As most know on here I have been a strong critic of Lawwell, especially his handling of this and previous transfer windows, but I am on to give him some PRAISE. Here are my reasons.
With the players now signed, either permanently or loan, we now have good cover in most positions AND have brought in FUTURE players also.
Our defence now looks so much stronger with the signings of
Elhamed, Julien, Bauer, Bolingoli, Taylor, 5 players added to our already decent defence.
Further forward we already had Shved, Bayo, Arzani on our books.
All those mentioned above will be vying for places THIS season.
Looking to the future we have the two American defenders and Frimpong and O'Connor both come with good reputations, to those younger players add Luca O'Connell and Jonathon Alolabi.
In this Tim's humble opinion, Lawwell has future proofed our team for the next 3 or 4 years with these younger players both in defence and further forward, while the other defenders are also of an age to give us 3+ years of good service also.
Lawwell has maybe not brought in some players we all hoped from europe, but he has brought in good talented players AND all to our club's sensible budget, taking into account all the players who have left also, thus reducing our big wage bill, something the club across Glasgow has abjectly failed to do.
So Peter I give you an 8 out of 10.

TIM-We lost Lustig, Benkovic, Boyata and KT but have emerged from the window stronger and I agree future proofed as much as we can be which is some achievement.

Couldn't disagree more Tim, we played CL and EL qualifiers with 2 or 3 defenders in the team and Ralston and Hayes as backup on the bench, we will go to Hamilton with at most 2 CBs as Jozo can't play on plastic, the very least we should have had was Belling and big Vic on TDD instead we got a cheap defender from the team bottom of the league and more jam tomorrow, 3 out of 10 for me

for me its been a strange window. we've covered all the areas needed addressed ie rb lb ch gk . we dragged our feet on signings allowing exit from cl, . on the players themselves I don't think the full backs are individually better than who they replaced but the position is stronger with cover now, I think ch is looking stronger and will be better than boyata, and if the gk finds form of old no brainer he's best gk,

We would've also have won the Uefa cup if we had stuck with Broto, instead of risking Douglas, who played his first match in a month, since getting injured on beach ball Sunday.

The main thing is Big Arlene is here now for the 10 and will be as big a player for us this season as McGreggor is for them once he gets his match sharpness back.
