 17 Jul 2018 13:01:06
It's changing to club base I am sure. Just not sure when.

6.) 17 Jul 2018 13:30:14
If all the Scottish clubs start doing well on Europe, it will be a sign that the standard of Scottish football is on the rise.

04 May 2018 16:38:54
Happy Birthday Ed, you got your wish. a guaranteed 8 in a row;)

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate, 8 at least.}

03 May 2018 07:57:48
Sometimes you have to admit your wrong and i think Stevie G will be a good appointment for the gers. Its got people talking about Scottish football outwith the localised bubble. Everyone needs rivals in football, it promotes interest and prosperity. I flew through mumbai the other day and had the indian customs guy talking to me about samaras of all people. then the subject turned to the gers and he said if gerrard goes there ill hate him lol. Scottish clubs need the rivalry, wether it be Mumbai or Glasgow . PS. i hope he fails. but he will bring exposure!

1.) 03 May 2018 09:04:06
Would you be happy with Stevie G as a replacement to Rodgers Bribhoy? I think that's the question Rangers fans should be asking themselves.

2.) 03 May 2018 09:42:43
The bottom line is the fans don't have a say in who get's the managers job at any club, But the fans can get a manager the sack.

When a club is at it's lowest, morale and fans are bitching then any manager that comes in and starts a winning run/ cups will be classed as success no matter what or where he came from.
As the comment above if a well know manager/ player gets the gig it will certainly raise the profile and interest. Weather it generates the cash to buy or spend will need to be seen. Hail Hail.

3.) 03 May 2018 11:37:57
Great point jim. for talking sake Brendan left this summer and we replaced him with Gerrard, would we have faith in him doing the business? Think we all know the answer to that! It’s all moonbeams and fantasy yet again from that mob! They can’t afford a top class manager so let’s go for a big name with not one bit of experience managing a football club! It’s desperation and stupidity of the highest level! I was driving home from work last nite and superscore board was on.

the 2 modern day intellects of mark gudi and Alex Rae were discussing this, guidis said he had it on good authority that sevcos first choice was Sean dyce! The guy being touted as the next England manager and possible replacement for Wenger at Arsenal! But the 4 million compo was the stumbling block! I could barely see the road in front of me for the tears in my eyes! Couldn’t stop laughing at this utter drivel and fantasy! So there first choice was a seasoned EPL manager who would cost them between 3-4 million a year salary, but there 2nd choice was a guy who’s never managed in his life!

Said it before and I’ll say it again, I hope Gerrard does get the job, on a 3 year deal as has been hinted! Because it will mean 10 in a row will be even easier than any of us thought!

4.) 03 May 2018 12:10:23
But still good for us, if you read the underlying point:)

5.) 03 May 2018 12:19:02
Lh86. heard It! the £2m in wages Sean Dyce was looking for, was not the problem, Guidi could confirm that was all agreed.

It was as you say, the pesky £4m in compo his club were demanding.

Radio Ga Ga.

6.) 03 May 2018 13:35:46
Lh86. They can't compete with us on the field. We can pay more, and attract, better players. So what they need is a manager who can totally turn things around. Which would take somebody better than BR. Somebody top class. I'm not saying SG won't go on to be a top manager, I have no idea really. But judging him now on what's already there to see (a short spell as a coach with a youth side) , he's simply not the top manager they need.

7.) 03 May 2018 14:40:47
There's no shame when it comes to old squinty eyes. Trying to get investment using Gerrard's name.

Or its just a blip after two trebles and the MSM are using it for a spin. if rangers get put out the cup it will be Stevie g is pish. papers produce this spin to sell papers. We have been playing pish. but still in 3 cups. support the team not the media.

We are apperently a club in crisis. But we will never go bust. Love or Loathe PL he keeps the club in profit and a solid business. Summer window uninspiring. But sometimes better to hold than bust.

We have definitely stagnated, and rangers have improved (not hard after last season) . At the last minute we lost a wantaway striker. perhaps br thought he would be here all year? . Our start has been abysmal and the transfer window is over. However we still beat them. As soon as they won and we lost the likes of boyd et al are crying crisis lol. let's see what the next two weeks bring. i watched the killie game over here and didn't think the players weren't trying. just thought some of them switched off. The last thing we need is us to become as self-entitled as others. the chase is on;)
