It was good to see Calmac back in the team.
Hopefully O’Riley will start scoring goals now he’s playing further forward.
They were his first goals for Celtic since the Pre-season Friendlies.

Defence apparently woeful in the first half. Without CCV and Juranovic which reinforces the need to sort it this window. Any hopes of moving to the next level in Europe is dependent upon it. That and another striker, two if Gio leaves, to attempt to overcome the problem of not being able to score sitters, never mind take other chances. Came back well, but when you give a good team like Rennes, or anybody, four goals, that needs sorted and fast. I dream of us one day having a defence that can actually defend. Doing it in the league is not good enough, when we step up a few levels we are always exposed because we always have weak links. I have never in all my years watching us have ever felt we had a great defence, there have always been at least one potential bombscare. Watching the World Cup and seeing some absolutely brilliant defences had me asking, why can we never reach a level anywhere near that? Maybe one day.
